Sean and Aleu walked around Nome the entire day. They went to the boiler room, watched Kodi return from the mail run, then just walked through the town. It was dark, and they were sitting in the boiler room with Dusty and Kodi. They were planning to go up the mountains to see the Northern Lights, and Kodi was also planning to tell Dusty that he liked her. He told Aleu this, and she said that she'd come so she could help him.
"I guess we'll have to cancel the trip to the mountains tonight to see the Northern Lights." said Kodi, looking through the window.
"What do you mean?" asked Dusty.
"Have a look." Kodi said then stepped away from the window.
Dusty looked outside. A blizzard was starting, so they would have to stay inside. "Maybe tomorrow then." Dusty said.
"Yeah." Kodi replied sadly.
"I think we could still see them." Aleu announced.
"What?" said Sean.
"The Northern Lights. I know a way where we could still see them tonight." said Aleu.
" Um, okay then, lead the way Aleu." said Kodi.
Aleu lead Kodi, Dusty, and Sean to the spot in the boiler room where Balto showed Jenna the northern lights. Balto had told aleu about this, and how to use the bottles, so she quietly told Kodi, then they stood right next to the bottles.
"Oky, let me see..." began Aleu.
"Ice caps....sun....to the north....and...we have the Norhern lights." said Aleu.
The four of them watched the colors of the lights silently moving across the wall and changing colors.
"It's beautiful." said Sean.
Then Kodi began to speak to Dusty. Aleu and sEan stepped away to let them talk in private.
"Kodi, this is amazing." said Dusty.
"Yeah, it sure is. But look, Dusty, theres something I want to tell you. But I don't know exactly how to say it cause I don't want it to ruin our friendship if you don't feel the same way..." Kodi said, not sure what to say next.
"Kodi, I like you too." said Dusty quietly.
"Yeah, I know this sounds stupid but, what?" Kodi said.
"I like you." Dusty repeated. Then she nuzzled Kodi and they sat, watched the colors of the lights twist and change.
"But I thought you liked Ralph. After all, you nuzzled him after Kirby slpashed him." said Kodi.
"I don't like him. I just did that playfully, besides, you're the one I like." said Dusty.
Then Aleu and Sean stepped back into the room.
"Something tells me you two had a very nice conversation." said Sean.
"Shut up." said Dusty jokingly.
"Aleu, it's been nice today. But I got to return to my owner, but, meet me here tomorrow, okay?" said Sean.
"Okay." Said Aleu.
Then Aleu decided that since it was getting very late, she would head back to Balto's ship.

Aleu walked through the storm. It was beginning to calm down, so it was easy for her to walk. In the distance she could she the lantern in Balto's ship glowing. As Aleu walked on, she felt like she was being watched.
"Sean?" said Aleu.
"Aleu?" said a voice.
"Who are you? You're not Sean!" said Aleu and then someone stepped out of the shadows.
"It is you, my how you've grown." said a brown husky with and white muzzle wearing a blue color.
"Who are you?" Aleu said. she felt like she knew this husky, but she could not remember him.
"You don't remember me? I figured that. It's me, Jake." said the husky.
Then it all came back to her. Jake was Aleu's friend from puppy hood.
"Jake? Oh my gosh! I haven't seen you in years!" exclaimed Aleu.
"Yeah. Hey, just wondering but woud you like to meet me in the boiler room tomorrow night to catch up on things?" Jake asked.
"Oh." said Aleu remembering that thats we she'd meet Sean tomorrow night. "Actually I already have plans that day." Aleu said.
"How about tomorrow morning then?" said Jake.
"Um, I guess thats fine." Aleu replied.
"Great. See ya tomorrow then." said Jake before running off.
Aleu continued walking towards her father's boat.
"Does Jake like me?" Aleu thought quietly. She hoped not. After all, she liked Sean and she thought that he may like her so she did not want to hurt Jake's feelings if he did like her.
"I'm probably wrong." Aleu thouht.
Finally she reached the boat and fell asleep.
Day 2...
Aleu woke up before Balto and decided to sneak out of the boat to meet Jake.
Aleu crept into the town and looked for him. Finally, she found Jake in an alley. But he was talking to two other dogs. She hide and trid to listen to their conversation.
"Look guys. I said that I'm supposed to meet her now, so when she comes I'll trap her and bring her to you."said Jake.
"Good. Only she can help us get what we want." said one of the dogs.
"Then when we get our information...we'll kill her. Deal?" asked the other dog.
