Ch.1 Interested
The towns of Alaska alwarys interested Aniu. She would watch the people and dogs in their daily lives. She'd wonder how her life would be to live among them. Though there was one particular dog Aniu would always end up watching. He would come out of his home and do things like run around or walk somewhere with friends. Aniu always caught herself watching him. He was a brown muscular husky and he interested Aniu.Though she never got a good enough glance of to see what his face looked like.
That night Aniu quietly left her pack to ge a better glace at the town. As she was walking through the streets she caught a glimpse of a man in the window of the house not far from her. She stopped and looked to see him not there anymore. a few seconds passed and then the door slammed open revealing the man with a gun in his hands pointed at her. As what she thought as her death was about to happen a dog came out of nowhere and pussed her out of the way. A bullet flew through the air right where she had just been.
"Come on."The dog said "Follow me."
He escorted her away from the man and lead her into a nearby boiler room.
"You'll be safe here." the dog said
Aniu turned to look at the dog. It was the brown dog she always caught herself watching. Except this time he saved her life and was standing right in front of her.
"It's you." Aniu wispered to herself.
"What?" he said
"Oh, nothing I just..." Aniu said
"Okay, uh.. what are you doing here?" he asked
"I'm just looking around." Aniu stated
Aniu was staring at him, trying to see who she had been watching this whole time. He was handsome, kind, and muscular.
"What's your name?" he asked
"Aniu." she stated "What's yours?"
"I'm Riley." he said.
"Okay Riley thank you for saving my life." Aniu said
"No Problem, But you gotta be careful with that guy. He hates wolves. Most dogs and people around here do." Riley said
"Then why are you with me?" Aniu asked
"I don't really care." Riley said "I don't see what's so bad about you guys."
"I like that." Aniu said "thanks."
" Well I better be going." Aniu said "Thanks again."
"I....I want to meet you again." Riley said
"Okay where?" Aniu asked
"Tommorow night at...at the shipyard. You know where that is?" He asked
"Yah. I'll be there." Aniu said
Ch.2 The Shipyard
The next night Aniu snuck out again to the shipyard where Riley already was.
"Hey." Aniu said
"Oh hey." said Riley "Perfect timing."
Riley and Aniu sat down in an old wreaked ship and started to talk.
"So, tell me a little about yourself." Riley said
Aniu started to tell Riley all about her pack and life as a wolf and so forth.When she was done, Riley told Aniu how he used to be a race dog and also about his life in Nome which was the town they were in. After talking for awhile they both knew they liked each other.
"So how long are you gonna be in Nome?" asked Riley
"Well hopefully for awhile." she said "My dads the leader of the pack but I still don't Know when we leave or when we stop."
Aniu and Riley talked more and more and soon they really got to know each other.Then sun's first light started to show on the horizon.
"Oh no. I better get going." Aniu said
"Why?" asked Riley
"My Dad and the pack don't know I came." said Aniu "Be back here tonight at the same time and I'll see you then."
Then Aniu gave Riley a tender lick on the cheek and left.
Riley was surprised but happy. He really liked Aniu and now he knew she liked him. He happily troted home until the next night.
The next night as they both showed up they seemed more than friends. They stayed the whole night together.
The next morning Riley woke up and saw Aniu cuddled up to him. He licked her on the forehead and she woke up.
"Good morning beautiful." Riley said " We are now officialy mates."
"I'm glad to see you're so excited." Aniu said
"I love you Aniu." Riley said
"I love you to." Aniu said.
"We have to be together... you can't leave." Riley announced
"But you can." Aniu stated "Join the pack."
"Aniu... I don't know..." he began
" It's the only way we can stay together." Aniu said
"What would your father think." asked Riley
"I'll talk to him." Aniu said
Then Riley followed Aniu to her pack and when they got there they were in for a surprise.
Ch.3 The Pack
"Aniu, where have you been." asker Anius father "And who on earth is this." he said looking at Riley.
"Father this is Riley he... he's my mate." Aniu said
"What?" her Father asked "You know your body might not live through the birth of different kind of dogs pups."
"Thats a risk I'm willing to take." Aniu said.
Aniu's father looked at her then at Riley then back at Aniu. He lowered his head then sighed.
"What's done is done, we must move on now." Said Aniu's father
Aniu and Riley smiled at each other and then followed the pack. They stayed together all the time and looked out for each other and then a few months later the pups came.
When Riley had gotten word of the pups he sprinted to their cave. It was happening. Riley could hear Aniu's whimpers and then they slowly became pup whimpers. He prayed that she was still alive and went in.He found Aniu with five new pups. Aniu was still alive and happy,along with Riley.
There was one pup that looked like Aniu which they named Tiksa, one that looked like Riley which they named Lex, then another that looked llike Riley but it had a gray tint to the brown who was named Balto. The other two looked like Riley and Aniu and they were Kida and Sodi. There litter had come.
Aniu and Riley's pups were not able to walk yet, though they were close. The pups were just over two weeks old. Balto was determined to walk because he wanted to be a racing dog like his dad was. The wolf pack had moved very little since the arrival of the pups. But whenever the pack did move the pups rode on the backs of their parents.
