Asante, Tumaini and Kya (C) MLW

Cervola, Sterk and Poza (C) Faline lover

But it would apper Vertrou was mistaken, the cry was actually Swift tail announcing something.

" All you deer will become part of my new herd, any deer that disagrees can make their own herd!" Half of the deer walked over to Swift tails side. The other half stood defiantly.

" We will be rival herds!" Ronno yelled, for he wanted to be the leader of the other herd,as there was none, not join it.

Swift tail nodded, then both " herds" went their separate ways.

Whilst nearing their new territory,  Ronno claimed himself leader.

" Wait! You need a proper leader, not a half crazed power-starved buck like yourself!" Another buck called through the crowds. All the deer turned to look.

" And you are?" Ronno asked.

" Trotzen. And I think I should be leader."

" What authority do you have?"

" Oh I know many things, even about the other side, I can act like a double spy if you allow me to be leader"

The other deer agreed this was an excellent plan and made Trotzen new leader of their herd. But Ronno was still jealous of Trotzen.

" I'll be a double spy .... For Swift tail that is" He smirked, and crept under the bushes and headed towards Swift tails new herd.

Asante and Tumani were grazing near a small field when Tricheur saw a new opportunity.

" Hiya Asante!" He said.

" Who's this?" Tumaini turned, looking at the advancing deer.

" Tricheur, another Vita deer" Asante did not look the slightest bit interested.

" Vita deer?" Tumaini stopped his threat.

Tricheur looked at the two deer.

" So this is your brother Tumaini?" He asked Asante.

" Yes" She said, wondering how Tricheur knew her brothers name. He seems trustworthy. Tumaini thought, maybe I can go and meet some other does.

" I'm going to the meadow, I'll leave you alone" He said, and walked off.

" Shy?" Tricheur asked.

" Not really" Asante said. It wasn't until this point, that she noticed how similar she was to Tricheur, except he had more red deer in him, and had no fallow deer spots.

" Can I ask you something?" He asked.

" Shoot " Asante didn't feel nervous, in fact, Tricheur seemed quite handsome.

" Do you like me?" He asked.

Asante sighed. Maybe she did.

" Yes" She said. Inside Tricheur laughed.

" Come, I want to show you something" Tricheur smiled, pointing towards the open meadow in the horizon.

The new gang of vita deer slowly walked towards Trotzen's herd. There was a doe, Cervola, her mate Sterk and their fawn Poza. The three were tired, and need a place to stay and rest. Cervola noticed the herd had white tails, silver backed deer, but there was no other vita deer there, but she herd some gossip about three being here, just not in this herd.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Trotzen looked at the moon. He must also be also be looking at it, thinking the same thing. Trotzen recalled the most humiliating experience ever, when the moon was full, just like this night. A doe from the herd, Palugit noticed him staring at the moon. I miss you, where did I go so wrong? She thought, for she also was remembering her twin, that had also embarrassed her on a full moon like this. No one else feels my pain. Both the  white tails thought.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

8 months later

Asante bit her bottom lip. She had to tell her brother. After all she had been through, another one of her kind would leave her, and her fawn was not even born yet.

" Yes?" Tumaini asked, seeing his sister looking so anxious.

" You know Tricheur?"

"Yes"

" I need to talk to you about him. "

After she had finished, her brother stood there gawping.

" I'll sort him out" He offered, and started to make his way towards the open entrance. But Asante felt a kicking, and knew her fawn was about to be born. Limping, she made her way towards the thicket. Tumaini tried to follow, but Asante snapped at him. Tumaini understood from previous experiences, and turned and left. After a few minutes, he walked back to see Asante lying down, licking her new borns fur dry. Although she was reluctant, Asante let her brother near the fawn, which she was thinking of a name. She looked into the sky, were the stars shone bright and clear.

" What's her name?" Tumaini asked.

" I like .... Kya" Asante decided.

Meanwhile, Tricheur smirked, another heart broken.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

" Father"

" Son"

Vertrou looked into Kangelanes eyes.

" You've changed, I see it in your heart" Kangelane spat.

" You've also let yourself go father" Vertrou narrowed his eyes.

" Listen, your daughter, older one" He added, as Vertrou looked at the new born Sanft. " She has something of mine, and I can have it through force ( If she's hiding it)I can send my new recruit, Or I can get it cleanly. So does she have it?" Kangelane asked.

" She doe, but she went out looking for you, trying to return it!" Lojalis confessed.

" Then we'll do this, and I will have that POWDER!" Kangelane shouted, and a lightning bolt struck behind him, illuminating his ghostly features.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sanft stood, mouth wide open, nearly dropping the powder.

" War?" She asked.

" Soon, not yet, but feuds have started" Chestnut admitted. Upon turning around, Kangelane appred in the middle of the den.

" Who the he...." Chestnut began.

" I missed that detail out" Sanft blushed.

" Well, It appers you have the powder, and therefore are no further use to me" He sighed.

" Minions, dispose of her and her friend" And with that, Kangelane disappeared.

Several creatures suddenly appeared in the room. They were deer like, but with strange wings, and glowing eyes. There also happened to be holes in the creatures skins.

" Why didn't he just send these ugly beasts?" Sanft asked.

" Speaking of ugly, stand back, before this fight gets ugly!" Chestnut raised his hoofs, and charged at the nearest creature.

" Chestnut NOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Sanft tried to warn him, but Chestnut had gone through a energy source, that made him collapse. Now she was alone mentally. Sanft closed her eyes, willing to go back in time, back pass the day she arrived in the forest she saw a buck enter the den, a whitetail.... Then she blacked out.

