Chapter 1
Bambi was having a bad day. Faline was yelling at him for losing Sam and Amy, when earlier that day Bambi went to his father's funeral. The day couldn't get any worse.
"It's all your fault!" Faline shouted at him. " I told you to keep an eye on them, now we have no idea where they are! I'm beside myself!" What if they don't come back? What will we do? How..." Faline was cut off as Amy and Sam walked into the den, rushing straight to their father.
"There, you see? I told that they would come back!" Bambi yelled back. "What do you think, they don't have legs? I've trained them to be the smartest fawns in the forest..."
"You've trained them?" Faline snorted. "Oh, so your the one who taught them to walk, your the one who taught them about the dangers of the meadow, your the one who kept them alive in the winter, and your the one who keeps them safe are you?"
"One," Bambi snapped. "they learnt how to walk themselves, two, I kept the meadow clear for you three, three, I was looking after all the deer in winter, not just you, and four, yes I do keep them safe I keep everyone safe! Did you have to put up with your mother being killed as a child? No. Did you have to have a father who nearly gave you away? No. Did you have to put up with being nearly killed multiple times as a kid so your life was a nightmare? Again, NO YOU DIDN'T!!!"
"That's it!" Shouted Faline. "I can't take this anymore. We are getting divorced and I'll take care of the kids."
So, the next morning, Bambi had them divorced and decided what to do with the children. Sam went with Bambi, and Amy went with Faline. Bambi was wrong. The day could get worse.
Thing's were no better with Ronno. His wife, Amanda, was arguing with Ronno about food. Rachel and George were hiding behind Ronno.
"Look, for the last time I went out looking for food!" Ronno shouted. "I did not abandon you to look after the kids, I went looking for food, heard the dogs, and tried to fight them off!"
"Alright, Ronno, I've had it up to here with your excuses, we're getting divorced!" Yelled Amanda. "You are not fit to be a parent."
So the same day, Bambi had to arrange another divorce and finally managed to figure out that Ronno should take care of the kids. This, thought Bambi, is going to be a long week.
Chapter 2
It had been a week since Bambi and Faline were separated, and Sam was starting to miss his older sister. He kept moaning to go visit her, but Bambi knew that if he gave way, he and Faline would argue. So he stood his ground. And he wouldn't budge.
Over the days, Ronno had started to think about Bambi. He had heard about the divorcement and started to get excited. Ronno remembered his childhood. His behavior had put off a lot of deer so he never had a true friend. He had never had a crush ether, until the day he met Bambi and Faline. Ronno had hoped to have a true friend when he saw Bambi, but then he hoped for more. He wanted Bambi all to himself, and was jealous of Faline. But they had gotten the wrong idea. They thought that he loved Faline. But he didn't. Ronno loved Bambi. All that showing off was to impress Bambi. When they were adults, Ronno had fought Bambi to take Faline to a place where he could kill her. It was all for Bambi all along. Ronno had one last chance to get Bambi. And he wasn't about to lose it. Ronno set off to find Bambi.
Bambi was starting to get lonely. He started to think about Ronno. Bambi had no choice. Ronno wouldn't get out of his mind. Bambi decided it was time to pay Ronno a visit. Bambi strolled passed the groundhog's burrow and remembered when he first met Ronno. He marched passed the porcupine's log and remembered when Ronno chased him. And Bambi walked up to where he and Faline had kissed as children, and remembered many things about Ronno. Giving up, Bambi sat down on the grass and watched his fawns play. Little did Bambi know that he was being watched.
Ronno was secretly watching Bambi from behind the bushes, and remembered Bambi's wedding. Ronno wasn't sure if he was invited, but went anyway, and hid at the back, plotting how to get rid of Faline. Until he saw how happy Bambi was. That warm, loving smile, Ronno just couldn't do it. If Faline made Bambi happy, then Ronno was prepared to leave them in peace and forget his plan. For Bambi. And for Bambi only. Ronno could still see him now, sat down, watching the fawns play, wait a minute, there wasn't any fawns at the wedding, so that couldn't be his eyes playing tricks on him, that was... BAMBI!
