...Balto left Jenna with puppies to give her refreshment. He went for a walk to think about his newborn pups, and the one, Tina, who was weak. While walking around the town, he saw a black little dot. There was lots of snow around this dot. He was curios about what is it. He went down to this thing, dig out the snow. He was suprised from what he saw. A little puppy was sleeping outside without his parents. Balto took him to his boat. He put the puppy into his warm blanket and then he went to Jenna.
"Jenna...Jenna!" Balto called out.
"What is it Balto?" Jenna replied.
" Hi....how are the pups?" Balto started.
(Jenna)" Puppies? They are fine...Tina feels better, people gave her something, now she joined her brothers and sisters and she started eating. She was very hungry...What happen? I think you came to me not only to ask me how the puppies are doing?"
(Balto)" Yeah, you're right. I was on my way to home when I found something..."
(Jenna)" What? Is there something wrong?"
(Balto)" No...not really... I found little pup sleeping on the snow... There was no parents around. I think he got lost...I took him with me, he could die there"
(Jenna)" Yes, of course, where is he now? Is he big or like our ones?"
(Balto)" He's very much like ours... maybe a little bit older"
(Jenna)"Bring him here then... Let me give him something to eat, he must he starving"
(Balto)" Ok...Oh, Jenna..."
(Jenna)" What Balto?"
(Balto)"I'm so glad I have you"
(Jenna)" I love you too, Balto..."
While Balto and Jenna were taking care of their new pup, there was something going on in Steele's family. Anna didn't live in one house with Steele, she had her owners. Steele was excited because Anna was expecting his new puppies. She wasn't feeling well. The puppies were so big that they couldn't go out so quickly as she would like to.
Finally they came out. Four cute puppies. There were 3 boys and a girl. Licking them on their little bodies Anna could only think how Steele should be here, with their new family. Her master was about to name their pups that will probably stick with them for long.
Anna's firstborn was a black, brown and white girl, which was named Susie. She happened to be the only girl in the litter. The second pup was also mainly black, having some tan and white markings. Anna's owner named him Cobalt. He was proud of Anna having Steele's pups and wanted to reflect it by giving the boys names of metals, just like Steele. The tan border collie loved the name straight away. Third pup, although the second youngest, was the smallest out of the boys. It was obvious the pup got Anna's petite body, but the man knew the pup was going to grow big and strong, as pups tend to do. He named the pup after one of the strongest transition metals, Titanium. The last pup, which resembled Steele in a way although being same color as Anna was named Iron. Anna smiled at mentioning her youngest baby's name, knowing Steele would love it.
Balto came to Jenna and gave her little sleeping puppy. Jenna took him to her warm furry belly and showed him the way to get to milk. He quickly found it and then ate like little bear. Jenna said:
" Now we have to give him a name. He looks like border collie"
(Balto)" Yes....Let us call him....."
(Jenna)" Jusper!"
(Balto)" Yes! Jusper....."
(Jenna)"My beautiful little Jusper.....I will never leave you darling..."
(Balto)" Our son......."
Some weeks later Jenna's little ones started to come outside to play. They were curious about what surrounded them. Jenna and Balto had to keep an eye on all of them, because they never knew what idea could come to their puppies minds. Their seven little doggies loved to play outside, specially Jusper, so whenever there was a chance, he went outside. While Balto and Jenna were busy looking after their fast growing pups, Anna had to do most of the job alone. Steele was a popular dog which prevented him from seeing the pups as often as a father should. He wasn't the kind of dog that had his fatherly instincts in his blood. His own father didn't pay much attention to his kids which affected Steele's attitude towards pups. However, despite that, he managed to visit the pups once in a while, especially to see his sons. Steele was very excited to have sons like Cobalt and Iron as they resembled his own presence. He always focused on them to make sure they grow to be as strong and handsome as him. Titanium was the one that got to see Steele the least as he was soon adopted. Never being visited by his father at his new place, Titanium decided to become like Steele without his help. The only daughter Susie however, always wanted to please Steele, so she tried to imitate Iron, the most favored pup.
One day while Balto and Jenna's puppies were playing outside, Susie came to her mum and said:
" Mommy! Can I go outside to play, please?"
