Chapter Two ‘NEVER KING?

Chapter one ‘Always together,’

As the sun rose over the horizon, Taka/Scar ran outside with his non identical twin Mufasa, “Come on Muffy, hurry up,” Shouted Taka, they ran to wake up their friends Safani, Sarabi, and Zira, when they woke up they played around until…

“Hay, I heard about this great place, I over heard these Zebras talking, this place is sssoooo cool,” Boasted Mufasa.

“So where is this cool place,” Said Uru, Mufasa and Taka’s mum, “errrm…” Mufasa thought, “Around the watering hole…” He smiled widely, “Please?” Sarabi and Mufasa said looking up at Uru with big lion cub eye’s.

“Alright,” The cubs cheered and leaped around with glee, the cubs played very far away from pride rock, they played when Mufasa said “Us boy’s are so strong we could pin anyone,” Taka looked at Mufasa and said “Not true, girls are strong to you know, why Safani, Zira and Sarabi are the best pinner’s I know.” Said Taka grinning at Mufasa.

“Well we’ll see about that!” Said Mufasa in a pose ready to pounce, he leapt onto Sarabi, they rolled around abit and play fought then when Mufasa was about to pin Sarabi, when Sarabi pushed her back legs up to flip him, and slammed him to the ground a straight pin down! Mufasa looked shocked and froze for a few seconds.

Taka was trying to hold back his laughter, but couldn’t help but smile, Safani was rolling around laughing out loud Zira had a case of the giggles, she laughed and rolled around, soon Taka collapsed into a fit of laughter,

“What was it again?” Zira sneered, “Us boys can pin anyone.” Said Safani in a low voice pretending to be Mufasa, “O.k. let me up.” Said Mufasa Sarabi let Mufasa up and walked over to Zira looking pleased with herself then Mufasa leaped on Sarabi again, and they rolled down a slope soon the rest of the cubs joined in rolling down the slope then Sarabi Pinned down Mufasa, and said not with out pride “Pinned ya again.” Then Taka said “Told ya so!”

Then their play was stopped when Mufasa pushed Sarabi off, and bounded of over a little slope, the rest of the cubs followed they looked upon an elephant grave yard, “Wow, it’s so cool!” Declared Zira, “Kind of creepy.” Said Safani, “Yeah, I knew you’d like it now lets go check it out.” Said Mufasa walking towards the elephant skull anchored into the dry earth, the bones where dry and crusty, all most crumbling away to dust, as they walked into the skull, “Do you think the brains are still in here?” Zira asked with a devilish tone and a devilish smile to match, “EEEWWWW!” Said Safani “that’s so gross to say.” Said Safani with a frown.

“This is no way creepy, and brains aren’t gross not that girls have them anyway,” Said Mufasa, Safani glared at Mufasa “And I laugh in the face of danger ha, ha, ha, ha!” He chuckled, as soon he stopped a laugh came that was not from a lion, but from two tall fierce skinny leopards “Ha, Ha, indeed Leo, what do you make of these cubs?” Said the dark cheetah with a scruffy black tuft.

“Trespassers, I think Dusty.” He sniggered, “And one of this one’s the future king, hay king, where’s your kingdom? Because your on are land, and since your on our land we can do what we want wiv’ ya.” Said Leo the light coloured cheetah with a scruffy neck line going from his neck to the end of his shoulder blades, they circled around them, “Why don’t you stick around for dinner?” Said Leo,

“Yeah, we could have what’s ever wondered into our place,” Dusty sniggered, “Yeah, make mine a ‘cub’ sandwich!” Leo jeered, the cheetah’s got so absorbed in making puns they almost let their dinner get away! The cubs had ran for it, but the cheetah’s soon caught up, the cubs ran further, they scrabbled up a large pile of bones,

“AHH!” Safani Shrieked, as she slipped down the bones, “No!” Shouted Taka, he ran down to save her, the cheetah was about to take a big bite out of her when Taka scratched his face making the cheetah jump back, and giving them enough time to catch up with the others.

“Up here!” Taka yelled as they approached a dead end, Taka climbed up some elephant bones showing the others a way to escape, at the top of the dead end was a ledge if the got up that they could run back to pride rock!

But the fragile bones broke under their paws, and they fell into the elephant rib bones, it was like a cage keeping them in, “Well the run stops here,” Laughed Dusty, flicking his tale side to side and licking his lips and flexing his claws, Leo got ready to pounce, baring his teeth and giving a low growl, then Taka bravely stepped in front of all the other cubs and tried to roar, “Rrr..rrr…rr,” He tried to roar the Cheetah’s just laughed and said “Go on do it again,” Dusty smiled.

When Taka tried again, the bones crumbled and shook with a powerful roar! Another lion a lioness jumped in front of them and pinned down the leopards.

“Have you boy’s have any reason you should but hurt in’ these poor lil’ cubs should do ya?” The cheetah’s shook their heads and coward as the lionesses claws came out and she gave another roar! The cheetah’s ran for it, and the lioness said “Now, lets get you cubs home alright folks?” The cubs thanked her and she took them home her name was Alana.

“Cubs where have you been!?!” Yelled Uru worriedly, “we were going to send out a search party till we saw you all walking over here!” Gasped Uru “Don’t worry mam, the little darlings have been with me, haven’t you all?” Alana winked and they all nodded, some how she new they weren’t supposed to be in the elephant grave yard, “Thank you they weren’t trouble were they?” Uru said worriedly, “Oh no, no, no,” Alana said.

“Would you like to join our pride, unless you already have one?” Alana shook her head, “I you don’t mind if I stay, my pride is long gone you don’t mind if my son joins too, and my sister, Jessie?” Uru replied “It’s no bother we could always use extra hunters, you know.” Alana smiled and returned with a male cub, and a lion about her age.

