August 5, 1927

Balto was on his boat watching his kids playing. He was watching Dingo and Kodi playfully wrestling, whilst his daughters were just talking and laughing. Although he was happy seeing his kids happy, he was rather sad today. Mother, I miss you. Boris came and sat next to Balto, and saw a tear drop out his eye. ''Hey, what's wrong boychick'', asked Boris. ''Nothing, I just have something in my eye'', said Balto trying to hold back tears. Oh Ice, Snow my two sisters, why did you have to leave me, he thought to himself sadly. ''Balto, I know something is wrong, please just tell me, I won't tell any one else, if it makes you feel better'', said Boris while petting Balto's head. ''Umm, I'd rather not, I can't be sad in front of kids'', said Balto. ''Well atleast you admited you're sad, it's a start'', said Boris.

Then all of Balto's six children came on the boat. They then saw Balto tear stained fur. ''Papa whats wrong'', asked Saba. ''Oh, nothing, it's just nothing'', said Balto. I know he is lying, thought Saba. Balto couldn't hold it in anymore, he ran into the boat and cried his eyes out. ''I'll talk to him'', said Dingo.

Dingo saw Balto all wrapped in his blanket, crying. ''Dad, are you okay'', asked Dingo. ''Yes, I'm fine Dingo'', said Balto. ''Dad, how are you okay if you're bawling your eyes out'', asked Dingo. I might as well tell him,thought Balto. ''Dingo, sit down'', said Balto. ''Your grandmother, Aniu, and my two sisters died today, nine years ago due to the shooting of a hunter'', said Balto. ''Oh Dad, I'm very sorry'', said Dingo nuzzling him. ''Can you tell me more about her'', asked Dingo. ''Well I remember she was white as snow, was very beautiful, and had this warm voice that made me feel safe,

''Come Balto, Ice, Snow lets go back to the cave it's bed time'', said Aniu. Ice and Snow went into the cave, while little Balto was chasing a butterfly. Aniu smiled. Ice, one of Balto's older sisters came to him, ''Come on Balto aren't you tired'', she asked. ''Nope I'm very wide awake'', said Balto happily. She just laughed. ''Well come on, Mama want's us to get in the cave'', she said. She picked him and let him ride her back. They went into the cave. ''Oh there you are Balto'', said Aniu. ''Hi mama'', he said licking her. ''Come on bed-time'', she said as she curled up. Snow, Ice, and Balto all curled up together and slept.

Aniu woke up early to an unfamiliar smell. Could it be maybe another wolf or--- then she heard a gun shot. ''Guys, wake up hunters'', yelled Aniu. They all got up, Snow immidiatly ran with Aniu. Balto however was scared stiff. ''Balto, come on'', said Ice as she picked him up. They both finally met up with Aniu and Snow, and they stayed behind a bush. ''Nobody move a muscle'', whispered Aniu. ''Mama I scared'', said Balto. Ice immidialty covered his mouth with her paw,'' Sssh, it's okay they're almost gone'', said Ice. Balto just stayed in her grasp, scared.

After 2 more minutes

''Aniu came out of the bush, she searched around for the hunters, there was no sight of them. ''Okay, guys you can come out now, they're gone'', said Aniu. ''Why are humans always coming here Mama'', asked Balto. ''Because humans are bad creatures, they want to harm us for many reasons which I shan't explain'', said Aniu. ''Why not'', asked Balto. ''Becuase you're too young'', said Aniu smiling.

Ice and Snow were playing rough. Snow then pinned down Ice, ''Dog pile on Ice'', yelled Balto. ''He then jumped on top of her. ''Oh, Balto you're not a pup anymore'', she said laughing. ''Which is why I can do this'', he then tickled her belly. ''Hey stop please haha, Snow he-help'', she pleaded. ''Okay'', said snow and joined Balto in tickling her. Oh little brothers and sisters you've gotta love them, she thought to herself. Balto and Snow finally stopped torturing her and they all hugged. ''We love you Snow'', they said in unison.

A year later

Balto and Snow were racing each other. ''Guys get inside here quickly!'',yelled Aniu. ''Whats wrong'', asked Balto. ''There are hunting dogs near, quick get inside and hide!'', she said. ''I'll get Ice'', said Aniu. Balto and Snow went in the cave, they both hugged each other scared to death. I hope Ice is okay, thought Balto to himself.

''Ice, where are you'', said Aniu. She then came to a horrible sight. She found her daughter on the ground, all bruised, cut up and bleeding. ''Ice, please wake up'', said Aniu crying. ''Mama'', asked Ice. ''Oh Ice, you're okay'', said Aniu. ''No I'm not, I've been shot and the dogs attacked me, please just leave me here'', said Ice. ''No don't talk that way, you'll be fine'', said Aniu. ''No, Mama please just leave me here, it'll make my death quicker'', said Ice. ''I don't care, you deserve to see your brother and sister one last time'', said Aniu as she picked and carried her on her back.

