Z-Days (The Beginning)
My name is Balto Terwell and I’m a Colonel in the U.S. Military I’d have to say I lived an ordinary life that is until the day that changed the world forever. Until that day we used to walk the streets without fear. Now the dead rule, these lifeless flesh craving monsters wonder the streets. I can’t say I didn’t see this coming I knew it would happen one day. I’m sure you don’t know what I’m talking about so I’ll tell you my story the story of how this all came to be.
It would all start with the discovery of a virus a virus the CDC would name ZV-88 but was know as the Zombie virus. Dr. Lora Ravenwood of the CDC accidentally discovered the virus. She created it while looking for a cure to another deadly virus sweeping across Africa. She had infected a rat with the African virus and then injected with a cure she made. The rat died but then shortly after came back to life and had become very violent. Ravenwood and the CDC they went on to inform the U.S. government and that’s where I came in. The president put the virus into my care and I decided to put the virus into Bio-chemical cold storage with heavy security. I would learn though that it wasn’t those who were trying to steal it that I’d have to worry but those who had permission to take it and that is where my story begins.
The Pentagon January 4, 2012
Office of Colonel Balto Terwell
The sun cast it’s light through the shades and into the office casting the shadow of a tall muscular man. He walked around the office his green U.S. Army uniform covered with the decorations of his career in the army and the silver eagles on both his shoulder distinguishing his rank. He had a clear worry about him that if you even paid attention to him for a split second you could clearly tell something was wrong. The phone then began to ring on his desk; he stopped and slowly moved to answer.
This is Colonel Terwell
Colonel this is General Grant came the reply
Balto worked his way around the desk and sat down in the chair and listened to what the General had to say. Then Balto eyes widened and he shot out of his chair.
Sir they can’t be serious on approving the CDC testing request can they it’s to dangerous I will not let them take the container out of cold storage…….
Balto was then cut off by the General shouting over the phone he stopped and listened he slowly lowered himself back into his chair.
Balto hung his head and sighed, Yes sir I will see to it he replied
He hung up the phone and continued to hang his head and rubbing his eyes. What are they thinking he said to himself but then he raised his head and there was anger in his eyes. He picked up the phone and dialed in some numbers, Lt. Lowmen bring a Humvee around to the front and get two men were going to cold storage. He slammed down the phone and he jumped out of his chair he threw on his over coat and hat and left the office.
He walked out of the building and to a waiting humvee with a soldier waiting in front of it the man saluted and so did Balto.
Lieutenant is everything ready
Yes sir he replied
Good then lets go said Balto
They both got into the humvee and they took off, they went speeding through the streets and over the Potomac into downtown D.C. They continued through the streets until they stopped in front of a building with a sign that said CDC Capital Offices and Chemical Storage. The four men got out of the humvee and headed into the lobby of the building. They stormed through the lobby and turned a corner and started down a long hallway at the end an elevator and there was a woman standing in front of it. She stood there her slim but well built figure in a blue Air force uniform with the decorations of missions on it and the silver wings on her chest that indicated her as a pilot. Balto took notice of her and walk right up to her, Captain what are you doing here he said.
It’s Major now Colonel I just haven’t gotten my Oak leafs and Colonel were the armed escorts necessary she replied
Balto glared at her and raised his voice, Jenna what are you doing here
Easy big boy I’m here for the same reason you are I’m going to be flying that thing all the way to the CDC in Atlanta with a Ranger escort she replied
Are they down there now said Balto
There taking it out of the vault as we speak
Ok then, Balto turned to Lt. Lowmen, Captain you and these men stay here and watch this elevator no one comes out with that container without me got it
Yes sir he replied
Balto then pressed the button on the wall and the elevator doors opened and he and Jenna got on Balto press B25 and the doors closed. Balto then turned to Jenna
How long have you been back from Afghanistan he said?
I meant to call you but I’ve been caught up in this mess ever sense I got back she replied
Balto then embraced her and said, I’m glad you made it back alright, she returned the embrace and replied, It’s good to be back her in your arms. The two of them kissed and then were interrupted by the elevator pinging. They pulled apart and then the doors opened to a mirrored hallway and at the end were two steel doors and on either side was an armed guard. The two got out of the elevator and started down the hallway and got half way when they were stopped by a voice.
Ok stop there and pull out your ID’s and hold them up and prepare for full body scan
