as i woke up i looked around not knowing were i was or how i got there. i stood up quikly looking for somtheing familiar, but nothing looked familiar. i deacided to walk around and find a way home or at least figure out were i was. i herd a russle around me what ever it was it was moving to fast for me to see it. as i look around somtheing came out at me and pind me down to the ground, it happend to fast for me to react quikly. i looked up ready for the worst to happen, but nothing happend.

it was a lioness about the same age as me but she looked  different. she stept off and backed up.

" who are you?" i asked.

" good question to ask you to."

" well i asked first."

" alright, i'm sahari, and you."

" i'm nala, i'm from the prid lands."

" the pride lands,  a bit far way from home arn't we."

i looked closer at her. she seemed a bit tense and yet calme at the same time.

" do you know the way to the pride lands?" i asked hopping she would know.

" yeah, i know the way, but its deadly and it'll take days."

i looked down disapointed.

" hey all you need is someone who knows the shadows pass."

" shadows pass, whats that?"

she sat down.

" its one of the most deadliest valley you'll ever see."

" well do you know anyone?"

" yeah, your looking at her."

i wondered why she was ofering to help me find a way home. did she not have a clan or was she kicked out. thoughs were the questions running through my mind. so i dicided to ask.

" where you kick out of your clan?"

" wowe that was random." she said smiling. " no my clan died to hunters."

" oh sorry."

she smiled at me.

" hey no werries, you where just qurious." she turned around and waved her head for me o follow her. i was hesatent at first but then i calmed down and walked next to her. we where headed to a watering hole. i saw zeabras, wildabeast and lots more. i wondered why they didn't run from us when we came into sight. a cheetah came running up to us with a dingo at her side.

" hey sahari." they both said happily and then they looked at me.

" hi. " the cheetah said smiling. " i'm adele."

" i'm nala."

" hey i'm ayo." the dingo said smiling.

i exmened them both.

" so where are you from."

" hu, oh i'm from the pride lands."

" a bit far from home arn't we." the dingo said looking at some direction.

" i'm going to help her get home." sahari said bending down to drink water.

" in that case we're gioning too."

the next morning we headed out into shadows pass. when we entered into the pass, everything changed from light to dark. the shadows mooved with us i felt as thoug we were being wached and i was right, about an hour after we entered, yellow eyes followd us in the shadows. sahari and her friends knew that there was somthing following us but stayed calm. i looked behind me freaquently, always serching for what was following us, nothing ever apeared.

as we cept on walking we heard a noise coming from behind us. all of us looked back. it was a herd of wildabeast running from somthing.

" stadpead." we all yelled as we turned around and ran looking for a way to out run it or escape from it. sahari and i noticed a cave above a tree that reached up to it.

" come on." sahari said as she ran up the tree. we folowed her knowing that it was the only safe place from the standpead.

as they ran up the tree my leg got stuck in a crack at the bottom of the tree.

" ahh."

sahari and the others were already at the top. sahari heard me scream, she turned around and ran down the tree. as the wildabeast came closer and closer, sahari tryed to help me out of were i was but my paw was to deep into the tree. the wildabeast were gaining speed and we were in the middle of it all. sudenly sahari jumped in behind me and ran in front of the wildabeast. the lead wildabeast went down with a thud as sahari took it down. the rest of the herd turned in direction. when all the smoke cleared i waited for the worst, but sahari walked out unscrached. the wildabeast behind her steped up and ran.

adele and ayo come running down to help me out. as soon as we got my paw out of the tree. i went over to thank sahari.

" thank you, i owe you my life."

" you don't owe me anything, just your friend ship."

i noded my head, and we kept on walking.

" so what do you think startaled the wildabeast?"

we look at each other wondering the same question.

" i don't know."

"he-he he-he......"

we herd laghter be hind us.

" keep moving, ignore them." sahari said speeding up her pase.

the shadows began to creep in as the day became short. as i looked ferther nothing was visabale. the night came in fast as we found a place to sleep. all night i would hear the chiling wind howling, screaming as though many have lost there lives to the pass. the next day we where off into the pass again.

" so you got any family where we're going?"

'' yeah, aton." i reaplide to sahari.

adele walks up to me.

" so how far is it now sahari."

" adele, we just started yesterday how far do you think." ayo said looking at adele.

" grrr."

sahari stoped and looked at us.

" shhh, somethings following us."

we stoped and looked behind us, nothing was there.

" are you shure?" i asked sahari.

sahari started to walk again.

" hey so adele, ayo how dose sahari know so much about this place?"

" she used to live here."

" yeah, its said thats how her hole clan died."

" what do you mean?" i said looking at ayo.

" there was a huge famin, no one could have survived it."

" then how did she survive?" i asked ayo.

" no one knows. " sahari said smilling.

as the day progressed, not much realy happened, besides sahari always looking behind us, making shure nothing was following us. for some reason it was only somthing she would hear. we would also hear it to but it was faint. adele cept a stedy pase behind sahari. hours passed by and we had gotten fortty miles that day. we where exostit and hungry, nothing could live in the valley, unless it was small and that would barly feed our stumachs. days went by as we ventured deaper into the shadows. questions ran trough my head like. how far left to pride rock? and how long can we keep this up? but this is for another time.
