Suspicious love

                              By Fire_Paw

Saba inhaled and exhaled in balanced timing as she nervously waited in the boiler room. A female Husky was sitting at the other side of the room busy talking to a male dog. She turned to face Saba and smiled.

Saba looked back at her and tried to smile but only whined as she felt a kick in her tummy, again. He twisted round to lie on her back. She felt uncomfortable and sick. “What is it?” She cried in pain.

The female dog walked forward and sat down next to Saba, “Saba, I think, you may be…. Pregnant”.

Saba gasped, not knowing to be pleased or shocked. She paused for a second then smiled “Pregnant? Puppies?” She exclaimed, “Oh this is...its. I...” Saba seemed speechless. “Oh wait till a tell Dixon thi….” Saba’s face suddenly dropped.

“Something wrong, Miss?” The husky asked.

“Oh, no, of course not” Saba lied. She thought of Dixon, her mate. How could she tell him?

The husky stood up and ran to the other side of the room to talk to the male again.

A cold air swept in as the boiler room door opened, making Saba shiver. A large black male husky walked in and sat by Saba,

“Hello?” She whispered to him,

“Ah, Hello Saba” He said bowing down slightly.

“Yes, um who exactly are you?” Saba asked with a puzzled voice.

“Oh, I’m so sorry” He began, “My name is Rovenn, I’m the vets dog,

I am here to give you a hand for the next four or five months” he said.

“Oh,” Saba looked at him. He was black with a white underbelly. He had sharp blue eyes and a strong tall figure; he looked about 29 (In dog years) Saba smiled and lay down.

Rovenn bent down, “Just have some rest Saba, I’ll be back soon” He said. And with that, he left the room. Saba tried to get comfortable with the heat of the boiler on her back. He sighed and closed her eyes. “Oh, what to tell Dixon” She whispered to her self before falling into a deep sleep.

--------

Dixon sighed heavily as he strode up and down Saba’s veranda. There was a click on the other side of the front door. Dixon could see a hand slowly open it. Saba sat inside on the matt. She gave a small nervous smile when she saw Dixon. He barked and wagged his tail waiting for her to come outside. Saba slowly came out and the door closed behind her.” Well, how are you?” Dixon asked.

“I’m Fine” She answered.

“Ok well, do you want to have a walk around town with me?” He asked hopefully.

Saba shrugged.

Dixon looked puzzled for a second. “What’s wrong?” He asked her.

Saba remained silent for a second. “Nothing, I’m fine” She said.

Dixon eyed her suspiciously. “Well then...”

“Yeeowwee” Saba cried, Making Dixon jump.

“What!? What is it? What’s wrong?! Dixon yelled.

“I...I feel sick!” Saba cried quickly. She ran towards the door and it opened.  She dashed in without another word, leaving Dixon confused and alone.

Dixon stared at the door for a second. He crept forward and scratched it with his paw. There came no answer. Dixon leaned up onto the window. A man in a white coat, and Saba’s owner could just b seen leaving the room. Dixon looked to the other side of the room and his eyes widened at what he saw.

Saba was sitting in a large woven basket. There was a large black male husky laying next to the basket. They were talking to each other and they where both smiling. Dixon growled under his breathes. He jumped down and headed towards his own home.

------------

Dixon looked down to the floor as he sat in his basket. His eyes were filled with tears. He sighed and thought why Saba was acting so strangly. Darren padded out of the kitten still chewing on dog food. He looked down at his brother and swallowed the food.

“Hey, what’s wrong with you?” He asked, and began licking his paws.

Dixon sighed and began without looking up. “Saba’s been acting strange. I looked through her window the other day, and she was sitting with… this other guy” He mumbled.

Darren looked at his brother gravely, “That can’t be good” He began, “What if Saba is da…” Then he was interrupted by Dixon.

“You really think she’s...dating that other guy??” Dixon asked.

Darren said nothing. Dixon thought for a second, and then snarled. “Saba!” He growled…

Saba sat in the boiler room alone. She heard the door creak behind her. She turned to see Dixon walking towards her. Saba smiled, “Honey!” She called, her tail began wagging. Dixon walked in front of her but did not sit. He stared at her coldly. His tail flicked and his teeth were slightly barred.

“How dare you Saba!” Dixon snarled, he growled at her though his teeth. He began to circle her.

“Honey, w-what is it, what’s wrong?” Saba stuttered. She nevously looked at him.

“I know what’s happened!” He growled,

“Oh, darling, I was going to tell you” She said, she smiled sweetly at him.

“Oh really? Well you didn’t!” He snapped.

“What’s wrong darling, I thought you’d be pleased?” Saba said.

“What? Pleased that you’re having an affair?” He snapped.

“What? Honey, what do you mean?”

“You KNOW what I mean Saba”

“I am not having an affair Dixon!” Saba growled.

“Oh, then why else are you acting like this” He snarled.

“Because I’m...I’m…”

“You’re what!?”

“ I'm...Pregnant”. She sais queitly. There was sielence.