They both pulled out there ID cards and held them up and then the hallway went dark and then a red laser came on. It scanned them both from top to bottom and then back up again then the lights came back on and then the voice again. “Ok Colonel, Major your clear please continue through the doors the others are waiting”. They continued down the hall and the guards saluted and the steel doors slid open. They walked into a vault like room with safety deposit boxes on the walls and the biohazard symbol was everywhere. They continued through the room and came to another steel door with the words Maximum Containment and a massive biohazard symbol on it. Next to it was a keypad Balto entered some numbers and the door opened to the back of a suited man. The room was white and in the middle of the room was a containment chamber with the container in it. The suited man then turned to the sound of the door opening.
Ah Colonel good to see you again said the man
Balto glared at the man, It’s good to see you too Mr. Turner
Let me ask you Colonel did you really think I wouldn’t be able to get my hands on it he said
Well I was doing a good job until you went over my head Balto replied
That’s what it took to get my hands on it sense you weren’t playing ball
The two of them turned and watched as two men in bio suits took the container out and into a metal crate. Then Mr. Turner turned to Balto and said “And now look I have my hands on it”. Mr. Turner started to laugh and Balto anger boiled over.
I won’t stand here and take this Balto yelled
Balto then pulled out his side arm and grabbed Mr. Turner and put the gun to his head everyone in the room took a step back and then the two guards came in. They pointed their rifles at Balto as he held his pistol to Turners head.
Let me tell you something Turner you’re putting the world at risk and your laughing, that virus can destroy this country and then the world and all because you wanted to do some testing
Jenna slowly moved forward and grabbed Balto’s gun
Balto this is not the right way to handle this put it down you can vent your anger another way Balto listen to me give me the gun she said
The anger and aggression in Balto’s eyes went away and he loosed his grip and Jenna took the gun out of his hand and Balto let go of Mr. Turner
Mr. Turner breathed a sigh relief “Thank you Mrs. Terwell
Then Balto gripped Mr. Turner again and slammed him up against a wall
Turner don’t say I didn’t warn you about the danger of this if anything happens it’s on your head said Balto sharply
Balto let go and turned and left the room and Jenna went to follow when she heard Mr. Turner.
You need to control your husband Major Terwell he shouted
Jenna glared at him, You watch yourself Turner next time I won’t stop him she replied and stormed out
Jenna caught Balto at the elevator and stepped in and the doors closed behind her
Was all that called for back there she said sharply
Yes because if those fools make a mistake with that the whole world as we know it is going to hell he replied
I see but the rangers and me will be watching it the entire time they have it and we will not let anything happen
Yeah maybe you right maybe I just over reacted he said
O no I thought you were handling it very well she said
Ha don’t be a smart ass he replied
Sorry I couldn’t help myself
The doors then opened and the two stepped out and Lowmen and the two other saluted them.
You three walk with us said Balto, and then they started down the hall
Lt I want you and these two to go with the container watch it until it leaves tomorrow said Balto
Yes sir will be on it replied Lowmen, Balto and Jenna continued into the lobby and out of the building
I don’t suppose you drove said Balto
O yeah I parked on the side she replied
They walked around the building and into the side parking lot and Balto stopped in his tracks and his eye’s widened
Where in the world did you get this he said?
In front of him was a 1966 Chevelle SS it was all blacked out and it had two white stripes going down the middle of it. The classic muscle car presented itself with a shine and somewhat of an attractiveness. Jenna opened the door and leaned on the car presenting herself along with the car.
O this I won this beauty off my base commander in a poker game and lets say he was less then happy about it replied Jenna
Wow Balto said to himself
Well big boy you just going to stand there and stare or you going to get in she said
Balto ginned “Yeah” he replied
Balto and Jenna got in and she started the car it started with a rowr and then Jenna looked over at Balto.
Shall we see what she can do said Jenna
Be my guest replied Balto
Jenna hit the gas and then threw the car into first and they took off in a cloud of smoke and out of the parking lot and down the street they went. Later that day they pulled in to the driveway of their house and they both got out.
I hope you can fly better then you drive said Balto
O I think I have it covered replied Jenna
Jenna walked over to Balto and then turned and stared at the house and Balto looked at her and then the house.
Did you miss it he said?
Yeah it’s just as I left it she replied
What did you expect me to burn it to the ground
Well sort of she replied
O well thanks
Jenna laughed and then looked at Balto and then embraced him Balto was surprised but then returned the embrace. She then looked up at Balto and he noticed the tears in her eyes.
