Chapter 1

Second in command.

Becky sat on a rock, it had a shiny surface and was known as the "Glowing rock" cause of it's ononimus glow. her Black pelt shone because of it, and she looked magnificent. She was waiting for the second in command to come to her. Sighing, she put her head on her paws and closed her eyes. 'Whats keeping him?' she wondered. His name was Fanuco, his name meant "Free". Becky got impatient from waiting and stood up, turning slowly around she saw Jackie tumble up the rock.

"Fanuco is dead!" He rasped and callapsed. Becky stared at Jackie is surprise, She shook her head not wanting to believe him. "He can't be..." She muttered, she jumped off the rock and ran into the forest coming to a halt when she realized her pack was fighting with another pack. The Wind-Fall pack. She panicked, only wanting to find Fanuco. "Fanuco!" She shouted, but no answer came. Suddenly she was thrust to the side by a strong blow, the alpha male of the Wind-fall clan had spotted her and obviously wanted to take her out. Becky got up and arched her back, if Fanuco was dead, she was going to get revenge, and by taking out the aplha, she would have peace. Becky pounced on the alpha, which took him by surprise, and after rolling around scraping each other, Becky finally mangaed to dig her teeth into the alpha's Neck, making him go limp, she waited for a few seconds, making sure he wasn't playing dead and then dropped him. One of the beta's shouted "Bledig is dead!" Every wolf turned to look at Becky.

"Why?" The beta asked, narrowing her eyes. Becky gulped, and tried to hide the fear in her voice. "I just needed revenge. Your pack killed my second in command." the Beta pinned her ears down. "Sorry." She whined before running away. Becky snarled. "Well, you are left leaderless now. That is enough, she can live." Becky then turned tail and walked away. Her damaged pack following in her footsteps. The wind-fall clan backed away into the shadows, snarling, but not daring to attack. "What has got into you?" Anya asked her alpha, Becky just stared at her. They had got back to the camp now, and Becky was comfortably laying on the glowing rock. Matt lying not far off, staring into the distance. The whole pack knew that Matt had changed his opinion on the pack life, but wasn't sure if he was really up for it. "Hey Matt." Lucky said, laying down beside him, she glanced at Becky before continuing to talk to Matt, who had perked up and was now interested, smiling, like nothing had been distracting him.

Spooky sat in a patch of sunlight, warming his fur. It was starting to get dark now and they would all have to head for the cave soon. Jackie approached Spooky, glad that he was too distracted by the sun to notice that much. "Hey, Spooky, you seem to be enjoying yourself for once." Jackie smiled warmly. Spooky's eyes shot open and he stared at Jackie with wide, frightened eyes, but he soon relaxed a little bit and said "Yeah, the sun feels nice." Jackie smiled again, looking up as the sun finally crept it's way down the hill. "Time for you to head of to bed." Jackie told Spooky. Spooky nodded and got up, heading to the cave, obidently. Becky had been watching this. "Thank you. I would have no idea what to do with him, if you weren't here to help him." She smiled and headed off towards a smaller cave than the big one that everyone but the alpha slept in. Jackie nodded to her before padding off to his the big cave, Lucky, Matt, Thunder, Shock, Anya and Charlie following him in his footsteps, they seemed to be completely beat after the fight.

Meanwhile, Dakota stalked through the forest, it was now pitch black. No one knew about her secret, and she liked to keep it that way. Though, she was starting to feel lonely. She hadn't found any wolf like her since her mother drove her out of the vampire wolf pack. Dakota sighed and settled down under a bench, hoping that a wolf would pass by soon.

Chapter 2

Feeling lonely.

Dakota wondered how she was ever gonna find someone like herself. She didn't have the courage to find anyone. It could be anyone, she could creep up on a vampire wolf, not realizing it was one, she would never know. Unless she asked of course, or if that wolf was prepared to show her secret. Dakota also had a pair of wings that only appeared when she was getting attacked. It was easier for her to escape that way.

