Chapter Three Truth or gilt?

 Even though his mother made things brighter, he would never forgive himself for not getting help, "Mother I..I... have to tell you some thing, I...I... saw Niearmy kill Lilly Pad! I... just froze up, I was so scared mum! Don't hate me!" He cried, while nuzzling her.

"Oh my child!" Dogrose remembered the fear and gilt she felt when she saw her mother perish at Niearmys anger and hate, "It's not your fault, even though you think it's your fault it's not, don't ever think it is! Even if you had have come to get us it would of been too late, she's never coming back, and it's not your fault things just happen, I know it's hard I thought I would never be happy again after my mother died... But I found your father, he made me just as happy as she did, and then I gave birth to your sister,  you and your brother, But you need to tell your father... He needs to know the truth, I know it's not going to be easy to tell him but he needs to know..." Then his mother went back to the den, Rowkeye Sighed, and looked at the sky it began to turn Grey, and storm clouds gathered, he headed off home, ready to tell his father the truth...

He entered the cave it was dark, and now outside it began to rain, so he came in everyone else was resting, his father lay sleeping at the back of the cave still morning the loss...   Now lightning  and thunder crashed and bashed like symbols, "Father..." Rowkeye whispered nudging his father he awoke, "Yes son..?" He asked, "I it's about Lilly Pad, I saw her... Be killed, I I froze I was so scared father, I didn't know what to do..." He waited his fathers eye's turned dark and angery his pupils narrowed, claws flexed, and he growled... 

"YOU WHAT!?!" Shouted Kensuke the pack woke to see the scolding, "YOU STOOD BY AND WATCHED YOUR SISTERS DEATH?!? YOU STUPID BOY, YOU DIDN'T COME TO GET HELP? YOUR NOT SCARED JUST STUPID!!! YOU PUT YOUR BROTHER, MOTHER AND ME IN PAIN AND SORROW! WE COULD HAVE SAVED HER!!! OUT NOW! YOU STUPID UNGRATEFUL, WHIMP! IF YOU WHERE BRAVER THIS WOULD HAVE NEVER HAPPEND! This is all your fault!!!" He began to weep, he then snarled and wacked his son and sent him flying out of the cave onto the ledge, "GO! Leave me!" Kensuke sorrowed in the den Rowkeye, scared, confused, and heavy with gilt ran crying...

It was still raining and thundering, lightning crashed wind howled icey and cold... Rowkeye ran and stopped as he ran into the pond, he cried and looked at his reflection, "I'm stupid so stupid!" He slaped his reflection and water sprayed up in his face making him even wetter, he climbed up the muddy bank he stuggled to get a grip, but just managed, the mud got slippy, and he kept falling into the mud, and geting his cream fur marked, and wet, he ran til his found shelter under a rock, about 5 miles away form the den from his family, from home, it felt like a million miles to him, but he felt as if he could never return, because of what his father thought of his mistake..? It wasn't his fault really but he couldn't help what happend ever...

That same day it was still thundering, and the rain had stopped, but the clouds still filled the sky with dread, and loss, the lightning was more fierce now, it whipped at the ground, and tree's, then hit a tree near the rock Rowkeye was under sending the south forest ablaze the grass burned and Rowkeye awoke to the smell of smoke, he looked outside... the whole surroundings where set ablaze!

Rowkeye Screamed as the flames towered above him gowing higher and closer to him! He ran the flames seemed to run after him in the rush Rowkeye tripped on a tree root sticking out the ground, the fire now was only afew feet away, he ran till he cam to a massive tree, it's root towered above him he couldn't jump over, or get under, he tried to scrabble his way up he couldn't is this the end for Rowkeye?

He backed up against the root, the flames grew ever closer, he gathered his strength, and then ran forward then made a run up to the root, he went faster and faster and drew more air in, but also drew in the smoke and ashes, he got dizzy and light headed, but made one last brave leap, he he, landed on the top of the root! He made it, then jumped on the other side, but then fainted, he rolled down the hill, and was at the foot of the hawk eye Mountain, was this truly the end? Then Suddenly the heavens opend up, and it began to rain! Yes the flames where put out!