Jenna what’s wrong
She turned her head away but Balto turned her head back.
Jenna please tell me he said
It’s just that I was so alone over there and I missed you so much she replied
Balto wiped the tears out of her eyes and smiled
Well you won’t be alone you’re here with me
Jenna looked up at Balto with the relieved look about her like with that one comment the weight of all her troubles had been lifted. The love Jenna hadn’t felt in many months came back and she held Balto tighter. Balto felt this and held her closer, the love he felt for her was strong. The two embraced each other tightly not daring to let go of one another. They then looked at each other and the love and emotion they had for one another flowed into the others eyes. They moved closer to each other and closer until there lips met and the love, emotions everything flowed out of them. To them that moment could go on forever the two of them sharing their love for one another. They were interrupted by Balto’s cell phone ringing he took it out of his pocket and looked at it.
Balto sighed It’s the General he said
O I see you should answer it she said as she hung her head in disappointment
Balto looked at her then his cell then her again
No Balto said
Jenna looked up at him in surprise
No not tonight he said
Balto closed his phone and threw it to the side and got up next to Jenna and pulled her in and kissed her. Jenna was surprised but then returned it Balto then pulled away and picked up Jenna in his arms.
Tonight I’m all yours and your all mine he said
Jenna giggled Sounds like a plan to me she replied
They kissed one more time and then Balto carried her into the house and closed the door behind him
January 5, 2012
Balto woke up with Jenna in his arms next to him his mind went to the actions of last night and a smile came across his face. He then looked over at the clock and it said 8:17 he turned and looked out the window. The sun came in and hit his eyes he covered then and then yawned. He then noticed that his moving had awakened Jenna she got up and then laid herself on top of him.
Morning Sweat heart he said
Morning Big boy she replied
The two kissed and then Jenna grinned at him
What he said
You want to go another round she said
Balto smiled and sat up with Jenna still in his lap, I’d love too but we have to get ready for work we have a lot to do he replied. Jenna hung her head and put on a sad face to see if that would convice him.
Balto smiled, But I would be happy to do that when you get back from Atlanta ok he said
Jenna smiled and the two embraced and then kissed and then Jenna got out of bed exposing herself. She walked to the other side of the room to a dresser and started digging through it. Balto couldn’t help but stare at her beautiful body and look over her with a smile. He was snapped out of it by his cell phone ringing he bent over and got it off the nightstand and answered it.
Colonel Terwell he said
While Balto was on the phone Jenna slipped on a pair of underwear and a shirt and then went over and sat on the bed. Balto then closed his phone and put it back down on the table and starched.
Well who was that she said
The General your flight is to take off at 10:30 this morning he replied
Balto got up off the bed “Well let’s get clean and go” he said; he walked over to the bathroom door. Then he felt Jenna push him in
Well I’m not done with you just yet she said, Balto laughed as she closed the door behind her.
Andrews Air Force Base
10:00 a.m
They drove up to the gate of the base, which was flanked, on both sides by machine gun nests. Balto and Jenna showed their ID’s to the man at the gate and they drove through.
Is all this security need Balto said Jenna
Yes it’s a show of force there’s a lot of bad people who know of the container and they know were moving it he replied
It looks like you have everything cover she said
O yes snipers in the towers, machine gun nests at all entry points and five tanks on stand by if anything happens he replied
They drove down the airfield to a hanger at the end where the transport plane was waiting. They drove into the hanger that was being guarded by two tanks and stopped and got out. Then another car drove into the hanger and out of it came a muscular man in the same uniform as Balto but he had four silver stars on both shoulders and on his hip a revolver. Both Balto and Jenna walked up to him and saluted and he saluted back.
General Moore I wasn’t expecting you I thought General Grant had control over this matter said Balto
No it was tranfered to me and I thought I would come down and check on things he replied
Thank You sir said Balto
Major we have a last minute change for you Mr. Turner wants to be with the container during transport so he and his staff will be joining you on this flight
Yes sir she replied
We’ll be loading the container here shortly so Major if you want to go ahead and board will get this horror show on the road said the General
With that Jenna saluted and went and got onboard the transport. Balto and the General turned to see the container rolling out of the hanger and to the plane and on either side of it was a row of Ranger’s.
Why didn’t we destroy it Colonel said the General
I don’t know sir I don’t know Balto replied
They watched as it was loaded onto the plane and then the Ranger’s got onboard with it. Then from behind them came a voice