(Anna)" Yes, of course, you can play outside......"
(Susie)" Thanks mum! See you later!"
Anna didn't know that she is not talking about her and her brothers. She meant herself. Alone......
Susie went outside happy, chasing butterflies, and then she found that she's not near her home, and she cannot see it. Then her play was't so nice. But her scaredness went away when she saw seven little doggies playing on the beach. She went to join them.
(Susie)" Hi there! Can I play with you?"
No one could see her because everybody were busy. Then Jusper saw her looking with bored eyes.
(Jusper)" Hi! Do you want to play with us?"
(Susie)" Yeah, suuuuure!!!!"
(Jusper)" So come on! What's your name?"
(Susie)" My name's Susie"
(Jusper)" Hi Susie! I'm Jusper. Do you live here?"
(Susie)" Yes, here.....some where here..."
(Jusper)" Ok, so you can stay longer?"
(Susie)" Err...I don't know...."
(Jusper)" Ok, so don't waste time come here!"
They spend nice time playing together, until there came a time to go home. Balto and Jenna came for their pups.
(Jenna)" Ringo! Chino! Tina! Ginger! Boozer! Dory! Jusper! Come here! Time to go home!"
" Oh Nooooo..........................We don't wanna go home......." the puppies replied.
(Jenna)" I'm sorry, but you have to eat something and go to sleep....Now come on!"
All of the puppies went inside, but....Where is Jusper?
(Balto)" And what about Jusper? Jusper!"
(Jusper)" Yes....I know....ehm...I'm coming...Papa, Momma look! I got a new friend!"
(Balto)" Oh how nice...Can we meet her or him?
(Jusper)" Yeah, sure! Her name is Susie. She lives near us."
(Jenna)" Hello Susie!"
(Balto)" Hello!"
(Susie)" Hello Jusper's parents!"
(Jenna)" Susie, where do you live. It's evening, your parents may be worry. You should go home now..."
(Susie)"Ehm...yeah but I'm very hungry, and I've told my momma that I will be longer...."
(Jenna)"Balto, may be could take her for a dinner and then take her home, she shouldn't go alone and if we miss the dinner the pups will cry whole night..."
(Balto)"Hmm...Ok, Susie! We will take you for a dinner and then we gonna go with you"
(Susie)"Ok"
They went to fet their dinner and then, as Jenna sugested, went with Susie to get her save to home.
"Momma....I, I, I'm home..."Susie said with a thin voice.
"Susie, baby, where have you been, I was so worried!" Anna said hardly hugging Susie.
"Mum, I'm so sorry, I didn't know that..."Susie tried to explaing while Steele came in and said:
"Susie!!!Susie!!!!!!!Where are you, you stupid dog?!"
"Steele, calm down...That's not her fault..." Anna tried to protect Susie.
"What?!?! That she didn't came on tiume is not her fault?!?!?!" Steele replied even more angry "Do you think I will allow my child to came so late?!?! Do you think she will avoid her sanction?!?!NEVER!!!Susie!!!COME HERE!!!"
"Yes daddy....." Susie said quietly.
"Give me the right reason of why you was so late!!" Steele barked at her.
"That wasn't my fault, I didn't know that it is late afternoon, and I was playing with my friend...then his parents took me to the dinner, because they wanted to go with me, and they didn't want me to go alone..."
"WHAT?!?!YOU ate a dinner with dogs what you even don't know?!?!?!?!Go to your bed I don't want to see you here until tomorrow!!!!!!"Steele barked at her with very big anger. Susie went to her bed crying. She hide her head in her blanket, so no one could see if she's in there. Anna was worried. She didn't want Steele to be so much angry on his daughter. She respects him and he even doesn't want to play with her.
"Steele, honey, calm down, you shouldn't bark at her like that, she's your daughter. Each time she sees you she want to hug you but you are too busy with Iron, she's jealous. She needs you Steele, you're her father"
"But I can't show her that I allow coming so late!And that's not true, I am playing with her sometimes, Iron and Thunder needs me as well I can't play all the time with her!!" Steele replied.
"But SHE needs you as well! Don't you see that? Don't you see how much she wants some good words from you? Think about her, she's your daughter! Don't focus only on the boys, she's a part of you too" Anna said and then went to Susie.
