Prolougue

                           The hunt had began.The pack herded the caribou steadily.But as the pace picked up,an older wolf fell behind.

"Come on Grandma."Called a younger wolf.

"Oh, you go ahead,Kiche.I'll catch up."She panted.

"Grandma,Why do we hunt?How did we get here?"Kiche asked.

"Come on!"Another wolf called.

"I'll tell you the story,but while we run."She said.She took a deep breath and began.

"In the beginning,There were no wolves.Only Lanna.She was the  fastest animal other than the Spotted Cats.She was rare as well.The only one of her kind."

"But Grandma,how did we get here then?"Kiche asked.

"Hush,my child,I have not finished yet."She said.

"She roamed the Earth by herself.One day,she met a strange creature.It had the sharpest teeth she had ever seen.She walked up to him and said,"Who are you?I am Lanna."

The creature stared at her."I am Sharptooth."He said.

"I could have guessed."She said.

"Would you like something to eat?"Asked Sharptooth.

"I would be hounoured."Replied Lanna.

"What do you like?"He asked.

"The fourlegged bellowers."Lanna said."I think they should be called Caribou."

"Caribou it is."Said Sharptooth sighting one and with his enormous fangs,He killed it in one quick snap.

'As they dined,They relized they had fallen for each other.Later that night,Sharptooth invited Lanna to his den,Where they mated.Nine long months later,A new species was born.Lanna named them,wolves.So,that is how we came here.And when you look to the stars,you can see Lanna and Sharptooth and the first wolves."

"Wow,Grandma.That is a great story!"Said Kiche.

"Yes,my dear,Now we must hurry or nothing will be left."She said.The wolves had killed while she was telling the story.The old wolf stared at the stars as she lied down and a shooting star flew past."Oh,My Sharptooth.How I miss you."She said.

"Grandma Lanna!"cried Kiche.

But Lanna never answered.She had died.But,her tale was never forgotten.Kiche told her children,Her children told their's,And they told their's.
