It was earlie spring and shadow was running back to his den to find his mother. All the new born pups were being born and shadow was so exited to meet his new baby brother and sister. Shadows mother had a horible mate his name was Vick and his moms name was Saphire. Vick wasn't Shadows real father, shadows real father was killed in a moutian lion attack 3 weeks after he was born. after that Saphire was remated with vick. Vick abuses Saphire and attacks Shadow all the time because he defends his mother. Shadow was so mad his mother had pups with a man like him but Saphire ask shadow to be nice about and don't worry. Shadow was onle 8 months old so he was still young.
Shadow got to the den to see his mother laying in bed with two pups. Shadow came runing up to his mother.
"Hello Sweet heart." his mother said she had the sweetest voice
"hey mom how you felling"
"A little tierd but good"
"well then you should sleep" he said concerningly
"I promised i would wait tell Your father came home so we could name them"
"He's not my father!" he snapped
"Shadow" she sadi sadly "These are his pups hes part of the family now"
Shadow looked down at the pups they were asleep and so quite "Yea well they look Nothing like him"
"yes they do now calm down or you will wake them"
Shadow sat down next to his mom and new siblings "What you going to name them?"
"Vick wanted me to wait for him before i make any chosees"
Shadow stood up and looked at the entrence and in came Vick. Shadow tryed not to growl at him.
"Hello Honey how was the pack meeting?" Saphire asked
"They are thinking about moveing the pack some where closer to food" He said then he looked at shadow and asked "Speaking of food how come you didnt bring anything home for me too eat hu kid"
"I couldn't find any" Shadow said looking him stright in the eye. Vick hated when he would do that
"Well then go find some!" Vick screamed at him. Then one of the pups wounderd of the patch of grass. Shadow walked over and picked the pup up slowly and very carefully and put her back with his mom. Vick gave him a dirty look and walk over to the pups.
"Only two?" he said
"Yes a boy and a girl" Saphire said looking down at them
"They look alike are the twins mom?" Shadow asked
"I think so dear" she replied
"Well i was hopeing for more or at least all boys, not any girls they are no use" he said snoby like
"What do you mean?" Shadow asked curise about what was going on in his head
"You see kid, boys you can teach them to hunt, become alpha, make strong leaders and count the blood line. Girls on the other hand the only thing they are good for is making pup and only that." he said
Shadow looked down at his new sister in a sad way.
"Get rid of her."
"what?!" Shadow jumped up
"We will name the Boy fang it strong and scary but we can get rid of the little bitch"
"What did you say?!" Shdow snapped
"Kid did i give you the promision to talk, no i didn't now shut your mouth and get out!" Vick yelled at him
"I wont let you give my baby sister away as if she was a piece of meat!" Shadow was going to hold back if vick attacked
"You don't have a say on what goes on in this family I'm the Father your just a kid"
"I'm not a kid I'm almost at adult age"
"well when your an adult you can come back and do something then" vick said smileing
"No!" he yelled "I'm doing someting about it now! I'm tierd of you trying to act like your an alpha! Well heres the thing you not your a hunter" he yelled
"well so are you kid!' Vick yelled
"No i'm not"
"What you talking about kid your father was a losser hunter i bet lower then that"
Saphire was getting scared she stood up over the pups.
"No he wasn't you never met my father!"
"boys" Saphire said nicely
"Heres the thing kid you mothers the same rank as me she could only get the same or lower" Vick said thinking he was so smart
"Boys!" Sahpire yelled
Shadow didnt care he kept at but Vick stopped and staierd at her. "My Father was An Alpha!!" he yelled Vick quickly looked back at him Shadows hair rose on his back, he was ready to attack.
"you lie kid thats just a fanisy" Vick said but he saound unsure when he said that sohe looked a Saphire "i'm right Aren't I?"
"Yes you are dear" Saphire said looking down. Shdow was shocked His mother always told him his father was an alpha. Thne he relised that she was saying it just to make Vick happy.
"See kid now shut up" Vick said
Shadow looked at his mother but she wouldnt look him in the eye. So Shadow ran out the den and went and sat down at the river.
Shadow spent hours there tell he fianlly made the chose to go home before it was completely dark out. Shadow Walked in to the den to see that both pups were still there. He walked past his mother and Vick and layed down on his own Bed.
The next day shadow awoke to a little pup who hd no clue where it was going crawling across his snout. He jumped up and looked at the pup it was his sister. Looking at his sister made him sad knowin that vick was going to give her away or just constently mate her with boys. Soon his mom walked in and saw him playing with the little pup.
"You know shw still needs a name?" his mother said walking in and sitting down
"I thought you would have named her after i left last night" his said he was still mad about last night
"No, Vick dosent want to name her so i thouht you could."
"Vick doesnt even want to keep her. He doesnt car about any but himself."
"That not true he cares about you me and your brother."
"He doent car about me im not his kid fang is."
"sweetheart he does care he just has a hard time showing it" She got up to walk out of the den
"Well why doesn't he care about her" he stood up next to the pup
"I will go talk to him about it now can you please watch the pup while i find him"
"yea sure" She walked out
shadow sat there tell about noon playing with his siblings. They were staring to move around more witch was a good sighn. Soon Saphire and Vick came in to the den. Shadow stood up.
"Go find some food kid" Vick snapped at him
"Fine" he said about to walk out then he stopped "Oh by the way mom i think sky should work" then he walked out
saphire smiled and watched him walk out.