Bambi saw Ronno charge up to him and was forced to get up. Secretly, he was glad to see Ronno. Bambi didn't know why, he just was. He walked over to Ronno and smiled. Bambi could see that Ronno was excited to see him, too.
Ronno was eager to talk to Bambi for the first time in years. So eager, in fact, that for a few seconds he couldn't speak. But Ronno soon controlled his body. Nothing would stop him from leaving this place without Bambi all to himself.
"Hi Ronno!" Bambi shouted over to Ronno, still smiling. Ronno shouted "Hi" back and charged over to him even faster. They started talking about several things to catch up, when Ronno suddenly stopped. He needed a few moments to think about how to put his confession.
"Bambi," Ronno began, taking a deep breath. "What made you fall in love with Faline? I mean, something must have triggered it, and who would you get with? I mean, a prince needs a partner, right? Also, would you get with someone you knew?"
Bambi was a little curious at why Ronno would ask, but did ponder a bit at the first question. Why did he fall in love with Faline? Maybe it was that kiss. Just that one kiss. As children. It had messed with his brain, making him think that he loved Faline. But he didn't. It was false love. Fake love. The only question was, who did he really love, then?
"I don't know, Ronno." Bambi sighed. "I think it was the kiss as children that made me believe I loved her, and I probably would get with someone, though who I don't know, and I don't think I could get with someone I know, I only know Faline and you. I would probably have to find another doe..."
"Oh, OK." Ronno replied, sighing. He should have known. Bambi would never be his now. All of his dreams, gone, his hopes, crushed and destroyed before his very eyes. It was Faline. Faline. Ronno hated her with all of his heart. She had made Bambi like does. If she had just left him alone for a little longer as kids, Bambi would be Ronno's. And Ronno would have never let him go. If Ronno hadn't promised to himself that he wouldn't leave where he was without Bambi all to himself, he would have looked for Faline and killed her. And anyone else who stood in his way. But it was too late.
Bambi looked into Ronno's eyes and reflected back to his childhood. Looking back, even when Ronno was angry, the truth was all there in his eyes. So desperate to please him, so desperate to get Faline out of the way so he could keep Bambi all to himself. Bambi and Ronno may have grown older, but Bambi was still looking into the same eyes as when they were kids. Just so desperate. For Bambi. But it was impossible, Bambi knew that he had to find a doe. His father would never forgive Bambi if he fell in love with a stag. But his father was dead, there was nothing he could do to stop Bambi... Bambi was confused and frustrated with trying to figure out what to do. So, he just backed away into the shadows, taking Sam to watch over the meadow.
Chapter 3
At the meadow, Bambi scanned his eyes over the field when his eyes were drawn to something. There was a doe watching her fawn play. Bambi just had to hope that Faline didn't spot him. Bambi was concentrating so much on Faline that he didn't notice that crows began to fly over them until they began to cry. Bambi bounded over to the deer with Sam and got their attention. All around him there were fleeing animals so desperate to get to safety. Bambi also noticed Faline and Amy fleeing. Bambi checked to make sure there was no one else then rushed to get Faline, Sam and Amy to safety. Bambi managed to get the two fawns to safety, but a terrible shot rang out through the trees and landed on Faline's shoulder. They had got her. Bambi hadn't noticed, he was too far away to hear. But when he noticed that Faline was not with them, Bambi shooed his children into the den and charged back to the meadow. Man were busy with something, so Bambi had some time. Faline had managed to crawl to some nearby bushes where it would be harder to get her. Bambi rushed over to her. He knew that it was his job to protect all of the deer in the forest. Even Faline. Bambi had to check up on her, and nuzzled her before man found her. Faline was too weak to speak, so couldn't say anything until she had energy. Bambi could hear man march over to their hiding spot. Faline somehow managed to gain enough energy to lick his cheek. "Go." She croaked, managing to pin a smile on her face. Bambi fled into the bushes, and watched from there to see what would happen, being careful not to let anyone see him. Very soon, Bambi saw man put Faline into a sack and walk away. Before they left, one stuck a knife into the sack, and into Faline. Bambi heard her groan in pain, then heard nothing. He knew that they had killed her.
