Prologue:
January 22, 1929, One year after Balto 3: Wings of Change, The U.S Mail dog sled team is on the way back to Nome with a shipment of mail and a little supplies for a new building that is ready for a Police team that was sent out by the United States Vice President, Charles G. Dawes in Washington D.C after Nome's old Police team vanished during a blizzard one month ago. The sled team have returned to Nome, leaded by the hardest worker in the whole team, the son of the legendary hero, Kodi. After Kodi and his team are unhitched, they decide to go to the beach to celebrate the completion of the building. While there, they try to see if the Police team is coming today, but they expect it to come on a Police boat from Anchorage, Alaska.
Nome, Alaska
Chapter 1: The Newcomers
2: 46 PM
"Man, I can't wait until the snow melts, it's all downhill until were done for the year" said Kirby.
"Hold up Kirb, remember last year we had a really bad blizzard on our last day" said Ralph "That better not happen this year" said Dusty behind him "I hate blizzards" Kirby said
Kodi comes into the conversation "you and you’re complaining Kirby". Both Ralph and Dusty begin to laugh. Dusty then begins to change the subject "Have you guys heard there is a wolf clan in the 2 mile radius of Nome" she said and Ralph and Kirby began to talk about it, but Kodi had discovered the scent of burning gasoline, and then began to hear a strange but familiar sound.
"Hang on guys, you hear that" said Kodi with his ears up hearing some buzzing sound. "Hear what?" said Dusty "The Ocean?" said Kirby "No, either it's another bush plane..." Kodi knew this would upset his team, so said something that would make Dusty and Kirby, or at least Kirby laugh about. "Or it's Ralph again" Kodi said sarcastically said . Dusty and Kirby started to laugh, but Kirby was more like cracking up, he was on his back laughing so hard. "Nice w, one!!!" Kirby said in between his laughter.
"That was only once, I stole Simpson's beans that night" Ralph said embarrassed.
"I can hear it too" said Kirby as he finally stopped laughing, and got up "Me to, where is it though?" said Dusty "Found it" said Kirby depressingly looking across the water to the south-east.

On the Old Trawler...
"Hey, Boris, what happened to Stella, you guys break up, I haven't seen her in a week" Balto said under his blanket noticing Boris come up on the ramp "huh, oh yeah, she's up north with her friends, she'll be back tonight or tomorrow." Boris said only hearing what happened to Stella.
Balto thought that was odd because Jenna is coming home tonight too from her trip she took with Rosie and her family to Fairbanks to visit relatives.
Balto then began to hear the same buzzing sound as Kodi did but more clear to him without the waves and three people talking at once. "Please don't be another plane" Balto thought to himself. "Boris you..." Balto said but Boris was gone. Balto got up and put his front paws on the rail of the boat and was looking around, then saw Kodi and his team down the beach looking around for it too "Well I'm not going crazy, they hear it too" he thought to himself. "Wait, what's that" he said to himself looking down the water to the south-east, he saw a floating black, bumpy line just above the horizon.
"If that's another bush plane looking to take their jobs again, I'm not helping them this time" he said to himself looking back to his son's team.
He looked back to the distant plane heading right for Nome getting bigger every second.
"I'm going to go get a better view" he said to himself then jumped off the boat and jogged to Kodi and his team.

"Kodi, you sure it's a bush plane it looks bigger" said Ralph "I only see 2 wings not 4 like last year" said Dusty.
"Kodi" someone said behind the team "Dad!?" Kodi said surprised and he said "Dad, there's a plane..." "I know, I need to see it, I'm to go get a better view" Balto said not even stopping, he jogged right past the team and Kirby and Ralph followed. It was only Kodi and Dusty at that spot.
Dusty was very nervous about the plane, but she knew Kodi can find a way to cheer her up, he always does. She moved closer to Kodi and said to him "Kodi, what happens if that's another Bush Plane, I really don't want to race another plane" Kodi looked away from the ocean and to Dusty, he can see the fear in her eyes, he smiled at her and nudged her on the shoulder and said "Hey, don't worry, It's too big, I'm hoping it's a cargo plane carrying supplies for that new building back in town" "I'm hoping that too" said Dusty a little more relived.
"Guys, guys, I see more than one propeller, I don't think it's a Bush Plane" Ralph yelled running over with Balto and Kirby following "Ralph calm down what is it then" Dusty said "A Cargo Plane" Balto said "Yeah... what he said" Kirdy said behind Balto "Told ya" Kodi said to Dusty sarcastically. She then gave Kodi a playful evil eye and playful pushed him. "Your right for once" she joked.

2 minutes later
The plane went too low as it approached the beach and was about 10 feet above ground. "Put you heads down!" Balto yelled as the plane flew at low altitude right over their heads. Balto took a good look under the wings. Both of them had a symbol that neither Balto nor any other dog in Nome had ever seen before. It was a circle and a star inside of it and in the middle of the star was smaller circle.

