  "Dusty"I begged sitting down.  "you don't have to listen to him dust.He's a nobody" Ralph said with a smirk.  "Ralph,knock this crap off" I said. "What's your problem......" Dusty asked. "Dusty I said pick him or me your choice now,I'm not gona wait for ever"I said getting up and looking her straight in to the eyes. "Kodi I pick ralph" she said with tear's in her eyes. Ralph smiled. "You pick this guy,over me"I asked "why?"I said . "oh someone's jealous?" Ralph said. "Kodi,.....I don't........mean it like that"She said.

         I shook my head and said this can't be happening."rejection"I kept saying in my mind."Whatever"i said,I started off to a jog then into a sprint."Kodi"Dusty yelled. "Kodi wait up"she said in a distance.I took off running towards the beach.This was all so true,I knew it was gona happen why did I gamble my heart out like that,In the end I lost everything.

      "Ralph, I think I really hurt him"Dusty said."awww dust he'll be fine he just need's some time"Ralph said trying to comfort dusty.He licked her on the nose and she giggled,then smiled. "Come on Dusty lets get inside"Ralph said nudging dusty inside the boiler room.As soon as was in Ralph laid down but the boiler and fell asleep.Dusty laid next to him but just couldn't sleep.she turned one side to the other.Kodi was on her mind.Kodi Kodi,what If I hurt him.

          I ran to the beach thenfinally stoped to catch my breath.I sat down and looked at the geese flying over the ocean.I closed my eyes for minute then herd my name being called."Kodi,.....Kodi".I opened my eyes and turned around to see dusty."What do you want" I asked in light growl. "I snuck off to talk to you"dusty said."It's late you should be in bed"I said starting to walk towards town. "Late?"she asked. "Kodi I need to talk to you"she said getting in front of me."why me" i stoped then said. "what about Ralph he will surely talk to you".I chuckled "Kodi don't act like a kid"Dusty said.

   "Kid?Oh please Dusty don't make me laugh"I said."Kodi they way i treated you was wrong by playing with your heart,but I'm.........I........I just don't like the way  you would like me to" she said. "okay?"I said looking at her. "Kodi,your nice guy and all but your just not my type.I'll bet there's a girl just right for you out there for you" Dusty said. I got close to her and with oust thinking I started to lick her face thenher check.She didnt stop me,at all then I stopped but she started to lick my cheeck then my muzzle.Then she pulled away.

     "kodi!"she said."what"I asked."oh nothing"she said."let me walk you home dust"I walked her to her house and went inside with her.It went all down hill from there.I woke being next to Dusty.thought ran in and out of my mind.Dusty was sound asleep.Then she woke up. "Dusty I'm sorry"I said backing up. "Kodi,where......Kodi"she said."Dusty I got go"I siad."Ralph's gona kill me I kept saying."kodi"Dusty said."What"I asked."This dosen't get out this never happened okay"she said with worry."not a word"I said.

  I headed towards the postoffice to see Ralph and kirby."Hey kirby"I said. "Hello kodi"Kirby said.Ralph didn't look at me."what punk"he said getting up. "You seen dusty?"ralph asked me."yep she's at home I think"I said trying to play it off. "So what's going on?"Kirby asked."Nothing why?"I asked."uh huh sure"Kirby said."I swear"I said.Kirby shook his head.

                                                                   A month later

            I was at home with my boy jack.Jack was palying was his toy car's.I looked at the window to see Dusty.Dusty headed up the stairs then through my doggie door."Hi Kodi"she said.I could tell she was worried."what's wrong"I asked. "Kodi,I got good news and bad news"Dusty said."Good new's me an Ralph are officially mates"she said."Congrat's"I said not really but whatever."Kodi the bad new's is I'm pregnant"She said in a low whisper."You and Ralph must be excited and how's that bad .I thought  you allways wanted pup's"I said with joy in my voice."Kodi their your's"she said looking up."Mine are you sure?They could be Ralph's you never know"I said trying to change the subject.