Sanft awoke in the den, were the whitetail looked into her eyes. Sanft tried to get up.

" Rest, your friend is safe" The buck said.

" Please, what's your name?" Sanft asked. The buck smiled.

" It's Swift tail, and I need your help"

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Meanwhile, Nocere, Lojalis, Vertrou and Bukuri in Trotzens herd were wondering what had become of Sanft, since none of them were aware of Chestnuts presence.

" Why are you up? You must rest like everyone else" Trotzen demaned genitally, for he was a kind buck, not a trickster like Swift tail, in fact Trotzen and Swift tails personalities clashed horribly, not surprising they would never be able to get along. Rest sounded good, so the deer took up his advice. Whilst taking a long look at his forest, Palugit corned him and asked a question that sounded familiar.

" Why are you up? You must rest like everyone else" Trotzen turned, surprised.

" Oh, It's just you .... a doe" Trotzen blushed.

" Sorry I'm shy around does, never talked to one properly" Trotzens face went scarlet.

" My names Palugit" She chucked, seeing the herd leader so embarrassed.

" Hi ... Palugit" The two deer watched the meadow until Palugit noticed movement near the meadow.

" New deer, group of three, after all this" She sighed.

" And leaving deer" Trotzen noticed another group of three deer heading towards the exit. The retreating deer backing from both herds, the new deer coming towards Trotzens herd.

" I'll go and meet them" Palugit decided. " Get some rest ." She smiled.

" Yeah" Trotzen said, and went back in the den, not saying good bye to Palugit.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

" Halt! Who are you and what do you want?" Palugit asked. The three deer stopped.

" My names Cervola, this is my husband Sterk, and our fawn Poza" Cerlova seemed tired.

" Rest tonight, Trotzen will see you tomorrow" Palugit yawed. The Vita deer thought this sounded good, and needed a place to stay anyway.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Couper tried to pull her horns through the bars of the cage she was stuck in.

" There's no point in doing that, your stuck here" Her cage mate a fallow deer called Luid was trying to get to sleep. Couper pulled a face behind his back.

" I'm getting out!" She yelled, and with a new determination in her eyes, she pulled back as hard as she could, and then pushed forwards with all her energy. The bars of her cage came off, but Couper was still stuck with them around he neck. Luid woke up, and stared at her, his mouth dropping open.

" Ya coming?" She asked. Luid nodded. Together, the two ran out the door, narrowly missing the scientists. Just as they left the building, the loose animals alarm went off, and Couper and Luid had to scarper. After hours of traveling, the twosome reached a dark forest. It looked more scary than welcoming, but the sound of hounds in the distance jolted all fears from the two. but now the easiness of the mission wore off, for the two reached a fast flowing river, and neither wanted to cross. In the middle of the river, a small duck was huddling up against a rock. It was clear that his family had been swept up by the river. Luid and Couper wanted to help. Couper thought she would have a better chance of survival if she went, for her legs were strong, like sheep and goats. Short. but used to traveling up hills and crossing rivers. For part of it, Couper was right, and she reached the duckling. The hard part was going to be getting the duck a new family. Couper persuaded the duck to climb onto her back, then made it safely across the water to the other side. The wrong side. Couper as tired, and had not the energy to get back across to Luid. So Luid decided to go across to Couper. Luid decided his best chance was to run across. Better not. He thought. Perhaps he could jump across the stones. It was worth a try. Luid jumped from stone to stone. But a lighting bolt struck the night sky, and Luid lost his concentration for a second, a second too long. In that second, Luid slipped off the rock and into the dark waters. He tried to struggle, but it was pointless. The current was too strong. It picked him up and threw him oer the edge. Down towards the bottem. Couper left the duck on shore and dived in after her best friend, but she too was swept over the edge.

When she opened her eyes, she couldn't see Luid. She looked for him, but her eyesight was fuzzy. She shook her head. But It wasn't working. She suddenly realized the awful truth after nothing had worked. She was half blind. However, with her good eye, she still attempted to look for Luid. She staggered onto the lege, one of her legs had a nasty gash that went deep. She called for her friend. No answer. But she saw him near the edge of the stream, and ran to him, ignoring the shearing pain and blindness. Later, she would never speak again, for the still body of her friend was to blame.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Luid opened his eyes. The world was black, lit by a lantern, with two doors, one red with flames, one gold with clouds.  He was in the passway before enerting Hearn, hell or purgatory, and 3 large bucks tood in front of him. Oneof the large bucks was white with bright white wings with gold tips was looking at him, two large antlers with a gold ring shing in them, all the perfects of the world reflecting in its beam. An angle. The other buck was violently red, the colour of blood. His antlers were shaped like a devils trident, with may points, and each point reflected war and murder and ect. A devil. The last buck was black with glowing black eyes. His antlers were larger than any buck ever known. He was not solid, and seemed to swirl round his own figure. Death. Death turned and walked away.  Luid started shaking.

" You might as well come with me" The devil pointed towards hell. His voice sounded like the crackling fires of a bonfire, as do all devils.

" He has done nothing wrong, and he may not go to any of these places" The angel spoke up. The angels voice sounded like many songbirds singing a sweet melody. The devil was confused.

" He may be brought back to life, but only if he chooses. Otherwise he will go to heaven" The angle looked sharply at the devil. "

" Do you choose to go to earth and help your your friend? Or stay in heaven, and leave your friend, only helping her in spirit form?" The Angle asked.

Luid gulped. Help his life long friend in death threating situations down on earth. Or go to heaven and help in spirit form? If he stayed alive, then died again, he might be stuck in nowhere, not even hell. And heavens' gates looked so inviting. Only one chance, and he could not make the wrong disision.
