Ch. 1

“Saydee, your doggie shoe’s untied.”

My sister, Nuell sat on the edge of our bed, grinning at me. Another one of her dumb jokes.

I’m not an idiot. I know better than to look down at my doggie shoe. If I did, she’d slap me or something.

“I’m not falling for that old trick.” I told her.

Momma had just called me and the brat downstairs for a snack. An hour before she had made us go to our room because she couldn’t stand our fighting anymore.

It was impossible not to fight with Nuell.

When it comes to stupid tricks, Nuell never knows when to quit. “I’m not kidding.” She insisted. “Your doggie shoe’s untied. You’re going to trip.”

“Knock it off, Nuell.” I said. I started walking to my bedroom door.

My left front shoe seemed to cling to the floor. I pulled it up with a jerk.

“Yuck!” I’d stepped on something sticky.

I glanced at Nuell. She’s a skinny little squirt with teeth like a wolf, stringy fur and a tail that looks funny.

Everyone says she looks exactly like me. I hate it when they say that. My pure snow white fur is not stringy, for one thing. It’s short and thick. And my teeth are normal sized. No one has ever said I have teeth like a wolf.

I’m a little short for my size, but not skinny.

I do not look like Nuell.

She was watching me, giggling. “You’d better look down at your shoe.” She taunted in her singsong voice.

I glanced down at my shoe. It wasn’t untied, of course. But I’d just stepped on a huge wad of gum. If I had looked down to check my shoelaces, I would’ve seen it.

But Nuell knew I wouldn’t look down. Not if she told me to.

Tricked by Nuell the Nausea again.

“You’re going to SO get it, Nuell.” I grumbled. I tried to grab her, but she dodged out of reach and ran downstairs.

I chased her into the kitchen. She screamed and hid behind my mother.

“Mommy! Hide me! Saydee’s going to get me!” She shrieked.

As if she were scared of me. Fat chance.

“Saydee Warner!” Momma scolded. “Stop chasing your little sister!”

She glanced at my shoe and added, “Is that gum on your shoe? Oh, Saydee, you’re tracking it all over the floor!”

“Nuell made me step on it!” I whined.

Momma frowned. “Do you expect me to believe that? Saydee, you’re lying again.”

            “I am not!” I cried.

Momma shook her head in disgust. “If you’re going to tell a lie, Saydee, at least make it a very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very good one.”

            Nuell peeked out behind Momma.

            “Yeah, Saydee.” She whispered.

I growled at her and tried to grab her again, but Momma caught me and quickly got in front of the little termite.

“Saydee Annette Warner! You go up to your room! Now, young lady!” Momma yelled angrily.

I stomped up to my and Nuell’s room. I slammed the door loud enough for the whole earth to hear it.

I got out my doggie iPod and listened to a little bit of music.

“Saydee, come down! Dinner!” Momma called.

“I’m not hungry!” I called back.

“It’s meatloaf! Your favorite!” I absolutely, positively LOVED Momma’s meatloaf. I dashed downstairs.

Daddy came home just before we started eating. I went over to him to nuzzle him, but Nuell the Nausea was quicker than me.

I said hi to him, but he didn’t respond back. I tried to nuzzle him, but he shooed me away.

I felt a stream of tears in my eyes. I let them stream down my face.

“Saydee, why are you crying?” Momma asked, but by the time she had finished, I had already dashed into my and the brat’s room.

I got into bed. I snuggled under the softness of my blanket, crying silently.

“Saydee? Are you awake?” I heard Nuell’s voice ask a couple of hours later.

“Go away. I never want to see you again!” I yelled.

“Listen, Saydee... I just wanted to apologize for earlier. I just got carried away and... I’m sorry.” Nuell apologized.

            I sighed. “Apology accepted.”

“Did you know that tomorrow, Mommy and Daddy are going to Forks, Washington? They’re going to visit Riley, Edward, Bree, Bella and the rest of the Cullens, except the girls.”