The last man was about to walk away when he spotted Bambi. When the man pointed his gun, Bambi fled. A terrible shot rang out, and man turned their attention to Bambi. The dogs ran after him, barking. Bambi led them to a place where he could fight them. Turning around, Bambi charged at them, knocking each one to the ground. Eventually, the dogs had enough, and ran back to man. Bambi had won, but his childhood friend he had lost.
News of Faline's death quickly spread, and does all over the land were excited. They wanted Bambi so that their children would be prince or princess. They also wanted to be queen of the forest, and Bambi was swarmed by does wherever he went. And, as Amy had no mother, Bambi's children saw everything that happened. Naturally, Sam wanted to be Bambi so that wherever he went he was mobbed by girls from all over the land, because he wasn't a stag who liked stags. Unlike Ronno who was still where he had last seen Bambi. He had heard that Faline was dead and, even though Ronno was delighted that Faline was dead, he was still jealous. Of all the other does. Any that entered the area where Ronno was he chased off. Most of them he had an intention to kill, because they were beautiful and pretty. And could win Bambi's heart. But Ronno's problem was that he could only eat from his area and drink from the nearby stream because of his promise. Even though it was summer, Ronno would have trouble surviving. Ronno was starving anyway, because he had to save some grass for another day. Yet, despite how weak he was getting, Ronno was still strong at the same time. Because Ronno was a fighter. And he wasn't going to give in. Not to dying, not to hunger, not to moving, not even to Bambi never being his. Not easily, anyway.
Bambi hadn't seen Ronno in over a week and started to worry. News of not only Faline's death had spread, but news of a grumpy stag who chased off any doe who came near him also spread throught the forest, and from the description, it sounded like Ronno. And the location was exactly where Bambi had last seen Ronno. Bambi needed to pay Ronno a visit, so he set off to find him, once again passing places that brought back memories, until at last Bambi found Ronno exactly where Bambi left him. Bambi gasped as he saw what Ronno was turning into. Ronno's legs looked like they were capable of snapping any second, his fur had become dull, his eyes lost their sparkle and his body had lost it's power. It looked like it was impossible for Ronno to stand up, let alone walk. If Ronno had spots instead of antlers, he would be mistaken for a weak newborn fawn.
"Ronno!" Bambi cried to his old rival, charging towards him. Bambi was upset at what he saw, and intended to stop it. There was no way Bambi was going to let Ronno do this. "What are you doing? What is going on? Hev you been here all week? What are you thinking?"
"Bambi," Ronno began, delighted to see Bambi once again. He was angry that Faline put Bambi's life in danger, and was glad to see that Bambi was alright. "When I came to look for you, I made a promise to myself not to leave where I found you if I didn't have you. I have always loved you, everything I did was for you. When I heard you would probably go for another doe, I knew I would have to spend the rest of my life here unless you changed your mind. I secretly came to your wedding and plotted on how to get rid of Faline. But then when I saw how happy you were I just couldn't do it. You must leave, now, before something goes wrong."
Bambi understood Ronno's reason, but there was no way that he could stay where he was. But Bambi couldn't be with a stag. On the other hand, Bambi was starting to get a feeling for Ronno... Bambi was so confused, so he once again backed into the shadows like last time, and watched Ronno turn away so that Bambi would not see how sad he was. But Bambi had only one thing on his mind: Ronno's doing this because of me. This is my fault.
Chapter 4
After a few weeks Bambi still hadn't found a new mate, and Ronno started to take over Bambi's mind. Bambi couldn't bear the thought of Ronno being alone, weak and defenseless all because of him, so he barely visited Ronno, until one day he couldn't take the torture, and sprinted to Ronno. He didn't even pay attention to his suroundings, he was so desperate to find Ronno.
"Hello Bambi." A voice came from beside him. Bambi turned and saw that Amanda was standing next to him. "What are you doing here?" She asked, stepping forward. Bambi backed away a little bit, and stood on a twig.
Ronno heard the twig snap and looked to see what was going on. He could see Amanda and Bambi backing up against a tree. Ronno began to get angry. How dare his ex-mate be so close to Bambi! Ronno reminded himself to kill her next time she entered his area.
Bambi explained why he had come to the area, and Amanda took another step towards him. Amanda wanted to be queen the most. Her children would be famous and she would go down in history. Amanda insisted that Bambi came with her, and licked his cheek to get her point across. Then she kissed him. Amanda loved it, but Bambi hated it. they could be friends but no more. But Bambi didn't have a choice, she was already leading him away from Ronno.
