Wolf's Rain Two: Part 11
Get Out Alive
Blue....Blue is dead? How...that can't be!
"BLUE!" Hige yelped, and with an effort sent Darcia skidding away as he leaned down beside his mate. "Blue, you can't be dead! We'll make it to Paradise, together!"
The pack watched with wide eyes, even the newest members seemed completely shocked. Tsume curled his lip and whipped around to Darcia, swiftly lunging and biting his throat. Darcia snarled and raked his claws over Tsume's face, though the grey wolf wouldn't let go.
Rowan quickly turned to Rain and Toboe. "You two help Kiba and Cheza get to the place where they need to be, now!" Before they could say anything, she sent Darcia rolling away from where he had Tsume pinned on the bloody ground.
Toboe pinned his ears back and glanced at Blue a last time, then raced after Kiba, who carried Cheza by the scruff towards the other side of the surface and down. Rain followed close beside Toboe, holding tears back for later.
Turning to glance behind him, the last thing Toboe saw before going out of sight was Tsume being thrown into a boulder, and blood splattering the rock as he slid to the ground. He heard Rowan yell, then Toboe flinched when he heard the sound of blood hitting the ground, and flesh being cut through.
After running for quite a while, Toboe and Rain caught up to Kiba's side. His eyes were narrowed with pain and frustration for leaving his pack members, but he kept going without a word. He obviously heard what Toboe had when they left.
It was quiet now, but Darcia could still be watching and following them. The only thing heard was their hurried pawsteps. When they went over another wall of boulders, Rain gasped at a wide open, ice and snow field that seemed to never end north, south, east, or west. In every direction...
Kiba halted and set Cheza down, who seemed to be growing frail and weak by the moment. Rain stepped back and moved a bit closer to Toboe when she noticed Cheza's paws seem to stretch and grow like roots, into the ground.
Pacing nonstop, Kiba was making sure that Cheza was guarded at all angles. Just a few minutes more...if only they had that time. Hearing snarls again, Toboe whipped around, expecting to see Darcia.
Instead, he saw a very bloody two wolves limping as fast as possible towards them. As they got closer, Rain raced forward, recognizing Rowan and Tsume.
Slowing down a bit, the two wolves finally got over to Kiba and Toboe. Tsume looked ripped up pretty bad, and Rowan had her neck cut open along with other bite marks on her pelt.
Toboe dreaded the answer, but he asked, "Where is Hige?"
Rowan hung her head, and Tsume flattened what was left of his ripped ears. "He told us that he wasn't going anywhere without Blue, and that he would hold Darcia off while we came to help guard Cheza."
Kiba sighed. Hige and Blue weren't coming with them to Paradise...two friends they'd never see again. Five out of seven left, and it wasn't even near to being over if Darcia was still ready to fight.
Rain noticed something racing towards them first, and turned to look above the cliffs. Not a tan-golden wolf they wanted so badly to see...but a massive black, bi-colored eyed wolf with blood all over his jaws.
"We'll keep him away as long as possible," Rowan growled, and took off towards the wolf that wasn't too far away. Tsume followed at top speed, and Toboe could even hear it when the fighting began so far away.
The ground gradually grew redder with every passing second. Minutes passed, and the two brave loners were fighting for all they were worth. Kiba began to watch the fighting, the longing to help them clear in his golden eyes. Rain had the same look, as well as Toboe. Watching two friends, family, fight to the death was nearly killing them.
When it had been about ten minutes, and the entrance to Paradise still wasn't open, Rain yelped when a grey wolf hit the ground and didn't get up. Her blue eyes were wide, and Toboe caught her scruff when she tried to race at the fighting. "Tsume! Tsume!" She nearly snapped at Toboe with sharp fangs.
Now it was just Rowan fighting, but Tsume was still struggling to stand up. Atleast he was still alive, considering how badly they had been hit so many times in that time. During the whole fight he tried to block every blow Darcia aimed at Rowan, and it was getting back at him now.
Darcia continuously headed towards Tsume whenever he threw Rowan down. But she was just as stubborn, and attacked him again each time she stood up.
Now Toboe had let go of Rain, and both were trying not to race towards the three wolves. Toboe dug his claws into the ground when Darcia threw Rowan down, fangs in her throat, and blood formed under her in a pool when she didn't get up as well.
Now Darcia was heading straight at Kiba and the other three, abandoning the fight with the two dead-or almost dead-wolves.
Cheza was so close to opening Paradise, the wolves could feel it. Darcia ruining their chance of going to Paradise wouldn't be an option.
Lip curling, Toboe started racing at the massive black wolf. Rain followed without a sound or a second thought.
The world seemed to slow down when they were near. Toboe instinctively lunged and felt his fangs sink into Darcia's skull, almost cracking the bone. Rain snapped her jaws at Darcia's foot, tripping him to the ground easily so he couldn't make an attack at Toboe.
Darcia whipped around and clamped his jaws down on the back of Rain's neck, but dropped her when he felt a wolf ram it's head in his jaw. Turning to look, Toboe saw Tsume and Rowan out of the corner of his eye.
They were limping badly, and the two younger wolves had to distract Darcia quickly whenever they attacked, so they would be hit instead of the other two, who didn't need any more serious blows or they would be dead.
(this one is cut short because I couldn't find a good ending, and the last one will be long)
