Sinibie's eyes widened to see a bear hovering over her. What on earth is it doing way out here?
The bear raised it's huge paw and brought it down, attempting to crush Sinibie. She jumped clear of the Island-sized paw and leapt onto its back.
Snarling and thrashing viciously, the bear tossed itself all over trying to loosen Sinibie' grip. She held onto the hunk of fur that was in her mouth, and her claws raked down whatever her paws layed on. She caught a glimps of one of the cubs of her pride standing beneath the bear, growling and biting his foot.
You fool! She snarled under her breath and leapt down to where the cub was. She picked him up by the scruff and threw him back into a the safety of a thicket of bushes.
"L-leader!" The cub studdered. "I want to help!"
Sinibie glared back at him. "you've done enough. Now go back to your mother!"
Sinibie leapt into the air blindly landing on the bear's head. She sunk her teeth into it's ear and clawed madly at the back of its head. She clawed at its snout with her hind legs and tore its ear to ribbons. She leapt off again, landing on the ground and them leapt at it again.
But this time, the bear used it's masave paw to crush her into the ground. Sinibie roared in pain, her right shoulder bleeding as she stood and faced the bear again.
The bear reared up in anger and Sinibie found her chance. She leapt at the bear, knocking him off balance. It took a few wobbley steps back, sbarling and roaring, and then went down the cliff, tumbling head over paw. Sinibie, half sheltered from the pain by the bear's mass of a body, gripped onto the bear's neck, deturmined to kill him.
As the bear and Sinibie hit the ground with a hard thud, Sinibie blacked out.
"Leader!"
"Leader!"
"Leader!"
Sinibie woke to the sound of lions calling her name and calling out 'leader'. She opened her eyes slowly. She'd felt as if she'd just slept for a year.
"L-leader! Thank god you're awake!" Sinibie recognized a young lioness Sari's voice.
"Y-yes. I'm fine."
Sari hesitated. "I wouldn't say that's all true."
Sinibie, puzzeled, tried to stand. She fell to the ground with a loud shriek of pain.
Sari wrinkled her nose at the loud sound and hushed her leader. "When you fell with the bear, you hit a rock and it tore open your leg. You won' t be able to fight or walk for a while but-"
"WHAT?!" Sinibie struggled to stand again, only to fall down and feel warm blood gush from the large wound and ino a puddle beneath her. "What is Taska attacks? I won't be able to fend for myself! I'd rather die than loose to that fool!"
Sari pressed a leaf lightly onto the now-opened wound. "Stop moving, you've lost enough blood already! And don't worry about Taska. That bear did us some good. Taska is dead. When he flead, the bear got him before he made it out of our territory."
Taska? Dead? That's not possible...he'd never go down that easily! If I lived through that bear and he didn't...he can't be dead! Sinibie muttered to herself.
Sinibie drifted into sleep as Sari tended her wound. She dremt of Taska returning killing her and taking over her pride. She slept a restless sleep that night as well. Her nest was torn and scattered in the morning from angry and desperit claws slashing at Taska and the bear in her dreams.