Ronno saw the kiss and his heart broke in two. Not only would he have lost Bambi, but Ronno lost him to the worlds most evil doe. He would never get Bambi now. By the time Bambi will have figured out her plan, it will be too late. Amanda was luring Bambi into a trap. She would make sure to win his heart then let him be killed. To bring her fame an fortune. Everyone would respect her, because she would have been Bambi's final love. Then Amanda would marry her real mate, Jonothan, and take over the forest. Ronno only knew this because he had over heard her talking to Jonothan about her plan. She had used Ronno to get closer to Bambi. And nothing would make her give up. To stop her, she had to be killed.
Bambi was grazing in the fields with Amanda when she started asking questions. She asked if he liked her or not. Amanda backed Bambi up against the tree. To make sure that she won his heart, she kissed him again, with more passion this time. Bambi started to kiss back, because he knew that if he didn't Amanda might... well, he didn't know what Amanda would do because she was just a doe, but he knew it wouldn't be good. She could easily knock him to the ground if she head-butted his shoulder. So instead of trying to retreat, Bambi kissed her back. Amanda loved Bambi's taste, but Bambi hated her taste. Although, he was starting to enjoy it...
Amanda smiled. With just one kiss she had won Bambi's heart. She just needed to build up their bond, then man would be ready to strike.
Ronno lay beside the stream crying for hours. With Amanda constantly sticking to him like glue, Ronno knew that Bambi would never get a chance to see him. Ronno just wanted to warn him...
Eventually Ronno cried himself to sleep. He saw Bambi and Amanda, kissing and playing. Ronno tried to talk to Bambi but Bambi wouldn't listen. Then dogs came and Amanda fled while Bambi was killed. Memories of them as kids flashed about in Ronno's mind, and he could hear Bambi calling for help. Suddenly the field was filled with light, and Ronno saw Faline. He ran up to her, longing for advice. "Ronno," She said gently. "you need to save Bambi. Don't let him go. When the time is right, you must leave where you are now." "Faline, your dead!" Ronno prosested "How can you be here? And when do I leave?" "You'll know." She smiled, and started to fade away. "When the time is right, you'll know. There is nothing I can do, but you can. Your the only one who can save your real true love." With that, Faline disappeared, and Ronno could see Bambi's mother. He ran up to her. "Ronno, please, you are the only one to save Bambi." She whispered in his ear. "You need to save him from Amanda." Then, Bambi's mother also disappeared into the light. Finally, Ronno saw his own mother, who walked up to him. "Ronno, you need to do as your heart tells you. Remember I'll always be with you. If you do those things, you can save Bambi, and he will be yours." She told him. The two other doe's appeared and stood next to his mother. Together, they told him: "Please Ronno, save Bambi. Please." Bambi's crys for help were still echoing around the field: "Ronno, help me!" Ronno followed the voice and found Bambi still being attacked by dogs. Ronno ran up to Bambi to save him...
Ronno woke up. It had only been a dream, but it had made Ronno feel even lonlier. He wanted to save Bambi so badly. But what could he do?
"Ronno?" Bambi's voice came from behind him. Ronno was relived that he could see Bambi one last time.
Ronno took a deep breath. "Bambi," He began. "There is something I need to tell you..."
Chapter 5
"For the last time, Amanda is evil!"
The explanation hadn't gone well. When Ronno had told Bambi about Amanda's plan, he got angry and claimed that she was innocent and that he had no proof. Ronno had told Bambi that he had over-heard her plan when she was talking to Jonothan and prosested that Bambi kept away from Amanda. Bambi, of course, was not pleased.
"Ronno, I keep telling you, Amanda is innocent, she is a doe. There is nothing evil about her. What can she do? Nothing, she won't hurt me. It's just beacuse your jealous." Bambi snapped. Ronno blushed.
"I'm just trying to keep you safe, Bambi." Ronno prosested, tears begining to prick his eyes. "I'm worried about you, I'm just trying to protect you."