"Susie...Susie...are you sleeping..?" Anna said with soft voice. Susie turned her head forward to see her mum, but she didn't came out of a blanket.
"I'm sorry momma, are you angry at me? I didn't want to make daddy angry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" Susie said crying.
"No honey, I'm not angry at you, come here....Daddy was shouting so much because he was so worried about you, he didn't know what is happening..." Anna tried to cheer Susie up.
"But he's angry at me and he doesn't like me now....." Susie cried.
"No Susie, daddy loves you very much, it is just because he was so worried..." Anna replied.
"Really...?" Susie asked.
"Yes, of course.....now don't thing about bad things, and go to sleep" Anna replied.
"Ok momma...oh momma?" Susie said.
"Yes?"
"I love you mommy...."Susie said with a smile on her face.
"I love you too Susie, sleep well..."Anna said and went to her bed.
Everyday from when Jusper and Susie met, they were playing with each other. Even if the rest of Jusper's sliblings were tired, Jusper and Susie were continuing without them. They both liked to chase the birds, swimming and running. They were best friends. But there came the time which change their life very much. Susie went home after playing with Jusper. She saw her owners walking around and around. She asked her mum:
"Momma, what's happening? Why these people are running?"
"Susie...ugh... I have to say you that unfortunately we are moving, and you are not gonna see your friend anymore" Anna said sadly.
"What? Momma, noo.....his my best freind, don't do that to me.....Do we have to move? I can stay." Susie cried.
"No Susie, you're not staying, you are going with us" Anna said hardly.
When they were all packed, people took all dogs and went to the new place. Susie didn't want to go so she hope up behind the wardrobe. They all were ready when suddenly Iron recognized: ' where is my sister?'. He said:
"Momma, I left something...." and he quickly returned to the house.
"Susie! Susie! Where are you?!" he cried out. He didn't hear anything so he used his nose to find her. When people moved the wardrobe, Susie was no more hidden.
"Susie! Here you are! Come on, we're going!" he said.
"I'm not going" Susie replied.
"What? Susie, don't do that, just come!" Iron said to her.
"NO!" She barked. Iron didn't want to waste time so he just catched her on her neck and carry to their mum.
"Momma, I brought Susie" Said proud Iron.
"Let off Iron!" Susie barked.
"Ok" Iron said and she dropped down.
"Oh thank you honey! Susie, where have you been?Did you want to stay?" Anna asked.
"Yeah mum..." Susie said quietly.
" Oh Susie, you gonna find new friends near to our new place, you'll see, and now you have two wonderfull brothers who didn't want to leave you there" Anna explained.
" ...Ok.." Susie finally agreed.
After a while, Jusper recognized that Susie doesn't come to him anymore. First days he thought that it is just because she's sick or just doesn't feel very well. Now he was worried about her. He was playing with his sliblings but he could play too long because when they got bored outside, they wnet inside the house. Now he didn't have a friend who is always there for him like Susie was. He spend whole day sitting on the beach and looking around if she gonna come. Jenna saw him sitting like that. She was worried. She asked:
"Jusper, why don't you come inside and play with your other brothers and sisters?"
"Yeah mum..."
"Ok....Are you gonna come?"
"Yeah mum..."
" So come..."
"Yeah mum..."
Jenna saw that he doesn't really want to come inside. She knew that it is because of Susie. She said:
"Jusper..."
"Yeah mum.."
" I don't think you wanna come inside and play with the rest of the pups, don't you?"
"Yeah mum..."
Jusper, what's wrong? I can see there is something..."
"Yeah mum...it's just....Susie doesn't come anymore...She was playing with me everyday...and now she doesn't come" Jusper said.
"Well Jusper, it isn't always as we want, to have our best friends around us"
"Yeah, but even if she went away, she even didn't say 'good bye' "
"Jusper, did you think why she didn't say good bye? She had to have good reason, and you cannot be angry on her because of it. If you were best friends she wouldn't leave you without saying 'good bye' if she could do that" Jenna cheered him up
"Ok momma, I'm not gonna think that way anymore...I hope she will come back.."
"I hope too...so, do you wanna come inside? It's getting cold..."
"Ok momma, we can come inside"