But will Rowkeye last the night? Hawk eye mountain, was a life less place hardley any grass just tall ash tree's bushes, only a river for water running beside the foot of it, bears, puma's, egals, wolverine, just as dangerous as the last, will he survive out in the open and out cold..?

Mean while...

"Nelloka! Tell Mum I'm going off to play!" Dkota called her older Brother, she ran down the slope, she laughed as she rolled down the hill landing in the only flowers that grew in the Hawk eye mountains, Clovers, and Daisy's, she walked she smelt the air a funny smell drifted through the air, she smelt a male wolf young, and hints of rosemerry fields... She followed the smell and found Rowkeye, Sprawled across the ground covered in Mud, and ashy sutt...

"Oh, poor dude..." She dragged him close up to the river, and splashed the cold water on his face, he began to come round. "*Cough* *Spluter* Who..? Why..? How..?" He got up slowly, and looked at Dkota, Niearmy's youngest child and daughter, "Hello I'm Dkota, you are?" He jumped and looked angery, "Rowkeye, son of kensuke and dogrose, hier to the throne and next pack leader! And your Niearmy's daughter why'd you rescue me! I would have helped myself!" He said looking down on her, She replied "Oi, I think I'm the one who just saved your life!" She snapped,

"Well good bye, I can manage fine on my own thanks I will find a way home on my own!" He turned his head up then walked away,  he was so busy looking all big and important he hit his head on a tree branch and fell on his back! Dkota giggled, Rowkeye blushed then carried on, "I wouldn't go that way, theres rattle snakes down there!" Rowkeye said "LA LA LA! Not listening!" He then walked down a long dirt path then suddenly sssss! A long rattle snake leaped out at him fangs ready to pirce his skin, then suddenly Dkota jumped and fought the snake she dodged it's bite and grabbed it with her teeth, then swung it around, and let go it flew off into the distance.

"Well hum hum, that was nice of you thanks..?" He blushed looking sheepish, "Why thank you great King!" Dkota laughed, "You wanna go play..?" Rowkeye asked, "Sure!" Said Dkota, so they played, "Gonna Pin you!" Taunted Rowkeye, he leaped and Dkota flipped him and pinned him down, to Rowkeye's suprise she was alittle stronger than him, "Let me up!" He blushed Dkota said "Ooow, is Rowkeye not stronger than a girl?" Giggled Dkota she let Rowkeye up they went to play in the stream, "hay take this!" Dkota splashed Rowkeye, "Oh yeah?" He skidded past her and a wave of water splashed down on her, "Hay!" She giggled, "it's a draw now!"  Rowkeye laughed so did Dkota, they went and played tag, "Tag!" Giggled Dkota, they chased each other then...

"Whoa!" Rowkeye tripped on a rock, and fell on his back "Ooof!" Dkota laughed "Your funny Rowkeye!" She giggled, Rowkeye layed thier staring up at her, she looked down on him, "Ugh, you need a bath!" Dkota giggled pinning back her ears, she then started to lick his forehead,  "Hay stop that tickles!" He laughed "right lets see how you like it!" Rowkeye tickled her, she giggled then she kissed him, Rowkeye's ears pinned back, "Oh er... I you..." Then suddenly Niearmy leaped out from behind some bushes, then she was about to swipe Rowkeye when Kensuke leaped out in front of his pup, stopping Niearmy from hitting Rowkeye, "Leave him alone Niearmy you know where that got you last time..." He growled, "Take your pup off my land Kensuke, he's not meant to be hear!" Then Rowkeye was taken home and Kensuke sat him down on the den floor...

"I'm sorry da-" He begun, but kensuke said "No, I am sorry I I, I'm sorry, Your brave and strong more wise then I am, It's not your fault you wear scared and confused, I was the same when my mother died..." Kunsuke hugged his pup, "Dad, I forgive you, I love You..." Rowkeye got snatched by his mum, "Right you BATH TIME!!" She smiled "Mum!" He giggled as she licked his tuft, he was happy to be back but woundered what had happend to Dkota...
