The War Part 2

Hono paced back and forth thinking about what he was going to do about the Servants of the Dark clan, just then Jade walked in she was a beautiful werewolf with fur black as night and emerald green eyes. She watches as Hono paced just then Hono’s ears perk and he notices that Jade is standing there watching him, he says “what am I going to do” she looks into his eyes and says “what you think is right” he nods and thinks some more until a idea hits him he looks at her and says “I know what we should do I must talk to the council” he walks away from Jade and towards the council area.

Hono stands before the council and scans the crowd and says “I have a idea on how to deal with the Servants of the Dark” Cor stands while everyone watches with bated breath he replies “what would you have us do” Hono looks at him and states “we must attack them at their den in the dark forest” everyone around him starts to whisper to one another and then Tal a member to the silver lake clan speaks saying “Hono you suggest we attack them in the dark forest that place is a death trap for anyone the ventures there you know what’s there” Hono nods and replies “yes I have heard the legends of a monster that only the Servants of the Dark can control a evil beast that drains the body of blood and soul” everyone in the council shudders and Hono continues saying “I tell you now I don’t believe there is such a creature of that in the dark forest and I will not stoop so low to believe in it” everyone looks at him then Rol of the valley pack says “but you remember what happened to Bru” Hono looks at her and says “yes I do” she replies “then you will recall when we found him, he had no pulse or any sight it was like he was missing something and if you remember he died that night no usually we would feel his soul cross into the realm of spirits but when he died there was no such feeling he had no soul” she goes on saying that he was last seen heading into the dark forest and didn’t come out until hours later. Hono stares at her and says “I still don’t believe he had his soul taken away it could have been something else” she replies “what then could have done that to him” he says “I don’t know” Cor says “when should we attack the Servants of the Dark Hono” he says “as soon as possible” Cor nods and says to everyone “gather your clans and ready yourselves for battle” everyone nods.

Hono runs back to his clans home which is a giant rock outcropping he looks at everyone and says “Cor has told us to prepare for battle so everyone grab your swords and armor and get ready” they look at him and go about gathering their weapons and armor. Hono looks from them to Jade who is walking towards him with a breast plate in hand he looks at it and notices a black flame is painted on it he says “what does that mean” pointing at the black flame design on the armor she replies “it represents the darkness pack and you being the only leader of the darkness clan” he stands there confused then nods and lets her put the breast plate on him.

He then grabs his sword the sheath his covered in leather dye emerald green and the pommel is brass with a blue sapphire in the hilt he draws the blade it rings from the sheath as he draws it he looks at himself in the reflection of the blade, he looks at the werewolves gathered before him they are clad in mail and they mass of werewolves stretches out before him like a sea of shining metal glinting in the sun light he says to them “today we are going to attack the Servants of the dark and destroy them once and for all” he thrusts his sword into the air and says “we fight not only to preserve the werewolf race but to keep alive our heritage for future generations” they all roar and he says “move out” they turn and march in rhythmic unison he turns from them to Jade who is standing behind him she is clad in armor with a breast plate upon her chest with her sword hanging at her side he says “I give you command of our troops once we are in the Servants of the Darks den” she nods and says “what shall I do once we are inside” he says “kill any of the servants of the dark and leave on alive I will deal with Goth myself” she bows and leaves him.

The Darkness Pack meets up with the members of the silver lake clan, the valley clan and the shadow clan. Hono meets with Rol of the valley clan, Tal of the silver lake clan and Sta of the shadow clan he says “me and my clan will take the servants of the dark den while you and your troops will stay outside to protect the entrance” Tal speaks and says “why do you have the right to enter their den why cannot any of us go with you” Hono looks at him and says “because they killed my little brother Koo and I want vengeance” Tal looks at him and nods just then Cor and the other werewolf elders step forward and Cor says “so what’s the plan” Hono says “My clan will enter the servants of the darks den and everyone else will wait outside guarding the entrance” Cor says “has everyone else agreed” they all nod and Cor says “fine Hono you will attack them in their den and everyone else will wait outside” Hono watches as they turn from him and go back to their own clans.

The massive werewolf army enters the dark forest nothing is heard except the paws of the werewolves stepping on leaves and sticks, Hono leads the group of werewolves to a clearing and in the clearing there is a lone tree standing the tree has a wide base with a hole that is a the entrance above the entrance is the skull of a deer the hole Hono notices extends down underground then into darkness. He looks towards Jade she looks back and nods she takes a tree branch and lights it on fire by striking her sword against stones, she takes the torch and enters the hole followed by the darkness clan. Hon follows behind Jade and sees the light emitted by the torch in front of him the walls of the underground lair are covered in water he looks around and notices different passage ways leading off to some unknown location. All of a sudden they enter a huge underground room covered in stalactites and stalagmites. They notice ahead of them is a tunnel with light being emitted through it they walk toward the tunnel and walk through it they come to another underground chamber lined with coffins built into the rock. The floor of the chamber was also covered in stone coffins in the center of the chamber was a rise with steps carved into it and upon the rise was a massive stone coffin.

Jade approached the rise she lifted her leg and began to walk up to the stone coffin all of a sudden a werewolf accidentally kicked a stone off of the floor, the stone flew across the chamber and hit the wall with a resounding crack the noise echoed through the chamber and then the sound dissipated. Jade stood there shocked then all the lids of the stone coffins burst open and the vampire werewolves began to stir from their slumber. Jade turns and looks at the now empty stone coffin before her and sees that no one is in it then all of a sudden a blade is thrust through her back she falls to the cave floor twitching and looks up and sees it is Goth. Goth looks at her and raises his sword to strike but Hono rushes towards him and blocks the blow he shoves Goth away from him and Jade who is now laying knocked out on the ground.