The plane gained altitude and flew over the town. Balto and his son's team hoped it would just keep flying, it didn’t. The plan circled around and landed as close to the town as it can so it's able to take off again.
Everyone who didn’t see the plane before see it now. Every dog and human went to see the plane. Balto and Kodi's team cut through the large crowd of people and dogs up to the front. When Kodi got there he heard in the background Mel complaining about the plane. Kodi rolled his eyes and looked at the strange plane. This plane was 3X the size of the Bush Plane, in fact this lane was so big, it needed 3 propellers to make it fly. The plane said on the side of the hull "US Air Corps" and under that it said in small white printing "Washington DC". With the three propellers still turning, everyone stood a good distance away from it. The 5 dogs can heard people saying "What's the Military doing here" and "is Alaska now an official state of the US" and "I wonder if it's that’s the Police team we sent out for". Balto was confused of what they were talking about. Then in the Mayer of Nome budged through the crowd and up to the plane.
Then the two pilots of the plane stepped out of the cockpit in full military uniform and walked up to the Mayer and both saluted him and one said "Is this the town of Nome, Alaska" he said putting his hand down. The Mayer said "yes sir it is" "Good afternoon, I am Captain Kyle Patterson and this is my co-pilot Sergeant Luke Wales, we are here for a delivery for a Police team you sent out for from New York City, sir, here is the paperwork signed by Vice President Charles Dawes himself" said the captain. "Ah we've been expecting you, but your plane says Washington DC" said the Mayer "The planes from DC the team's from New York" replied the captain "I see". "Wow, this has Dawes's signature to, and... President Coolidge's!!! Wow, I need to hang this" the Mayer said read the signatures from both Vice President Charles Dawes and President Calvin Coolidge.
(Yes, both Dawes and Coolidge were in the White House at that time, they both left a little less than 2 months in the future)
"Anything else, or should I let them out?"."No, there now official citizens of Nome" said the Mayer. The captain gave a whistle and then yelled back to the plane "Let 'em out".
The humans in the crowd couldn't hear what the Mayer and the military captain were saying but the dogs were able to hear every word. Then the back door, under the tail wing slowly opened. Then two black cars with a red light on the top rolled off the plane. The cars said "Nome Police Department". Inside the car was tons of luggage and the drivers both were wearing Police caps and Police uniforms. Then the two engineers of the plane were carrying a large and long wooden sign also saying "Nome Police Department". The crowd split into two to let the cars and the engineers through. They stopped at the newly constructed building two houses away from the Post Office, separating the two was the Town Hall.
Then back at the plane, two men also dressed in a Police uniforms walked down the ramp followed by another man dressed in a uniform but with more metals and 5 stripes on his left cuff and a big stomach and a mustache.
Following the over dressed man was two dogs, one German Sheppard/Border Collie mix and one Irish Setter/Irish Wolfhound mix. The German Sheppard mix was 90% black and 10% tan, and dark brown eyes. The Irish setter mix was light brown with a white underbelly, and sage (green) eyes.
Then the overly dressed officer walked over to the Mayer and said "You must be the Mayer, Chief Wayne Tack at your service" he said in a New York accent and gave the Mayer a salute. "Welcome to Nome boys I guess your employees have already found your new station" the Mayer looked back and saw one of the other officers who drove one of the cars waving behind the split crowd. "make your selves at home" the Mayer said then one of the officers named Joe Prowler, the most in shape officer in the Police team, walked by carrying a crate of ammunition and said as he walked by "Already have" he said with sarcasm.
As soon as the dogs got off the plane the first thing that they said was the German Sheppard mix, he was complaining "Oh my god, it's freezing" he looked up and around and said "no skyscrapers" then he looked in the streets and complained again and "no cabs or trolleys, what is this Jersey?" he complained in a very high New York accent. "hey, dude, where not in New York any more, there ain't no more cabs, such thing called walk' in" said the Irish Setter mix in a 1/2 New York and 1/2 Philadelphia. "Eh, yo, man, I'm getting a little creped out here, everyone is stare’ in at us" "we are the are the new boys now, com’n you baby lets go meet some, we're now risking our lives for 'em now" "alright se ya, bro" the German Sheppard mix said, he then gave the Irish Setter mix a paw slap and a shoulder slap.
