"Get into the Nursery with the kits!" Hissed Wolfheart to Sourpaw. "But I'm not a kit!" She complained, "I am an apprentice! I want to fight!"

"No!"

Sourpaw opened her mouth to argue, but quickly closed it back. Wolfheart wondered if she had gotten some since bit into her that since she was blind, she wasn't ready to fight.

She ran into the Nursery saying nothing more.

Wolfheart was bunted onto her side by a large She-Cat from ShadowClan. Her gaze seemed farmiliar and strange.

Russetfur!

She raked her hind paws onto Russetfur's soft belly, and the large She-Cat bounded off of her, yowling in pain. Soon after, she fell over, limp.

I didn't mean to scratch so hard! She thought. I'm sorry Russetfur!

As she looked around the dusty clearing, she noticed that Shadowheart was scuffling in the sand with Blackfoot, as Firestar struggled with Tigerstar.

She heard a faint yowl, and she spun around to see Boulder, a ShadowClan warrior, biting Hazelheart's back leg with wild force, as blood dripped to the ground.

She ran over and rammed off Boulder, making sure he reteated before helping Hazelheart to three paws. "Go to Bluewater's den," She ordered. "You will be safe there."

Furious yowls rose up from the Gorse Tunnel.

As Wolfheart turned to look, she saw a mixture of WindClan and RiverClan cats pouring in.

As the WindClan cats went against ShadowClan, RiverClan went with them.

This isn't just a battle... Thought Wolfheart in terror. It's a war!

A RiverClan apprentice rammed into her side, and she turned to see Stormpaw.

"Get off of me you fat fur-ball!" She hissed. She knocked him off, and Stormpaw eyed her curiously. "Is that you Wolfheart?" He gasped. "I'm so sorry! Forgive me!" He said, running off. Stormpaw was one of Graystripes children.

Another cat entered the Gorse Tunnel, his black pelt shining.

Ravenpaw! And Barley!

The two cats joined into the battle, slashing unsheathed claws in all directions furiously, hissing and spitting with anger.

Another cat bowled her over onto the dusty ground. As blood dripped into her eyes from a scratch on her forehead, she could barley make out who the cat was, or what Clan it was in.

Terror stopped her in her tracks. This cat was Blackfoot.

Blackfoot sent worry running through Wolfheart's veins. She was obviously helpless against this cat, espeacially being blinded by her own blood!

A sudden flash of black ripped through the air, and Blackfoot was sent onto the ground, gasping for breath.

Shadowheart!

Wolfheart shook some of the blood from her eyes and watched as the two cats wrestled on the ground, hissing and spitting. Shadowheart had Blackfoot pinned, and was aiming for his unprotected belly.

"Run!" He called to Wolfheart.

Wolfheart scrabbled to her paws as the blood filled her eyes again. She limped over to Bluewater's Den.

As she entered, she saw the outline of many cats. She could make out Hazelheart's and Graystripe's, followed by Onewhiskers. Though there were many more cats in the dark clearing, she couldn't completely make them out.

"What happened to you?" Moaned Bluewater. "If you aren't hurt too badly, you need to go back out, I have my hands full. But don't hesitate if you are injured."

Bluewater stepped out of the shadows of the back of the den. She immediently noticed the mark of Wolfheart's head.

"Oh my!" She gasped. "That gash is worse than another cat's that I have in here! And your leg-it has been twisted. Come, lay down."

She urged herself to the ground, as Bluewater lay cobwebs over her forehead. The blood was swiped out of her eyes by Bluewater's gentle paw, and she could see clearly again.

So many injured cats! Hazelheart, Graystripe, Onewhisker, Echobreeze-and Featherpaw! What was a RiverClan cat doing in the ThunderClan Medicine Cat den?

"She was injured very badly..." Explained Bluewater, as if she had read Wolfheart's mind. "She needed care-and I'm still not sure if I can save her."

Bluewater was right. Featherpaw-Graystripes other kit-was injured in many places you could call leathal. Her belly was torn, and her forepaw was twisted and ripped. Her head was scratched, and one ear was missing, and clumps of fur from all over her pelt were missing.

Wolfheart gasped in shock. Did Graystripe know his daughter was here too? "Has Graystripe seen her?" She sighed. "Yes," Replied Bluewater. "And he believes she is on her was to StarClan..."

Though Wolfheart could see Featherpaw's belly rising and falling gently, she was certain her father was right. Feathertail was leathally injured, and probably wouldn't make it to dawn.

When Wolfheart awoke the next morning, Shadowheart was by her side. And to her surprise, Featherpaw was still alive.

Most of the cats had left, and Wolfheart was certain she could also. She didn't know what happened after she fell asleep, or who won. But by the looks of things, WindClan and ThunderClan had.

As she tilted her head towards Hazelheart, the young warrior was on her feet, and nuzzling Ravenpaw's flank.

Odd. Thought Wolfheart. I figured Ravenpaw and Barley would be gone by now.