Aniu and Riley's lives was exciting. They loved each other more than ever since the pups arrivals. The pups were healthy and playful even though they could't walk yet.
A few days later most of the pups took their first steps.The only one who hadn't was Balto. He tried and tried but he would always fail.
The next morning Riley woke up early and walked outside the cave. Immediadly as he walked out of the cave he was hit hard by something. Aniu woke up and saw two bears right outside their cave.
"Aniu, get the pups out of here, i'll hold them off." yelled Riley
Aniu grabed Balto in her mouth since he was the only one who couldn't run. The rest of the pups followed Aniu out of the cave. Tiksa, the first one that walked, went to help Riley, or try.
"Tiksa, no" cried Aniu but Tiksa had already gone.
Aniu couldn't do anything so she ran. then she remembered the pups couldn,t run fast yet. She looked to see if they were still behind her but they were no where in sight.
"No, i ran to fast." she said
Aniu looked ahead of her to see the shipyard where she and Riley had first met. She climbed up on a wreaked ship nearest to her and set Balto down.
"You stay here I'm going to find help." Aniu told Balto
With that Aniu ran into town and then as she passed, the house next to her she remembered to man with the gun. Then the door slammed oped and the man had his gun. She tried to run away until she heard the shot, felt the sting through her body, and then saw nothing.
Ch. 4 Boris
Balto was still on the boat awaiting the arrival of his mother who would never come. He looked up to see formations of geese flying south.
"It must be winter." he thought
Then Balto heard something right next to the boat.
"Hey, you think you can just leave me? well good riddance." it said
Balto looked over to see a goose yelling up at the sky.
"Who are you." Balto asked
"What? Oh I'm uh Boris." he said
"That's a wierd name, I'm Balto." Balto exclaimed
"Speaking of wierd." he whispered then said "Well Baltowhat are you doing here?"
"My mom put me here and told me to stay put and that she would be back soon, but she's not here yet." Balto said
"Well Boychick, you need company?" asked Boris "I have nowhere else to go."
"I guess." Balto said
So Boris hopped on the boat and started talking about his homeland, Russia, and that he comes to Nome during the Summer and spring. And then he told Balto about two annoying bears he met awhile back.
"What about you kiddo?" Boris asked
Balto told Boris about the wolf pack and the bear attack and his missing siblings and about how his mother brought him there and so forth.
"Don't worry kiddo." said Boris "I'll take care of you, you have nothing to worry about."
3 Years later
Baltohad hardly ever left the boat with Boris ever since his mom left him off there. S this day he decided to go into town and see what there is to see. He told Boris that he'd be back later and then ran into town.
When he got there he could see many dogs and humans roaming the streets. He walked around until suddenly he bumped into another dog.
"Watch where you're goind lobo." said a black and white dog.
The dog then looked at Balto and sniffed him.
"You look like a wolf." said the dog.
"Well, my mom was a wolf but my dad wasn't." Balto said
"So you're a mutt." said the dog
"Well I..." Balto began
"Get out of my way wolf dog!" said the dog
"Wait what's your name?" asked Balto
"Steele, and I don't even want to know your name Lobo." he said.
Balto started to walk around more and keep exploring when he saw another dog. She was a beautiful red and white husky. Balto just watched her until she saw him. Balto could feel himself blush and then he took a few steps back.
"Who are you?" she asked
"Uh I'm Balto." he said
"Well I'm Jenna and I also have to go now." she said
And with that she turned around and left.
Balto sprinted home to tell Boris about his day. When he got there he told Boris about everything from Steele to Jenna.
"Ah, this Jenna girl, is she pretty?" asked Boris
"Beautiful!" Balto said
"I smell love in the air." Boris said
"Well...she's..." Balto began
"Go talk to her." Boris demanded
"What?" Balto asked "What would I say?"
"Just be the nice, charming pup you are and become friends with her."Boris said
"I... I guess I could try." Balto said
"Yes now go...GO!" Boris demanded
Then Balto took off towards Nome. When he got there he started to look for Jenna.Then he heard a voice behind him.
"Who are you looking for?" the voice said
Balto turned around to see Jenna.
"Jenna, hi... uh... how are you?" Balto said
"Are you looking for me?" she asked
"Uh... kinda." Balto said
"For what?" she asked
"Just to talk." Balto exclaimed "I need to meet dogs around here."
"So I heard you're a wolf dog." Jenna announced
"Steele." Balto thought
"Alot of dog don't like it, but I really don't care." Jenna said
"Really, you don't care?" Balto asked
"I don't see what's so bad about it, you can't help it." Jenna said
"Great." Balto said
"So I'll see you around?" Jenna asked
"Yah." Balto said "see you."
Then Balto happily sprinted home. When he got there he told Boris that she wanted to see him again.
"Good Balto." Boris said "Now you better get to bed, there is a dog race tomorrow you might not want to miss."
So then Balto and Boris went to sleep.