The two dogs split up, the Irish Setter mix got called to help bring stuff to the station but the German Sheppard mix walked over to Balto and Kodi's team. "uh oh, he's coming to us" Kirby said "what are you worried about he's a cop, not a Steele" Balto told him.
"Eh, yo, you guys, hey, what’s up" the German Sheppard mix said making his final approach to the 5 dogs. The dogs were a little nervous so they let him say something first. "What's up guys, I'm your new law enforcement here, my name's Medic Britoni" he said. "Hi, Medic, I'm Kodi" said Kodi "Eh Kodi, how 'bout the rest of ya" Medic said.
Everyone but Balto said there names and Medic turned to Balto "how 'bout yellow eyes, say, you kinda look familiar, have been to New York" Medic asked "who me, nah, my name is Balto" "wait, Balto, THE Balto, no wonder I knew you". Everyone looked really confused and Balto said the most confused "how, the 1925 serum run?" "That’s how everyone knows him" Dusty mumbled Kirby and Ralph chuckled. "Yeah Balto, the world knows you, kid, the humans even built a statue of you and everything" Medic yelled excitedly "You serious, Dad you’re a worldwide hero" Kodi barked "Dad?" Medic said surprised sense Kodi's a red head and Balto's grey like. Medic looked back and forth at Kodi and Balto and said "I see no resemblance... never mind, so you guys must be sled dogs, I heard of you guys, well Balto over here" he said noticing that Kirby still has his sled caller on. "Um, yeah, we work for the U.S mail" Kirby said "So what roll do you play in the Police, Medic" Dusty said "Well, my partner and I are more than just sniffing out human criminals, we help dogs out to"
"Who's your partner?" asked Ralph "I'm sure you saw him, I think the whole town did, he's that loud mouth over there, his name is Sarge Petty"
"Dad, you Ok" Kodi said noticing that Balto looked like he's drunk and ready to collapse. "Huh... oh yeah... uhh... I, I'm going to go lie down" Balto said as he turned away back to his boat, he walks back very dizzy and light headed.
"OK then" Kodi said sarcastically at his dad. "Eh, I don't blame 'em, they made a statue of em, I would've been passed out a long time ago" Medic said
"So, just some questions of the town... Eh, I’m a cop, I got to know this town by heart, and does this town have an alarm system?" Medic asked "yeah we do, Mel calls it the E.D.A.S." Dusty said "who?" Medic said "Oh sorry, he's that guy over there who is freaking out right now" she said pointing her paw past Medic "Oh geez, not another one" Medic said sarcastically looking behind him at where Dusty just pointed, and it made the team chuckle a little.
"Ok... umm, and is there a...?" "MEDIC, COM' ERE BOY" the Chief called in the distance "Ugh, I hate it when he calls me 'boy'" Medic said rolling his eyes "alright I got to go, catch you guys later" Medic complained as he began to run to his owner.
"Hey wait" Kirby called "Yo" Medic said as he turned around. "We've never been to a city, you want to tell us about it later" Kirby called to him "Yeah... yeah, I'll like that, I can know more about ya to" Medic said and left. Kodi and his team left to, along with most of the crowd.
Chapter 2: The Sunset Stroll
7: 21 PM
The Police Station is about 1/2 way done on the furniture, the military pilots and te plane's engineers are staying in Nome's hotel for a while, and it has been 2 hours since Medic told a few tales of the city life in the city that is considered the "Capital of the World", New York City. Sarge Petty, the partner of Medic Britoni has meet Kodi's team 1 hour ago. Jenna has returned home from Fairbanks and at Balto's boat, Balto has told Jenna that humans made a statue of him in the "Capital of the World". Kodi and Kirby are taking about some random gossip they have just heard from Dixie. Dusty is on her Sunset Stroll she takes once a week to have time to herself. Ralph is walking through town trying to find something to do. Sarge was talking to some citizens of Nome, and flirting with a few girls....... OK, a lot of girls. And Medic was studying the town, trying to remember where everything is.
"Ok, one more time, Station, Post Office, Store..." Medic said in a tired way pointing to each building. He then saw Ralph walking down the street "Bob, no, Kenny, no, wait, Joey..." "Ralph" "Ralph, *gentle smack on the head* sorry man, so many new things" said Medic "hey have you seen the other guys, I haven't seen 'em since a couple hours ago" Medic continued.
"Yeah, Dusty I'm pretty sure is out on her sunset stroll and Kodi and Kirby are at the Post Office making up some random jokes, I don't know, that's why I'm here" Ralph said. As Ralph was talking Medic looked over his shoulder and behind him Kodi running from an ally, across the road and to the ally on the other side. "Medic you-hoo, you there" Ralph said "excuse me Ralph, I got to go and do some Police work, tell me later, K kid" Medic said still looking past his shoulder. Then he began to run past Ralph and followed a suspected whiteness, Kodi.

