Two Years Later...

Waya walked out of the den. She yawned, her fangs glinted in the Autum sun. The breeze felt cool on her hot flesh. Her tail whisked from side to side. She could see her two younger sister's playing with the two younger pups she had this Spring. One was male and the other female. The male was a white tan, named Kannok; after her father. The female was a brownish color called Avil.

Her eyes narrowed. Something was amiss. Where was Aiden? Aiden was her younger brother, but acted older than what he really was. A shiver ran up her spine. She ran over to Feline and looked at her after she bowed her head. "Have you seen, Aiden?" she asked. Feline shook her head with a frown.

Waya's breath caught in her through and her blood ran cold through her veins. She knew that Aiden and Moose had left about a month ago to go extend their territory, they said they'd be back on this same day. They were not.

Waya went back into the den to wake up Truck. His muscles were wet with sweat even though it was cool outside. She froze. She went over to him and licked his cheek. His cheek felt warm, she knew that wolves get their extra coat during the colder months' of the year, but it was only the first day of Autum and Truck was usally up and about by this time of day.

She worried for him, thinking something may of happened to him. She tried to wake him.

Truck murmered in his sleep. She nudged him and he opened his eyes, they were covered with liquid on his eyes lids. She gasped lowly and whimpered. She rubbed her head against his. Truck had become ill. It wasn't fatal, just a common cold that usally came about this time of year. She had to keep him warm to stop the illness from getting out of hand.

"I'll be right back." she whispered to him and she ran off. She came back with a caribou hide. She collected hides that were stripped when scavengers like Valtures were down with a kill. She covered him with the hide and licked him. "Be well, I'm leaving to go find Moose and Aiden." she said.

She turned away, but felt fangs on her tail. She turned and met his eyes. "Come back." he whispered with his husky voice. "I will." she said and ran off.

---

She ran through the outer reaches of the territory. She had left Feline in charge of the pups and the pack. She kept running till she caught a very faint familar scent. It was Moose and Aiden, they had passed through here, maybe about two or three weeks ago.

She sighed, why would they come so close to the territory and not come home? Her question was solved when she caught a putrid scent of intruders. They scented of foul, smelly water, water that smelled like it had been tainted. She sniffed the ground. The ground had been untouched since Moose and Aiden and the other wolves passed through.

An attack was conspicious. A myraid of tracks were tossed all about, there was sure to have been an attack. She followed the trail till it looked like two bodies had been thrown to the ground in the spot. She sniffed the ground, she still scented the lingering scents of two familar males.

She stared at the body prints, then her eyes widen. It looked as if they had been dragged away. She followed the dragging marks, till it looked like they had been picked up and they headed into a deep part of the forest.

Waya had been walking for about an hour till she came to a high cliff. Below was a thin forest and the strange scent of the intruders was filling the air, but it had no wolf musk in it. Her eyes narrowed. She went down the cliff and headed into the already thinning forest. She kept walking and noticed the ground becoming moist and watery.

"What the?" she whispered and kept walking till in front of her was, what looked like a large river. The scent of the wolves had kept going. She heard about these lands. They were called the Northlands or the Swampies. She sniffed. She sighed and shivered. She went into the swamp, the waters coming up to her sides and almost covering her back.

She walked these waters till sundown. The chill in the air sent shivers up her back. She searched for either shallow water or land, but there was no land, only swamp willows high rocks. She decided to keep walking till sun rise. She was taking a rick of catching hypothermia, but she had to get Moose and Aiden back.

Next Morning...

Waya was sloshing through the water, her legs were swallen and numb from the cold waters of the swamp, but the cold kept her moving and awake. She smiled when she saw a shore and she ran faster, not caring that the water slowed her down. She kept running till her soaked paws hit dry land and she collapsed on a bed of moss and layed there for about an hour.

Hour Later...

Waya looked up. It was a bit cooler and the scent of salt filled her nose. She snorted and rubbed her nose, trying to clear the repulsive smell. She stood from her spot and continued to walk through the unknown land of the Northlands.

She walked it'll she found a beach. She stared at it. About ten or some miles out to see was an island. She could swear she heard howls coming from it. The island was huge, it actually lead to another part of the land.

Waya kneeled her head down and took a lap of the salty smelling water. She gagged and spat in disgust. "Blah!" she yelped and almost wiped her tongue on the sand. She spat out the sand and gagged.

Her ears twitched. She heard silent paws on the sand. Her tail twitched, but not giving notice to the stranger behind her. She heard the paws stop about three or two feet behind her.

She lunged out, but then all she could see was blurr and she felt a firey pain on her head and collapsed onto the cold sand.

---

A grey wolf stared at her and grinned. "Welcome to your new home, Waya, alpha of the LupisTooth." said an evil voice. The voice was yet familar. The grey wolf grabbed Waya by her leg and pulled her onto her back and the grey female swam across the ocean, toward the island...

The grey wolf reached the island and shoved Waya's limp body off of her. She cracked her neck and looked to see two brown tanish wolves jog over. Their fur was thick, but it was not their winter coat. They had grown accustomed to living by the sea and grew a thicker coat to keep them warmer in the icey waters.

"Lady, Zena. What have you got there?" he asked. The wolf sounded interested in Zena's catch.

"Someone that you can toy with later. I want you to get her a den and let her grow on her new home." Zena said and turned away as he carried Waya's body away and she stared at the land she had once inhabited, but now, had grown to this new land. She sighed, but a smile was on her face. "Welcome to the Wolves of the Northlands." she smiled and howled loudly...
