'Mum, mummy, mum!' Yaskin's voice was getting weaker. 'Daddy...' A faint blurred figure appeared, Andrid's. ' Hey little one, are you ok?' He nuzzled her and picked her up, he could tell she was tiring and weak, water would be the best thing for her now. As he gently placed her on the edge of the watering whole he couldnt help remember the time he saved Keyola's life here. 'Liko, where are you going?' He saw a outcasts pride member running on the other side of the watering hole 'Umm... Hunting!' He called, in a blonk he was gone. 'Wheres my mummy?' Yaskin looked up at him with hopeful eyes, wanting her parents back, she was only little, no doubt just a few months old. 'We'll find them, whats your name?' He looked away from her, not standing the fact that maybe they wont find her parents. 'Yaskin, my mummy put me in the long grass to hide me, she didnt come back.' A tear rolled down her cheek and Andrid picked her up.
'Keyola, we have a visitor!' Andrid shouted at his mate, Keyola, she was eating an antelope Liko had captured for them a day earlier. 'Eat Yaskin. Keyola look after her please, I am going to find her parents'. ' Ok, dont be shy Yaskin, eat.' They watched Yaskin eat the meat like it was the first meal she had eaten in days, her dark blue fur looked just like the night sky and the white leaves were dirty, surely it wouldnt be that hard to find her parents.
'Kiara, have you seen a lion and lioness walking around, we have there cub' Kiara was a teenager by this time but had never forgotten the time Andrid was looking after her and saved her from falling off priderock, saving her. 'No, if I do I will send Zazu over to tell you, now hurry, Simba's coming.' Andrid ran off and went to the Elephant graveyard, cackiling filled the air, the hyenas. 'Come on Shenzi, her parents wont be found, we saw them get killed, which means Andrid will adopt that little brat, if we steal her he will come running!' Liko's voice, but he was part of the outsiders pride so we wouldnt betray them would he? 'True Liko but it wont work, you, me and the hyenas wouldnt be able to kill him wether we wanted to or not; Shenzi had a point, Andrid was strong.
'Traitor!' Andrid roared as he entered the meeting place of the two traitors, one scavenger and one lion who was to much of a coward to look around when he heard Andrids voice. 'Woah Andrid, dont have a problem with me, I havent done anything, Liko here...' 'Shut up Shenzi, I have no problem with you yet, you hyenas just go where the power is, leave my sight, now!' Andrid launched himslef on Liko and could see the fear flash through his eyes, his pathetic mane matted, 'Go.' Andrid got off him and watched him leave, he went back to the Outsider's territory in the long grass, Yaskin was asleep. 'No one has seen them, Kiara will send Zazu over if she sees anything but. Liko is no longer a member of the pride.' He slumped down next to the stream and looked at Keyola, she smiled, 'Ok, dont beat yourself up over this, we knew he was no good from the start but you have done a great job raising this pride from nothing, I mean we have accepted people who were loners, Liko was just one of the bad ones, we have other lions and lionesses here who are not traitors and well we have a little member of the pride soon' Andrid looked over at Yaskin. 'She's not a member yet, if her parents come then she will go with them, if they dont I think the Pridelands would be best for her but its's her choice.' 'I meant I'm ... ' Andrid looked at Keyola and they at Yaskin as she was waking up, 'I want to stay here, my parents wont be found I just know it, you found me so I want to stay here, if that's ok?' Yaskin smiled. 'Of course it's ok Yaskin'
That night the pride slept under the stars but all Andrid could do was think about the pride and thats when it hit him, Keyola didn't mean Yaskin being the little member of the pride, she couldn't be, could she? 'Keyola, Keyola wake up.' He needed to know the answer to the question filling his thoughts. She turned around and looked at him, he looked into her eyes and already knew the answer. 'Are you, really?' She nodded, 'Yes Andrid, I'm pregnant'
The next morning everything seemed brighter to Andird, the birds soaring through the sky, the butterflies fluttering away from playful paws and the sun shining on his fur, highlighting it. Yaskin was playing with the other cubs, she was different to the other cubs, she had darker skin yet was so bright, her personality shone through. He looked around at every member of the pride, the pridelanders who had been banished either by their actions or by choice, the outlanders who tried to do better in life and got punished for it and the loners who were lonely no more, they were all part of the outsider's pride, this was the perfect time to announce it. He roared, louder yet filled with more happiness then he ever had before, 'I have an announcement' he looked over at Keyola who nodded, 'Yaskin is now adopted into the pride, as mine and Keyola's daughter, she has grown up so much since we found her, when I found her she was just below my knees, now look at her, nearly up to my shoulders, I have no doubt she will make a good princess, I also want to announce that Keyola is pregnant, this is the future for the pride, hope'
