True Legends Never die
-Unknown
"This one will eventualy take over as alpha, you know." A big brown wolf said, and calmly smiled. His name was Nanook, the current alpha male of the pack. The current alpha female was Ashur, a solid black and white wolf, looking over three pups. One was small and almost completley white. Her name was Azura, and beside her was a larger brown and black male, Dakota. Then there was the first born pup. She was a female and pure black and radiant white. She was also the first born, and claimed future alpha. The night she was born was under a waxing cresent moon. Being born under a cresent moon ment 'the seed has sprouted and is growing to the light'. The legend of Zasha was born.
Azura nevered liked to play-fight like Dakota and I. We liked playing 'hunt' alot. We watched how momma and dad killed the elk from a distance. We acted like we were hunting eachother. We also hunted the bugs around the den. Azura always was picky about her food. I always sadly doubted her survival through being a puppy or even as a lone wolf. She'd have to stay the omega of the pack. Dakota was always better at playing the hunting game. He was more patient then I was. He knew the perfect timming to attack. Even though I was to become alpha, father liked to teach Dakota how to hunt small prey with him. They hunted rabbits and birds. When they went off, I tried to play with Azura, but she wasn't interested. "C'mon Azura! Let's play" I barked. I takled her a pulled on her ear. "OW! Zasha! Stop!" She cried. I let go and back off. "Your boring" I said and rolled my eyes. "Your stupid! And you'll be a dumb leader!" Azura snapped. If there is one thing that gets on my nevers more than anything, is big mouths with no room to talk. I attacked her and bit down on her ear, hard. She yelped and screamed for mom. "Zasha bit my ear, really hard!" She whined. Azura cried to mom alot. It made me and Dakota get into trouble alot, too. "She's just playing with you." Mom said and walked off.

When crieng to mom didn't work, Azura always fought back. She bit down on my arm and tried to trip me, but I just pushed her away. I walked outside and waited for dad and Dakota to come back. Suddenly the two bolted inside the rim of our territory. My siblings and I were too big to be picked up my mouth, so Dad was pushing Dakota to go faster by nudging and nipping his shoulders. They were in a hurry to get home, and because we only ran about half the speed of an adult wolf, so he pushed Dakota to go quicker and quicker. When they fanially got up here with us, I noticed a large things that looked like silver pinestraw with a little peice of plastic at the end lodged in my dad's shoulder. He was bleeding and his arm was going numb. I now know it was a dart to make you sleep. My dad fell over. "NANOOK!" Our mom cried, shoving him over and over with her muzzle. I was scared, we all were. "What happened?" mother asked Dakota. "Two weird things came out of the woods! They had this black tree branch that controlled thunder! Then, dad got that thing in his shoulder!" He barked. Then I heard somthing in the woods. I sneaked out of the den, and went into the woods. I hoped my family didn't realize I'd gone. I'll never forgive myself for what happend next.
I cought on to a scent like mom and dad would do during hunting. I followed it for only about five minutes, before seeing two odd creatues. They had four legs, like I do, but only two met the ground, the two others were grabbing onto black tree branches. "Did you see where they ran? I don't want anymore complaints of these monsters keeping people up with howling all night." One said. He other put up his hand, and the first fell silent. He pointed to the bush were I was at. Startled, I ran as fast as my legs could carry me back home. I now realized that maybe if I hadn't gone to the humans, or maybe if I just ran a different way, to lure them away, I....I....Might just be with my family as I speak. I lead the humans straight to my family. The man raised his thunder branch, and shot my mom. It was the same thing that happend to my dad. She fell to the ground. They weren't dead, just asleep. The man grabbed Azura my her ear and back, and shoved her into a small cage, the other man grapped Dakota by the leg. He too was put in a cage, I tried to run, and the man grabbed onto my tail and leg. I turned around and bit his finger, but he reacted my grabbing the back of my neck and thrusted me into another small cage. They also put mom and dad into cages a little larger than my own.