"Alright, Kirb, I'll be right back" Kodi said getting up to go outside "Where you go'in" Kirby interrupted. Kodi turned around and said "Nature calls" he said anxious to go out. Kirby thought about it for second, then realized what he was trying to say. "Oh... hey you got to go, you got to go" Kirby answered back and Kodi jolted out the door.
After Kodi did his thing he heard a faint yelp of pain and fear from a female canine. At first Kodi thought it was just his imagination or the wind but heard it again but louder and more intense. He now knew someone was in trouble. Kodi then tried to follow it. He left the ally and to a street, he saw Medic talking to Ralph on the corner of his eye. Kodi thought to himself "Medic's a cop, he's trained to do these things, no I can't stop I might be too late" he thought as he vanished out of Medic's sight into the ally on the other side of the road, little did he know that Medic is now following him.

Kodi followed the yelps all the way to the outskirts of town. As he was out of town, without all the fumes and other smells caused by humans, Kodi can smell the fear that is set on the victim, and the evil of whoever is doing the assault, or worse, rape.
He followed the scent and the sound of victim all the way to the to the edge of the forest way on the outskirts. As he was almost there, he was running as fast as he could to reach the victim before it's too late. He then heard a New York accent voice say in the distance "Someone's coming boss" Kodi heard some other mumbles going back and forth and then he heard a different New York accent yell "JAILBIRD, COM'ON".
Kodi leaped over the mound of snow and stopped dead in his tracks. There he saw lying on the cold snow that made is heart skip 3 beats, it was his best friend, more of a friend than Kirby and Ralph combined. It was Dusty lying in the snow bleeding, badly bruised, and out cold.
"Oh my god... Dusty!!!" Kodi yelled running over to her. She opened her eyes, she couldn't see who it was with her eye sight blurry, so she thought Kodi was her attackers and said to Kodi "what's wrong... don't have the guts... to finish me... off" she said "Dusty... their gone... it's me... Kodi" he said knowing she can't see him well. "K-Kodi... thank god... a good guy" she mumbled, Kodi didn’t answer, but felt the rage building inside of him.
He looked into in her eyes, normally was full of joy and happiness and always brought him thoughts of the calming Bering Sea he always played in as a pup and the peaceful mountains that surround Nome. But these eyes of Dusty's were dull, lifeless, with tears of pain streaming out and only brought thoughts of revenge to ever did this to her.
Just then, a black figure comes crashing through the pile of snow Kodi jumped over. It was the best person ever at times like this, it was Medic. "Yo Kodi... don't ever challenge me to a..." he said panting but stopped short because he saw the injured dog lying in the cold snow.
Medic then lifted his eyes and mumbled "oh my god, 1st day, 1st DAY... OK, Kodi what happened" "I- I don't know I- I just found her like th- this" Kodi shuddered "Calm down I've seen too much of this, now she's awake right" "yeah she was just talking a second ago" Kodi was beginning to shake as he said it. "Aright kid, keep talking to her while I examine her, I've seen worse, don't worry".
Kodi bent down and wiped her tears and said "It's going to be OK Dusty, Medic is supposedly a professional you'll be back in town and back to yourself in no time" he said "K- Kodi... are you sure?"she breathed. Then Kodi's heart just fell and he lost all control of his actions and he licked her cheek, Kodi blushed real hard but Dusty couldn’t tell what it was due to her injures. Kodi gained control once more and said to her "Dusty, I'm absolutely sure" he said still blushing.
"Awww, how cute" Medic teased after he saw that whole thing. "Shouldn’t you be working on her, Medic" Kodi snapped at Medic now blushing from embarrassment. "Yo, chill, it's only a few cuts and bruises, big whoop" Medic said "Now let’s bring her to safety somewhere" he continued.
Medic rotated around and used his side to lift her up "Kodi help me out here" he demanded. Kodi went to the other side and helped Medic, and Dusty using as much power as she can to get up, but then she fainted in doing so.
As soon as they got her up they began to lift her on Medic's back and then to Kodi's. Now she is on both Medic and Kodi's backs, with Dusty's uncounted head on Kodi's side.

"Hey boss, there's someone coming, should we take it out" said a golden receiver/black lab mix named Captain, Cap for short, looking through a bush at Dusty "I say we should, it can spot our location, aren't we supposted to keep a low profile" said a golden retriever/German Sheppard mix named Commando as he walked up to the bush next to Cap."We can take 'em" said a blue-eyed rotwilier named Revolver, nickname Jailbird next to his boss.
Then the boss of these three canines is a green eyed Irish Setter/Irish wolfhound mix with a scar from his left ear down through his left eye and to his left side of his lip, his name is Lieutenant and said "If it gets closer, we'll take it down" "I think that's a chick" said Commando said taking a good look at Dusty as she approaches from a distance. "Boss, is she close enough to take her out now" asked Jailbird.
By that point they hadn’t noticed that Dusty was too close to them and she heard voices coming out of the woods right next to her, she said "who's there". Commando stepped out of the bush and said "Ello beautiful" Dusty was very confused at this random moment "Can I help you?" she asked "Not really... but your just at the wrong place at the wrong time... NOW!!!". Jailbird came out of nowhere and whaled her in the face with is paw. She tumbled to the ground and yelled "What was that for, I didn't do anything wrong!!!" "No you didn't, where trying to keep a low profile" said Lieutenant coming out the woods.
Dusty was startled by his scar, she knew he was no good, but she tried no to judge someone by their appearance, but she just got hit in the face so it was kind of hard to think he's a good guy. "I don't want no problems, I'll leave you alone, I won't tell anyone your here, I swear it" declared Dusty.
"Sorry, I don't want to take that chance... Jailbird?" ordered Lieutenant. Jailbird attacked Dusty followed by Commando; Dusty then began to fight back but failed. "Cap, take watch, sees anyone, tell us" ordered Lieutenant as he was watching his partners take down their target.
Dusty obviously now knows that these guys are no joke. She fought back as much as she can, she was able to scratch Jailbird in the face and bite Commando on the leg but it wasn’t even enough for them to flinch, she's never seen dogs this tough before.
Now the only thing that went through her mind is the question that scared her the most 'Is this attack going to get sexual, am I going to be raped to?'. That question kept coming in her mind.
A few minutes later Dusty just couldn't stand anymore, she collapsed to the ground. "Eh, Boss should I do the final blow, or do what us to have a little... fun?" Jailbird asked to Lieutenant. Dusty's eyes opened wide when she heard the blue eyed rotwilier say 'little fun'. Before Lieutenant could answer Cap called out "SOMEONE'S COMING BOSS" he yelled as he saw a rust colored figure running right for them. "We can take 'em" Jailbird said standing over Dusty's out cold body ready to deliver the final blow "NO, make a break for it, now" Lieutenant ordered.
Cap and Commando followed Lieutenant behind the bush but Jailbird was about to kill Dusty but then Commando called "Jailbird Com’n". Jailbird knew that this mysterious redhead was close so just hit Dusty on the head enough to not remember anything of what just happened and he ran after his partners behind another bush.
Then the mysterious redhead leaped over the snow bank and was completely stunned at the sight of the injured dog.
"OK, let’s jump him now" Jailbird said stepping forward to attack but was stopped by Lieutenant "Do you want to cause more notice were here, he knows, and if we attack him there will be two dogs missing, back in New York it wouldn't make a difference because there is over 3 million dogs, look at that town, there’s probably like 30 dogs, 2 dogs make difference here" he said quietly "didn't need a speech" Jailbird answered.
Dusty's attackers just watched Kodi until a black figure crashed right though the same snow bank as Kodi jumped over. "Whoa, that can't be" said Cap "Is that Medic" Commando said looking at his boss. "That's impossible, he's in New York, how is he all the way here in Alaska" said Jailbird.
Lieutenant ignored his partners and Medic and played attention to Kodi's actions. He then saw Kodi lick Dusty's cheek, Lieutenant's eyes widened and said to his partners "uhh, guys, I think we may have awaken a sleeping giant" "why" Commando said to him "Looks like Medic is an ally of that redhead, and I think that girl we just attacked is the redhead's mate" "So" said Cap "remember in New York, Medic will do anything to help his allies, those 30 dogs, they can come and hunt us down... back to camp now" Lieutenant ordered and ran into the woods.
Cap, Commando and Jailbird looked at each other and followed their boss "Commando, cover our tracks" Cap ordered. Cap and Jailbird ran after Lieutenant and Commando shuffled the snow to hide their paw prints.
Chapter 3: The Healer
7: 37 P.M
No, No, No, No, I step right, you step left" Medic yelled at Kodi "That what I was doing" Kodi yelled back "No you were stepping right" Medic corrected him "I was stepping left" Kodi corrected Medic.
Dusty was awake now, but had to suffer now by Medic and Kodi’s arguing until she finally yelled "GUYS... focus on getting... me back" she said with as much strength as she could.
There was a long silence until Medic said "Kodi started it" "Oh real mature" Kodi said in a 1/2 annoyed tone.