“What are they going to do up there with them?” I asked.

“They’re going to play a bit of games and then, Mommy and Daddy are going to take turns racing Riley, Edward, Carlisle, Emmett and Jasper and then, they’re going to eat lunch and then, Mommy and Daddy are going to invite the Cullens, Bree and Riley to LIVE WITH US!! Oh yeah. Dibs on Emmett.” Nuell said.

“Well... if that’s the way you want it, dibs on Bella and Bree.” I challenged.

“Are you... challenging me?” Nuell questioned.

            “Yeah.” I growled.

“Dibs on Emmett AND Jasper.” Nuell said.

“Oh yeah? Dibs on Riley, Carlisle, Edward, Bella AND Bree. Isn’t Riley sexy?”

            “No. Emmett is.”

Ch. 2

The next day, Momma and Daddy packed their bags and left for their plane to Forks.

            I had to baby-sit Nuell.

That very evening, when Momma, Daddy, the Cullens, Bree and Riley walked through the door to our house, I jumped up and out of bed, ran downstairs and said hi.

“Oh... my... gosh. Trigger, Jacque, you never told us you had a daughter. This one is so pretty.” Riley said as he picked me up.

            I snickered silently.

“Actually, we have two daughters. One’s upstairs, sleeping.”

“This one’s adorable.” Bree cooed as she walked up to me.

“I agree. This one is adorable.” Carlisle said.

“So... Trigger, where are we going to sleep tonight?” Bella asked.

“Well... we have no room in our room, so I’m just going to split each of you up to bed with one of our children. Bella, Edward, Riley, Bree and Carlisle, you will be sleeping with Saydee.” Daddy answered.

“And Jasper and Emmett, you will be sleeping with Nuell.” Momma said.

“OK. But we kind of get a little confused about which is which, so can you tell us?” Carlisle asked.

“Saydee is the white Maltese and Nuell is the black and brown Silky, which is sleeping upstairs. Saydee gets kind of lonesome, so will you guys play with her every time she gets lonesome?”

“Yeah. She looks like she could do no harm.” Carlisle said.

“Yeah. She’s a cutie.” Riley said.

            “I agree.” Bella said.

“Saydee, sweetie, why don’t you show us to your room?” Edward asked.

“OK.” I replied as I walked upstairs all the way to the end of the hallway.

“This is your and your little sister’s room?” Edward whispered.

            “Yeah.” I answered quietly.

            “Where’s Nuell?” Emmett asked.

“She sleeps on the edge of my bed.” I whispered.

“OK. Thanks.” Jasper whispered as he and Emmett tiptoed over and silently lay down next to Nuell.

“Come on, guys. I have a large bed.” I whispered to Carlisle, Edward, Bella, Riley and Bree.

I snuggled under the covers in-between Riley and Bree.

The next morning, Carlisle and Edward were downstairs watching Animal Planet’s “Untamed and Uncut,” while Bree was reading a book called “Twilight.”

            Riley was still asleep.

Nuell was playing with the others and Bella was eating breakfast.

            “Hey, guys.” I said.

“Hi, Saydee. Breakfast is ready.” Edward said as he looked up at me.

“Awesome.” I replied as I walked down the stairs.

I grabbed a plate and ten pancakes.

I only ate two and threw the rest away.

            “What’s wrong, Saydee?” Edward asked.

“It’s just... I have this big soccer game today at 5:55 and I’m worried that no one will come to watch me and cheer for me. We’re the Vampires and we’re playing against the Werewolves.” I said sadly.

“Don’t worry, Saydee. We promise we’ll be there. We’ll even take you.” Carlisle replied, smiling.

Suddenly, we heard a bang. I raced upstairs and into my room, followed by the others.

Riley was sprawled on the floor by my dresser. He was still breathing.

“Riley! What happened?” I asked as I licked him.

“I just banged my head on the dresser.” Riley said.