Firestar's yowl came from outside at the Highrock.

"Let all the cats old enough to catch their own prey gather below the Highrock for a Clan meeting!"

As Wolfheart padded out into the clearing, a horrible sight was seen. Many dead cats lay in the clearing, not yet to have been taken to burial...Including that of Russetfur and Grayheart.  Oh no... she thought, ignoring Firestar's continues yowls for cats to gather around. She ran to her sister's side.

"Wolfheart, are you coming?" asked Firestar. "I'll listen from here..." she whispered. Firestar nodded, and began.

"We have three new members of ThunderClan!" He yowled proudly. "Ravenpaw, Barley and Featherpaw!"

Yowls arose from the crowd. Shadowheart broke in: "Why Barley and Ravenpaw? I know that Featherpaw is too weak to travel back to RiverClan, but I still do not know why Ravenpaw and Barley are here!"

"Simple." Shrugged Firestar. "They want to be. Or atleast, thats what they say. They say it can get lonley around the barn at some points, and that strange cats have been prowling around there."

Yowls of worry arose, and at the mention of strange cats, Wolfheart joined in. "What kind of strange cats?" Yowled Whitestorm. "Are they dangerous?"

"Hopefully they aren't a threat." Replied Firetsar coolly. "But we will keep a look out."

The cats began to walk away, some worried, some not.

Wolfheart was at Fourtrees, the sun was shining bright and Silverpelt sparkeled in the sky. In a way she was dreaming.

"Hello?" She called. A rustle in the bushs behind her made her spin around. A red pelt walked out from the underbrush.

Redleaf!

"Oh, Redleaf! It's so good to see you!" She yowled with delight. "Its good to see you too." Rasped Redleaf with a purr. "Why have you brought me here?" She asked tilting her head.

"Why must there be a reason? And who said I brought you here?" Purred Redleaf. "Oh?" Asked Wolfheart. "You missed me that much?"

"Sure." Rasped Redleaf. "How is life with StarClan?" Asked Wolfheart. "It is wonderful. Everything so peacful and happy."

Another cat stalked out of the clearing, her mucles tensed and her ginger-and-white pelt neatly groomed and glossy.

"Oh Russetfur," Exclaimed Wolfheart. "I am so very sorry."

Russetfur just purred with delight. "I forgive you. But I still don't know why you rub up on me like a mother to her kit."

Wolfheart shrugged. "I just don't like the thought of being a murderer, even if I didn't mean to do it." She sighed. Russetfur ran her sleek pelt over Wolfheart's. "All is well." She purred. "All is well."

The cats faded before Wolfheart's eyes, and in what seemed like a heartbeat, she was back in the Warriors Den.

She arched her back in a stretch and stalked out into the sandy clearing. The day was warm and the sun shone brightly in the sky.

"Hello, Wolfheart!" Purred Shadowheart, heading her way from the fresh-kill pile. "You fought well in the battle." He exclaimed.

"Thank you." Purred Wolfheart. She didn't mention that her leg was still sore from the recent battle.

"Hey, Wolfheart? Where are you?"

The shrill came from Wolfheart's apprentice, Sourpaw. She was sniffing the ground eagerly, her blind eyes set on nothingness.

"Over here!" She yowled back. Sourpaw's ears twitched and she stepped lightly over to Wolfheart, running into Shadowheart's muscular leg on the way.

"Oops! Sorry!" She mewed, her eyes set on the ground. "It's OK." Purred Shadowheart, as he stalked off.

"Are you fit enough to train today?" Asked Sourpaw excitidly. That, Wolfheart wasn't sure of just yet. Her leg still clenched with pain, and she was still limping. It would be best not to take chances.

"Not yet." Sighed Wolfheart sadly. "But I'm sure that one of our warriors could take you out. How about Whitestorm?"

Sourpaw ran off to scent out Whitestorm. Once she found him, she asked him what Wolfheart reported.

Wolfheart watched from a distance as the two prodded happily out the Gorse Tunnel.

Wolfheart met Hazelheart padding out of the Medcine Cat's Den for the first time since the battle.

"Better?" She asked eagerly. "Yep!" Meowed Hazelheart. "Up and running again!" She added. "Great!" Purred Wolfheart.

The two padded over to the fresh-kill pile together and both picked out a plump mouse.

"Mind if I join you?" Ravenpaw's voice sounded from behind them. Hazelheart let out a long, raspy purr. "Of course you can!"

Ravenpaw picked out a vole, and tucked his paws underneath him. He pressed his flank into Hazelheart's.

A yowl arose from the highrock. "Ugh, not again!" Moaned Wolfheart. They got to their paws and padded quickly over to the Highrock.

"We have two kits who are now old enough to do their apprentice training. Rosekit and Gorgekit, step forward."

The two new apprentices, brother to sister Wolfheart guessed, padded excitidly to face Firestar.

The Female kit bounded up first. Her long, glossy ginger-and-white fur stood out bleekly.