Ah Colonel good to see you again
They both turned to see Mr. Turner and his staff
I’m surprised the General let you out here after yesterdays little incident he said
Balto was getting ready to say something but was stopped by the General
Now listen here Turner I’m not happy about giving you the container either I would have acted the same way now I’m not going to stand here and let you talk to the Colonel like that. Now if it were up to me I would take this .44 of mine and put a bullet in your weasley head and destroy that container. Now I want you to get on that plane before we have a problem said the General
Mr. Turner just grunted and then boarded the plane with his staff
I really don’t like that guy said Balto
I don’t think he has made any friends getting to where he is replied the General
They walked over to a humvee as the doors to the plane shut and the engines started and taxied to the start of the runway.
Think you girl has everything covered from here asked the General
I believe she can handle what ever comes her way Balto replied
They watched as the plane took off down the runway and went off into the air
Is everything down south ready said the General
Yes all security is in place for their arrival Balto replied
Good Good said the General
The two got into the humvee and drove off as the plane disappeared into the sky
Outside Atlanta
Later that day
This is Sierra Transport 113 to Dobbins Air Force Base requesting permission to land said Jenna over the COM
Sierra Transport 113 this is Dobbins tower permission granted on runway 56
Jenna nodded to her co-pilot Lets get them strapped in back there we have wind coming from the west it might be a bumpy landing she said
The co-pilot got on the COM and told them to strap in and then he strapped his own
All right hold her steady, engage landing gear Jenna said
The man flipped a switch on the panel and a light began to blink
Landing gear engage he said
Good now hold her steady lets bring her down nice and smooth
They came into view of the airbase runway and they started down fast as the wind pushed the nose off a bit. The two pushed the plane down until the wheels touched down with a sudden jerk and then they started to slow until they came to a stop at the end of the runway. They then taxied over to a hanger and the doors to it began to open.
Tower, Sierra Transport 113 commence with phase two for 113 over
Roger 113 phase two transport on it’s way to the end of runway 56
A small tow car then came out of the hanger and hooked up to the plane and towed it into the hanger.
Jenna took the headset off and undid her strap she motion her co-pilot good job and then headed for the cargo bay. She entered the cargo bay to see everyone already up and moving around.
All right phase two transport is on its way Ranger’s get ready to move she said
The Ranger’s gathered around the container and then Jenna pulled a switch on the wall and the ramp started to lower. She then walked up to Mr. Turner
Turner how was your flight she said
Good enough he replied
Now what helipad will I be landing at she asked
Helipad 3 on top of the research building and once you land take the elevator down to level 6 and take the container into lab 115 Dr. RavenWood will be waiting for you he replied
Thank you Mr. Turner will see you there she said
Jenna walked over to the now down ramp and she looked out as a Super Stallion transport helicopter landed outside
All right boys get that container and your butts on that copper she yelled
The Ranger’s marched out of the plane and over to the Super Stallion they lifted the container into it and then themselves. Jenna walked over to the pilot’s side door and out hopped the pilot.
Do you mind if I borrow your bird she yelled
Please go right ahead don’t scratch her up the pilot yelled back
Jenna hopped into the pilots seat and strapped in and put on the headset and spoke into it again.
This is Super Six One Five ready for phase two transports she said
Dobbins Tower your clear to go have a good day Super Six One Five
With that Jenna threw the engine into full power and they bird started to take off into the air. She got up over the base and then flew over the outer suburbs of Atlanta and then over Atlanta airport and then she took the bird high she got into the high-rise buildings of downtown. Jenna then turned and yelled “ETA five minutes” she then went back to going in an out of the skyscrapers. She flew around the last one and the massive CDC complex came into view. It was like it’s own little city surrounded by a 20-foot tall decretive wall with security points at all the entry points. Jenna flew around it and noticed people crowding the complex she turned over to he co-pilot.
Hey what’s with all the people she yelled?
Their protesters they think were transporting some kind of super Bio-chemical weapon he replied
Jenna turned back to the controls and said to herself “Their kind of right”
She flew around the complex again and found the helipad and started down slowly and then touched down. She took off her headset and unstrapped herself and climbed into the back of the bird that was full of fully armed soldiers. She pulled a lever on the wall and the ramp in the back opened.
All right boys lets get this thing downstairs she yelled
