Chapter One:New Arrivals

It all started one day when a litter of wolf pups were born.Shadow,the alpha male,paced back and forth nervesley.Waiting for his mate too speak.

"Shadow,it's time!"a brown wolf said,eagerly.He rushed into the den to see his sister,Chips,sitting beside his mate.

The Alaskan Wilderness welcomed the first pup into the world of wolves.The pup was creme with bicolered markings.Her spindely already in motion.She nudged her to her side to nurse.A second pup had been born.The second pup was grey and white.Shadow was so happy that he barked with pride and joy.He was too busy barking too notice a third pup bring born.It was a dirty white female.Silver beamed with pride.And shortly after the third was born,two more were welcomed into the world.Twins,both were females.They looked exactly like their father,who was stareing at them both.

Shadow was as exited as could be.He darted out of the den to tell the other wolves.His daughter and two sons from one winter ago were also exited.They were called Hunter,Racer,Helper,and Thinker.Bider,on the other hand,was angry as usual.Shadow brother,Rachet,raced to him,"Congratulations,brother!"

Chapter Two:An Unpleasent Suprise

"What good news Shadow,congratulations on your new pups!"he said,slinking over to him with his tucked beneath him and his ears flat.

"Thank you..."Shadow said,looking down at Bider who was bowing before him.

Shadow left Bider to see his pups.He crawled into the den when he notice a problem...a dirty white pup.Silver knew but didn't seem to care.But Shadow cared...A LOT.

"Grr...Bider."he said under his breath

He bolted out of the den in search of that dreaded white wolf.He was to enraged to notice Bider slinking into the den to see his daughter for the first time.At first Silver growled,but her voice softend as she saw Bider gazing at the pup lovingly.But the sensation wouldn't last long.

He soon noticed that he was being ripped out of the den and flung onto a rock by Shadow.He was to weak to notice Shadow jump onto him and nearly kill him.

"I'm going to kill you Bider,i'm going to kill you for what you did to Silver."Shadow howled

"I didn't do anythink to Silver!"Bider yelped

"The white mutt pup in the litter!"Shadow growled

"Oh,whoops!?Bider barked

Shadow pounded Bider.But what was done is done.So he just bit him and then left him knocked out cold."

Chapter Three:The New World

The following eight weeks were tough for all five pups.But they were all growing and learning.

"My darling pups,are you ready to earn your names?"Silver asked

"Really?"The third born asked

"Now?"the twins asked

"Yes,now."Silver responded,walking out of the den.

One by one,the pups followed Silver out.Shadow was sitting on his rock.Eager to give his pups names.He howled to get the pack's attention.Within seconds they were all staring up at him quietly.He spoke,"My brothers and sisters,my fellow packmates,and my children,the time has come to give the new pups their names.For they are now eight weeks old."All of the pack beamed up at him.Bider looked rather hasty and fussy that Shadow would be naming his own pup.Bider thought that he better have a good name for his daughter.Or else...

The den was behind a small pond and a hill.The entrance faced the pond and a small stretch of land,so that it was half and half.And on the other side of the pond was a hill.

Silver sat at the bottom of the hill with all of the pups.Shadow looked down at them as if to say,we're ready to start.Silver pushed the first pup up the hill.It was the biclored female.She sat next to her father who said,"Will you respect the Forest Rules,will you bring gifts to this pack?"

"Um...yes daddy I will."she said egearly.

"Ok,welcome Runner.You will be swift and sure-footed,and the pack will need you."he said.

Silver nugded the next pup up the hill.Shadow asked him,"Will you respect the Forest Rules,will you bring gifts to this pack?"

"Yes,I will daddy."he said

"Welcome to the pack,Howler.You will be alert,and you will alert us of danger or moose with your howl.

Next pup was Bider's daughter.Shadow looked down angrily at the pup,then at Bider.He thought,if she dosen't say it,she's dead!

"Will you respect the Forest Rules,will you bring gifts to this pack?"

"Yes,of course I will daddy!"the little pup said

"Hmm...welcome to the pack Singer."he said,suprised she said it,daddy.She must not know.

Next,the twins walked up the hill."Will you respect the Forest Rules,will you bring gifts to the pack?"

"Of course,Daddy!"the first one said.

"And you?"he asked

"Yep!"the second said

"Ok then,welcome to the pack Maleu and Luna!"

Finally the naming process was over.Silver walked up the hill to join the pups and the pack.When she sat down,her three yearlings and mate walked up to her.Bider sat on his patch of dirt,not wanting to kerupt his leader.

Thor came up to Hunter and licked her.Bider stared at him with evil eyes.Thor backed off because he had once seen Bider's teeth in action.

There was a reason why Shadow hated Bider.It was because he and Hunter,His own daughter,were mates.

Chapter Four:Meat,sweet meat or Grass

"Come,Shadow said,It is time to hunt."

"It's time!"All the wolves echoed

It was Helper's turn to babysit the pups.So Shadow,Silver,Bider,Hunter,Thor,and Thinker set off in a single file line.

Racer another yearling came out of the forest with Dingo,who was holding a rabbit.Helper rushed to his sister and friend.Dingo handed the rabbit to helper,who dropped it to speak.

"The hunters are out to fetch some food!"Helper barked

"Wonderful,do you need help or should we follow the hunters?"Racer asked

"I could use some help!"Helper answered

Helper devoured the rabbit and went over to the pups.They eagerly rushed to him to lick his lips so that he would regurgitate the chewed up meat for them to eat.

As soon as the meat was gone,Luna went back to chewing her grass.She thought it tasted better than the meat.

Chapter Five:A Successful Hunt

Helper shot out of the den sniffing the air.The Hunters!They were successful!The pups ran out of the den as fast as they could.Helper,Racer, and Dingo burst into song about the successful hunt.The pups didn't howl they just yelped in joy.

"Here comes the Hunters."Howled the yearlings.

The Hunters sprinted around the bend and into the clearing,their bellies full from the hunt.Silver and Hunter went straight over to the pups.The pups licked their lips in order to get some food.

Chapter Eight:A Very Tragic Hunt

Once the pups were six months old they began to acomanie the adults on hunts.
