"They actually believe they are in Paradise," observed a young woman in a white labcoat, staring down with crossed arms at two wolves strapped to one metal table each, chains around their neck and torso keeping them down. Wires were attatched to the wolves through the skull, running down to the computers on the other side of the room. The woman could see blood smeared on the table underneath both wolves.

"Yes, I suppose it's been proven at long last; Paradise does not exist." An older man maybe in his fourties nodded, writing something down on a clipboard, glancing at the grey and the white wolf who were in deep sleep. "But they're so connected through mind that both are in the same 'dream'."

The bullet-proof glass that cut them off from the wolves provided protection in case either became concious. The young woman glanced at her companion. "You say they found them at the edge of New York?"

"Yes," he answered after some thought, "along with four corpses and two other unconcious wolves."

Her dark blue eyes narrowed. "Where were the others sent?"

The old man shook his head, as if it should have been obvious. "On the seventeenth floor, of course." With that, he turned and headed back down the hall to the labratory. The woman remained and put a hand to the glass, watching the heavily sedated wolves.

"I'll get you out of here...promise." Then the blonde turned on her heel and left.

The woman stepped out of the glass elevator onto the seventeenth floor, turning and heading down the hall, glancing at the right side of the building where the clear cells were at. No wolves yet.

She noticed no one around and sped up a little bit, and got to the last cell in the hall. Sure enough, she could see a large but lean, definately scrawny young red wolf lying on his side, strapped to a table like the other two.

What was his name? Toboe...something like that. Her blue eyes widened in realization that the grey wolf on the fifth floor was another familiar one. When she thought about the white one she almost remembered, but then realized that she had been told it was a female. So Kiba is still around somewhere, she thought.

A loud sneeze made the woman jump, even if she should have recognized the sound by now. Dryly, she turned around and saw the light brown haired man walking towards her, blinking and trying not to sneeze again. "Hubb, don't you have any allergy pills or something?"

"Yeah-but-...left...at...home-CHOO!" A few more sneezes later he managed to lift his head. "Have you found them, Cher?" He spoke a tone lower, even if no one else but them were on this floor.

Cher rolled her eyes slightly, and looked back at the glass wall, watching the red wolf. "Two of them. There's another white wolf but it's not one of the others we knew before."

For a moment Cher wondered why they were looking for all the wolves again in the first place. Seeing them drag in the grey wolf a few weeks ago had jogged her memory, Hubb's as well, into a different lifetime. It was almost unbelievable, but it all looked so real...

"What are we even doing, Hubb? If they were found at the edge of New York...there is no Paradise. Everything we were helping them go after the last time...it was all something made up by the Nobles. Even Lord Darcia was going after something that was never there. We made the Flower Maiden, Cheza, of course some fairy tale wasn't going to come true-" Cher cut off, watching as the red wolf suddenly seemed to twitch. She swore she saw his eyes flicker open for a few seconds, before she blinked and all was still once more. Had he just...? And at the mention of Cheza...

The voice stopped, leaving Toboe standing in his tracks with a confused expression. He'd been following this voice, this whisper he could barely hear, for what seemed like a very long time. A second one had joined it, driving him even more forward. But now it had stopped! What was he going to do now?

Without warning the vision of his Paradise faded, leaving him in darkness, before he blinked and a bright light shined in his eyes. A whimper escaped his throat.

"Hubb! Do you hear that?!" Cher put both hands on the glass, listening, hearing a whimper come from the wolf. "He's awake!" And it won't be long until the scientists come knock him out again.

Hubb had already raced over to see for himself, and sure enough, the red wolf was stirring. Only a little, but still he was moving.

"Toboe!" Cher said immediately. He had to wake up...get out while he could...or he'd be stuck here being experimented on for years until he was dead.

The wolf looked like it was trying to lift it's head, but the sedation must've been working too well. They had to do something, fast...if they were going to get him out of there.

But the alarms went off down the hall. Cher half thought they realized that the wolf was moving, but instead people in armor were going a seperate way down the hall.

Cher lifted her head, hearing a snarling even from the many floors below...the fifth floor. Of course.

Waking up strapped to a steel table? Not a very good thing, perhaps the worst and most frightening. But mostly annoying, Rowan thought as she lunged up growling, shredding the muzzle put around her jaw and the chains breaking in half.

