Balto was walking down the road when he heard a small noise coming from a bush. He slowly started walking toward it. He pushed the branches away and there sat a little brown husky pup. He helped the pup get on his back and ran to Jenna’s house. “Jenna,” Balto whispered. Jenna yawned. “What is it Balto?” “Well see for yourself.” Jenna stuck her head out the window and looked at the pup with tired eyes. All of a sudden her eyes got big. Jenna asked Balto, “Were did you find her?” “In a bush all alone,” Balto replied. “And she looks hurt,” Balto added. “We can’t just leave her to die” Jenna said, “Bring her in.” Balto slowly handed the pup to Jenna. “What will you name her?” Balto asked. “Tessa,” Jenna replied. Balto slowly stepped into Jenna’s house.
Jenna lay by Tessa as she licked her head. Balto lay by Jenna and stared at the pup. “Jenna, I’ll stay with Tessa. You get Rosie,” Balto said. Jenna ran into Rosie’s room and barked. “Jenna what is it? Do you want me to follow you?” Rosie asked. Jenna barked again and ran into the living room. “She's coming Balto. You should leave,” Jenna said. Balto nodded and leaped out the window. Jenna lay back with Tessa. Rosie ran in. Her eyes turned big. “Jenna, did you have another puppy?” Rosie asked. Jenna tried to say no but she remembered that Rosie can't understand her. Rosie ran to her parents. “Mommy, Daddy! Jenna had another puppy!” Rosie said. “That’s nice dear,” her dad said in a tired voice. “Wait a second Jenna had a puppy?!” her dad said. Her parents quickly got up and ran to the living room.
Jenna heard them coming she saw Rosie pointing at her and saying the puppy is over there. Then she saw the parents run in. “Look at that adorable puppy dear” Rosie's mom said. “Mommy can I ask Jenna what she named her puppy?” Rosie asked. Her mom smiled and said “Yes dear.” Rosie asked Jenna “What is her name?” Jenna barked. “It’s Tessa,” Rosie said. “Wow she was right” Jenna whispered. Rosie got closer to Jenna. Jenna hid the scrapes on Tessa’s side. Rosie picked Tessa up and rocked her like a baby she looked in to her dark blue puppy eyes. "Rosie come eat breakfast. Let Jenna sleep." Rosie’s mom said. “One minute Mommy,” Rosie replied. Rosie set Tessa next to Jenna. “Come on Rosie” her mom said. “I'm coming Mommy,” Rosie Replied. “Bye Jenna, bye Tessa” she said.
Months went fast. Soon Tessa was 3 months old. “Mom can I go
outside?” she asked. “Yes dear” Jenna replied. A butterfly flew by. She
followed it, but she didn't know how far from home she was. The butterfly flew
away. “I should probably go home” she
thought. But then she finally realized she was lost. She went to look for some
help. As she was looking she saw a shadow. She slowly walked toward it. There
sat a wolf pup! “Hello” Tessa said in a quiet voice. “Hi, I'm
When she got home she curled up on the rug by the fire place just like Jenna. She yawned and fell fast asleep. Jenna came in the living room and saw Tessa. She smiled and curled up next to her. Years went by; Tessa was 14 in dog years. She now was a sled dog. But it was not easy. A little boy was very sick and the doctor didn’t have the medicine he needed. They chose Tessa’s sled dog team to get the medicine, but their lead dog’s owner was the father of the sick boy so he stayed with the little boy. Because of this, Tessa was the lead dog! They hooked up the dogs and off they went. Tessa was a very fast dog and she felt bad for the little boy so she tried her hardest. They approached a snowy hill. She used all of her strength to get to the top. Once she was on the top, she slowly slid down the other side. She finally got to the bottom. She ran and ran till she could see the man with the medicine. The man put the box of medicine on the sled and off they went. They took a shortcut through an ice cave.
They got out of the cave but there was a dead end with a
cliff! Tessa was going too fast and slid down but her claws grabbed the end.
She started slipping. All of a sudden she hears a howl. “
