Part  1
The pain that was ripping apart his entire body seemed to fade every time he blinked his eyes and with every blink of his eyes his world began to change. He could smell things he had never smelt before, he could hear the caged wolves in nearby rooms whimpered and breathing and when he turned to Parvus he felt his head bow down as the words, ‘My alpha…’ passed his lips. As he looked down he saw that his claws were huge and black. Deep inside he knew what was happening but he couldn’t’ control it.

The day seemed like an entire flash of events to him with flashes between himself and the thing that was taking over his body. One moment he looked at the wolves in the cages his mouth drooling as he licked his lips whilst with the simple blink of an eye he suddenly saw a group of whimpering wolves that made him feel sick and scared for them.

The Vereor gathered in room where they all slept and none of them spoke unless they had to. As the animal Aryan had become sat there and stared at them his obedience kept him quite and looking straight ahead but with the sudden blink of an eye he'd moan or groan painfully causing the others to look at him as he blinked again returning to the perfect Vereor, something inside was fighting a hard battle.

‘Tell me is he complete?’ Parvus snarled lapping up a strange green liquid on the floor as a Vereor stood behind him and shook his head.

‘There a moments that he seems confused.’

‘I don’t want someone confused I need him to answer my questions.’ Parvus snapped turning to look at the Vereor. ‘Bring him in now he will answer my questions he is taking to long to turn he might not last much longer so better to ask him now before he dies?’ Parvus grinned as the Vereor behind him nodded and ran out of the room.

His stomach moaning loudly like all the other Vereor wolves he sat down waiting to be feed like a common house dog, they waited in line looking forward not saying anything, not feeling anything just waiting.

Aryan could hear an uproar of yells all around him but as he moved his eyes he couldn’t see anything as the screams grew louder and louder and the smell of real wolves entered his nostrils making stomach moan loudly, he could feel the faint movements of paws on the metal ground as they seemed to echo like sirens all around him. The horrible sounds were bouncing around in his mind driving him crazy as he sat there sweating and barring his teeth his heart pounding at a million miles an hour until suddenly from a nearby door a group of Vereor wolves burst forward with a group of normal looking wolves looking petrified as the Vereor near Aryan all stood up causing him to do the same.

Aryan was shaking madly the smell was driving him crazy with hunger, he was smelling and tasting their fear and inside it felt so right but was also making some part of him sick. ‘Feed.’ One of the Vereor said as the normal wolves yelled in fright as all the Vereor in line ran forward towards them including Aryan who was at the front. His eyes met the wolves as he felt something inside explode as he stopped and swung around yelling at the top of his lungs, ‘NO!’ All the Vereor stopped and looked confused no one but Parvus ever told them what to do, they all looked at each other and remained standing staring at Aryan who was looking like a Vereor whilst standing in front of the normal wolves who looked just as confused as the Vereor did.

The Vereor who had just been talking to Parvus walked in and looked down to see Aryan and yelled out at him, ‘You Parvus orders you to see him and take those wolves away we can feed later.’ Even though all the Vereor looked almost exactly the same they seemed to be ale to be pick out single individuals from each other but never called anyone by name unless they referred to Parvus or themselves as a whole.

Stepping forward obediently Aryan suddenly stopped himself as he put his head down feeling himself clench all over as he yelled painfully as his head shot up looking at the ceiling as they returned to their normal brown, and his huge body and claws seemed to fade into his normal body which in comparison seemed to so small. Still no one seemed to understand what was going on as they stood there but the Vereor who had called him before walked forward growling, ‘Parvus now…’ Looking down with it’s green eyes it met Aryan's brown ones as they looked up at him with fright. Aryan could feel his soul, could sense his conscience and ability of free-will his senses seemed normal and he could feel himself shaking as the Vereor slowly walked away whilst two remained and started pushing him forward until he started to walk to where ever they were pushing him.

He had mentally returned but his entire body felt sore and painful and with every step he felt like he was walking on broken glass. Aryan had been so scared he had been a Vereor but he couldn’t control himself, his thoughts weren’t his own and what he could have done scared him he wasn't a monster.

Parvus appeared from a room and when he saw Aryan he gasped. ‘What have you done!’ Parvus spat running forward sending spit flying into Aryans face who was just looking at his reflection in the silver walls telling himself he was no longer a Vereor. ‘How did you change back?’ Parvus glared, ‘Answer me.’ Parvus yelled raising his claw and slashing Aryan's muzzle causing him to look away from his reflection and up at Parvus.

‘I’m back…’ Aryan muttered in a state of bliss not even feeling any pain as the blood flowed down from his muzzle.

‘Should I kill this imperfect?’ One the Vereor guards said staring up at Parvus who looked furious before calming himself.

‘No…he obviously he has had something done to him…and I must find out what…’ Parvus snarled looking at Aryan.

‘Take him back to his original cell, I grow hungry. Once I feed I will decid what is to be done…’ Walking away Parvus didn’t look back as the Vereor guards lead Aryan back to his original cell before pushing him in and walking away without saying a word.

Part 2
‘Aryan is that you?’ Came a familiar voice as Aryan looked into the darkness to see a group of wolves looking back at him. Walking into the shadows he could make out Astra sitting there looking up at him.

‘Astra…I….’ Aryan started shaking his head not even knowing what to say or where to start.

‘We were told you have been turned into…’ Astra said looking away as a silver tear slid down her face as she took a small step closer to Aryan but remained in the shadows.