The next day Taka, Mufasa, Zira, Safani, and Sarabi were playing at the bottom of pride rock.

“This time I’ve got ya!” Shouted Mufasa he tried to leap on Sarabi but she jumped to the left, and he fell and rolled into the wall.

“Oof!” Mufasa groaned,

“Well you shouldn’t have gone for me, if you know you can’t pin me,” She boasted, wafting her tail in Mufasa’s face.

“Hum, really? I was just testing if you could dodge me.” He said simply grinning smugly,

“Really,” Said Taka and Zira, looking unconvinced, as they played Sarabi pinned down Mufasa, “Ha, quick Safani,” Taka looked quickly to the side of him and saw Safani leap, and pin him down, Safani giggled and Zira looked smug.

“I have no chance pinning you Safani,” Said Taka Safani smiled, and let him up, “Least you respect girls Taka,” Safani glanced over to Sarabi and she nodded her head, Sarabi let Mufasa up, and Mufasa had a devilish grin on, he opened his mouth, and said “Safani likes Taka, Taka likes Safani!” Taka went all shy and turned away from Safani, Safani glared at Mufasa and scowled at him,

“Do not!” She snapped, “Yeah Safani doesn’t like Taka like that!” Sarabi snapped as well, “I don’t like Safani in that way…” Said Taka in a quiet voice, going all shy.

“You do you told me,” Said Mufasa sounding more fierce this time, “Do not,” Said Taka all most as if he was going to cry, “Ha, ha, you do so, your going all red!” Sneered Mufasa,

“Oh yeah!” Taka yelled leaped on Mufasa and they fought taka hit Mufasa in the leg, and shoulder, Taka got hit in the chest and head!

“Ha!” Yelled Taka as he pinned Mufasa down straight down! Mufasa was shocked his younger brother could pin him down!

After that argument was over the cubs relaxed, “Hay, I was just thinking, who gets the crown? I mean their can’t be two kings! So anyway does any of you want to do any thing?” The cubs shook their heads.

Then suddenly they saw a cub approach them, it was the new cub Kanavu, “Hi I’m Kavanu, Can I play with you all, what’s your names?” He was quite a dark colour his nose was pink and his eye’s were both odd colours one was teal green and the other was blue, he had narrow ear rims, a scare on his cheek, a pink nose and a very dark brown almost black flat wide spread mane that almost flopped over his eyes!

“Hi, I’m Taka,” Taka said cheerfully,
“I’m Safani.” She said simply,

“I’m Mufasa.” He said with pride,

“I’m Sarabi,” She smiled,

“Hu, well I’m Zira…” She said getting close up to Kavanu, he backed up abit, they all played around till Mufasa and Taka’s farther the king Ahadi came over, “Having fun children, I would like to tell you all who you are betrothed to,” The cubs looked around at each other confused, “Who your married too,” The cubs were less confused now, “Mufasa, your betrothed to Safani, and Taka to Sarabi,” The cubs said eww!

“But farther I like Sarabi,” Said Mufasa turning red, “Well, swap then Sarabi to Mufasa, and Safani to Taka,” The rest of that day, the betrothed couples spent time with each other, “Stupid betrothed lions I have no one to play with now, what am’ I supposed to do? It’s not fair no one loves me, they just go off all happy smiley, and expect me Zira not to be lonely, they probably think stupid Zira she’ll be fine she’s a loner any way!” Sobbed Zira Looking in a muddy puddle at her reflection.

She looked rather gloomy till Kavanu approached.

“Oh it’s you Kavanu,” Kavanu frowned, “Why so upset?” He asked “I…I… you wouldn’t know, or understand well it doesn’t matter.” Kavanu, looked at her and smiled, “Come on Zira, cheer up, want to come and play?” Zira perked up and looked surprised, “Well ok, but I get a little rough,” She said looking unsure, “I don’t mind, I’m kind of rough,” He said smiling, he leaped onto Zira but she flipped him and pinned him down!

Kavanu looked very embarrassed, as Zira looked down at him, “I didn’t know you where that good,” He said blushing a little, “Well I’m very surprising,” She said, “No ones ever pinned me before,” he said gazing into her eyes, “Really?” She said letting him up, “Anyway how did you do that fancy trick?” Kavanu said looking sheepish, Zira smiled so that morning Zira taught him the flip trick, after that they went playing pounce on the grass hoppers, in the tall grass, and had fun walking and talking together.

The young cubs fell in love with each other, they felt a bond between each other like no other cubs before or after them, it seemed every time their eye’s met, sparks and fire works would fly they were pulled together by the fait of love a mystery so deep no man could define it, their togetherness was a perfect match, Kavanu and Zira new they had found their life partners their soul mates whatever you want to call it, they’d found each other! They hardly left each others sides, “Kavanu,” Said Zira she leaped at him they rolled down a grassy slope, when they stopped Zira paused, and saw that Kavanu had pinned her with out even meaning to, when he noticed they smiled at each other, and Kavanu and Zira just laughed, (Kavanu did say pinned ya just to get his own back).

As they walked back to pride rock the other cubs meet them, “How was your day Zira?” Asked Sarabi, but Zira and Kavanu ignored them and went straight past.

“How rude,” Sarabi thought… “Ah leave em’ Rabi, they look happy.” Said Taka, smiling at Safani, she smiled back.

A few day’s after Zira stopped playing with the other cubs except for Kavanu, while that was going on, the other cubs played, “Muffy, do you think we’ll always be together?” Said Taka, “Course, we will be Taka,” Mufasa said proudly, the months past and the cubs grew into teens, the boys where very big and had more mane now, and the girls where bigger but much more thinner and beautiful.