"what was that about" vick asked
"nothing its between me and him" she said licking the dirt off fangs head
"Well you need to tell me now" he looked at her
She looked up at him "I let him name your daughter" she said
"what?" he said looking at her "i said i didnt want her"
"well i want her" she said "i already have two boys i want to kepp a little girl"
he looked at her "fine" but she better not get in my way" She was happy she got to keep her.
About an hour later shadow came home with some food for everyone.
"about time kid" vick said
"sorry" he said as he put the food down
"yea you are" he said kredar didint want to argue he was still mad.
A few months past and the pups were growing, fast. vick had started to train Fang how to hunt and live on his own . shadow looked after sky with his mother but was mainly out helping vick. the pack alphas had mad a choice to move the pack to a different location with more food. all the families got everything ready and headed out a week after they made the choice.
"mommy where are we going" little sky asked
"some where theres a lot of food" she said wick walked in
"we ready to go" he asked shadow stood up with fang on his back
They all went to meet up with the elders
"friends we will be moving to a greater food area" he said as he looked at everyone "elders and pups in the front and the rest in the back" he said as the headed out
They walked for hour and hours through woods and acroos rivers. It was close to sun down when they stoped and sent out a hunting party. Shadow Was playing in a small stream with the twins. His mother and the elders.
"Saphire" elder ivy said
"Yes"
"thats you boy right?"
"yes he is" she said with a sigh
"he was born from your first mate, who was an alpha"
"yes' she said looking at him
"What would you say if we took him aside from the rest of the age group to be trained to be an alpha?"
"Really" she said looking at her
"yes hes perfect for it" she said with a smile. Saphire looked over at him playing with the twins and was to proud of him.
After a little bit the hunting group came back. they found a lot of food. After they ate they had a meeting.
"Pack it has come the time when we chose the alpha we will chose to train" elder ivy said "now all of you kids are amazing wolfs but will do better in other places" Sll the dogs looke around they were all scared on who would be chosen. Ivy looked over everyone. Sahpire and vick were siiting next to each other with fang under her legs and shadow was next to his mother with sky on his head.
"the next alpha in line is" she paused everyone was on ends "Shadow son of saphire!"
Shadow stood there in shock vick jumped up scaring fang.
"yay! big brother" little sky said slideing down shadows back
All the wolf rasied their head and howled for the chosen one
"your jokeing right" vick said "this pup has no clue what it mean to be alpha" the howling stopped
"yes he does he shows all the potentail and has the blood" ivy said
"blood yea right, and he has nothin to show"
shadow looked at him "i was chosen what so bad about that hu" she saked him
"you dont diservie it" he said looking at him "you father died a young alpha so will you" he said
the hairs on shadows pack rose as he attacked vick. they fought hard.
Vick fanilly took a swing and hit him down. Shadow stood up he had gotten him on his eye and there was blood driping off him. As they were fight nobody noticed the big storm thet rolled in then all of a sudden lighting struck the tree and fell over the area the pack was in. they all ran. vick saved himself and all shadow could find were the twins so he grabbed them and ran for shelter. Shadow and the twins got split from the pack by the tree. He got the pups int a small cave and fell from all his pain.
"Big brother!" The twins said as they ran to him.
"i'm fine i just need some rest" he said "we will stay her tell the storms gone" he put the wins father back in the cave and slept oin front of them
They woke up in the moring to birds chriping all around them. Shadow and the twins strted on thier way to finding the pack.
Weeks past and they still looked Shadow taught Fang how to hunt and fish as well and Sky couaght on to a few things. It was one night when they are crossing a medow when another spring storm came rolling in.
"what do we do"fang asked
"get across the medow" shadow said as the wind started to get stronger
The were in the middle of the medow when a bolt of lighting Hit the medow setting it into flames
"Run!" shadow yelled they ran across the medow with the fire right behind them the reached the woods and so did the fire.
Trees started falling and the fight spread fast. a tree fell right in between each other.
"Fang! Sky!" Shadow yelled but the storm and fire drowned him out
Shadow ran as fast as he could out of that part of the forest. He was finaly out and he looked down and started to cry.
"Please get out alive" he said to himself
Shadow made the choise to try to fing the pack. he walked for a good 3 months before he reached an area of a wolf pack one of the gards looked at him
"it's you! shadow you alive" he said
shadow was shocked he found his family his pack. "come we must take you to elder ivy" shadow fallowed
"Elder Its shadow hes alive" The gard shoouted at her and the whole pack was thier too and they all turned and looked at him. Shadoiw stood tall althought he was beat up pretty bad
"Shadow..." ivy said looking at him " gard go get saphire quick, come one boy" he walked up in to the high cave with the elder
"Are you still willing to take you place as alpha"she asked
"Yes i am" he said after he said that saphire walked in
"My Son" she ran to him and vick fallowed behind "where are the twins" she looked at him about to cry
"we got split up" he said looking down
"how could you let that happen my only era is lost and most likly dead" vick said
"they arent dead" he said snaping back "They both know how to hunt and live on thier own i taught the"
"Well looks like you can do something after all" vick said with a growle in his throught
"Vick! Dont speak to you alpha like that" ivy said and they all looked at her "Shadow has chosen to become our alpha and we shall hold the cermony tonight"
That night Shadow was named alpha wolf he was thrilled for this to happend but he just wished his broither and sister were there to see it.
After becoming alpha we made a chocie to howl every night at the moon hopeing one day Sky or Fang would hear him.
