Aleu's eyes slowly fluttered open. "Ohhhhh" She let out a moan. "Where am I?" She asked. She tried to get up, but she fell down to the ground, hissing in pain. "Wh-what happened to my leg?" She glanced down to see the copper coloured blood stain on the ground beside her. She gasped. "Hey! You're awake!" Said a familliar voice. Ashton! Aleu realized. "Ashton! What happened?" She asked again. "When Niju clawed you, he must have clawed you hard!" He replied. "I was so worried about you." He told her. He leaned beside her, nuzzling her. "I was so worried." He repeated. Aleu returned the nuzzle. "Ow!" She cried. "Oh, sorry Aleu! I'll go get something to wrap your leg up in." Ashton sighed, and peered to the left to see a figure standing in the sunlight. Stone. "Yeah," Stone replied, his icy- cold eyes staring at Ashton. Then his head snapped to Aleu. "I'll help you." He said. Yeah, help kill you, Ashton! Stone thought. And then Aleu will have to cry on my shoulder. Heh, and this time..NOTHING will ge in my way! Aleu layed down again, as Stone and Ashton began to run off into town. "We'll be right back!" Stone hollered. Yeah-back with dead, bleeding Ashton on my back! Then I'LL be the hero!

"Kodi!" Jenna shrieked in horror; the gunshot, Jenna thought. Kodiak, please, oh please be okay! "KODI!" Balto barked as loud as he could. Still no answer. "Where in the world IS he?" Jenna bowed her head, and started to sob. Balto had never seen her so upset in her life. Of couse, she might have a reason to be...

"Uuhhhhhgg", Kodi uttered a mournfull cry. "W..What?" He glanced around. But saw nothing. All he saw was darkness. "Am...am I dead?" He questioned. He tried to stand up, but hit his head on something above him. "Ow!" He yelped. Then, he tried walking forward, but hit a cage. "cage..cage-CAGE!" Kodi then realized where he was. Inside of a dog kennel!"Oh-oh no!" He hollered. "SSHHH!! Keep it down!" A voice whispered. "Huh? oh god..." He muttered under his chilly breath. Another kennel faced in his direction. I know this dog! Kodi thought. .....No....Its..........Maxie! Kodi's eyes widened in surprise. "Maxie! I thought you belonged to the Webb family! What happened?" Kodi whispered back to the attractive female malimute dog. "Well..." She began to tell him the story.

It was a warm, fall day in Summerside. Maxie's trip to Nome had been very exitable! That, is when she met the love of her life-Kodi. Son of Balto and Jenna. She had to go back and see him! She HAD to!....If only her masters would let her off of this contraption..which they call a leash. Maxie began to bark, as loud as she could. One of her masters was chopping wood in the yard- and one was coming to let her off the leash! She began barking again, louder this time. Her master opened the door and stepped on the bridge. "You want to go over and see brother? Huh? wanna? Huh? Huh?" She cooed at the dog. Maxie jumped to lick her, and then her master knelt down to let her off of the leash. Yes! This was the chance she'd been waiting for, for 2 long weeks! Her master finnaly unhooked the chain-and Maxie bolted up the driveway. "Maxie! Come back-What are you doing?!" Her master  hollered, her voice filling the air around her. By the time Maxie had run atleast 20 miles, she stopped to rest. Her masters must be devestated! But none the less, she had to find Kodi. Find her love. But before she  even got the chance to stand up again, a net surrounded her. She cried out for help, but noone came. Not even her brothers and sisters. Not even her mother, who was standing behind the corner of a convinient store, just glaring at her. Before she knew it, she was in a kennel, traveling in a car. Then she was shipped to.......Nome! To be trained as a sled dog! Oh, it was a dream come true! And later, She was placed in another vehilcle- Where she ended up with Kodi. But what Kodi didn't know, is that she was in love with him.

"And thats what happened. All of it." Maxie finished off her story. "Even..even the part with...Oh Maxie...I never knew.." Kodi's and Maxie's kennels began to slide around."Omph!" Maxie grunted. "So...Now I'm headed to white mountain. Is it?" Kodi and Maxie heard a man say. They both gasped.