They were a 1/2 way back to town, the sun was just on the horizon of the ocean, the sky in an orange-like color, just then Medic saw Sarge on the edge of town, sitting next to a random house looking at the ocean. "Yo Sarge, getcha ya bum over here" Medic yelled to him, Sarge looked away from the sunset and ran over to Medic.
"Dude, what did you do Medic" Sarge teased "Doesn't matter right now, go get help" ordered Medic "Who?" "How' bout the Chief" said Medic doing his best to hold Dusty up, same as Kodi. "Got it be right back" Sarge said and ran into downtown.

"Medic... I'm going... to make it... right?" Dusty asked in a weak voice that made Kodi's heart sink again, and then he looked at Medic worried way.
Medic began to chuckle a little and said "You guys would not last in New York worrying about this, don't worry, she'll be back to her normal self in like a week". There was a little sign of relief in both Kodi and Dusty's expression.
"Kodi..." Dusty whispered weakly. "Yeah Dusty" he whispered back. Dusty's muzzle was pretty close to Kodi's cheek when Kodi looked back at Dusty. "Thank you... for saving... my life" Dusty whispered. Then Dusty, like Kodi about 5 minutes ago lost control of her actions and liked his cheek.
Dusty was stunned at what she just did and blushed, at the same time, Kodi was blushing to. "You’re welcome Dusty".
"So, we’re just going to sit here" said Kodi "Yeah, Sarge is, or better be getting help" said Medic
Just then, Sarge came running out of the streets and to Medic, followed by Officer Prowler, who was young and in shape, then after a long time came the Chief came running out of the streets and finally cought up to Prowler and Sarge.
Prowler came up to the injured dog and took a look at her, then waited for his boss. When the Chief finally came, the Officer teased him by saying "You've been eating too much donuts, Chief" he joked.
"I haven't had... a donut since we... left the city" Chief said in between his hard breathing. "Yeah... 3 days ago" Prowler joked again.

Sarge turned away from Medic, after he ordered to get help, and ran back to town. When he finally got to the Police Station, he leaped through the doggie door and began barking wildly.
"Sarge, what is it boy" yelled Chief Tack, who was behind the front desk. Sarge began scratching at the door and still barking, the Officer Prowler came in wondering from the living room after helping Officer John Drake move a couch and was wondering what's going on. "I think he found somth'in" said Prowler "OK, lead the way Sarge" Tack said standing up, and Prowler opened the door running after Sarge.
Sarge ran as fast as he could, but slow enough for Prowler to keep up because he knew the Chief would take forever. He was the first to reach Medic, Kodi and Dusty.
"There you are, another minute I would go in there and drag you out" Medic joked and Sarge chuckled "How is she?" asked Sarge. Before Medic or Kodi could answer, Officer Prowler came and bent down to take a look at Dusty.
"Oh man, nice welcome wagon" he said to himself. He got up and then came the Chief, breathing heavily. "You've been eating too much donuts, Chief".
After Prowler and Tack's discussion, Chief Tack picked up Dusty as careful as he can. "Joe, run back to the Station and call the vet" said the Chief as he began to carry Dusty to the Station with Medic, Sarge, and Kodi following.

Chief Tack walked in the Station and put Dusty on the front desk. There were blood stains on his Police uniform, Chief looked down at his uniform, "Aw man, where's the vet, I need to change" "He's on the way right now" said the Officer "OK, I'll be right back"
"Surprised that thing hasn’t ripped yet, fatty" Prowler yelled as the Chief left the room.