Jenna and the Rangers get off the helicopter with the container and went over to the frate elevator that was off the helipad. Jenna hit the bottom and the doors opened and she and the Rangers got in and she hit the button and the doors closed and the lift started down. The lift went down for about a minute or two and then the elevator opened to a women that was waiting for them. The women was a little more then five foot tall and had black hair and wore a purple top that did well to show off her figure along with that was black jeans and heels and on top of it all was a whit lab coat with the CDC logo and her name Dr. Ravenwood on it.
Finally you’re here she said
Jenna stepped forward “Nice to meet you Dr. Ravenwood
Nice to meet you too and you brought the container tell the boys here to bring it into the lab we need to get it into the containment chamber she replied
Jenna and the Rangers followed the doctor down the hall to a pair of glass doors with a large biohazard symbol on it
All right masks on from this point on said Ravenwood
The Rangers got out their masks out and they all put them on and then Ravenwood gave Jenna one and they put on theirs. Ravenwood then pushed a button next to the door and they came open they walked in and then they saw a pillar rise out of the floor.
All right boys if you could put that down and open it and then put the chamber inside on that pillar we’ll be done here said Ravenwood
The Rangers put the container down and then opened it then two of them grabbed the smaller cylinder container out of it. They moved it over to the pillar and they easily put it on it
Thank you gentlemen she said
She then pushed a button on the pillar and a glass cover came down out of the ceiling a covered it. She then flipped another switch and the chamber filled with a fog and Jenna looked over a Ravenwood
Disinfectant she said
The chamber then cleared of the fog and then a light on the pillar turned green.
Good were all set here she said
They all walked out of the lab and Ravenwood shut and locked the doors and then they all took off their masks.
Doctor the Rangers and me will be guarding the lab the entire time the container is here said Jenna
That’s ok with me you guys can stay down in the bunkroom down the hall and the locker rooms are down the hall a little farther we would use them for extended stay’s here at the lab but please make yourself comfortable replied Ravenwood
Thank you Doctor said Jenna
Ravenwood then turned went down the hall and into the elevator and then the doors closed. Jenna then turned to her men “Alright I want a strict watch two men on the elevator and two on the lab switch out every two hours I need four for first shift lets go”. Four men stepped forward and they went to their spots and Jenna went to the elevator and pressed the button and the doors opened to Mr. Turner and another man with a cart full of duffel bags.
Mrs. Terwell we brought their things he said
O yes there down the hall in the bunkroom she replied
The man with the cart got off and then Jenna got on and then Turner pressed ten on the panel.
What’s up on ten she asked?
We’ve set up a private room for you Mrs. Terwell you can thank your husband for that he said
Umm thank you Mr. Turner
Like I said thank your husband he talked me into it I believe his words were give her a room or I’ll rip your head off he replied
Jenna laughed to herself a little and then regained herself
Mr. Turner I wanted to ask you about the current status of the security here at the CDC she asked
Mrs. Terwell I can assure you are security has everything covered, they’re on high alert with the container and the stupid protesters. We also have more then one thousand cameras around this place and five guys in surveillance that keep an eye on them at all times. We have it covered and you and your Rangers are just extra thanks to your husband
The elevator then stopped and then opened to a hotel like hallway, “What is this asked Jenna”.
It’s are private quarters floor when we are doing extended projects and research the top guys need a place to stay. Now here is your key and your room is at the end of the hallway there and your bags are already in there replied Turner
Jenna stepped out and Mr. Turner handed her key
All right Mrs. Terwell make yourself at home and I will be in the administration building if you need me you have a nice day he said
Ok thank you Mr. Turner she replied
The elevator doors started to close until Mr. Turner put his hand through and the doors opened again.
I almost forgot there is a food court and gym on the eighth floor you and the guys down stairs can help yourself he added
The doors then closed and Jenna turned to the long hallway she went down it to a pair of doors at the end of it. She put her key in the door and then it opened to a small hallway with paintings on either side that then opened to a massive living room. With massive windows that had a beautiful view of the city she looked around and there was a modern kitchen full of food and an office. She opened another door to a massive master bedroom and bathroom. Jenna walked back into the living room and say a note on the table she picked it up and opened it.
Dear Jenna
I’m going to miss you while you are down there so I thought I would try and make it comfortable for you. It took a little arguing with Turner but I hope you enjoy it and you stay safe with that stupid container and what not and I’ll see you soon