‘How can you be alive?’ Caelum said walking forward and standing beside Astra protectively as he glared at Aryan who took a step back in the light before sitting down, for some reason he was starting to feel uncomfortable in the dark.

‘I was them but then I wasn’t and I turned back in to me.’ Aryan said still feeling him self shaking.

‘Once you have been bitten you can never return to what you once were!’ Caelum spat taking a hesitant step forward closer to Aryan who laid down resting his head on his paws.

‘I need to rest.’ Aryan said quickly looking away from the wolves before closing his eyes, still shaking and still fearful not wanting to speak to anyone.

He wasn’t quite sure how long he was asleep for but he felt something beside him and he instantly jumped up and snapped at them before stopping and taking a few steps backward as he looked in to the scared eyes of Astra who instantly stepped backward. ‘I’m sorry!’ She said sounding scared hiding her face in the dark.

‘No I didn’t mean to snap I’m just jumpy.’ Aryan said shaking his head and walking forward to Astra so he was half in the dark and half in the light as he stood beside her.

‘I just can’t believe you're alive…when someone leaves our cage they never come back.’ Astra said looking into Aryan’s eyes who were full of fear, she slowly moved closer and touched Aryan with her nose as though making sure he was actually there and that she wasn't dreaming.

‘I became one of them, I could see what they see smell what they smell and think what they think it made me fear what I could do but there was something inside fighting it and constant voice telling me I had to go on and that I couldn’t give up and next thing I new I was back here.’ Aryan again started to feel uncomfortable in the dark as he stepped in to the light from the hallway lights. Taking a deep breath Astra slowly walked in to the light to stand beside Aryan who was looking at his reflection in the glass at the other end of the cage room. ‘I’ve changed, look at my fur its darker then it was before and my muzzle.’ He said looking at Astra’s reflection as she walked up and stood beside him, she had small paws, golden eyes and fur that was a mixture of grey and blacks and see seemed so small and skinny which made Aryan standing beside her to look more like a huge monster. Reaching up Astra slowly began to lick Aryan’s sore muzzle as he just sat down there looking at his reflection without saying a word…

That night when everyone was asleep Aryan remained awake as he tried to remember back to the day when he was at the horrible man made city with the loud noises. They must have released him back for a reason, maybe that reason was to be captured by the Vereor and to cure them, to save them? Or was it help these wolves? Or even maybe to simply destroy the Vereor so man could again return and take what the Vereor had stolen from them? He was only just a single wolf though, he had never been special but what if they made him special what if all those strange chemicals the men played with made him immune again the Vereor? He knew Parvus was no fool and if Aryan was only just starting to piece together the puzzle then he knew Parvus would know it by now which meant that he was destined to be killed which in his mind was better then the fate of becoming one of them again...that thought was unthinkable.

‘Caelum…’ Aryan whispered picking out Caelum in the dark as he woke up gasping as he looked up at him.

‘What do you want?’ Caelum said bringing his head back down onto the cold ground.

‘I need to ask you a few questions…’

‘I’ve told you all you asked for and wanted to know.’ Caelum said closing his eyes in a huff.

‘I know, thats why I want you to tell me everything I forgot to ask.’ Aryan said seriously as Caelum opened his eyes before sitting up and nodding.

‘What then?’ He said coldly.

‘Do you believe everything they tell you?’

‘Of course the Vereor enjoy too see us in pain and we know that they’ve always told us the truth because we have seen all their truths. When they say your time is up it is…’

‘Yes I know but what if they tell you lies because they know you can’t prove them to be false?’ Aryan said as Caelum shook his head astonished.

‘You dare question them? You ask for trouble no wonder you were turned so quickly after you arrived!’

‘Look at me I am not one of them!” Aryan said in a forced calm taking extreme offensive in being called one of those monsters. ‘Although I do fear them…’ Aryan said standing up and looking away at his reflection in the glass, ‘…and that has made me want to do anything to destroy them to destroy my fear. My fear its going to control me and that is exactly what Parvus wants from me from all of us. We need to let our fear show us the way it’s the only way out of here, our instincts are all we have.’

‘What are we going to do?’ Caelum said with a glint of hope in his cold eyes.

Part 3

Parvus we have found another wolf in the jungle!’ A Vereor said running up to Parvus who was snoozing in an empty room. ‘What should we do?’

Looking up Parvus stood up before stretching out and yawning, ‘This must be another friend of that Aryan wolf, put him in with Aryan and we’ll see what he has to say for himself.’

‘Yes Parvus.’ The Vereor nodded before running away as Parvus sat back down looking at a screen where he could see all the cages the wolves were in, including one where he could see Aryan sitting down in the light whilst the others hid in the dark. ‘Tell me your secrets…’ His said in a hushed voice before smiling.

‘Let me go I demand to see the Alpha!’ The wolf screamed as the Vereor forcibly lead him down the hallway by a black collar that the wolf was wearing. Aryan hearing the commotion pushed his head up against the glass to try and see down the hallway and didn’t move as the Vereor soon stood fright in front of him on the other side of the glass. Feeling him self shaking Aryan didn’t move and just watched as the wolf was pushed roughly into the cage. ‘Come back here!’ The wolf yelled through the glass snapping at the Vereor wolves who simply ignored him and walked away. Once they had disappeared the wolf simply yawned and sat down beside Aryan who looked at him with a confused expression.