         "Kodi I know there your's"she said."Have you told Ralph and how long are you on the way "I asked conserned about Dusty."Five week's"She said looking up at me."The can be due at any time.Kodi what am I gona do"she said starting to cry."What about Ralph he's gona kill me and kill you kodi but"She yelled. "Dusty,If I know Ralph he's gona exept you and the pup's!On the other hand he's gona kill me."I said with a grin."Oh kodi"she said nuzzling me."And if he dosen't you still have me,just kidding"I said trying to cheer her up."Kodi this isn't a time to joke around!"Dusty yelled.

     "Ok so you gonna tell him?"I asked."I gona have to tell him sooner or later right?"She said looking at me."I guess i'll tell him tonight"Dusty whispered breathing slowly."Ok want me to go with you?"I asked."No this is my mistake and I will tell him bymyself."She said.Dusty headed off towards the town.I watched till she was out of site than I went in."poor dusty"

      Dusty arrived at Ralph's house.She was breathing harder and harder and now she was starting to shake.Ralph came to the door."Hello Ralph" Dusty said trying to act totally nomarel.She closed her eyes then opened."Come in Dusty"Ralph said."How you been, hon"He asked laying on the floor."Ralph I need to tell you somthing"Dusty said then got quiet."What is it are you hurt"he asked."No ralph,I'm pregnant"Dusty said in a hush tone."That's great when you due"Ralph said with a grin."Ralph their.......not.......yours"Dusty said waiting for his reaction."I'm sorry it's my fault"Dusty began to sob."Dusty it's fine. I would never be mad about that. Who are they's so I can ....."Ralph said."That's somthing I can't tell Ralph"Dusty said."Oh, I know their Kodi's. Dang i knew this was comming"Ralph said with anger and started to lash out at everthing in his path.

"Ralph come down,and don't you lay a paw on Kodi"Dusty said standing in front of him."Don't make this harder and just move Dusty" Ralph said walking around me."Ralph"Dusty yelled.He started to head towards where Kodi lived."I know what, I'll take a short cut and tell Kodi"Dusty said taking the back alley road.Confustion and frustation ran through Dusty's mind."Dang Kodi is sure in for it"Dusty said.Dusty finally made to my house.Dusty ran up the stair's even though it hurt her stomache ."kodi Kodi"She yelled louder and louder each time.I ran out, and came towards Dusty."Dust you okay"I asked."I'm fine but your not.  Kodi you have to run now.  Ralph is comming and he want to kill you. Kodi look......  Ralph had pushed me over.I laid there for a lilttle while then I got up and headed over to Ralph. "Messing with Dusty are we"Ralph said.

     "look here punk your not her body gaurd"I said.Then he hit me in the jaw."who said I wasn't"Ralph said getting redy to hit me again.I ducked then said."It was an honest mistake Ralph. Please forgive me"I asked whiping the blood from my mouth on my fur."Stop it Ralph" Dusty begged."Forgive you let's see.how about not"Ralph said as he lunged for my throat.Then the fight was on.I could hear skin being ripped.I finally got him in down to the ground.He didn't move then he was able to knowck me over. He went for my throat but I happen to lunge away.Dusty ran in front of him standing over me."If you want to kill him.Then you should kill me too!!!!"Dusty said with tears in her eyes.

        "This ain't over mutt." Ralph said running off."Ralph"Dusty yelled.  "Kodi will you be fine to walk your self home" Dusty asked softly.  "Yeah" I said.Dusty tried to smile somewhat then said.  "He is my mate you know.Kodi you'll only be my friend,  and my friend only.Don't ever think of yourself as any thing more than that.Kodi this mean's......" I enterupted her. "What" I asked. She shook her head and headed off. "Dusty"I yelled.She was out of site.My right front leg hurt. I limpted home.I tried to think what she was fixing to say. "This means goodbye?" I thought. I could'nt think straight with my body all banged up.

     I made it home.I headed up the staired to my dog bed.I laid there and sighed as I stared out the window to look at the stars.I shook my head. "What was I thinking"  I said.My mind was full of so many thing I though my head would explode.I closed my eyes and fell asleep.