Medic sat at the corner of the room and looked out the window and saw dusk finally go away, and then sighed; it began to remind him of a terrible past. Then Kodi came and sat next to him. "Your sure she'll be OK" he said looking at Medic in a worried way.
Medic looked away from the window, then looked at Dusty who is on the front desk of the Police Station, then looked at the blood stains on his, and Kodi's fur from Dusty leaning on them. "You worry too much, like I said, it's only a few cuts and bruises" he said cocky way.
Sarge came and gave Medic their handshake and said "Yo, she dead yet" he joked "Nah, but that vet should be here any second now". After that Medic and Sarge began to talk about random things.
During their conversation, Kodi was watching Officer Prowler examine Dusty. Kodi began to feel a little strange, like a minor crap in the stomach area.
"Uh, nausea" he said to himself "Hey Medic, I just got a sudden case of nausea, any way to get rid of it" Kodi asked Medic.
"It's probably from all the excitement you just went through, try drinking water, that might help" Medic answered back. "Ah I'll live, I can't leave Dusty here" Kodi told him.
Just then the vet walked in carrying a bag full of medical supplies. He was about 50-60 years old wearing a simple dress shirt and jacket.
"Good day Officer, I'm Dr. Bill Henry who am I looking at today" the vet said talking to Officer Prowler. "Right here, sir" he said. The vet began to examine Dusty's wounds.
Then walked in Officer Frank Knight and said to Prowler "Joe, Chief needs ya" "What, he needs help to put on his shirt without ripping it" Joe joked. "No, he wants you and John to organize the armory and the ammo" "Aw come’ on, I'm busy here" "Looks like the Doc has it under control" Frank said pointed to the vet as he was filling a shot container with the stuff to knock Dusty out.
Joe took a deep breath and left followed by Frank.

While Officer Prowler and Officer Knight were having their discussion, Kodi kept wondering what this feeling was, he kept thinking it was what Medic said, it's nausea, probably caused by all the excitement he witnessed within 30 minutes, but nausea doesn't make you take in more oxygen than normal, Kodi then began to think it was... 'Nah... I must be crazy to think that, but... NO, it's nausea and that's final' a voice in his head was saying.
"Hey Kodi, you alive over there" Sarge said to him on the other side of Medic. Kodi took his eyes of Dusty's tail that was hanging off the desk and looked at Sarge. "Yeah, yeah, I'm fine, a little sick in the stomach, but I'll live" Kodi said to them.
Then the vet opened his bag and began to fill a shot container. "Medic, is that the shot I'm thinking of" Kodi said in a worried voice.
Medic chuckled a little "I know what you’re thinking, that's not to kill her if that's what you’re wondering, that is to knock her out, Chill kid... go to sleep" Medic joked at the end. Sarge laughed at the joke.
'How can go to sleep at a time like this' Kodi thought. Then the vet stuck the needle into Dusty and she let out a faint yelp. The vet put his hand on top of her head to calm her down. Soon after, Dusty fell asleep.
"Ah, did I miss much" said the Chief as he walked in a simple dress shirt and tie. "She just fell asleep, some of these scratches are pretty deep, but none are infected, her back left paw is sprained however" said the Doc in a relieved type voice. "OK, do you think she will be back to normal?" asked the Chief "Yes but not until at least 3 weeks", "Do you know who she and that redhead's owner is" asked the Chief again "Yeah, they both belong to Mr. Simpson, he's the U.S Mail dog sled musher of the town" said the vet as he began to treat the largest scratches. "I'm going to pay him a visit, Medic, Sarge, you come’ in" yelled the Chief.
"Yeah, we should go, we can investigate the area where Dusty was attacked" said Sarge stretching his for-arms. "OK, you can stay here and watch for Dusty, we'll go and find any clues" said Medic just before they walked out. "Watch out for wolves, I heard there is a pack nearby" Kodi yelled "Wolves, Shmolves, I'll kick their butts any day" yelled Medic outside the door without looking back at Kodi.
Kodi took a deep breath and said to himself "He is way too cocky".
Chapter 4: The Investigation
8: 24 PM
Chief Wayne Tack, with his two Police dogs, Medic and Sarge following close behind were walking from the Police Station to the Post Office, which was two houses away. The Chief knocked on the door and Mr. Simpson opened.
"Chief Tack, what brings you here" said Simpson "Mr. Simpson, I have two of your dogs at my station, and I'm sorry to say that one of them have been attacked" The Chief said taking his hat off.
Mr. Simpson looked back at his dogs who are in front of a fireplace and noticed that Kodi and Dusty were missing "What gender was the one hurt?" asked Mr. Simpson knowing one is a female and the other was a male.
"Umm, a female, grey, I think blue eyes" said the Chief thinking about it a bit. "The injured one is Dusty" said Simpson putting on his coat.
"And a redhead male is there to" said the Chief. "That is Kodi" he said just beginning to walk to the Station. "You boys stay here I'll be back in a bit" Simpson said to the rest of his dogs inside the house just before he shut the door.
"Dusty's hurt, who attacked her" said Kirby to Ralph "I don't know, but at least the Police found her and not a wolf pack" said Ralph "Should we go check her out" said Kirby looking at the rest 3 members of his team.
(OK I'm going name the two unknown dogs of the team, Totin for the tan one and Marine for the blackish one)
"Nah, it's better if we stay here, we can see her when she comes back" said Totin stretching his front legs "Yeah, it's better if we let her rest right now" said Marine.