‘Who are you?’ Aryan asked looking at the wolf who smiled up at him.

‘I don’t have a name but you can call me Agent.’ The wolf said its tongue hanging out of its mouth.

‘You are not like the others…’ Aryan said looking into the shadows as Astra and the others hid looking at this new addition to the cage.

‘I’m looking for a certain wolf, named Aryan.’ Agent said looking serious as he stood up looking directly at Aryan.

‘I don’t know him.’ Aryan lied sitting down.

‘I need to get out of this cage and find him!’ Agent said jumping up and pawing at the glass door trying to open it.

‘What’s going on?’ Aryan said standing up beside Agent who was still looking at the door.

‘I’m your salvation my scared pathetic wolf friends!’ Agent said loudly walking towards the wolves in the shadows who all cowered away from him. ‘I have come to save you!’ He continued with a smile as Astra stepped forward.

‘Are…are you sure?’ She said softly looking up at him as Aryan walked between them and looked at Agent with a frown.

‘I have been given a cure in my blood and once I bite the leader I will save you all, the people will come in and take you all to a nice zoo…’

‘Wait a minute.’ Aryan said shaking his head with a smile. ‘You can get us out of here?!’

Agent started to answer but Aryan didn’t hear a word of it as Caelum motioned him away from Agent who was impressing all the others wolves who were all looking for some kind of hope in this strange newcomer.

‘Tell him to be quiet, he will be heard by Parvus.’ Caelum shuddered looking worried.

‘They have good hearing but not that good Caelum and besides he’s going to save us!’ Aryan said smiling and turning to look at Agent who sporting his black collar that had obviously been put on him by the humans.

‘They will know.’ Caelum said frowning and turning around as Aryan walked back over to Agent

‘Maybe you should talk softer please.’ Aryan said deciding that Caelum had always seen sense before.

‘Excuse me?’ Agent said gasping.

‘The Vereor might hear you.’ Aryan said looking to make sure that no Vereor were standing outside the cage.

‘You mean these hybrid wolves? The humans know everything that’s why I’m here to stop them, the previous wolf was a failure and must be dead by now but I will replace him…’ Aryan didn’t take in any words as the word failure hit him hard as everything seemed to make sense. He had been right the humans had used him as a guinea pig to get in here and infect the Vereor and destroy them that’s why he couldn’t be turned fully.

‘Tell me what did they do to Aryan before he came here?’ Aryan snapped turning to Agent who laughed out aloud.

‘He was given an inferior amount of the chemical to kill them where as I will be the savior and return life to this poor forgotten forest.’

‘We the Vereor are not at all inferior…’ Aryan said in a low voice as Agent looked up at him with a strange look. ‘I mean that’s what they said.’ Aryan said biting his lip and looked away as Agent laughed.

‘The Vereor what kind of a name is that?’ Agent laughed out aloud as he walked away leaving Aryan sitting alone.

‘You look sick.’ Astra said calmly walking up beside Aryan who looked down at her. ‘We may finally leave this cage and see the world…’Astra smiled looking up at the ceiling before turning to Aryan and sighing, ‘I heard you talking to Caelum last night…’

‘You did?’ He said looking down at her as she nodded.

‘I want to…’ She didn’t get to finish because they all spun around when two Vereor guards stood at the door looking at them. Instantly all the wolves except for Agent and Aryan ran into the shadows where they cowered pitifully. Standing protectively in front of them Aryan waited patiently.

‘Both Aryan and the new wolf are to come with us.’ The Vereor said looking at them as Agent nodded happily and walked forward. ‘It’s about time I’ve been here forever!’ Aryan heard the Vereor growl low but didn’t say anything. Slowly Aryan walked out as the guards lead them towards a part of the building Aryan hadn’t yet been to.

Part 4
‘Listen to me Agent say nothing, do nothing please.’ Aryan begged looking at Agent who held his head up proudly and shook his head.

‘I’m going to do the job because that pathetic Aryan couldn’t and impress the people.’ Agent nodded as they walked into a large empty room where Parvus was standing looking out the window.

‘Leave.’ Parvus ordered as the two guards left leaving the three in the room none of them saying anything or moving. ‘Come forward and see…’ He hissed at Aryan who looked at Agent as they both walked forward towards the window where they looked outside.

‘What exactly are we seeing?’ Agent said sarcastically as Aryan looked to him shaking his head with a worried expression on his face.

‘Man, I can smell them they are outside now why would they risk another attack?’ Agent for a moment looked a little shocked but quickly hid it well. ‘After last time we had them running with their tails between their legs…’ Parvus smiled to himself.

Aryan looked at Agent and could have almost begged him to stop but he knew Agent was going to obey his orders at any cost and all Aryan could do was look away. Jumping back Agent growled low, ‘Listen here I challenge you to a fight.’ Agent snapped as Parvus laughed and turned to face him.

‘Oh maybe you should fight Aryan?’ Parvus taunted walking behind Aryan and nudging him forward.

‘Why didn’t you tell me?’ Agent said frowning and looking at Aryan just looked away.

‘You don’t understand…’ Aryan could feel the hair on his back standing up as Parvus hot breath breathed all over him.

‘You failed everyone.’ Agent said in a low voice just as there was a sudden sound of gunshots as Aryan instantly ducked low but when it stopped he breathed in deeply realizing that he wasn’t injured. Turning to the window he could see that the glass hadn’t smashed but rather the bullets seemed to be stuck in-between the glass sheets with Parvus standing there looking at them he hadn’t move an inch.