Jenna threw herself down on the sofa and mumbled to herself “God I love him” she sat up and grabbed the phone on the table next tot the couch and dialed his number. She waited as it rang a few times and then it was finally answered
This is Colonel Terwell
Hey Hon it’s me
Jenna it’s good to hear from you so the trip to Atlanta went smooth
Yeah as smooth as it could of there’s protesters all around this place because they think we have a big bio bomb but security has things locked down here
Well we are kind of doing that aren’t we?
Well they don’t need to know that now do they but what I called about is this room you put me up in
You like it he said
O it’s beautiful I can make myself at home here
Glad to here it I wanted to make sure my girl was comfortable during her stay at the CDC
O Balto thank you how can I repay you?
O I don’t know I’m sure you’ll think of something
Balto I love you so much
I love you too Jenna now I’m going to have to go here but I’ll talk to you later and I’ll see you in two month and you can repay me then

Jenna hung up the phone and laid back on the sofa and stared at the ceiling thinking to herself that was going to be a long two months. But Jenna was strong and had done this before but with for longer when she had been over in the Middle East. She mumbled to herself “Just another tour”.
CDC Complex Atlanta
March/1/12 1:00am
Jenna tossed and turned in the bed unable to sleep she turned onto her back and stared at the ceiling then she looked over at the clock and it said 1:46 am. This is getting old she said and then she got out of the bed she put on a pair of cameo pants she stole from Balto and her boots and a white top. She left her room and started to the elevator she pressed the button and the doors opened she got in then down she went and the doors then opened to the two Rangers on guard. How you boys holding up she said, were holding up good mama any idea when were heading home he replied. Hopefully soon she patted his shoulder and started down the hall to the lab to the other two Rangers. She still in there she asked, Yes mama came the response. Jenna went in and saw Dr. Ravenwood on a computer and went up to her.
Doctor what are you still doing up said Jenna
O finishing my reports on the virus replied Ravenwood
Jenna picked up a file that was on her desk and started to read it
You surely have done enough testing on it that you should know everything about it said Jenna
I should replied Ravenwood
Now whats this she said
Ravenwood turned from her computer "What"
It says here that the virus when it's airborne it is only airborne for close to ten minutes and then dies she said
That's right replied Ravenwood
Why is that asked Jenna
Well when I was doing testing on how the virus could spread I found out several interesting things. I found that the virus can't for some reason not infect food and water but i could go airborne. The only thing is that the virus when it does go airbourne is like a fish out of water it can’t survive the virus itself slowly dies it can only survive in it’s liquid form or however it infects replied Ravenwood
Ok then when it does find a host and infects that host how does the new host spread it from there asked Jenna
Well thats even stranger when I infected a rat it died within ten to twenty minutes but them a half hour later it came back its eyes blood shot and very violent. I then introduced another rat in a seperate container and the infected one just wanted to attack the other at all cost. I then did a scan of the infected rats brain and found that when the rat came back the only part of the brain that came back was the part that controls movment and sight.
Jesus replied Jenna
I know and I can't explian why they act like this after infected this is a really weird virus said Ravenwood
Ravenwood then got up and yawned
Doctor I think you have worked enough for now so let me take you to your room said Jenna
Sounds good to me I'll finish those reports tomorrow Ravenwood replied
The two walked out of the lab and then down to the elevators they pressed the button and the doors opened and they got in
They've had you on that canister ever sense we got it here said Jenna
O yeah the hours are killer but they want all the research that they can get done on it done replied Ravenwood
Yeah they most with the all the extension request Mr. Turner keeps asking for to keep the virus longer
O I knew I forgot something said Ravenwood
What is it