Spooky roamed through the park, no human was in sight, which was good. Spooky was making his way towards Nome, where he knew he would find Balto or Jenna. The only two animals, a part from Jackie, that would talk to him. He crept slowly into Nome, trying to stay out of the Human's eye sight. "Jenna!" He called, as he saw her. She turned around and trotted up to him. "Hello, Spooks." She smiled, warmly. "Come to watch the race?" Spooky nodded and slipped out from under the bench. "When does it start?" Spooky wondered, not wanting to be away from the pack camp for too long. Some one might actually miss him. But just as he said this, the signal for race to start was showed, and the dogs raced off, Balto and Steele were in the race. Spooky hoped Balto won, cause Steele wasn't so nice to him as he was to Thunder and Charlie.

Dakota set off at a brisk pace following the route of the race, knowing that she could easily swipe the slowest wolf without anyone finding out, they would just think he got lost or something. She eyed the track waiting for the first of the dogs to come, she let them pass, they were too close together to take one without the other noticing. About an hour passed before Dakota found her chance to get a meal for once. A dog, Black and brown, some kind of border collie was trotting happily after the last dog in the race. Dakota wondered if she was even in the race. She crouched low to the ground, her orangey fur didn't help, but since she was half white, it looked like she was stuck in the snow. This is what caught the dog's attention. "Oh! Are you stuck?" She asked, padding over, confidently. "No. I'm not." As if to prove it, she stood up. The border collie froze in her steps, realizing she had confronted a wolf. "Ummm. Okay. Bye then." The canine backed away slightly before setting off in a brisk trot a long the race trail. Dakota followed. She wasn't giving her meal up this easy. "I'm Dakota. You are?" It was always nice to find out who she was about to kill. The dog looked over her shoulder. "Shaina. I'm suppose to help any dog that has injured themselves during the race. I need to get going, sorry." And that was it, Shaina was off like a bullet. 'Obviously scared of me.' Dakota thought, amused.

Dakota sighed as she watched Shaina disappear into the distance, another day with no meal, 'How long can this go on? I'm starting to look thin.' She thought. She padded away, not knowing that she was heading straight for the Shadow-Claw clan camp. Dakota stoppped on some kind of shiny rock and frowned, "What the?" She wondered staring at the rock, the rock was familiar, too familiar. Just then she heard something growling, "Uh-Oh." She whimpered as she spun round to face a black wolf with yellowish bangs. "What do you think you're doing?" The slim wolf asked. Dakota hesitated "I got lost, sorry." She replied and got up, knowing she could escape easily if she got attacked. "Guess I should go." She muttered before jumping lightly off the rovk, But Becky wouldn't let her go without a fight. Becky pounced on her, biting into her neck, Dakota let out a screeh of pain and flung Becky off. "Stay away from me." She snarled. Becky laughed, "Scared are we? get off my territory now! Or i'll set Thunder on you." It was Dakota's turn to laugh "Thunder? You can't control the weather." Just then a black wolf, with scars under her eye appeared. "Hello Thunder, will you kindly chase this thing off." Becky said to it, Thunder nodded and snarled at Dakota who was finally realizing what she meant by "Thunder." Dakota backed away, but didn't run off. She could face this wolf.

Thunder snarled more, her fur bristling "go now and I won't harm you." She said coldly. Dakota rolled her eyes and started to pad away, stopping just a few yards away, she turned around and bared her teeth, showing the fangs. Thunder's eyes widened and she pinned her ears down. "Vampire wolf." She muttered to herself and beckoned for her alpha to run, whispering the two words into her ear as she past her, Becky turned tail and ran after Thunder, shouting to the rest of the pack to evacuate the camp. Dakota smiled in satisfaction, she wasn't normally this mean, but they had threatened her. So this was her way of getting revenge. "Scared of me, are you?" Dakota shouted across the camp as she trotted confidently away. "Never!" Lucky snarled, raising her hackles. Dakota laughed and hissed at Lucky, but Lucky didn't budge, she snarled and flung herself at dakota bringing her down. "Leave my pack alone!" She growled, digging her claws deep into Dakota's shoulders. dakota squealed and threw Lucky off her, she felt her wings appear and she flew off, flapping her bat like wings as hard as she could. She was outta here.

