The Transformation
A Poem
It was rough at first, going through that change,
And yet I made it, all the same.
And even though I got picked on too many times to count,
I kept my head up.
And through the roughest of times,
I knew I had a certain bear to rely on.
Like a little brother, Koda was there.
To help keep my head up.
To even help me through.
It was strange, to be a bear.
Yet I kept going.
I showed no fear; and at the end,
I was respected, for my Transformation.
I was happy to share those memories,
And to have the expeirnce of being something wild.
I know I wouldn't change it for the world, this strange Transformation.
Many have changed before me.
But not as a bear, I've been told.
As an eagle, they say.
A brave one too.
But is a bear to be brave?
Or is a bear to be wise?
Is it to be both?
Or is it to be neither?
This Transformation has taken it's toll.
And for some it is bad,
But for me,
I could count it as good.
Living with the wild has been hard,
Instead of living with the humans; my tribe.
But I've learned to deal with it, anyway.
Because this is the way of the Transformation.
It was rough, at first, going through that change,
And yet I made it, all the same.
And even though I got picked on too many times to count,
I kept my head up.
Maybe this Transformation has affected by emotions.
Or maybe they have just stayed the same.
Either way, I'm not sure..As confusing as it gets.
I've learned to hunt as a fellow bear would do.
I've even forgotten to hunt with a spear,
A knife,
Or a bow and arrow.
My claws are my weapons.
My defenders.
And my protection.
My fangs have grown sharp,
And are not as feeble as a humans.
My throat has grown to the habbit of eating raw meat,
Not cooked as my fellow Indian's always have aten it.
I've learned to speak as a bear,
Yet long to talk just as a human would.
I've learned to keep my head up though,
No matter what my life throws at me.
Poem (c) Me. Character's such as Kenai (human and boy form..I guess, are (c) Disney.
Comments are apreaciatted, but not pushed. I know this is lame and very short for even a poem. Though I'm going to be working on a Series after this. Enjoy!
**Also : This poem is not a Hikui or a 'ryhming (sp?) poem'. It's a ..'free-style-like poem.' I don't think any of the words or sentences rhyme. But if you find any that do..I'm sorry. I'm not a big fan of poems that ryhme myself, so I don't blame you if you find them annoying aswell.
