It was storming outside the Browns' house in Baton Rouge, LA. A two story, 5 bedroom, 3 bathroom house with a storm cellar. 11-year-old Scamp Brown and his three sisters Annette, Danielle, and Colette Brown are trying to reach the tv all at once 30-year-old Luci "Lady" Brown is starting to cook dinner and 32-year-old Thomas "Tramp" Brown is sitting down on the back porch reading the paper and listening to the rain out near their swimming pool.
"Scamp give me the remote, I want to watch iCarly!" Colette said to Scamp
"No, I want to watch Sonic" Scamp said
"Let's watch Spongebob" Danielle said excitedly
'EEEEWWWW!" The all said
"No I want to watch Sonic"
Colette thought of an Idea to make Scamp unhand the remote
"Hey Scamp look mom left you a slice of pizza!" Colette said
"Where?" Scamp asked
Suddenly a fight broke out over the remote and Scamp started chasing Colette around the house.
"Give that to me right now!" Scamp said furiously
"nanananananana!" Colette said teasingly
Scamp grew angry that he cussed at her "GIVE THAT STUPID REMOTE TO ME YOU BIG F**KIN SON OF A B***H, COLETTE YOUR A M************ A*****E!!!!!!!!!!"
He said it right in front of his mother.
"Scamp Elisha Brown!" Lady said dissapointedly "What did you say?!"
"hehe!" Scamp said nervously
"Apologize to your sister and you apologize to your brother"
They both said "sorry"
"Now both of you go to your rooms and don't come out until dinner is done!" Lady said camly controlling her temper.
"Yes mom" both of them said
The rain outside started to fall even heavier
Lady then turned on The Weather Channel to hear about the storms over their city then a public speech came n sounding something like this: "The National Weather in Baton Rouge, LA has just issued a Severe thunderstorm and tornado warning for the following parishes of East Baton Rouge and Ascension effected until midnight tonight if your are in these parishes and in the path of these storms seek shelter immediately."
Lady knew that they were in trouble suddenly the sirens outside started blaring the lightning was flashing like too many flashlights turning on and off at their windows. It has only been 10 seconds that they had been in their rooms. Lady ran up the stairs panting and in a hurry.
"Scamp! Girls! come on!" Lady said in a panic, At that time Tramp, who heard it on the radio, took the others to the cellar, barged in the room
"Jewel come on I've got Danielle and Annette in the celler already!" Tramp said grabbing Lady's hand
Lady picked up Scamp while Tramp picked up Colette as they were running to the cellar a flash of lightning struck a tree beside them causing a branch to fall off and sparks to hatch. They all made it to the cellar with bairly a scratch. Scamp was starting to get scared.
"I'm scared, Mom!" said Scamp, who then started to cry
"Shhhhh....shhhhh...it's ok...it's ok....I'm here I'm here" Lady said calmingly and wrapping her arms around Scamp and hugging him very tight. Lady was alone with Scamp in one room of the cellar and Tramp and the girls were in another room, Lady was sitting in a corner with Scamp's whole body and head wrapped around the arms and sleeves of her white hooded jacket, They could hear the sound of the tornado bearing right on top of them the cellar door then started to shake but it never got blown off the posts.
Suddenly the wind stopped all they could see now was lightning, hail, and rain coming from outside.
As soon as they exited the cellar is was just completely heartbreaking
Their house was blown to bits, The church that they go to down the street was split in half, cars on the I-10 freeway were blown and stacked up like building blocks. Their car, a blue 2007 Chevy Suburban, was flipped over, and telephone poles were down everywhere, and not to mention trees were blown down too.
"God why did you do this?!" Lady said angrily
Tramp came up and kissed Lady on the cheek "Don't worry Pidge, I'm sure we'll think of something." he said
Scamp and the girls started to cry and Scamp hugged Annette because she got devastating news that her friend, Fang, died in the tornado.
"Scamp, It's just not fair, I'm 6 years old and Iv'e lost my own boyfriend, why did he go?!" Annette said, she bursted into tears and ran off
"Annie, wait, Annie!" Lady said but Annette was gone
Lady then sat on a log blown over a shack and covered her face.
"This is just great!" She said in a muffled voice
"First, a tornado destroys our house, then our brand new car is damaged, now my own daughter runs off?!"
Lady started to weep but Tramp sat down beside her he then picked her up and kissed her on the lips
"Pidge wherever she is, I think the police will find her."
In the mean time, Annette had made it to the downtown Baton Rouge Area, when all of a sudden a Baton Rouge PD car. stopped in front of her two police officers came out to talk to her.
"Girl, what are you doing out here, you can't be out here by yourself." One officer said
"OK, take me back home." Annette said
They took her back to what once was her house where Lady and Tramp were waiting for her when she got out of the police car. She ran up to Lady and hugged
"Oh, Annette we were so worried about you." "I'm sorry I ran off mom, I was just upset." Annette said
"Hey Annie." Scamp said
"I know how you feel."
Annette then hugged Scamp, and her two other sisters, and she knew that her friend was up in heaven with Jesus. And there was a happy reunion.
Lady then picked up Annette, tickled her, and kissed her, no one could've ever been happier on a bad night like this