Lucky stood watching dakota fly away with a mixture of show from seeing the wings appear and pride as she knew she had scared the vampire wolf off. "Wow. That was amazing." Matt said coming to sit beside her, he was also looking up as Dakota soared away. There was a look of admiration in Matt's eyes as he looked over to Lucky. Lucky smiled and nuzzled him. "Wanna go hunting with me and Anya?" She asked him. His ears pricked up and he nodded. Lucky smiled and got up, flicking her tail over Matt's muzzle, she went to find Anya.

Chapter 3

Total devestation.

Becky woke early in the morning, feeling hungry she went to the big cave and nudged Anya. "We need food," She told her as Anya stirred. "Um... Sure." Anya replied, getting up and strecthing. Anya padded into her mother's Forest, wondering where she was, she knew that she was the spirit of the forest, and she was definately her daughter, but she didn't always know where she was. She pricked her ears up as she heard something rattling in the bush, she sniffed the air, it was a dog. Anya tilted her head and narrowed her eyes as a borwn and black border collie crashed throught the bush. "Who are you!" Anya growled at the dog. The dog yelped in terror and replied with a shaky voice "Shaina." she pinned her ears down and backed away into the bushes. Anya relaxed a bit. "I sense you mean no harm." She said soothingly. "You may go, just be quick. I'm Anya by the way." She murred. Shaina nodded and raced off at a terrifying pace. "Wow." Anya said, turning her attention back to hunting, she soon found a deer and hunted it down.

Dragging the deer back to the camp, she dropped it on the floor and called her packmates over. "Breakfast time." she annouced and everyone padded over. Spooky hovered a few yards away, but finally built up the courage to padd up and take a bite. "Hey Spooky." Jackie smiled, as Spooky shoved his way inbetween him and Matt. "Hey." Spooky replied, blinking as he chewed on a small peice of meat. "I wanna try hunting." He muttered, his eyes clouded as he thought of the time he had watched Jackie catch the rabbit. "You will try one day, Spooky." Jackie laughed. Spooky chcukled and took another peice, then he trotted off to a moss patch and lay down to eat it. Jackie followed with a slightly larger peice.

Becky smiled as she watched the two friends eat together. "He really is fitting in, isn't he?" Charlie asked, sitting beside Becky. "Yes. I think so, I'm so proud of him." Becky smiled. Charlie smiled and lay down, putting her head on her paws. "I smell fire." Charlie said suddenly, she pricked her ears up and stared off into the distance. "You sure?" Becky said, suddenly alert. Charlie eyes clouded with terror. "Yes. Its right there!" She said pointing with her muzzle, she shot up and legged it to the cave where the rest of the pack was sheltering now. "FIRE! Run!" She yelled. Jackie and Spooky looked up, terrifyed, they got up and raced out, just to jolt to a stop and stare at the raging flames. "Oh god..." Matt muttered is disbelief as he came out, followed by Lucky and Anya. "Lets get out of here." Lucky said, running to the river, "We'll be save on the other side I think." She called back to them. The pack followed without question. Becky trailed along after them, sorrow in her eyes, she didn't want to lose the camp that had been their territory for so long. "Bye Shadow-Claw camp." She muttered before slipping into the water and swimming strongly towards the other shore.

Shock looked back at the fire from the other side, his fur was completely soaked, he hated that. Thunder came to sit beside him, and he pinned his ears down, Thunder and him didn't get a long very well anymore. Thunder worried about her brother, Sensor, she knew he was out there somewhere. "Lets hope Sensor ain't in the fire." She muttered to Shock before walking off to join Charlie who was trying to calm Jackie and Spooky down. "It's okay." Shock heard Charlie murr, "You're gonna be fine." Jackie didn't look convinced but at least Spooky had stopped shivering and was now looking at Charlie with a look of admiration, he was starting to respect his pack again, a goo sign. Shock sighed and padded over to Lucky and Matt. "Hey guys." He said as he settled down beside them. "Hey..." Matt replied, looking at becky who was staring at the fire which was still raging. Lucky nuzzled Matt, hoping that it would calm him. "What if Melody is out there?" Matt sighed, he glanced at Lucky who was looking at him, her head tilted. "Who's Melody?" she asked, confused. "Oh... Umm... Just someone I know..." He trailed off, looking embaressed. "I hope she's okay though." he sighed, putting his head on his paws.