Balto walked down the hall and then came to a door that said Intellegents Room. Balto got out his I.D. card and swipped it on a pad next to the door and then it opened. He walked into the room that had monitor stations all in it and the front wall that was covered with monitor screens all with diffrent images on them. Balto then saw General Moore and he was looking at one of the screens.
Balto walked over and inturupted him
Ah Colonel what can I do you for he replied
Sir maybe you can tell me why the canister is still down in Atlanta

The General sighed "Alright Colonel come with me"
The two exited the room and they continued down the hallway and they came to an elevator. The General pulled out his I.D. and swipped it on the pad on the wall and then a keypad came out of the wall. The General typed in a few numbers and then the elevator doors came opened and the General motioned to Balto.

Balto got in and then the General got in and then pushed a button on the panel and the elevator started down

They went down a little more and the doors then opened to another room filled with operating stations and a wall that was covered with a giant screen. The General went up to one of the operators and asked him "Bring up case file 126 please". Then on the screen popped up paperwork and images of passports, flight infromation and then eight picture of men.
Colonel on the screen are the picture of several well known terrorist that flew into Atlanta said General Moore

Well we were hopeing they would lead us to a even bigger cell of terrorist operationing in the southern states and then we lost track of them about a week ago replied General Moore

The four Rangers guarded the lab and elevator stood at their post as another Ranger with a silver bar on each shoulder walked down to them. He went up first to the two at the lab doors.
Morning boys he said
Morning Lieutenant replied one of them
You to go and wake up the morning crew said the Lieutenant
Yes sir they both replied and they started down the hall to the bunkroom then the luetient started to the men at the elevator.

The two started down the hall and weren't half way down when the elevator opened and it had eight janitors and their carts then the Lieutenant turned to them.
Sorry guys you can't be on this floor said the Lieutenant
One of them stepped out but didn't say a word
Hey I said you can't be up here yelled the Lieutenant
He started to walk toward the man when he pulled a gun and unloaded three rounds into the Lieutenant. The two men that were guarding the elevator turned and pulled their side arms but the rest of the men in the elevator pulled rifles out of the carts and unloaded down the hall. The two Rangers dropped to the floor as the the eight men started down the hall to the lab. They had made it to the doors when another two Rangers popped out of the bunkroom and started firing. The terrorist returned fire and took out one of the Rangers while the other took cover. One of the terrorist tore off his janitor suit to reveal a military uniform he turned to one of his men messing with the lab doors.
Get me in there he yelled
The doors are locked sir he replied
The unifromed man then pushed the man out of the way and unload his pistol into the door electronic lock and pulled the doors open.
You two come with me the rest of you cover the hall said the uniform man
As he and the other two men entered the lab the rest of the Rangers came out and took cover where they could and returned fire. Jenna then came bursting through the stairs door and took cover behind another Ranger.
Whats going on where did they come from she yelled
I don't know they came up the elevator and shot the Lieutenant and three others he said
Are these guys it she replied
No three of them went into the lab
Shit yelled Jenna
She then pulled her side arm and squezzed off three rounds and dropped one of the terrorist and as he fell the three men came out of the lab two were holding the canister.

All the remaining terrorist got up and into the elevator and Jenna started to run at them and fire her gun as she went. The rounds hit the door and then hit one of the men behind the uniformed man. Just before the doors closed a grin came across the uniformed mans face Jenna stopped as the doors closed and then punched them.
Shit she yelled
She turned to the hall which was now covered in bullet holes, blood and bodies the Rangers began tending two the wounded. Jenna just slowly slide down the elevator doors and to the floor.
Whats the damage she yelled down the hall
Four died and five wounded responded a soldier

Jenna got up and went over to a Ranger looking out the window she looked out to see a van go speeding out of the CDC.

Well sir Washington already called they said there was a good chance the canister was in danger and that security should keep an eye open he replied

They also said they want us to return to Washington with the canister
Well gather up the men were going home minus the canister she said
Jenna put her pistol in its holster and walked down the hallway

9:00pm
Balto sat at his desk doing some paper work when his phone rang he dropped his pen and answered it.
This is Colonel Terwell he said
Hey honey it's Jenna
Jenna it's good to here from you how are you
I'm fine were getting on a plane to D.C now and I thought it would be good to call
Good I can't wait until you and the canister are back

Balto stiffened up and pulled the phone away and then put it back up against his ear

We were attacked at the CDC by eight terrorists they killed four Rangers and wounded five. They took the canister and Dr. Ravenwoods computer and everything on the virus

Balto hung up his phone and then slammed his fist on his desk he then got up and stormed out of his office. He went down the hall and to the elevator and scanned his card and the doors opened and he got in and went down. The doors opened and he went in and looked around and say the General talking to a few tech men. He went over and grabbed the General by his shoulder.
Colonel what seems to be the problem here he said in a high voice

You failed to tell me about the attack on the CDC and that my wife was in danger and the canister that could end the world is now in terrorist hands he yelled

Balto eased himself down and took a breath

Balto were working hard to figure out where these guys have gone I will let you know if we find something. Now I beleive Mrs. Terwell is going to be flying in a few hours so go home get some rest and then go get her. She's had a trying trip I think seeing you will do her some good.