''Do you think Mama and Ice is okay'', asked Balto. Aniu then came in with a dying Ice on her back. ''Ice, Ice are you okay'', asked Balto. ''No, Im not Balto, I am leaving the Earth today Balto, please take care of Mama and Snow for me, I love you'', she said as she licked his nose. ''I promise'', he said nuzzling. She then laid down and sighed. She was dead. ''Ice, Ice please wake up, ICE'', yelled Aniu. She then stormed into the rain and yelled and howled. Balto went to talk to her but Snow held him back.

The next few days were devastating for Aniu, Balto and Snow. But they had to continue their lives, if they greived too much about Ice they would hurt them self. Aniu saw a large peice of glass on the ground. She looked at her self, then an image of Ice appeared, Aniu them smashed the glass, it shattered into peices, she then drew blood. Damn it. She to the near by pond and put her paw in the water and let the blood come out. Oh Ice, I miss you, please come back to me, she thought to herself. ''Mama'', asked Balto. ''Oh hello Balto'', she said trying to smile. Balto then noticed the blood in the pond and then saw the cut on her paw. ''Oh my Mama what happened'', asked Balto as he licked her paw. ''Umm nothing just a thorn bush hehe'', she said. ''Mama a thorn bush cant make a cut that big'', said Balto. Balto went to get Snow. ''Snow Mom's hurt'', said Balto. Snow immidiatly got up and ran to her mom. ''Oh, Mama what happened'', asked Snow. ''Balto why don't you run along a little bit please'', said Aniu. ''Why can't you tell me anything, you always tell Snow everything, I promise mom I will understand'', said Balto. Aniu sighed. ''Fine, I saw a peice of glass on the ground, and I looked at it, and your sisters appeared on it, I couldn't look at it anymore, so I smashed it'', said Aniu crying. Snow hugged her, so did Balto. ''It's okay, she is still with us'', said Snow.

The three were sleeping in their cave, until Aniu smelled a familiar sent. Balto and Snow were awake. ''Guys just stay in here'', said Aniu. Balto cuddled up to his sister and asked, ''Snow why is Mom so paranoid now, ever since Ice died, she has always more alert than she has to be'', said Balto. ''I don't know little bro, but you know she is doing for our own protection'', she said as she nuzzled him. ''Guys run!'', yelled Aniu. There was no time to ask they just ran. They were being chased by a hunting dog. While Balto and Snow ran, Aniu was fighting the dog. The pinned Aniu down and grabbed her chest with his large fangs, and threw her around. She howled in pain. Mom, thought Snow. She ran to her mother and Balto was fighting the dog. Balto put up a good fight and scared off the dog.

Balto went to Aniu. ''Mom wake up'', said Balto. ''Guys I love you, take care of each other, Balto stay bold, Balto stay bold'', she then fell to the ground dead. Snow screamed, she ran Aniu trying to nuzzle her awake. Balto pulled away from the body and into the cave. ''No NO THIS CAN'T BE'', she screamed. She just fell crying. Balto hugged her to comfrot her, she dug her nose into his fur and cried. ''Balto, I'm scared, now there is no one to take care of us'', she said. ''We have each other, I promise I will protect you, and won't let anything hurt you'', he said. ''I promise to be a good big sister and be just like Mama'', she said and they just hugged.

Snow was sleeping in the cave, she thought Balto was right next to her until she found he was gone. ''Balto, BALTO'', she screamed. ''What's up'', he said as he came in with a carribou in his mouth. ''Oh you almost gave me a stroke, please tell me if you're going somewhere'', she said. ''I promise''. And they ate.

They then went outside, layed on their backs and looked at the stars. ''I wonder if Mom and Ice are looking down on us right now'', said Balto. ''I'm sure they are'', said Snow.

The Next Morning.

Balto was sleeping, he thought Snow was next to him until he heard a gunshot. Oh no SNOW, he thought to himself. Balto ran outside and saw a wolf lying on the ground. ''Snow, Snow, please sis wake up'', he said crying. ''Hey, bro, I guess I'll be seeing Mama and Ice soon huh'', said Snow. ''No no no, please don't leave me, I have lost too many family members I will not let you die'', he said trying to carry her on his back.

They got to the cave. Balto put Snow down and nuzzled her. ''Balto, go to a town called Nome, there are people there so be careful, please before any other hunter gets you, start a new life, but don't forget me, Mama and Ice, I love you Balto'', she said. She then let her head hit the ground. She was dead. ''No, no no no, Snow please'', Balto screamed at the top of his lungs. If I ever find the bastard who killed my family, he will live no longer.

A few Weeks Later

A red husky and her owner were walking in the forest. Then the husky smelled somthing. ''What is it Jenna'', asked her owner. Jenna then followed the scent and saw a wolf or was it a husky past out. ''Oh good girl, I wonder if he's alive'', said the girl. The girl gently petted the wolfdog's head until he opened his eyes. ''Hello boy, I'm Rosey, and this is Jenna'', said Rosey. Jenna saw the wolfdog awake, she said, ''Hello, I'm Jenna''. ''Hello, Im Balto'', he said.m This is the most beautiful creature I have every layed my eyes on besides my mother or sisters, thought Balto. How I miss them, he thought sadly. ''Come on boy I'll take you to Nome'', said Rosey. Balto then happily followed the two.
