You Can't Be Forgiven!

Kodi walked out into the coldness of nome. This morning was filled with sounds of kids and adults getting ready for Christmas. Kodi ran up to the maildeliverer Mr.Simpson and snapped palyfuly at his heels.

"C'mon Kodi! Lets GO!" Shouted Mr.Simpson

Kodi barked his responce and headed twared his place on the team.

"No, Kodi! Our leader is feeling ill and you the next fastest dog, or wolf, or Hybrid, whatever gust c'mon. Get up here!" Mr.Simpson said hooking Kodi up-front. "Good boy." he said before getting on the back. "GO!" he shouted and the mail team was off!

The snow hit Kodi's face but he kept going. Nothing was going to stop this mail. Nothing. Kodi ran faster trying to prove himself. Other dogs shouted for him to slow down but everytime they did this Kodi went faster. They soon discovered this and stopped telling him to slow down. Kodi came to a stop in Applegate.

"Good boy Kodi!" Mr.Simpson shouted before packing the old mail off and the new mail on with the help of the Applegate's mailman. Soon Mr.Simpson shouted "GO!" and they were of. Going faster than ever. Kodi could hear his heart pounding in his ears. His chest started to hurt and he slipped on the ice ahead. Mr.Simpson walked up to him.

"I know you still a good team dog Kodi, but not a good leader. Stick to YOUR place. Okay?" Mr.Simpson said. Kodi's heart sank. HE wasn't good enuf? He would show Mr.Simpson he WAS!

Kodi got back up and ran as fast as he could go. The other dogs didn't complain other than yelping when the stepped on ice or a rock. The snow slowly turned to ice but the team made it back safly AND on time. In fact they were two minets ahead of time. As they came to a stop in nome Kodi was the only one still standing. He barked happily as Mr.Simpson passed him.

"I was wrong Kodi. You are and always will be a good leader." Mr.Simpson said unlaching Kodi from the slead. kodi barked again and set off to meet Dusty and the pups.

The door to the shead was pushed open and Kodi stopped for a moment hearing voices.

'Dusty, Kodi is my friend, we can't go on like this.' Said one voice.

'Are you sure?' asked Dusty

'Yes, it's for the best.' said the voice. Soon Ralph walks out. "Oh.... hey Kodi." he said and shot off like a bulet. Kodi walked into the shead.

"Dusty? What was Ralph doing in here?" Kodi asked walking slowly twards her.

"He was duping me...." Dusty said looking at the floor.

"How, what? You cheated on me Dusty!" KOdi yelped and ran outside as fast as his legs could carry him. Away from the pain, the memories and the heartach. Why would she do this to me? Kodi wandered. What have I done to HER? Thease questions swarmed in his head. He walked for miles and soon came to a cave. He padded into it and layed down. Tomorow I will cover more ground. He thought. Slowly he fell asleep. He had a deam that Aniu the white wolf was trying to wake him up, that his love was near.

He woke up and saw, not Dusty but a Black wolf, as black as the sky that surrounds the stars at night and golden eyes, like an egales.

"He- hello." Kodi said. In an instant he fell in love with this wolf.

"Who, may I ask, are you?" the black wolf asked him.

"Kodi. Son of Balto and Jenna. Who are you?" he asked.

"Kattahii. Daughter of Leez and Cattera." she said and bowed her head. "You are very red. Much like your mother." She said "I see her in Nome from time to time." She said seeing the face on Kodi.

Kodi bowed as well. "You are bueatiful." he said.

"Thank you..... Kodi." Kattahii said. He thinks I'm bueaitiful! This is good. I love him.

"Kattahii? Where do I sleep?" he asked looking around her cave.

"Here." she said, her golden eyes gleaming and her pelt shinning in the moonlight.

Kodi nodded. He wanted Kattahii to be his new mate. After this thought struck him his heart ached as he thought baout Dusty. Kattahii would never do that to me.... not what Dusty did. No, no, she won't. She won't. Kodi said to himslef. "Kattahii?" Kodi said

"Yes, Kodi?" she said a worryed look flashed in her eyes.

"Will, will you, will you be, will you be my, will you be my mate?" he said looking at her golden eyes.

Kattahii looked scared. But her gaze softened and she nodded. "Yes, Kodi, I would love too." she said. Kattahii layed down.

Kodi smiled and layed by her. Kattahii smiled as well but fell asleep.

The next morning Kodi half hoped to be back in the shead with Dusty and his pups. But as his eyes opended his heart sank. This was no dream. "Kattahii?" he called.

"Yes?" came Kattahii's voice. Her black head poked out from the enterence.

"Just seeing if you were here." he said. He layed his head on his paws. He soon got up and went outside. "Kattahii?" he called. The sun beat down on his red fur.

"Yes, Kodi?" she said and came running to him with a brown rabbit in her jaws.

"Hey." he said giveing her a lick on her ears.

"Kodi. I'm rady to have pups! I'm in heat!" she said happily.

"Thats great!" Kodi said. He lead her into the cave and when the moon was high they fell asleep.

~~~Three months later~~~

Soon two pups were born. A male, black, with a cream underbelly and blue eyes, and a female, red like a rose, with golden eyes. The male was Saber and the female, Seth.