"Alright. here we are- the hosbital!" Ashton walked over to scratch on the door, but was stopped by Stone's booming voice. "No!" He yelled. Ashton turned his head to see Stone's eyes. Glaring his icy blue eyes at him, a serious expression on his face. "We should sneak 'round back....you know? A docter wouldn't let some fle-ridden wolf in the hosbital-would he?" Stone kept staring at Ashton. He began to get suspicious. "Yeah....whatever you say mon capitan..." Ashton mumured. They began to walk around back. "You know, Ashton....", Stone tried not to laugh. "Aleu really won't love you anymore when you get back to camp." A smile spread across Stone's muzzle; A confused look stayed on Ashton's face. "And why is that?" Ashton braced himself for attack. "Because...", Stone paused for a moment. "You'll be DEAD!!" He screamed, taking a daring leap at Ashton's cheast-his claws wide open.

"Balto-did I just hear someone scream dead?!" Jenna hollered. Balto's head snapped up, carfully listning to the echo of the booming voice spread throughout the forest, startling the animals. "Oh my god....that could be someone that found Kodi's......body.." Balto's head was glued to the ground once again. He slowly closed his eyes; Jenna began to cry again. Balto hated to see his wife cry. He walked over and nuzzled her. "Balto...what will we do if..if hes dead?" She asked. Balto looked at her. "Hes not. And I'm going to make shure of it!" He barked, and began to run to where he heard the voice. "My god- Be carefull Balto!" She yelled after him. "I will!", he yelled back. Then, he dissapeared into town. Leaving Jenna....alone.

"ARRGGG! RRRRRRRGGGGG!" Stone heard Ashton's painfull pleas to stop, but felt no pity. He would do anything to win Aleu over. Anything. He kept biting and biting, but didn't give Ashton a chance to get up. A chance to live. "No! Please! I'll do anything!" Ashton cried. Well, I could just tell him I want Aleu-OR-Something even better! Sheer tourture! "I'm really sorry,Ashton. Aleu isn't going to be crying on your shoulder, but on mine. I'll be so sad because of your tragic 'accident'. It's too bad the butcher stabbed you." Stone said, sounding cold and heartless. "What?!" Ashton screamed. "You love Aleu? So your just going to kill me?!" Ashton yelled again. "Yes, Einstein. When ya' figure that out?" Stone replied. "But I'm not only doing it because I hate you. I'm doing it because Aleu loves you more than me! She always has!" Stone barked, still pinning Ashton underneath him. "Nooo!" Ashton cried again. But then, Ashton had gotten another chance to live-because Balto stormed onto the scene! "Balto! It can't be!" Stone yelled. "You are supposed to be dead!" He yelled again. "What?" Balto replied. "Awesome plot twist!" Ashton declared. Nobody said anything for a couple of seconds, looking at Ashton. "What?" He said. "Ok, thats enough, Stone! Its time for you to go to hell!" Balto screamed, as Ashton and himself charged at Stone. "So be it." Stone mumbled, and charged at the two of them. There was no possiblility of knowing who was going to win the fight, but Ashton could be right When he said awesome plot twist.

"Oooohhh boy." Jenna murmured.  A gigantic grizzly bear stood before her, breathing hard and slow. It looked as if a hunter already took aim at it, but was still dangerous. She was barely evading its furious attacks. Then, with one agressive thrust of his paw, he scratched her stomack. "No!" Jenna yelled, falling to the ground. She knew better than to get up, or it would attack her again. So she decided to play dead. But if she pretended to be dead, would it try and eat them? Only one way to find out, she told herself. She stayed put for a coupleof minutes. Then, the grizzly sniffed her, and rolled her over. She heard a grunting sound, and the owner to the voice was a friendly human! We just might be saved! Jenna thought. She got up as quickly as possible. She tried to run, but was too weak, so she ran just as fast as she could-or should I say, limped? She made her way to the human, as she reconized the familliar scent. Rosie's father! She stood beside him, and watched as he shot 3 times at the large grizzly with his sniper and took it down. It shook the ground around them. "The bigger they are, the harder they fall." Jenna whispered to herself, and collapsed. Too exausted to open her eyes, she listened to Rosie's dad say, " We're closest to White Mountain, so lets go there, Jenna."