"Well I don't need protecting!" Bambi shouted, but felf guilty at the same time. He didn't really want to hurt Ronno, but how could a doe threaten his life? "I've got antlers, and I'm old enough to look after myself. Now stop all of this stupid nonsense and go home. Are you trying to kill yourself?"
"I told you, I'm not leaving here without you..."
"Well then go ahead and starve! See if I care!" Bambi sprinted back into the forest, hiding his tears. He needed comfort, and wished that Faline was with him. No, he wanted Ronno, wait, what was he thinking? He needed a doe, not a stag!
Ronno started to feel more and more depressed. How could he save Bambi if Bambi wouldn't listen to him?Ronno fell asleep, and once again saw Faline. Ronno ran up to Faline. He needed advice. "What am I going to do, Faline?" He asked her, hoping that she would help him. "Bambi won't listen to me whenever I try to tell him that Amanda is evil. I don't know what to do." "Of course Bambi won't listen." Faline told him gently. "He doesn't understand. You must be patien. Wait for when the time is right. Bambi will be yours in a few weeks, don't worry." Then she disappeared into th light once again, leaving Ronno rushing to save Bambi...
"Bambi?" Bambi tuned around, and saw Faline. "Bambi, please, belive Ronno. Without him you won't survive, you need to be with him" "Faline?" Bambi whispered. "How is this possible? I thought you were dead?" "I am." Faline replied. "But I can communicate with you through dreams from heaven. If you don't belive him, you will soon be joining me. Bambi," Faline dropped onto her knees. "She killed me. Amanda arranged all of this with man to kill me. If you don't belive Ronno, the same will happen to you. I don't want you to suffer the same fate I had. I was a fool to not belive, I don't want you to not belive, too. Amanda and Jonothan are mans pets. they bring man deer, and in return man doesn't kill them. She just want's to be queen! Please Bambi, save yourself before it's too late." "What do you know? Your dead!" Prosested Bambi. He couldn't belive it. "Amanda didn't do any of that, stop talking like Ronno! Man would have killed her by now!" "OK, Bambi." Faline sighed. "Just do me one favour, let Ronno save you from Amanda." Faline faded away, and Bambi started being attacked by dogs. "Wait, Faline, come back, what do I need to be saved from? How can I be saved by Ronno? Help Me!" Then Ronno came charging towards Bambi...
Bambi woke up, panting and gasping. He looked over at Amanda. So calm, so sweet, so innocent, how could she be a threat? Bambi settled down and went back to sleep.
Chapter 6
Bambi and Amanda were grazing in the meadow, when she stopped and looked at him. She urged him towards the cliff Bambi had been trapped on as a kid, and stopped to talk to him. She asked him what he thought she was like. Bambi simply replied sweet, kind, funny, and a good guy.
"Oh, Bambi, how stupid and inobservant you are." She smirked, and knocked him to the ground by butting his shoulder. The sound of dogs barking came from behind them. "Right on time."
The dogs started to chase after Bambi. Amanda just stood at the side. When the dogs looked at her, she just fled. The dogs seemed to be scared of her, which is why Bambi was angry. Amanda could have saved him, but instead she just left him. What Ronno had said now made sense. Amanda is evil. Bambi didn't even get to say goodbye.
Ronno sensed that something was wrong. He could hear Bambi screaming. Ronno sprinted to do what he had to do. Ronno remembered what Faline had said. When the time is right, you'll know.
The dogs had managed to cling onto Bambi's antlers, and Bambi tried to shake them off but, while doing this, some of his antlers broke off. Most of them were dead, but the last few were to strong for Bambi. They were going to kill him. Then Ronno came in.
Ronno charged at the dogs, killing them one by one, until the last dog stood infront of Bambi, about to kill him. But Ronno Jumped infront of Bambi and kicked the dog. Hard. It fell to the ground, dead. Bambi looked at Ronno, with wonder in his eyes. Bambi kissed Ronno on the lips. Ronno was surprised at firt, but then he remembered what he had promised, to not leave his area unless Bambi was his. And now that he had left. Bambi was his. So Ronno started to kiss back.
A few years later, Bambi gave birth to six fawns, Rocky, Blade, Roxanne, Blaze, Ember and Sapphire. Bambi was finally happy. He knew that at long last, he had found his real true love.
