A grey wolf was gliding up the shadowy slope to a cave. Her breath came in fog, the autumn wind blew cold. She heard the sounds of the wilderness around her. Her swift trot broke into a run over the uneven ground. Moments ago she had told a stranger the whereabouts of someone close to her. The wolf was tired of living under her friend's shadow. The stranger offered a way to be better then him. Where ever she would go everyone would tremble at the very mention of her name and would never go against her.

She had been tricked and the wolf had to get there before it was too late. As her light gray paws made contact with the even ground she galloped into the cave. Its usual warm sense of home became as cold as death itself. There before her on the stone ground laid her fox friend. His eyes froze as if in distant memory. Blood gushed from his red and white neck. She skidded to a stop by his side, the tears streamed down her face. "Why? Why did I do it?" she asked herself. "You wanted to be better. He was an obstacle so you had to rid him. He also had something that I needed."

A rusty but commanding voice broke the dreaded silence. She looked up to see a black cougar with yellow silted eyes. "You! I'm going to kill you!" She threw herself at the cat in rage. The cat simply swatted her away as if a fly. Her body hit the wall and a yelp traveled into the air. Before she hit the ground he was there in a flash and had her pinned. "Remember you work for me now!" The cat blew cool air over her face and a wave of evil swept there her whole body all the way to the white tip of her tail. "I remember sir." She spoke with a scared voice. Her lungs felt as if being crushed by his powerful paws. "You need to find the badger known as Taku. He was once someone who worked for me but failed his last mission of bringing me..." he stopped in mid sentence. He lowered his voice to make sure no one heard. "The Ruby Star. Find him and question him. If he has nothing, he is no use to me. Kill him. Don't mess it up Jetca." His large paws lifted off her chest.

Her lungs refilled with air and as she stood she saw her friend's necklace over his neck. It was a tooth of a tiger, the Tooth of Ingav. Then black fog floated around the large cat's paws and that was the last she saw of Rasfar, the leader of the Banished. Jetca had just become part of the outcast clan. But her mission flooded back into her brain. She stood and when she passed the body of the fox, she didn't give it another thought. She couldn't remember her friends, family, and happy times, all she knew was she was different and a part of the Banished. As the moonlight hit her coat Jetca realized she was no longer a wolf but a silver fox. She gasped of her new pelt before she looked up at the moon and noticed the gray patches on it looked like a skull. She smiled with a wolfish grin and set off to find Taku. Jetca was ready to hear the scream of her prey and his blood seep into the ground. She was now the Night Fox, a seeker for Rasfar. Rasfar was leader of the Banished and the Devil was his master.
