Manik yawned He had just woken up. He stepped outside for a drink. Then he came back inside. Tuck, as always, was already awake, trying to wake Jip, who always likes to sleep in, up. Jip rolled on his back. Manik rolled his eyes. He walked over to Annette.

"Hey, Wake up, sleepy head." Annette's eyes fluttered open and she yawned. "Is Jip awake yet?" "Nope." Annette sighed. She walked over to Jip, and bit his tail. "Ye-OW!!" he shouted. "What the- Annette? What'd ya do that for??" Annette shrugged. "I got hungry." Jip cocked his head, confused. "She's been a street dog for too long." Manik chuckled. Jip nodded. "Ok, well then, I'll be back with some rabbit."  Jip left, and shortly after,  Drake emerged. "Mornin'." he said. Seconds later, Linka awoke, and the whole gang was awake.

"Whatcha wanna do today?" Tuck asked.  Drake looked at Tuck. "Actually, I was thinking you guys might wanna see the police station I used to live and where my dad worked-" Tuck coughed. "Jip? What do you have in mind?" Drake rolled his eyes. "Well, we could stop by Fang's gang. We've got nothin' else ta do."  Tuck nodded. "Gotta point there." when gettting everyone else's ok, they left.

They were in the streets when they spotted some people chasing a certain golden pup..... Fang!

"Fang?" The entire gang said in awe. The golden pup dropped a meat in front of them and kept running. Drake decided to follow him. The dog catchers realized they couldn't spot him any more, they looked at Tuck's gang. "Oh, well. Maybe next time. At least we get five other dogs." Without warning the dogcatchers caught the do gs and put them in cages... uh oh.

Fang cought his breath. His gang spotted him and rushed towards him. "Fang, where have you been?" Afghanna asked him. Fang smirked. "Worried 'bout me, Affy?" Afghanna growled. "Uh.. I mean Afghanna." Afghanna shook her head. "No, just making sure you didn't get into any trouble." Skip nodded. "It was my idea" Fang arched a brow. "Well, shorty, it's not like you don't get into trouble." Rose stepped in. "Well, yeah, but you cause more than Skip does, but it's a street dog thing." She said, defending Fang as usual. But of course Fang ignored her. "Stop calling me shorty!" Skip growled, ignoring her as well. Fang rolled his eyes. Then Drake found him.

"Fang?"  Oh, no.... "Uh, hey, Drake.." Drake growled. "What was with that?" "Uh... What?" Drake scowled. "YOU know! Dropping that meat when the dog catchers were chasing you!" Afghanna sighed. "Why am I not surprised." Fang shrugged. "I thought you were with them. They're prob'ly in the pound by now." Drake looked like he wanted to dive on Fang then and there. Fang sighed. "I wasn't thinking. I'm sorry, okay?" He normally didn't apalogize, but Drake was bigger and stronger than him, and for as much as he cared about his friends, Drake would kill somebody. It was his police blood. Drake smiled. "Now you gotta come help me save them, 'King of the Streets.'" Fang growled. Afghanna shoved him. "Fang! You got them into the mess, now fix it!"

Skip nodded, still scowling. "They are our friends, Fang. Now let's go." Fang sighed and nodded. "Fine." Rose nodded in agreement, and the five pups set off.

The pound wasn't that far away. About a five minute walk. When they got there Fang, as always, told them the plan. "Okay, there are five of us. Rose, Afghanna, you two stand guard, let us know if the dog catcher is coming. Skip, Drake, and I will pick the lock and bust them out. Understood?" Everyone nodded, so they got started.

Drake, Fang, and Skip snuck in, thankful that the dog catcher just left. Drake stepped in first looking for his friends. Thankfully, he put them in the same cage. "Psst! Guys! Over here!" Tuck and the others turned to face Drake, all happy to see him. Drake motioned to Skip and Fang over. Fang emerged over to pick the lock, not noticing the yelps and cries coming from Rose and Afghanna.

Fang was halfway done when a noise startled him. "Well, now, they're comin' to me!" Fang turned to see the dog catcher, holding Afghanna and Rose in his hands. "Fang! I'll hold him off! Pick the lock and get them outta here!" Drake shouted. Fang did so and ran out with the others. With one bite on the leg, Drake was able to get the dog catcher to let go of the girls, in which they ran out. "Well, you dumb shepherd!" He reached for his gun.

When Rose and Afghanna made it to where Fang and the others were, Fang asked, "Where's Drake?" As if on cue a big boom sounded.... a gun shot.

Drake lay down, pain emerging from his left leg. The dog catcher was about to shoot him again to finish him, when all of a sudden, Drake took the gun in his jaws and threw it, liming up, then knocked the dog catcher over, giving Drake enough time to limp away.

The shot had startled everyone, and they all knew it had come from the pound, all saddend. Then the heard a loud groan. Fang looked over "Drake?"  Drake nodded, a scowl on his face. "Yes, indeed the dumb shepherd is back. Ow..." Tuck noticed the bullet-mark on his leg. "Was that gunshot...?" Drake nodded. "Yes... it was. Terrific pain. Ow..." Annette seemed concerned. "Are you ok?" Drake nodded. "Yeah, but I don't think I can walk anymore." Tuck smirked. "Lemme help you." He let Drake climb on his back.

                                                                   -----------------------------------

                                                                           One Day later.....

Drake still had some pain in his leg, although most of it had gone away. That morning Fang stopped by to apologize to the rest of Tuck's gang. He seemed to feel bad about it. He acted cool, by saying, "Yeah, sorry 'bout yest'day. My bad. Guess I should watch who I blame it on." He didn't like to apologize much.

"Tuck. Don't you think we should have gone for the police station insted?" Tuck smiled and nodded. "Yeah, that might have been a better idea." Drake had that police dog instinct to protect his friends, and, well, he couldn't help it, even thought he wished he hadn't have gotten shot.

Annette and Manik had been by his side for a  while. When it came to friends, Annette was always there. Manik had realized a long time ago. And, wow, it was a long time since that time they met at Hollywood. How beautiful she looked when he first saw her, and she still didn't know he loved her. Then the eight weeks they spent together. When they got back and she told Lady and Tramp she wanted to stay with Manik. Living on the streets until they met Tuck and his gang, having all kinds of wacky adventures. He wanted to stay with her forever. Never leave her side.

                                   That just might happen............

                            THE END!

A/N: The story shall continue... Be patient. I enjoy writing these for you. Yes, this one was about Drake mostly, until the end, with a little bit of Manik's perspective on how he felt about Annette. What will the next series be? Hmm.... More about Manik and Annette! :) The story with Drake is he used to have a police dog for a father, and as a police dog, his dad protected the ones he loved. (Read Drake's Profile to find out more!) So, Drake protected his friends, or shall I say, the ones he loved, which led to being shot in the leg. Gotta love Drake! <3  I shall return!