Chief Tack and Mr. Simpson walked back to the Police Station with Medic and Sarge close behind through the Old West style sidewalks of Nome. When they got back to the Station, the vet was just finishing cleaning the cuts, after he would begin to wrap them. Mr. Simpson ran in and the first thing he did was ask if she was going to make it.
"Oh yes, and before you ask, she will be back on the sled team in no time, at least 3 weeks" said the doctor noticing Simpson had the worry in his eyes.
"Hey Kodi, we're going to investigate her attack site" said Sarge outside the door because the Chief hadn't shut it yet.
"OK, I stay here with Dusty" Kodi answered back. Just then Sarge walked up the sidewalk and caught up to Medic who was not too far ahead. Then the Chief shut the door and said to Mr. Simpson who just sat in a chair on the corner of the front office room next to the front window "So Mr. Simpson, do ya want some coffee?"
"Uhh, I don't want to be a bother" said Simpson "No, I insist" answered the Chief "Yeah sure, thank you" "Doc, how' bout you" "Coffee would be great" said the vet beginning to wrap the most severe cuts on Dusty's side.
"So how long do you think she will be knocked out" asked Simpson as Chief Tack left the room. "She'll probably wake up in the middle of the night tonight, but I think she'll be so tired from this she may not even remember she woke up" said the vet who just finished the 1st cut.
Just then the Chief walked in with the coffee, he put the vet's on the end of the table away from where Dusty was lying, and gave the other mug to Mr. Simpson. "Alright I'll be right back" said the Chief and left the room. Then heard a faint conversation in the other room with Officer Knight and the Chief. After a little while, the Chief came back in with his coffee.
Kodi, through the human's conversations, didn't listen; he focused on the vet and Dusty's tail that was hanging off the desk.

"Do ya have any clue at all who is responsible" asked Sarge as Medic and Sarge walked side-by-side up the street to Dusty's attack site. "I never had the chance to take a look around, but a smart criminal would have used this time to get rid of evidence, so let’s hope they’re not too smart" Medic said with a little sarcasm.
Medic and Sarge have now just left the town and walking to the edge of the woods where Dusty was attacked. "I wonder how the Enforcers are doing, hope they didn't quit because we’re gone" Sarge said as they were walking "Nah, Jeremiah wouldn't give in to the Deathlocks until he was dead" said Medic
Medic then looked to his right and looked at the ocean and the moon's reflection off the water; it began to remind him of a terrible past, the same one he remembered earlier. Medic then stopped and turned to face the ocean and just stared at the water.
Sarge knew what he was thinking and then he stopped "Medic... you have to forget her... she's gone bro... you can cry about her tonight after we investigate" Sarge said in a 1/2 caring and 1/2 annoyed tone.
Medic turned to him "Your right, there's more important things than her now" said Medic in a brave way. He then caught back up to Sarge.
Medic and Sarge finally made to the crime scene. "Smell anything, Sarge" Medic asked "Nothing, except for you, Kodi and Dusty, but... I do smell... peppermint for some reason" "Yeah... I do to, but there nothing, not a scent, not even a paw print, who ever these guys are, they sure know how to cover their tracks" said Medic looking around for paw prints that are not Medic, Kodi, or Dusty's.
After about 10 minutes of searching, they decide to call it quit and began to walk back. With the only evidence of a small pile of peppermint leaves behind a bush.

45 minutes ago
Back in the woods, just after Dusty's attack, the sun was setting and Lieutenant and his partners have been camping in a cave for sevrel days. Captain was out getting food for the night and Jailbird and Lieutenent were talking about a plan, while in Commando was sleeping against the wall of the damp cave.
"What are we going to do about our traces, surely Medic will come back for evidence" yelled Jailbird "Relax, we can get rid of them before Medic comes searching, COMMANDO, GET UP" yelled Lieutenant "Huh... whoa, uhh, what" mumbled Commando "Commando, I need you to go cover any evidence that we made on that dog's attack" Commando sighed "Ugh... yes, sir".
Commando got up as if he was drunk and walked out of the small cave. As he walked more, he regained his focus and went back to where Dusty was attacked. "Why can't he do this, man it sucks sometimes knowing how to get rid of this kind of stuff" Commando said to himself walking on the trail that almost lead to where Dusty was attacked. On the way he picked off Peppermint leaves off of the ground and carried them to the attack site.
Commando first put the leaves in random spots around the site to hide the scent of him and his partners. Then he looked at the town and saw Medic, and Kodi on both carrying Dusty, then saw Sarge and Officer Prowler come to the three dogs. "Looks like Sarge is here to, boy Lieutenant will not like that, and is... is that Joe, Joe Prowler, he's the cop I miss the most" Commando said to himself.
Then went back to work, he began to shuffle the snow where his and his partner's paw prints were. After looked back at the town and saw that Medic and the rest were gone. He went back to work and picked up all the peppermint leaves and shuffled the snow every step he took until he was far enough in the woods again. He put the peppermint leaves behind a bush not too far in the woods, so if Medic or Sarge comes following the scent, they won't follow Commando back.
Commando ran back to the cave where his partners were camping. When he got there Captain had come back with food, he killed an elk and brought it back. "Good thing you came back when ya did, this will be bone soon" joked Jailbird.
"Tomorrow, we will come up with a plan to get rid of our targets, so rest up, we get up at dawn" Lieutenant said after he ate and went to sleep, following the rest of them to different parts of the cave.

