This was inspired by my dad and the song Irving Berlin's "What can you do with a general?" I love you Dad!
The story of the brown black wolf.
He was a brave and noble leader.
He took to his job like fish to water.
He was born to be a strong leader.
All the years he would grow wiser than the youth he was in the begining.
It was good years but it was also very sad that many times he had to leave the ones he loved in order to do his job.
His heart grew sadder as he saw his 3 female pups grow without him and leaving his beutiful loving mate behind to watch the pups and his bothers and sisters and father as well.
He was always proud of his family when he came home.
All the next generation looked up to him as a role model.
But the time came for the brave leader to retire.
The next generation took his place quickly without a second glance.
He is still respected as a veteran.
but he finding a new way to help support his famliy.
He tried different ways to help the pack but his options were limited.
His mate had to work twice as hard to help but he still looked for work everday in order to help anyway he can.
The first two pups were grown but the thrid was still a runt needing guidence.
He tries hard with a strong sense of determination and love for his family.
The song.
"When the war was over, why, there were jobs galore
For the G.I. Josephs who were in the war
But for generals things were not so grand
And it's not so hard to understand
[Refrain:]
What can you do with a general
When he stops being a general?
Oh, what can you do with a general who retires?
Who's got a job for a general
When he stops being a general?
They all get a job but a general no one hires
They fill his chest with medals while he's across the foam
And they spread the crimson carpet when he comes marching home
The next day someone hollers when he comes into view
"Here comes the general" and they all say "General who?"
They're delighted that he came
But they can't recall his name
Nobody thinks of assigning him
When they stop wining and dining him
It seems this country never has enjoyed
So many one and two and three and four star generals
Unemployed
Not my song! I got this from