‘I liked the window it had such a nice view.’ Parvus pouted playfully. ‘Guards get in here and kill that one.’ Parvus said turning back around and looking at Agent who just lifted his head up proudly before snarling and jumping at him. Two guards who were waiting outside the door seemed to know exactly what was going on as they burst through the door and running in front of Parvus just as Agents teeth sunk into one of them. Agent didn’t get to celebrate for long because the other guards grabbed him by his collar and looked up at Parvus who hadn’t moved. ‘Kill him but not here I don’t want a mess.’

‘We’ll get you eventually!’ Agent screamed fighting against the guard as he easily dragged Agent away whilst the Vereor that had been bitten lay on the ground obviously in pain as it snarled and twisted and turned. Suddenly the Vereor started to shrink its color changing until finally it resembled a normal wolf whom now lay dead on the ground but Parvus didn’t seem to care as he walked over it with a disgusted look.

‘Now I could see you and that animal talking last night…’

‘That’s how you knew how he was carrying the cure that would change you back…’ Aryan muttered as Parvus ears pricked up.

‘Whoa wait a cure I thought you were the only who had that.’ Parvus laughed looking down at the dead wolf on the ground.

‘I suppose you’re going to kill me, so get it over with.’ Aryan said bitterly hanging his head low as Parvus sat down looking at him and shaking his head. ‘Do it and stop taunting me.’ Aryan yelled his eyes glowing green as the hatred he was feeling ran through him causing Parvus to laugh.

‘No we need you.’

‘I’m a failure and you killed Agent I’m not different then him.’ Aryan said wondering whether or not Parvus was just playing with him.

‘You and he were both different because you see if those humans send in any more attempts with a cure then we to need one…’ Parvus glinted but Aryan didn’t seem to understand ‘…we can use the original poison as I call it to make a real cure that won’t change us back or kill when one you bite us and that cure flows in a certain someone’s blood.’ Feeling sick Aryan looked up at him and shook his head.

‘Just kill me now.’ Aryan spat.

‘Guards take him back to his cell we will gather his blood later once we go and deal with these humans outside, now go enjoy the painless time you’re having because by tomorrow you’ll won’t remember what it feels like to not live in pain.’ Parvus laughed turning around and hitting the side of Aryans face with his tail as Aryan snarled and followed three guard Vereor that had come in. He knew there was no point running, the place was crawling with Vereor and his other greatest fear of man were all outside he was trapped between his two greatest fears and he knew that the only safe place he had was inside his cage with Astra and the others, faced with two fears Aryan could only choose the cowards way out because he knew fear was clouding his mind and that’s exactly what he wanted.

‘Parvus the humans have broken in on the east side with weapons what should we do?’ A Vereor wolf said walking up to Parvus who was still looking at the bullet proof glass were the bullets were suspended.

‘I don’t have time for this, make it quick and lets scare them out of here.’ Parvus replied looking at his large sharp claws.

‘Do you think we will lose as many as we did last time?’ ‘Who cares we have many more wolves to turn and once we scare the humans away for good we’ll finally be able to leave this place with a cure for the humans poison which will make us unstoppable.’ Laughing to himself he spun around and started to run away towards the sound of gunshots and yells in the distance.

Part 5
Aryan as he walked could also hear the gunshots in the distance and even though they made him shudder it gave him a little hope thinking that maybe man would save them, maybe they could defeat the Vereor and set them free…but the words of Agent when he told them about a zoo it made Aryan shake his head. He didn’t quite know what a zoo was but he knew if it was a man-made thing then it wouldn’t be letting them free, wolves were born to free not to be kept in cages whether it be by man or Vereor.

Once he reached the large cell room Aryan noticed that it seemed to be quite full and that more wolves had been added, were these more dogs like Agent that they had found? Most of them were pushing to try and get in to the corners and shadows when they saw the Vereor approach the door but it was obvious there wasn’t enough shadow to go around and some were getting aggressive as they climbed on top of each other biting and snarling to get the furthest away from the door.

The wolves had nothing to fear though because as soon as Aryan was in the Vereor bounded away towards the gunshots and the fight that was going on outside.

‘Aryan!’  Came a familiar voice as Keana ran forward and nuzzled her uncle who looked down at her with a smile. ‘I’m so glad you’re alive I thought you had been killed or worse…’ She said looking up at him.

‘No nothing happened.’ Aryan lied to her not wanting her to know what her to know he still had Vereor blood running through his veins if he told her he was afraid he’d lose her again and she’d fear him. ‘I’m very sorry for what I said before.’ Aryan said softly.

‘No I am.’ Keana said smiling slightly as the two sat down beside the door away from the crowded corners.

From the shadows Astra slowly walked forward staring at Keana who looked at her strangely. ‘Aryan what happened to Agent?’ She asked.

‘Parvus had him killed.’ Aryan sighed as Caelum walked forward and sat down with a huff.

‘Served him right coming in here and giving everyone false hope!’

‘Look he tried to help us and that’s what he should be remembered for.’ Aryan said defensively surprising himself that he was sticking up for Agent who he had also taken a dislike to but he was right, at least he tried which was more then he could say for himself or anyone else gathered in the cage. ‘Why is everyone here?’ Aryan said looking down at Keana.