“What was that...?” I gasped as I looked over at the windowsill. All of my porcelain eggs were smashed into little tiny pieces.

I grabbed the one that was my favorite. I got it from Grandma on her tour in China. I held it close to my chest and sobbed. I turned and glared angrily at Riley.

            “HOW COULD YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” I screamed.

“Listen, Saydee, I thought they were just regular eggs and-” Riley started.

I dashed out of the room before he could finish, the others running after me.

“Listen, Saydee, I’m sure he didn’t mean it.” Carlisle said.

“Shoot. It’s already 5:50. I have to be at my soccer game. Come on, everyone!” I said.

            1 second later...

“Saydee, you’re early. I’m surprised.” John, the coach said.

            “Thanks, Coach John.” I said.

“And, Saydee, you can just call me John, since you’re the youngest of the team.” John said.

The rest of the team arrived at exactly 5:55. Then, the game started at 6:30 and ended at 7:50. We beat the Werewolves 7-0.

Ch. 3

“Saydee, you were AWESOME as defense! You kicked the ball so high, it actually landed in the others’ goal!” Bree said.

“Thanks, Bree. Riley... I’m REALLY sorry I got mad at you. I just couldn’t... *Sigh* they were my best porcelain eggs.” I said, struggling to get the words out.

“It’s OK.” Riley said, hugging me.

“Guys, I found something!!!!!” Edward said from my room.

We, Carlisle, Bella, Riley, Bree, Nuell, Emmett, Jasper and I raced up to find out what it was that Edward was talking about.

            “What is it?” I asked.

Then, we all looked down at what Edward was pointing at.

A dark and cold basement was what we were looking at.

I walked down without saying a word. The others followed. Suddenly, I realized I forgot the flashlights.

I ran back up, got the flashlights under my bed and raced back. I handed them out.

            Everyone turned on their flashlights.

We went down a narrow, long hallway. It got colder and colder... and colder...... and colder. Suddenly, something slapped me full force in the face, sending me flying.

“Oh God!! Saydee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” Nuell said, running over.

            “I’m alright.” I said painfully.

I got up and continued down the hall. I suddenly saw a room.

            “Guys!!!! Over here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” I called.

            “What?” Nuell asked.

“I found a room.” I said as soon as the others were in earshot.

“Wow. You’re smart, Saydee.” Bree commented.

We went inside. I suddenly noticed something shimmering. It was a necklace. I picked it up. Suddenly, it wrapped itself around my neck. I suddenly fell to the ground. Carlisle was the first to notice.

“SAYDEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” He screamed. It got the others looking. He reached his hand out. Suddenly, as if I wasn’t controlling myself anymore, I got up and bit Carlisle’s hand. I growled menacingly. Carlisle backed up as soon as I let go of his hand, a shocked look on his face. Bree walked up to me, not so afraid. I growled a warning to let her know when to back up. She didn’t move. I smacked her across the face. She staggered back a few steps, holding her cheek. I growled ferociously to warn the others to stay away. Nuell snatched the necklace off my neck. And it wrapped around HER neck! Suddenly, her eyes turned crimson red.

“ANYBODY WHO COMES CLOSE TO ME WILL BE IN GREAT DANGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” She roared.

Bella went over to her. Nuell slashed her across the face. It left a big, bloody scar on the side of Bella’s eye.

            “I WARNED YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” Nuell screamed.

“N-Nuell? Are you OK?” I asked.

            “SHUT UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” Nuell shouted, snarling.

"Nuell, what's happening to you?" I asked, suddenly frightened for my little sister. Riley came over to me and picked me up.

"I think the necklace is possessing her." Carlisle said.

"Did I not tell you to SHUT UP?!!!!!!!!!!" Nuell snarled. She suddenly lashed out at Carlisle, slashing his leg. She tried to lunge at Jasper, but he backed up into the wall. Suddenly, I leapt out of Riley's arms.