Her first instinct was to run, as her mate was already on the floor pacing to find a way out. But when the metal door shoved open and people started running in, her lip curled in an immediate snarl. Within seconds the humans in white lab coats were on the ground in pools of red.

Rowan's mind was racing. One moment she had been in Paradise with Tsume looking for the others, the next she was in a labratory with wires stuck into her flesh. Still growling, she turned her head and yanked the last wire from her shoulder, throwing it to the floor.

The grey wolf now beside her started to run towards the open doors, but they slid just automatically, and locked. Rowan whipped around and saw the glass. On que as if they were talking outloud to eachother, they lunged and broke through the large window, landing on the concrete in the hall, and forcing many onlookers to back up or take off running.

Rowan barely noticed the shattering noise it made, and started racing down the hall, not knowing where to go but only that she shouldn't stop. Tsume was at her side in a few moments, and then a single pawstep ahead the rest of the way.

What's going on? She snarled, not slowing down as the turned a corner.

No idea, but don't stop running! Was the answer, and Rowan took the advice wisely.

She probably would have never stopped running until they found a way out, but a scent hit her like a car, forcing her to skid and nearly trip in her ordeal to halt. Tsume glanced behind him, then stopped as well. "Are you insane?!" He yelled at her angrily.

"Don't you notice that?" Rowan turned her head towards the stairs beside the elevator they had just passed. Something high up...No, someone, not something.

Tsume sniffed slightly, ready to take off running when he said no, but his plans changed as he hesitated. "...Toboe?"

Rowan nodded absentmindedly, before lunging towards the steel staircase and racing upwards at an unearthly pace, not suprised when her grey companion passed her even faster. He'd always been closer to the runt than anyone...not counting Rain, of course.

She almost smirked when she looked over the edge of the staircase, watching the armored humans with guns passing the stairs completely, thinking the two wolves had headed down the hall. Rowan sped up to catch up with Tsume and nearly ran into a wall trying to stop and turn after him when he left the stairs into another hallway.

Rowan pinned her ears back at the sound of her claws scraping against the concrete, but found it easy to ignore when her mind set back on the scent of Toboe. It was closer, definately-

Damn.

Rowan halted as Tsume did, their fangs bared and snarling harshly, loudly, at two humans a few paces away, in their way. Rowan warned them with a snap to back off and let them pass. But they didn't budge.

She took a step towards them, preparing to lunge over or even knock them to the ground with a slit to the throat, but Tsume suddenly got infront of her, still facing the humans but no longer hostile.

What the hell are you-

Quiet! I know them.

Rowan's eyes darkened and narrowed in suspicion, taking in the blonde woman and the dark brown haired man. She noticed they had no weapons, and the suprised expressions were clear on their face.

She was suprised herself as the woman began to speak to them. "You're...awake! I-I'll cut to the point. Your friend is in the cell just behind of us, and the others are probably on seperate floors-"

But she never finished. Tsume and Rowan started racing at them, forcing the two humans to move to the side so the wolves could head towards the cell, already hitting the glass and shattering it into shards on the floor.

Rowan ignored as her shoulder was cut and blood dripped to the floor, but the scent was stronger than anything in the room, making the red wolf on the steel table to wake up immediately.

His eyes were a burning amber as usual, and after focusing they turned on Tsume and Rowan.

"Tsume! Rowan!?" He sounded just as confused as Rowan felt, but she ignored the yelp and helped Tsume rip the restrains apart, chains falling on the floor and wires being torn out quickly so the younger wolf wouldn't notice the pain.

Rowan bit his scruff and helped him off the table, then nudged him to his paws. "C'mon, kid."

Toboe was still heavily sedated, and a bit weak on his paws. The confusion of what was going on didn't help. "What about Paradise..."

"Don't worry about it," Tsume snapped, going to his other side to help, however. "Let's just get out of here."

Rowan nodded in agreement and helped the young wolf down the hall. The armored humans were still searching for them, so they chose to be more quiet about their escape and luckily found an exit that was only supposed to be used for in a fire. We don't have to worry about the alarms going off, they already are, Rowan thought in relief as they raced away.

She almost skidded to a halt as her eyes took in her surroundings. A frozen plain all around them, going on for miles, the building they just got out of being the only one there. One thing was for sure; they weren't in a new life, it was still the same one as before...

Until the day I die
I'll spill my heart for you, for you
Until the day I die
I'll spill my heart for you

As years go by
I race the clock with you
But if you died right now
You know that I'd die to
I'd die too