Back at the Police Station, Dusty is still knocked out, and the vet is treating the less serious cuts on her legs. Mr. Simpson was still sitting in the corner chair next to the front window talking to the vet or Dr. Henry, and the Chief or Wayne Tack was upstairs setting his new room up. Kodi, still exactly where he was, feeling a strange feeling he never felt before, only in the thought or sight of Dusty.
"Ah, Medic's right, I'm worrying to much, I've seen worse to, I wonder if Medic and Sarge found who's responsible" Kodi said to himself.
Then he and the two humans in the room heard a loud thump above them.
"Don't slam it down Joe" said a faint voice from upstairs "Of course you blame me" said another faint voice.
"Are they moving a couch, or something" said Dr. Henry.
Just then Medic and Sarge came through the doggie door. "Anything?" asked Kodi Medic rolled his eyes and said to Kodi "Have a mint" he said with a little annoyance in his voice putting one of the peppermint leaves they found in front of Kodi. "What's this? Asked Kodi "Evidence... the only... evidence" said Sarge with even more annoyance in his voice.
"What happened?" asked Kodi again. "Well, whoever attacked Dusty completely covered their tracks while you and Medic were gone" said Sarge who went to the other side of Kodi.
"Sarge and I will deal with Dusty's attackers, but Kodi..." said Medic.
"Yeah Medic" Kodi asked hoping he had a plan to find who did that to his best friend.
"I want you to take care of Dusty, help her, and to be there for her, K kid" Medic said in the most serious tone Kodi had ever heard from him.
Kodi nodded "Yes... anything to help her" Kodi said as a tear began to form in his eye.
Medic went back to his comedian-like self and chuckled a little "Don't go ball' in your eyes out on me, kid"
Just then the vet had just finished patching up Dusty's wounds.
"OK Mr. Simpson, she's all done, and if you have any problems, just give me a call"
"Thanks Doc, but I don't think that is necessary, Dusty is one, or maybe the strongest dog I have, she'll pull through" said Mr. Simpson as he picked up Dusty in his arms "Com on Kodi, let’s go home"
"I'll see you guys tomorrow" Kodi said as he left the Police Station.
"KODI" Medic called just as he was at the door.
"Yeah?" "Take care of her, Kodi" Medic said.
"I will, Medic, with my life" Kodi said and then ran after his owner.
Sarge looked at his friend and saw the look he has seen countless times back in New York.
"I've seen that look before Medic, what do you have in mind?"
Medic looked back at him "Bro, I saw a connection between Kodi and Dusty, and were going to help that" Medic walked by him.
"W, w, we are" Sarge said very confused. "Yup, but for now, lets help the Cheif with the furniture because I want to hit the sack" Medic said as he was walking up the stairs with Sarge following.
Chapter 4.1: The Investigation (Part 2)
11: 47 PM
On the mountain that over looked the town of Nome, sat a white wolf named Aniu, looking at the town and its surroundings. Then she closed her eyes and began to see an unstable future.
This future she saw was very unstable that she herself can't figure out how it ends.
She saw two armies of dogs colliding at each other.
Then saw Medic nuzzling a Irish Setter/Irish Wolfhound mix that looks almost like Sasha La Fleur from ADGTH 2.
She then saw a plane in the air, on fire, and crash landed, with snow, pieces if metal, and a propeller flying in the air.
Then a group of about 30 dogs struggling to walk during a blizzard. 4 of them were Balto, Kodi, Medic, and Sarge. 10 of them were wearing white-hooded robes. All of them had either a rifle or Tommy gun on their backs with a strap keeping them on.
Then saw a rectangle table in a dark room with a single lamp hanging over the table, with dogs all around it, 3 of them was Medic, Sarge, and Kodi.
Aniu then saw Kodi and Dusty nuzzling with tears of joy coming out of both of their eyes.
Then saw Medic, with his eyes glowing yellow, fighting Leiutenent while his scared eye glowing red with lighting flashing behind them.
Then Kodi at gun point to a Pit Bull/Boxer mix.
Then Finally a Black Wolf with blood red eyes laughed in the most evil way, and Aniu knew who he was.
Aniu opened her eyes and said just above a whisper, "Vadu...".
Aniu then looked back at Nome, looked at the Post Office.
"Your Adventure has only begun, my Grandson" she said. then closed her eyes again and lifted her paw. She did something that she had done to Balto at least 2 years ago.
The she remembered the vision of Kodi and Dusty nuzzling.
"If those two go together, then I should help to make that happen" Aniu said as she closed her eyes again and lifted her paw, then put her paw back down and opened her eyes again.
Then remembered the black German Sheppard/Border Collie mix she saw in some of those visions.
"Medic... I have been watching you, you will soon have your revenge, but for now, you need to prepare this town" she said as she yet again closed her eyes and lifted her paw, then opened her eyes and put down her paw.
Aniu then looked more inland at a long, and skinny field that is not too far in the woods that Nome calls "Valley Field". The same field that Balto tried to help Boris fly in Balto 3: Wings of Change one year ago.
A few seconds after, Aniu began to see split second visions in that field.
6 or 7 dogs/wolves running towards something in an aggressive way.
A Jack Russell on top of a hill on the far side edge of Valley Field with about 200 other dogs around him.
Then a wolf on top of a rock as if he/she was saying "Charge".
Then saw the same black wolf with blood red eyes walking in that field, with dogs and wolves running past him.
Finally she saw the same vision again of the two armies of dogs/wolves colliding to each other in that field.
Aniu then looked back at Nome and said to herself "This town better be ready for what is coming" she said.
Just then she began to vanish and then left with snow swirling and then floated away.

(What did Aniu just do, and what was she trying to see. I'll give you a little hint for Part II, "It was the same thing Aniu did to Balto back in Wolf Quest". Anyway tune in for "Love's Crime, Part II: The Story Really Begins", starting with Chapter 5: The Dreams. I promise Part II won't take forever like this time was.