‘The Vereor moved us…’

‘Yes the men are coming and they didn’t want any of us to be freed so they moved us and stuffed us in here. Save the easy meals and future Vereor no doubt.’ Caelum finished sitting down.

‘I have someone I want you to met Aryan…’ Astra said in an almost whisper as she disappeared in to the crowd of wolves who said nothing but just stared at the group near the door.

‘Who is she?’ Keana said looking after Astra who quickly disappeared in to the mass.

‘She’s a friend why?’ Aryan asked looking down at Keana, who rolled her eyes before saying,

‘She’s crazy.’ Looking down at his niece Aryan just frowned but didn’t get to say anything because Astra soon returned with an elderly looking wolf who looked very frail and tired.

‘This is Sagci.’ Astra said smiling up at the old wolf who sat down and looked at Aryan who was a little confused.

‘Hello?’ Aryan said looking at Astra who was still staring up at Sagci with bright eyes.

‘No respect these young wolves!’ Sagci said in a frail voice staring coldly at Aryan who looked taken back.

‘Tell him what you told me.’ Astra said for the first time looking away from Sagci and up at Aryan who moved a little closer so he could hear the old wolf a little better.

‘I know how we can defeat these…’

‘Be quiet!” Aryan suddenly said loudly causing all the wolves sitting down to gasp in shock. ‘They can see us the Vereor they’ll know what were saying.’ Aryan said quickly hoping he didn’t cause too much disrespect as he looked back at Sagci hoping he’d understand.

‘Listen everyone...’ Sagci said closing his eyes as Astra did the same. Taking a deep breath Aryan listen intently but all he could hear was the distant sound of gunfire.

‘I can hear gunfire but…’ Aryan was interrupted when Sagci opened his eyes and began to talk.

‘The Vereor will be too busy fighting to watch or listen to what we are saying so it’s now or never you young pup.’

‘Please go on.’ Aryan said respectfully as he stepped back as Caelum, Astra, Aryan and Keana all huddled close.

‘To defeat these monsters we must use there greatest power against them. They have superior hearing power then yell as loud as you can and hurt them, they’re large so outrun them, they have amazing smell so go somewhere with too many scents and confuse them.’ Sagci said looking up at Aryan who smiled as everything he was saying seemed so obvious and so brilliant at the same time.

‘They have trouble seeing in broad daylight…’ Aryan said smiling.

‘Then don’t fight inside in the dark go into the sunlight where they have trouble seeing.’ Sagci finished.

‘Whoa wait a minute!’ Caelum said stepping back and shaking his head. ‘Are you saying us mere wolves fight what even man cannot defeat!?’

‘What else can we do? Wait till we get killed or go crazy?’ Keana said glancing at Astra who didn’t seem to notice.

‘How can we even get out of these cages, those Vereor are huge we’d be killed.’ Caelum said shaking his head and sitting down.

‘We use my plan for that.’ Aryan said turning to look at Astra who smiled.

‘If we play scared and wait for them to come to us all we need to do is wait for them to come inside the cage then attack them…play the scared foolish wolves.’ Aryan said confidently.

‘If you haven’t noticed we are all scared!’ Caelum said turning around to look at all the wolves who were huddled in to the dark but were listening intently to what they were saying. Following Caelum’s glance Aryan looked at all the wolves before stepping forward and looking at them as the sound of gunshots still echoed in the background.

‘I need you all to listen to me!’ Aryan said in a loud voice as the wolves in the shadows all looked at him but didn’t say anything. ‘I know you all must be scared because I’m not going to lie so I’m going to tell you that I’m also scared. I came here looking for my family and found they all except for one had been killed. The Vereor I’m sure have hurt all of you and they have hurt me but unless we do something we’ll be killed. If we stay here we’ll turn into them but if you help me then maybe we can make a difference instead of dying in vain…’

‘So you’re saying if we help you we’re just going to die anyway?’ One voice yelled out his voice shaking as Astra stepped forward.

‘We could be the last wolves alive and what good are we all as Vereor? Now you have a choice either become one of them or fight for our freedom and die in dignity rather then dying as pathetic scared wolves’

‘Were not going to force you to help us but if you want to Sagci will tell you what’s going to happen.’ Aryan said turning to Sagci who stepped forward.

‘We have little time so listen carefully…’

Part 6
That night long after the gunshots had ceased and the plan had been told all the wolves fast asleep except for Aryan was lying beside the glass door looking at his reflection. What ever happened tomorrow he knew that the end result meant he was going to end up alone he wasn’t sure why but deep inside he knew that this was going to be his last night on Earth but the life he had missed he knew was going to be lived twice fold by the generations that would follow if they managed to stop Parvus and the Vereor.

His life had many happy moments, the first time he had looked into his mothers eyes, playing with his siblings, returning to his home and being free if only for a week of his life, finding his niece and giving hoping to others.

‘What are you thinking?’ Astra said in her soft voice as she walked over and laid down beside Aryan who looked at her with a smile.

‘All the happy moments in my life because that’s all I want to think about.’

‘After tomorrow we will hopefully have many more…’ Astra said as Aryan smiled a little at her despite his eyes looking at little hurt. ‘…I know you think I’m crazy.’ She suddenly said looking away from him.

‘I don’t!’ Aryan said in shock as she turned back around and looked at him.