Maxie and Kodi heard the truck come to a stop. "Oh no! Mom and Dad are going to be pissed at me! Even though ther're probably not even here, I'm gonna be in crap!" Kodi cried, franticly looking around with a worried look on his face. "Why?" Maxie asked. "Because I was mad at dad-for no stupid reason!! I was just being a stupid jerk......So I ran away. I didn't know dad was in a fight....I thought he didn't care for me anymore." Kodi's head dropped low, a sad look on it. Maxie felt pity for him. "OMPH!" Maxie grunted as she was begining to get carried away by the strange man. "Kodi!" She yelled. "I'll see you again! If not, find me! Do you promise?" She raised her voice as she was being towed away into the snowy distance. "Be quiet, mutt!" The man yelled at her. "Yes!" He yelled back, but heard no reply. She was to far away. Then, his own kennel was being taken off of the truck by another man. The man let him out next to a building. Then thats when he saw it. His mother was being carried to the hosbital. So he decided to see what all this was about, and off he was like a flash. "Hey!" The man screamed at Kodi. But he didn't pay any attention to him, and kept running. "Mom! I'm coming!" He barked. She looked over at him, and jumped out of Rosie's father's arms. "Kodiak! Your alive!" She started to run, but tripped over her own feet and fell to the ground. "Aggg!" Jenna yelped in pain. "Mom! Whats wrong?" Kodi ran to his mother's side. "Watch out, Kodi!" A man yelled. "Looks like your mother is in labour. But...Since she was hit....will she and her pups make it?"

  "Ashton-look out!!" Balto yelled.  But his order was too late. Stone head-butted Ashton in the chest, sending him sprawling to the ground. But as soon as Ashton tried to get up, Balto put two of his front paws on Ashton's chest. "Balto-what ARE you DOING?! Help me!" Ashton asked, confused. "I'm helping you alright. Helping...to kill you." Balto replied. Ashton's eyes widened. "W-why?" Ashton asked again, as Balto let him stand up, and stood by Stone. "Because...." Balto's voice trailed off. "Beacause I'm...not going to kill you after all. I'm going to let you suffer-STONE!!" Ashton grew a smile on his face as he watched Balto jab his claws into Stone's neck. But Ashton turned away as balto dug his teeth in Stone's neck-and ripped it. Balto dropped Stone;let him fall to the ground and literally watch him suffer a long,slow, and painfull death. Ashton watched in horrer as Stone tried to say something, as he watched his neck sqirting blood out of it. "Tell......tell...Aleu...I.......lo.....ve..", was all Stone could say before he gurgled blood out his mouth, along with his final breath. "Come-on." Balto said. "Lets not stay around and watch." He calmy said again. Then, Aleu came running towards him and Ashton, crying. "Aleu!!" Ashton yelled, running to her side to comfort her. Then Balto did the same. "Aleu, what happened?" Balto asked. "Mom....Kodi......" She stopped. "What about Kodi and Jenna?!" Balto asked again. "Kodi had to watch..." She stopped again and broke out in sobs. "Kodi had to watch what?" Ashton said, gently nuzzling her. "Tell us the whole thing." Ashton said. "Kodi had to watch mom die. While she was having her puppies in White Mountain." Aleu finished. Then everyone was silent. "Jenna..never told me she was having pups......" Balto started to cry as well. "It must have been a secret." Ashton said. "I....want to see her again..." Balto whispered. "So do I, papa." Aleu whispered back, as they began to make their way to White Mountian.

When they arrived, they saw Kodi with Jenna. They immidiatly ran to him. "Oh...oh god!" Balto cried. "Jenna had five pups........only two survived." They heard a man say. "And she didn't survive either. Well, might as well name them......" A brown and white puppie, male, was named Cooper, and a Black and white pup, also male, was named Lightning.

Weeks later, Balto, Aleu, Kodi, Steele, and Ashton returned to Jenna's grave. There it read:

Jenna

A Special huskie who was owned by Rosi and her parents, and the wife of Balto, known as the dog who saved Nome. She is not dead, for she lives in all of our hearts.
