as we ran to the outskerts of town and split up in the woods, we did not no the danger that was soon to come. me and echo ran till day break looking everywhere for stark and lasie. as we started to walk, the bushes started to russle all around us.
" hu?" echo gets closer to me. wolves come out of the bushes. my hair started to spikt up. i started to growl.
" hello whos theis?" one of the wolves says looking at echo.
my hair spiked up evan more, my fangs started to show as i stept in front of echo to protect her.
"ha-ha, don't try, you can't beet a wolf."
" grrrrrr, wach me."
" 00oo." the other wolves said mokingly. the leader looked at them. the wolves put there ears back and started growling, one of them bent down in an attack position ready to strike.
" leave em to me." the wolf said growling.
" no he's mine." the leader wolf walked foward. he lunges foward to attack, i jump back dodging the attack.
" echo get outta the way." i yell to her.
se jumps out of the way. the wolf and i start to fight. the other wolves start howling. i get pind down to the ground.
"NYX!!"
the leader wolf is about to diliver the final blow, but before i could let that happen i kick him off, and grabed him by his hind leg and pull.
" AHH." the wolf turns around and grabs me by the scruff and troughs me againts a tree. i stumble back up and grab him by the neck and hull him down. the other wolves jump into the air and take me down, the leader wolf gets up.
" finish him."
just as there about to finish me off, sisi, and sage come out of nowhere and start to fight the wolves echo helps them fight the pack off. after acuple of minutes i regaind conshesnus. i opened my eyes to see every on staring at me.
" hu." i started to get up, sage and echo helped me. it was nearly night and we were far away from town, every one was exosted, and on top of that there was a blizzard coming. we hade to find shelter quick or we would all freaz to death. the worst part was that we had no luck finding stark and lasie.
" come on we have to find shelter quick."
"yeah."
as the wind started to pick up, we found shelter in a cave not that far from were we were at. when we entered the cave it was pich black, nothing visable. we layed down and slept, a wolves howl woke me up in the morning. i looked around echo and sisi where gone, sage was up looking out side of the cave.
" where's sisi and echo." i saked sage shifering.
" they went to go find food."
the girls came back with nothing, so sage and i decided t give it a try. we where looking for food for only a few minutes untill we saw something in an open area, it looked like somthing familiar. just as we where about to go check it out another thing came out of the snow, but it was red. at that very moment we knew it was lasie and stark.
" its them!!!"
as we ran twards them, wolves came out of the woods and started to chase them. it was the same wolves that we had faut with the night before. we pick up speed and ran after them. sisi and echo herd all the comotion and came running.
" oh no, come on sisi there gonna need our help."
" right."
they ran in the woods as though to find a place where they could ambush the pack. stark and lasie where headed to a dead end, and the wolves where right on there tail, the dead end was getting closer, me and sage had to pick up speed if we wanted stark and lasie to have a chance of survival.
" sage."
" yeah!!"
" follow me."
we turn and headed into the woods so that they wouldn't see us. they where close to where the mountain hit the ground, wich was a huge dead end, there would be no way for lasie and stark to turn. once they finaly mad it to the dead end things where going to get worse. aperantly all the comotion alertat another wolf pack that was close by.
" oh, no dead end." lasie said stoping right in her tracks.
stark stoped and turned around. the wolf pack was there .
" looks like you have nowhere to run."
that was our chance to fight. now that they where ocupied. echo and sisi jumped out of the woods ready to fight, sage and i did the same thing.
" what in the wourld."
the leader looked at us suprised. then he smiled.
" so you sevived the night, i never thought that i would see that. saddly this fight will be your last."
" don't be so shure about that shane."
" hu?" all of us said looking around. the wolves that where close by came to see what was going on. shane turned around smiling.
" well long time no see.... shadow."
shanes pack quivered at the sound of that name. the shadow wolf stood tall and with athority shane on the other hand well lets just say he looked like he was out for revenge, but didn't want it to be right now.
" come on." shane said to the pack as he started to walk away. the pack followed him as they ran off into thea woods.
" guys!!!" echo and sisi said as we ran to lasie and stark.
echo went up to the shadow wolf and looked. " thank you." she said smiling. i was alittle worried when she went up to him. the shadow wolf bowed his head and left with his pack. the rest of us came up behind her and stared as the pack vanished into the woods.
" come on, lets go home."
" yeah, i'm tired."
" i think we're all tired."
we headed back home, once we got there shooter and his friends came up to us.
" hey mutt, hows it going."
echo, sisi and lasie went strait home when we came into town, so luckuly they they wernt there.
" grrr, what do you want shooter?" i asked as he past by. he ignoroed me and kept on walking.
" come on, nyx lets go.''
" yeah.''
when we got home our musher was there looking for us.
" there you boys are." he said as he turned around to get our harnesess.
" aww man, don't tell me we have a race today."
" nop, we just have practice our race is next week." one of my team members said.
" from where to where."
" from nome to anckorage."
''what thats going to take us at least a week.'' i said growling.
" hey realax, shooter and his team are in the race to."
that made me feel a bit better, and it was the perfect time for a reamach. our mucher put our harnesess on and as soon as he mounted the sled we where off, ready for anything that came our way.