‘Some people call me crazy simply because I dream of a better life, a life outside these walls.’ She looked up at the four walls all around her. ‘Some times wolves mistake craziness for dreams this is because they simply believe some dreams are crazy…but a wolfs dreams are never crazy…’

‘Tomorrow you will be free, free from The Vereor and free from man perhaps tomorrow we can achieve one dream.’ Aryan said smiling at her as she looked back at him returning one of her own.

‘Tell me one dream you wish for tomorrow.’ Astra said softly as Aryan sighed and smilied to himself.

‘To see the stars again…’  Aryan said as the two remained quiet as they looked at their reflection the mirror.

The quiet of the night was so peaceful and as Aryan slowly closed his eyes he could see the twinkling stars that he used to be able to see from his cage window when he was in the mans world. The billions of lights shining down on him, showing him to way, reminding him who he was and that whilst the stars in the sky shone for him he knew he would never truly be alone…not any more.

Opening his eyes he turned to Astra who was sleeping soundly beside him and as he looked down at her he knew that he had his own special star right beside him and that she’d be able to one day see the stars were he would guide her way in the dark. Putting his head down beside hers he slowly closed his eyes as he feel asleep into a dreamless dream.

Before long it was morning and he knew this because everyone morning the food dispenser in the roof would open and drop down food for all the wolves below waking them up as they made a dash for the food. Waking up Aryan looked over to see that Astra had licked his muzzle to wake him up and for a moment they looked at each other before he heard Caelum call out his name.

‘We can’t do this unless we have support from everyone.’ Caelum said sounding worried as he looked at Aryan who watched all the wolves eating as much as they could of the food that had been dropped down to them.

‘We’ll have to see then won’t we?’ Aryan said looking at Caelum who nodded just as two Vereor guards appeared and started to walk towards the door. Instantly the wolves dropped the food that was in there mouths and ran to the back of the cage, Aryan and the others did exactly the same so if the Vereor wanted them they would have to come in a get them.

‘Parvus wants Aryan now.’ One of the Vereor said as it opened the door and stood there looking at Aryan who cowered with the others and didn’t move. Growling The Vereor walked in whilst the other stood at the door. ‘Come with me or I will kill someone.’ The Vereor said calmly as Aryan took a deep breath and walked forward but before he was halfway to the door he stopped and sat down.

‘No I won’t leave.’ He said sternly but he could still feel his whole body shaking, was everyone behind him or was he just fooling himself and making a huge mistake? The Vereor tried to push he forward he sat sternly shaking his head, ‘NO!’ he yelled as the other Vereor at the door growled and walked in to the cage towards Astra who stepped forward protecting those behind her.

‘I will kill this one if you don’t move.’ The Vereor said opening its huge jaws near Astra who stood quite still with a stern face and just looked at Aryan.

‘I won’t come quietly though...’ Aryan said in a loud voice as he looked behind him and for a moment nothing happened as his heart beat stopped hoping that the wolves would see sense. Stepping forward Caelum started howling as loud as he could as the Vereor near Astra hissed and ran over knocking Caelum to the ground as everyone gasped. Getting back up from the ground he continued, ‘Silence.’ The Vereor roared walking towards him as Keana and Sagci also started to howl as all the wolves around them looked at each other. In almost a split second all the wolves in the cage started to howl together as loud as they could and as it echoed around the solid walls it was so loud that even Aryan felt like his ears were going to burst. ‘SILENCE.’ The Vereor wolves yelled putting their heads down trying to get away from the noise. Seeing his chance Aryan spun around grabbing the Vereor wolf and with a sudden burst of hatred and with the Vereor blood inside him he grabbed the Vereor’s back and latched down throwing it across the room were it collapsed in to a heap. Turning to the other one a few male wolves leapt on it biting and snarling as the howling slowly stopped as everyone looked in disbelief at each at the two Vereor guard that laid before them, one of them dead and the other knocked out.

‘I don’t believe it…’ One of the wolves said in disbelief as he looked up at Aryan with a smile, ‘You must have the power of five wolves!” He said yelling happily as Aryan gave a worried look to Astra and just shook it off.

‘Come on we need to get outside!’ Aryan barked loudly as he walked out of the cage and into the hallway where all the other wolves stopped for a moment breathing in the fresh and looking at each other. ‘What do we do now Sagci?’ Aryan said turning to him as he watched the elder step back and put his head down.

‘What ever you say Alpha.’ He said looking up at him with his eyes as Aryan stood back in shock as all the wolves looked up at him and bowed their head down including Astra who smiled up at him. Aryan couldn’t believe it, he was not leader material he didn’t know what to do, where to go, he wasn’t a leader he just helped them it was all Sagci and the others that gave him hope where he was simply go to run and hide like a coward. He couldn’t be responsible for so many wolves but they all seemed to look up to him and what else could he do, turn them down and be a coward? Or at least try and help them and help himself out of this place.

‘What to we do now?’ Caelum said looking at Aryan who thought for a moment.

‘There are wolves around here I can hear them…’ Aryan said using his acute hearing from the Vereor blood as he looked down the hallway to see other doors with the Vereor machines on the doors.

‘How do we get in with those eye machine things?’ A wolf asked looking at the one on the door that they had just gotten out of.

Turning to look at it Aryan quickly spun around and kicked it with both his back legs breaking the top metal piece of revealing wires sticking out that were glowing. Quickly jumping forward Aryan ripped them out with his teeth as he turned to the others. ‘Quickly get them the Vereor will be here soon and we need to get outside!’ Aryan said as the wolves ran down the hallway doing as he showed them.