Becky swam back over, her pack followed, what they saw there made them gasop in horror, there was nothing, hardly. "We're gonna have to find a new territory..." Becky sighed, breathing slowly. Thunder let out a cry of despair as they swam back over. "We're heading into Wind-Fall territory!" Matt called to Becky as they race through the unburnt part of the forest. "We'll drive them out then." Becky yelled back. Matt snorted, 'how in the world are we able to do that?' he said in his thoughts. Just then he thought he saw a glimpse of Melody, well at least he thought he did, he shook his head, there was no time to worry about his mate.

Dakota sat at a distance from the Wind-Fall pack camp. "Hmmm." she sighed, narrowing her eyes at a small pup, it was wondering away from the rest. "They wouldn't notice." She whispered before pouncing on it and killing the helpless thing with one bite. She dragged it back into the bushes and drained it of it's blood. She then dug a ditch, just big enough for the pup to fit in. Burying it, she looked up to the sky and said a few words "I'm sorry for the life I have taken." She hated the way she had to kill her own kind, she had almost committed suicide for it once. Dakota sighed and padded away from the dead pup. Back to Nome she went, not caring if anyone saw her.

Becky came to a halt when she smelt Wind-Fall scent. they were close. Very close. She signaled for her pack to wait and crept slowly into the camp. The she-wolf that had killed Fanuco, looked up growling. "What, are you doing here?" She snarled, crouching and moving forward slightly.

Chapter 4

Fighter.

Shaina peeked through the bushes, she was looking in on two packs confronting each other. "Wow..." She muttered to herself, hoping no one had heard, close to her was what looked like a grave. "Has someone died here?" She frowned tilting her head to one side and gazed at the muddy spot. "Looks just big enough for a pup..." Shaina sighed, her eyes filling up with tears. She looked back to the other canines as a Black wolf with yellowish bangs, said "Our territory has been burned away by fire." Shaina looked from her to another wolf that went by the name of Valerie. "Apffft. You lie." Valerie snarled. Charlie growled. "We do NOT lie!" She said, right in Valerie's face. Valerie then burst into a fit of laughter. "You really expect me to believe a stupid wolf like you, Charlie?" Charlie's eye's widened. "How do you know my name?" Charlie said, shock easily showing in her voice. Valerie sneered, "I heard it in our last battle... Oh and I know there's a Matt in your pack too." Matt was at that point staring down at his paws, but snapped his head up at the mention of his name. Matt growled and took a step forwards, but Lucky stopped him. Shaina smiled, this was her moment to walk out and confront this ungreatful wolf. Shaina got up and crawled out of the bushes, no one looked round. 'Good, i can sneak up on 'em.' she though, keeping close to the ground she crept forward untill she was crouching behind Valerie.

Jumping up, using as much power as her legs could give the small boder collie, Shaina launched her powerful self onto this terrible she-wolf. Biting into her neck, Shaina smiled as Valerie let out a cry of surprise. "I may be small, but I'm lethal." shaina snarled in Valerie's ear. Valerie tried to push Shaina off her, but didn't succeed.

"Gerroff me!" valerie Growled, scratching every spot of Shaina she could. Becky and her pack, stared in shock as the dog pinned Valrie down. Charlie walked over and ended Valeries misary. "There, no more trouble from her." Charlie sneered. After they heard this, Valeries pack fled.

Spooky had ran away the minute he had saw Shaina appear, he was making his way back to Nome, where he could talk to Jenna and Balto. When he reached None, he stared around the town, till he saw the redish orange and white husky, zooming through shadows, Spooky made his way over to her. "Hey." He whispered from under a bench. jenna looked down. "Hey, the race is about to start, good timing." She smiled.