Above them the werewolves stand in a circle around the entrance to the underground lair and then from the trees arrows are let lose into the werewolf horde and many of the werewolves fall to the ground dead while others fall wounded, then Servant of the Dark troops swarm out of the woods and a vicious fight ensues. Below them the battle rages with Hono and Goth locked in a sword fight the members of the darkness clan fall in droves pooling the ground with their blood. Hono slashes at Goth but Goth parries his strike the Goth thrusts at Honos stomach but Hon blocks it. Goth looks at him and says “do you really think you and your clan can win” Hono replies “yes” then Goth says “look around” Hono looks around at the fighting and notices that many of his clan are now slain and lay upon the ground then he looks back at Goth and charges at him Goth jumps aside and stabs Hono through the chest in the space between his heart and lung. Hono feels the blade penetrate his body he falls to the ground and he try to breathe but it comes in sharp breath. He looks up at Goth and Goth says “now it ends” then everything becomes like it is in slow motion Hono’s grip on his sword tightens and he thrusts his sword through Goths chest. Goth falls to the ground saying “it isn’t possible” then he dies all the other vampire werewolves automatically die when he does.

Hono gets up and walks over to where Jade lays he cradles her in his arms she looks into his eyes and says “I love y….” she dies he feels her soul leave this world and into the world of the spirits. He picks up her body and walks out of the underground chamber, everyone on the surface watches as he emerges from the underground chamber with Jades limp body swaying in his arms. He walks past the carnage on the surface and notices Rol of the valley pack laying against a tree dead with a arrow through her heart. Hono is followed by what is left of the werewolf army and he leads them out of the dark forest and towards the setting sun.

Hono lays Jade to rest in a grave that faces when the sun rises in the east and fades into the west he stands on the hill thinking “I will be with you soon” a cold wind blows through him and he walks away from her grave

2 weeks after the battle and the destruction of the Servants of the Dark Hono sits once again in the council to decide on who should lead the council because Cor and many of the werewolf elders had been slain in the battle and now they have no one to lead them. Tal of the silver lake pack and Sta of the shadow pack vote for Yel of the light of the moon pack to lead while everyone else votes for Hono but Yel becomes the new council leader. Hono walks back to his territory and thinks about his not being appointed to lead the council and the problem his pack has been having. Some of the elders of the council have been trying to run his pack and now he was being sick of them always telling him what he has to do but know a idea crossed his mind to form his own pack called the outcasts because it would be made up of werewolves who would ignore the Darkness Pack and only obey the council member and not the elder ones.

Hono arrives at his packs den a giant stone outcropping and says “many of you may be aware that some of the elders of the council have been trying to take over this pack and tell you to do things that I have not ordered you to do, so I propose we form our own pack called the Outcasts and it would be made up of those who will follow my lead and not the lead of elders” there is a murmur in the crowd and he says “so anyone who wishes to join me may do so but those that wish to stay can” many of the werewolves stay with the darkness pack but Lyon, Eru, Kee and Gam join him they are younger members of the pack who trust him above all others.

The next day Hono sits in the council again to discus a pressing issue on what to do with the humans that are killing them rapidly. Yel says “we should fight them” but Tal and Sta say together “but they have guns that can punch through our armor we are no match for them” Yel nods and says “yes but I propose we charge them all at once in one do or die attack” Tal and Sta think on it and nod but Hono says “It is suicide to charge them however a massive charge might work since we have numbers in our favor” they all nod and Yel says “so it is decided we will attack the humans tomorrow in the early light” Hono walks towards his clans den which is a cave on the side of a hill and says to everyone “we are to attack the humans tomorrow in the early light and I suggest that everyone wear your best armor” they nod then Lyons says “what shall we do if everything goes wrong” Hono says “hopefully that doesn’t but if it does just run back to here and hide” they nod and start to get ready for battle.

In the early morning hours the sound of thousands of trampling feet can be heard as the werewolf army marches towards a valley in which the humans are encamped. They dress their lines of battle, the humans on the other side of the valley wake up to find a massive werewolf force on the opposite side of the valley one of the humans says “get your guns the flea bags want to give battle” all of a sudden all the humans rush out of their tents and grab hold of their guns and hide behind the trees and level their guns barrels at the river which runs through the bottom of the valley.

The werewolf army surges forward down the hill and once it reaches the river they are fired upon by the humans. Many werewolves fall dead to the ground and into the river Yel and Tal are shot and their bodies fall into the shallow water while Sta is shot on the hill and never makes it to the waters edge. Hono runs across the shallow river followed by Lyon, Hono is shot on the other bank of the river he falls to the ground and Lyon rushes to his side and watches as other werewolves rush past him and they are shot he looks back at Hono and Hono says “I want you to lead the clan now” Lyon says “no you will lead us” Hono says “no I won’t good bye my friend” he dies in front of Lyon, Hono feels a separation then sees Jade standing above him and walks towards her and says “told you I will see you again” he looks into her eyes and then at the rolling green country side and to a swift sunrise. Lyon feels Hono leave this world and feels he is at peace Lyon gets up and ignore the bullets whizzing by him and he finds Eru, Kee and Gam taking shelter behind a fallen log and Eru says “where’s Hono” he replies “with Jade” tears come to her eyes and he says “we must be strong now Hono before he died said I am to lead you” they nod and Lyon looks from them to the werewolves charging down the hill to their deaths he says “this charge is pointless” they walk away from the battle and towards their home all but Lyon who continues to watch the battle and see the water of the river run red with blood. The last werewolf falls into the river and now nothing but the remnants of those who survive limp back towards home and a unclear future.

The valley in which the werewolves made their charge became known as the valley of lost hope and where Hono fell a memorial was raised saying “here lies the last greatest werewolf and his eternal love and devotion lost to the wind”