Suddenly Aryan heard a growl as he looked down to see a group of Vereor looking down at them with shocked faces as they growled and charged towards them. ‘Get ready.’ Aryan said in a low voice as he turned to face them head on.

Part 7
The strongest wolves behind Aryan all stood their ground as those behind started to howl loudly as more wolves were released from nearby cages and sprung out wanting to get out of their cages as soon as they could and into the fight for freedom.

The Vereor wolves leapt at Aryan and those at front as Aryan felt himself being flung to the ground as the Vereor snapped it’s teeth in Aryans face as he tried to hold it back with his front paws. Using his back legs he started to scratch the side of the Vereor wolf who was starting to look dizzy from the constant loud echo of howling all around them, Sagci had been right their acute hearing now only made it ten times worse for them. The Vereor was still to strong and as Aryan tried to push it off he felt it’s large paw come down and smack the side of the his face as he yelled painfully just as another male wolf leapt of the back of the Vereor causing it to rear up and off of Aryan as more wolves started to attack it.

Shaking his head Aryan stood up and looked to the side of his face and looked at the deep gash but ignored the pain and blood as he looked up to see all the wolves working together to defeat the Vereor that were around them. The smaller wolves stood in the center howling loudly as the stronger wolves stopped the Vereor by vicious attacks from getting closer to the ones in the middle and because of their loud hearing it was easy to disorient the Vereor who were being overpowered by the sheer wolf power of the wolves that had been let out of their cages.

It wasn’t long before the five or so Vereor were overpowered by the wolves who cheered loudly as they turned to Aryan who couldn’t help but also notice the few wolves who had been killed in the struggle. Feeling sick he looked away from them as Sagci walked up beside Aryan as he looked down at him. ‘I’m sorry I...I...’ Aryan said looking at him as Sagci shook his head.

‘No they gave their lives for freedom, we must continue Alpha if we want any chance.’ Sagci said seriously as Aryan looked up to see the others looking at him all with hopeful looks knowing that they had gotten so far and now they had to finish the job.

‘We must get outside any one know where we can get out?’ Aryan asked looking at the group of about thirty of more wolves who all looked at each other most of them had never been out of the cages. Closing his eyes Aryan held his head up high and smelt the air trying to smell the fresh air, he thought about his hatred which seemed to trigger the onset of the Vereor blood to his senses and as it seemed to bubble up inside of him it made his smell senses to be advanced like a Vereor wolf for a split second but that was all he needed. ‘This way!’ He yelled as he started to run down the hallway followed by the other wolves who were a buzz with a excitement and fear at the same time.

As they ran Aryan felt like they were being watched because he thought that they should have been more Vereor around but they seemed to have all disappeared it was as though they were letting them get through with not much trouble. Slowing down to a stop Aryan looked around as Astra walked up to him. ‘What’s wrong?’ She asked looking around.

‘It’s to easy…’ Aryan said slowly as he turned around to look all the wolves who all watched him. ‘Caelum…Astra I need you to lead these wolves out of here and if you are attacked don’t stop and fight we need to get the Vereor outside I know man is out there…’ All the wolves suddenly erupted in whispers.

‘What are you going to do?’ Astra asked looking up at Aryan.

‘Parvus is no fool he won’t go outside unless I make him and as long as he is alive neither us nor man will win…’

‘Wait who cares about man!’ One of the wolves yelled angrily as everyone nodded in agreement.

‘The entire forests water supply is polluted they only way it can be fixed is by the men, I don’t know but maybe if we help them by destroying the Vereor they will help us and fix the problem because we all want to be free and that’s the only way we can ever return to the forest In peace. Now I want you to lead as many Vereor outside in the light which I’m pretty sure is straight down this long narrow way and the humans and yourselves will take care of them once I get Parvus then it will end.’ All the wolves cheered loudly at the thought of being returned to the forest and Aryan was glad that the small price they had to pay was helping the humans because he knew that both man and wolf wanted to the same thing and would indeed fight side by side to get it, as he had heard in the mans world, a dog was a mans best friend so why shouldn’t wolves be that also?

Aryan watched as Caelum lead the wolves away but for a moment Astra stayed and walked up beside Aryan who looked down at her. ‘You better go.’ He said softly as she shook her head.

‘Come with us the men can deal with Parvus.’ She said sternly.

‘I need to get him to him first and you the men…’ Aryan said as Astra nuzzled him gently surprising him.

‘Promise me you’ll come back.’ She whispered up at him as he looked down at her with his hazel eyes. Aryan nuzzled her softly before turning around and running down the hall as she watched after him before turning around to follow the others tears quietly falling down her face.

As Aryan walked down the hallway all he could hear was the deathly silence but he still felt as though a thousand eyes were watching him from every single corner of the room. Hearing a sound Aryan spun around but didn’t get to do anything as Parvus bit down hard on the back of Aryan’s neck causing him to yell painfully as he fell to the ground.

Part 8
Parvus laughed like a maniac as he licked the blood off his lips as Aryan slowly stood up and turned around to look at him. ‘Now I have the cure in me and I can never be stopped by man!’ he laughed loudly.

‘I have the cure for the Vereor disease not the other way around.’ Aryan said his voice shaking as he looked up at Parvus who shook his head. ‘No I found the chemical room I mixed everything together and drank it now with your blood I am immune.’ He said with a crazed face as Aryan stepped back away from him.