Jake paused for a moment to think. "Yes." he replied.
Aleu couldn't believe what she had just heard. She was shocked that her friend from puppyhood would want to hurt her, actually kill her. Then Aleu's feeling of shocked changed to panic and fear.
"I've got to get out of here." she thought.
She began to back up and then she banged into a garbage pail and knocked it over.
"Did you hear that?" said one of the dogs.
"Don't let whoever that is escape!" snarled one of the dogs and then they broke into a run searching for the unknown dog.
Aleu darted out of the alley and bumped into another dog. It was a another wolfdog that she had never saw before. He was brown and had markings simliar to Baltos'.
"Follow me if you want to escape." he said.
Aleu didn't know what to do, but when she heard Jake and the others coming, she followed him. He lead her to a empty shack in a corner of the town and together they waited until they thought it was safe.
"Thanks for helping me, uhh..."Aleu began.
"Jacob Tiberius, but I perfer not to be called that. So, you can just call me Jacob or J.T., whatever you want." he said.
"Oh. I'm Aleu." Aleu said.
"At least you have a normal name." J.T. said.
"So you know any of those dogs?" aleu asked.
"Actually yes. I know Jake. What a pleasant fellow he is." Jacob sarcastically.
"Oh, I USED to be friends with him. Until I found out he was trying to get information from me then kill me." Aleu said.
"Well he won't find you know. Hey, are you part wolf too?" Jacob asked.
"Yes, my father is half wolf and half dog while my mother is a purebred husky." Aleu said.
"Oh. My mother is a dog and my father is a wolf." Jacob said quietly.
"What are their names?" Aleu asked.
"Jacob, which is how I got my name, and my mother's name was Kaya." Jacob said.
"You sound sad, why?" Aleu asked.
"Well let's just say my life has been nothing but bad luck. My father and mother got into a fight when i was younger and they separated. The next day my mother disappeared and I found out that she had went looking for my father telling him that I shouldn't have a life like this and when she did find him, was dead, killed by aother clan member who then attacked and killed my mother. I know this because wolves would see me and say the each other, thats the pup, you know the ones whose parents were killed by that maniac." Jacob said.
"I'm so sorry." Aleu said.
"Don't be. People say that but it makes no sense. After all, they didn't do anything and its like their apologizing, but they did nothing wrong." Jacob said.
"Ok. Well I better get going."Aleu said.
"Alright. Stay away from Jake and stay safe." Jacob said.
"Bye....Um, I'm in a rush, so I'll call you J.T. Bye J.T.!" Aleu called.

Sean waited for Aleu in the boiler room. After much pacing, she arrived.
"Sorry I'm late. I had...well...something to be wary of." Aleu said.
"What do you mean?"asked Sean.
"Well I meet my old friend Jake." Aleu began.
"And this is a tradegy because..."Sean added.
"Because I over heard him talking to ther dogs and guess what! He wants to kill me!" Aleu said.
"Are you sure you heard him right?" asked Sean.
"Sean I have the ears of a wolf. I know what I heard."Aleu said.
"Well in that case, where is the guy? I'll give him a fight he'll never forget." Sean said.
"Sean, no. I need to find out what he wants." Aleu said.
"Fine, I'll talk to him." Sean said.
"No, Sean. I can take care of myself. I'm no one's baby. I know how to deal with this." said Aleu.
"Ok, sorry for trying to help!" Sean snapped, then walked off.
"Sean, wait."Aleu said, but Sean kept walking.
"Fine! I don't want you around anyway!!!" Aleu yelled then stormed off in the opposite direction.
Aleu went to the boiler room and met Dingo and Kodi inside.
"Something wrong, Aleu?" Kodi asked his sister as she stomped into the room.
"Yeah, but theres nothing you can do." Aleu mumbled.
"What?" Kodi asked.
"Nothing. I'm going to go and see if papas around." Aleu said then ran off to find Balto.
She trotted through a town and came to an alley. On the other side was Jenna's house, and since she had already checked the boat and her father wasn't there, she knew Balto must be at Jenna's house.
She looked around.
"Empty..." Aleu said to herself. Then she began towalk through the alley.
AS she was walking, she thought she heard something move to her left. She stopped. She didn't see anyone.
"It was probably just my imagination." she thought.
Suddenly something struck her on her side and she was thrown against the wall. The force of the blow was causing her to black out, but as she lost her sight, she saw four paws moving towards her, then nothing.