I felt a sharp, quick lived pain in my shoulder. I saw the dart. I frantically looked around to my family. They were all knocked out. I started to panic, then fought to stay awake. The truck started moving, and after a little while, the calm humming sound of it plus the drug made me sleep. I woke up alittle while later. I found some food in my cage. "Don't eat it Zasha, the humans put it in there." My mother wispered to me. I sniffed it, and it smelled odd. I didn't know if it was the human's scent, or posion, so I left it alone.
After a while, I started to get hungry. So incredibly hungery. I looked around at my family. They were all asleep. I sniffed the meat again, and the odd smell was very very faint. I bit into it. It was elk, no doubt. It was good too. I ate it, and fell back asleep.
"ZASHA!" I heard my mother scream. I bolted up. "What?!What?!" I barked. She scared me half to death. "Did you eat that meat? DID YOU!?!" she barked. "N-no." I said swiftly. "It's not in your cage! It could be poision!" She said. I didn't want to scare her, so I quickly answered back. "I pushed it out onto the road, it was taking up space." I saw a sign of relief come over her. "Thank God, you scared me." She replied, and turned around. I got alittle scared.
"CLANK CHHHKK CLICK" I looked up. The belt-like thing attached to my cage holding it on the truck was comming apart. I yelped. Suddenly, it snapped, and my cage slid off the side. I had one last look ay my family. A tear rolled down my eye. I was cold and alone. I curled up and tucked my nose under the tip of my tail, the way that fox I saw last winter had looked. I finally fell asleep. When I woke up, I was starving. Only then did I realize I had another, bigger problem than hunger. I was trapped in a cage in the middle of nowhere. I'll die if I can't get to water and food soon. I started barking. I looked around. I barked more. I was from Tennesse, and now (though I didn't know it at the time) I was in Alaska. I didn't know about all the pradators. A large, tan thing came up to me.
I knew alittle about cats, because I saw one once, but this was bigger than I was, bigger than my father Nanook! Then I got an idea. "Hahah! You big, fat, dumb kitten! You can't get me in this cage!" I barked. The cat licked it's lips. "I'm a mountain lion," Her claws sprang out from her paws "Let's just see."

She swung her claw (it was bigger than my entire boddy by the way) across my cage once. It was so close to hitting me, I could almost double over in pain from fear, but I knew I couldn't. "LOSER!" I barked. I moved into a crouching position. She slung her claw across the cage for the second time, sending it a few feet away and breaking the door almost completley off the hinges. I barked again. She but one claw on the cage, and lifted the other way up high. Then she slammed it against the cage. Before I had time to think, my reflect caused me to run up her nose, and bite into her ear. She jumped up, and I slid down alittle. Part of her ear came off in my mouth. I ran (well...slid) down her backbone and ran into the woods. I hid under the roots of a half tilted tree. The mountain lion kept running, and past me.
Still pumped with adernaline, I bolted and ran for my life. The cat didn't see me, but I kept on going. I ran and ran and ran. Atlast, I realized how worn-out I was. I landed in the snow face-first. I couldn't move. I wasn't paralyzed or annything, just to tierd. I lied there. I was scared the snow would cover be, and I'd be buried alive, but that still didn't give me energy. I tried to sleep
I woke up in alittle shed. Well....after falling from a basket. "Sorry wolfie, I didn't mean too." A litle red furred puppy barked. He was a dog, I've seen one before, but with wolf eyes. It was strange. "Um..Hi?" I said. I didn't know how to react. Then, looking behind him, I saw five others. They all had somthing in them...somthing wolfish. "I'm Zuko, and that's Songa, she's Saba, He's Dingo, he's Kodi and that's Aleu." he smiled. "But, that's four name-" I sarted, then I saw the other. She was grey and had to be full wolf. "I'm a wolf too." I barked and wagged my tail.

"Wolf? You musta hit your head, were huskies, full bred huskies!" She said. I tilted my head. "No, your-" I started but was cut off when a big brown dog came in. "Huskies." he said. "They're huskies." he smiled. He gave me a strange look. They must not know. I thought. I nodded back. "My name's Zasha." I said. "I'm Balto, and I'm sure you've meet the pups." He said. I nodded. He lied down in the corner. I went to the others. "Let's play FIGHT!" They barked. I joined.
When it was time for my friend to find homes, I had to wait at Balto's boat. I told the duckie thing I needed to find a home too. "No, You are wolf. Pure wolf no get child. Wolf get den!" He said. So I took that advice. I know now he ment for me to stay, but I went off anyway. I didn't know much about dens, so I found a place with alot of food and other stuff. It was called a junk yard.
I lived there for about a month. I still played with Songa and Zuko. Aleu had run away, and I didn't manage to find the others. I also met Jaxs and Angel. Angel turned out to be my best friend. I spent a good while there, until the day the humans came for me.