‘How could you possibly know about chemical and even if you got the right one not even you are that smart?’ Aryan said hoping that he was wrong and that the cure in his blood would still kill him.

‘Oh before I became the Vereor leader I worked here…’ Parvus smiled, ‘…I was the scientist dog they used for the company but one night I drank what they gave me and turned on them those fools but I was smart enough and I know how to protect myself and always new where the special formula was all I need was they’re pathetic cure for me.’

‘We can help you change back in to what you once were…’ Aryan said looking at Parvus knowing that inside was nothing more then a dog trapped by the evil mind of the Vereor.

‘Why would I ever want to change back to a pathetic weak dog like your self when I’m the most powerful creature in this entire world?’ Parvus laughed sarcastically.

Turning to look at the computer screens behind him Aryan watched as the wolves were running down the hallway away from a pack of Vereor who were chasing them. Looking closely Aryan could see a door to outside in the distance on the screen but composed him self and pretended to look shocked. ‘You’ll never catch them.’ Aryan said shaking his head and stepping back from the screen.

‘We are so fast that it is simply a game of cat and mouse they will gone soon just like you!’ Parvus snarled with his large teeth as he walked closer to Aryan who backed up further away from him.

‘You need me for my blood don’t you?’ Aryan said trying to bide time for the wolves to make it the door without Parvus realizing and calling the Vereor to stop.

‘It’s in me now…’ Parvus suddenly stopped and perked his ears up as the sound of gunshots echoed throughout the entire area causing both of them look at the screens. ‘NO!” Parvus screamed running to the screen where he could see the normal wolves running past the men into the forest unhurt whilst the Vereor who had been tricked in to the sunlight were blinded as they stumbled and were easily killed by the man who seemed to be everywhere. Turning to look back at Aryan he smiled at Parvus who jumped down from the screen and walked over to him. ’How could you trick me we are much stronger and better then you in every single way!’

Feeling himself tense up Aryan smiled as he looked up barring his teeth as he felt himself change, his paws grow larger, his body becoming stronger, his senses becoming stronger but his eyes remained their normal color. ‘We are always smarter then you!’

‘We’ll always be stronger then you!’ Parvus yelled the fur on his back standing on end.

‘Prove it!’ Aryan snarled leaping forward the Vereor blood in him hiding his fear and pushing him forward towards Parvus who remained at his ground accepting the challenge, he also had to bide his time...

Both Vereor wolves fought madly against each other, using their superior senses and strengths but Parvus had the distinct advantage he had been a Vereor for years and new how to fight, how to use his extra power where as Aryan could only use what strength he had since no one had ever shown him how to fight it was up to his Vereor blood to help him now.

Parvus wasn’t even tired when he leapt on a tired Aryan who just managed to throw him off his back as the two looked at each other from only meters apart. ‘I told you nothing can defeat a Vereor we are more powerful then any creature on this world.’

‘You may be stronger but you’ll outwit anything.’ Aryan said chucking to himself as he heard footsteps approaching from the outside hallway. Parvus made a dash as Aryan who quickly side stepped him and began to run towards the door at the end of the room just as another door burst open with huge dogs and humans standing at the door with weapons drawn. Spinning around Parvus latched on Aryan’s leg pulling him back down as Aryan winced painfully.

‘If I’m going I’m not letting the Vereor name live in a half-bred like you!’ He snarled as Aryan looked back at him and it was then that Aryan first noticed that Parvus seemed to have fear in his eyes.

‘It’s not going to.’ Aryan kicked Parvus hard in the face making him let go as Aryan leapt through the door away from the man and dogs.

Once he was through the door he ran down the hallway as he slowly but surely changed back to himself as he came to a stop sitting down on the ground trying to catch his breath as blood ran down the side of his face and on to the ground.

‘Aryan!’ Astra yelled as she ran down the hallway towards Aryan who looked up at her his tail wagging slowly behind his back. As soon as she got to him she nuzzled him and held back the tears. ‘Come on we need to get out of here…’ She said licking the wounds on his face.

‘What happened to the Vereor?’ Aryan said looking at her.

‘Most are defeated but we are rounding up the stranglers with the human dogs whilst the humans and taking them away, they’re all gone.’ She said happily smiling down at him.

‘Not all…’ Aryan said slowly standing up and looking down at Astra who looked confused. ‘I’m the last one and I can’t risk hurting anyone.’ Aryan laughed, ‘I used to be alone in the forest and now I’m alone again I’m the last Vereor…I think I’m meant to be alone.’ Aryan said lowering his head feeling sick as he turned around and started to walk back towards the door.

‘No.’ Astra said running forward in front of him shaking her head. ‘Don’t. Come with us please.’ She begged looking up at him as Aryan looked away from her and kept walking but she didn’t stop and ran in front of him again. ‘I…love you.’ Astra said as tears slid down her face as Aryan looked down at her with a smile.

‘Shine brightly my beautiful star…’ Aryan said nuzzling her as he walked past her into the room he had come out of. Astra sat down on the ground and started to cry as Keana and Caelum looked down from the end of the hallway and hung their heads low.

The man so grateful and sorry for what they had done to the forest, the wild-life and the wolves that they tore down the horrible facility where the Vereor kind had been born. His solitary when he had been a pup and young adult was to make sure he would seek out his own kind when the time came…but wolves never go into that depth they told their own stories whist the men had their own.