"Hazelheart, you shall mentor Rosepaw."

Beside Wolfheart, she felt Hazelheart's eyes go from dull to wide and happy. Hazelheart stepped forward and touched noses with Rosepaw, and then stepped back.

"Shadowheart, you shall mentor Gorgepaw."

Shadowheart stepped forward and followed the ritual.

Firestar let out the meeting, and Rosepaw bounded over to Hazelheart.

"When do we start our training? I am going to be the best warrior of all time!" She yowled before Hazelheart could answer her first question.

"Well," Hazelheart got lost in thought for a moment. "tommorow. That is when we shall start."

"I could bring Sourpaw with us, and I am sure Shadowheart wouldn't mind tagging along with Gorgepaw."

"Great!" Purred Hazelheart and Rosepaw together. "Now go get some rest." Instructed Hazelheart. "We have a big day tommorrow."

When Wolfheart padded out of the warriors den that morning, she spotted Firestar and Shadowheart exchanging worried glances.

"Are you sure about this?" Sighed Shadowheart. "Sure about what?" Asked Wolfheart bounding up to them. "Tigerstar and Leopardstar joined aligances. And they made TigerClan. Now they are demanding us to join TigerClan, or they will start a battle." Explained Firestar.

Shadowheart's eyes clouded with sorrow. "Our answer is no." He added. "So we have to be prepared to fight. He has given us three days. That is when the answer will be made."

Three days came and gone. All of the apprentices-even kits trained with all their might. "Will we be ready?" Murmered Wolfheart to Shadowheart. "I'm not sure." Confessed Shadowheart with a sigh. "But this is all we can do. C'mon, Firestar is calling us to leave."

All of the warriors, apprentices and Bluewater came along. There would for sure be a battle, and nobody could predict there wouldn't be.

"Hello, Tigerstar." Greeted Firestar calmly from the front of the line. Shadowheart, Wolfheart, Hazelheart, Ravenpaw and their apprentices all huddled together in the back of the line.

Suddenly, many, many more cats appeared, including a very large black-and-white cat and a very small black cat. They wore collars that had spikes of dog teeth.

"They're kittypets!" Spat Shadowheart.

Tigerstar and this cat argued. Wolfheart heard the tiny cat say his name was Scourge, and that he was the leader of BloodClan.

"Attack!" Hissed Tigerstar. "My cat's will attack when I tell them. Not you."

A few more bickering and finally, Tigerstar lost his patience.

"Traitor!" He hissed. He lunged for Scourge, and Scourge's claws of teeth raked across Tigerstar's belly.

He will only loose a life or two... Thought Wolfheart. But she was entirley wrong. Tigerstar lost all his lives at once, choking and holding on. But he couldn't stand it. His body fell limp.

All of the other four Clans gasped in astonishment. Firestar offered Scourge a bite to eat before he went home, but he was simply not satisfied.

He claimed the entire forest.

"Come back here tommorrow for your answer. Either hand it over, or fight me and my Clan." He hissed, and walked away.

Once they all returned home, Firetstar and Graystripe and a few others went and got TigerClan's opinion. In the end, they chose to fight with ThunderClan and WindClan. Not with BloodClan.

I won't see my sister at this fight. She sighed to herself. She has already joined the prescence of StarClan from the battle with the other Clans earlier.

It only seemed like a few pawsteps before all of the Clans were meeting with BloodClan again.

This is it thought Wolfheart I might not see my camp again.

The fighting broke out, and all of the Clan's Charged for each other. The first cat she saw was Whitestorm going for Bone.

Hazelheart and Ravenpelt fought side by side, and Barley ran by himself, like the loner he was.

Sourpaw did her techniques on an unsuspecting warrior of BloodClan, and Brightheart and Cloudtail fooled some too.

Wolfheart charged at a ginger she-cat, and clung to her back. She scratched with her hind legs and bit into the helpless cats shoulder.

The cat bucked off Wolfheart and ran. Wolfheart chased after it.

They charged out of Fourtrees, and through bracken and bushes. Panting, pawstep-by-pawstep. Wolfheart felt as if her heart was going to burst of tiresome, until they made it to the Thunderpath. Nothing hit the ginger she-cat, but it ran away wailing as if something had.

Wolfheart had to walk the rest of her way back to Fourtrees. But when she got back, it was a disaster of blood and chaos.

Scourge and Whitestorm lay still, along with many other cats from other Clans. Another sight she saw was Shadowheart, gazing sadly at the lifeless body of Gorgepaw. She walked to his side. "What happened?" she asked him, "I don't know," he admitted, "I just know that it was Bone who did it. I think he went to help Whitestorm, and he took them both out."

All of the remaining BloodClan had fled, and the cats were yowling their victory.

They did it! she thought. Then her eyes spotted two motionless aprentices, laying side by side. "No...No!"

She ran to their side.

Not Rosepaw and Sourpaw!