Balto then turned and went back to the elevator he pressed the button and the doors opened he got in and sighed and the doors closed.

Balto stood on the runway as Jenna's plane came in and touched down and then taxi'd to the holding area where he was. The plane came to a stop and the cargo doors opened and Jenna came out. She stopped at the end of the ramp.
Rangers she yelled
The Rangers came out of the plane and formed two rows and then Jenna turned toward the plane. Jenna saluted as the caskits came out of the plane and were marched down the center of the two rows. The Rangers stood there in silence and watched as their freinds went by and when the caskit were taken inside the hanger Jenna turned to the men.
At ease gentlemen your free to go she yelled
The Rangers started to walk there seperate ways and Jenna started to walk to Balto. Balto couldn't help but notice she was stareing at the hanger where the caskits were taken and that she was crying.
Terwell Residents
Midnight
Jenna sat on the couch and stared into the fire that Balto had made. Balto walked in from the kitchen with two cups in his hands and offered one to Jenna. "Thanks" she said and took a sip and then continued to stare into the fire. Balto watched Jenna and he grew concerned and sighed to himself.
Jenna are you alright he said
Yeah I'm ok she replied
No your not you've barely spoken since you landed now what's wrong
Jenna slightly sobbed and turned to Balto
What I had to do at the airport today I don't ever want to do again she said
Jenna you didn't know those men were going to get killed and I'm sure they didn't either they were following orders and they died following them
Jenna started to sob more and she threw her arms around Balto and put her head in his chest. Balto was shocked for a second and then wrapped his arms around her and held her tight doing his best to comfort her.

Jenna pulled her face out of his chest and Balto wiped her tears
It's just that I don't want either of us to go through that, I mean if either of us were to be killed in the line of duty I don't think I could handle the sight of your coffin if anything happened she said
Jenna began to cry again and Balto put his hands on her face and wiped away a few more tears
Jenna I wouldn't let anything like that happen to either of us I swear to you I will not let that happen he said
Jenna looked up at Balto with a smile and the two of them kissed

Balto and Jenna worked in the kitchen to get dinner ready, cleaning vegetables and cutting them up and then Balto heard Jenna sigh

I was wrong the virus took in the radiation and created a new strand of the virus. This new strand is more stronger can servive when airbourne and infrects faster, kills fatser and brings the victims back to life faster and it makes them more aggressive she said

40 minutes Later
Balto stared up at the screen that now had a map of D.C on it he scanned it over and then a soldier came up and handed him a piece of paper. Balto read it and then put it down and grabbed a headset off one of the monitors.
This is Colonel Terwell to all forces in D.C another cansiter has been found city maybe clear but all forces stay on guard and continue evacuations over and out.
The elevator doors then opened and General Moore stepped out and walked up to Balto and starred at the map as well
He pointed at the map “We found the second one in GoergeTown we believe the city is clear any word on any other cities he said
No nothing yet and we are almost out of time I don’t think we will make it Sir replied
God Damn it yelled General Moore

Yes I informed the Navy and the Airforce there shutting down all airtrack going in and out of the country same deal with the Navy and the shipping lanes going in and out and all are forces have suited up in there anti-biological warfare suitsd and they are handing out masks to civilans replied Moore

The radio cut off and then the room began to shake and then the power went down.

The room filled with the voices of the men working the monitors and then the General Yelled above them all

And then the lights began to slowly come back on and everything started to reboot and comeback on and then the radio cameback on and was filled with chatter.
Command come in this is Division Commander of the 3rd Armor a bomb just went off in the southern part of the city on the other side of the river over
General Moore grabbed the radio and called back

Theres rubble everywhere a lot of stuff came down during the blast over
Rogar Commander tell your men to start watching for infected and engage on site and get as many civilans as you can out and set of defense areas around the white house and other government buildings get everyone important out over

Balto put down the radio and stared blankly into the floor, the General came up and put his hand on Balto's shoulder. Balto I'm sorry but we need to get moving said Moore
Balto just continued to stare into the floor
Colonel we need to leave and get to the White House and brief the President and get a plan worked out said Moore
Balto looked up at the General and nodded and him and then General went to the elevator and got in.
Colonel we need to stop this before it gets anyworse said Moore
Balto just stared at the elevator doors as they closed and said, Sir as we speak the infection is spreading ITS ALL JUST STARTED
