SASHA'S GIFT

“If another dog leaps at you roll on your back, then you can attack him with your claws. Sasha’s eyes followed chocolate as he taught her how to fight. As Chocolate leapt at her Sasha rolled on her back as instructed and used her paws and claws to thrust him away from her and on to the dusty ground. Sasha got up and walked over to Chocolate who got up and shook himself “well done Sasha” growled Chocolate “that’s enough for today”. They had been training since dawn and now the first heat of midday struck their backs. Chocolate went to see his sister while Sasha bounded up to the gate were her friend Ice was waiting. “Hi ice growled Sasha excitedly how are you this morning?” ”I’m good ice growled, you? “Good” replied Sasha. ”I saw your fighting moves they are pretty good you’re developing fast”... “Thankyou growled Sasha but I am only a beginner”. “So it doesn’t matter your still good.” Growled ice. Sasha nodded her head “thankyou” she growled happily wagging her tail “Then it lowered a little is anything wrong”? “No I was just wondering if you wanted to come with mud and I to the forest and try out some hunting skills” she growled. Sure growled Sasha jumping over the fence lets go.

Sasha splashed through the water at their meeting place and then dropped into a crouch to practice some hunting. She heard a scuffling among the weeds at the waters edge and crept towards it she soon spotted a plump water vole drinking from the river. She stopped and watched the creature for a while then when she was sure she was downwind she pounced but the vole heard her jump and scuttled away into the weeds. “Darn” She snarled angrily miss...”She gasped as she saw that the water in front of her began to change. Instead of ripples the river was moving in a swirl and as Sasha looked on the water steadily grew blacker a picture began to appear. Suddenly she was looking at ice she was sitting by herself over a dead body Sasha realized that the body was mud’s scarred and bruised from and unknown source “No” Sasha gasped “mud what happened”. Suddenly as she watched a dark shape rose up behind ice and Sasha caught a glimpse of glistening teeth, “Ice” she growled “Look out” but it was to late the dark stranger jumped on ice and began to attack her. Sasha watched in horror as ice fought bravely to defend herself, but the stranger was too quick for her. The stranger bit into ice’s neck and tore it open with one swift movement of it’s long teeth and ice’s body began to convulse, “No” cried Sasha “Ice” the blood flowed freely from her neck and as Sasha watched the twitching stooped Ice was dead. The stranger turned on Sasha and looked directly at her, Sasha snarled angrily and swiped at the picture with her paw. The picture dissolved and soon all that was left was Sasha’s reflection   “what does this mean growled Sasha?  ”What does what mean” Sasha jumped as a voice sounded behind her it was ice “Sasha are you alright she asked”? Sasha blinked at her “I…I… I don’t know” growled Sasha suddenly she turned and sprang away terrified at the prospect of being any were near Ice. “Sasha” Ice cried “come back!” but Sasha ignored her and ran back to her house. Chocolate was lying in the sun when Sasha came up “Sasha what’s wrong” growled Chocolate .Sasha stopped “Chocolate I think there’s something wrong with me” Sasha growled “I had a hallucination when I looked into the water at the river and I saw something bad happen to ice she was killed by another dog and so was Mud and then the dog turned on me and then….” Sasha calm down growled Chocolate soothingly now tells me again and this time explains exactly what happened. Sasha took a deep breath “I went to the river today with Ice and Mud and I was hunting a vole near the water, but I missed it and stood at the water angrily”. Sasha shivered as she remembered the memory “Go on “growled Chocolate, Sasha swallowed hard and started again “I was looking into the water when a picture appeared” Chocolate looked nervous and Sasha stopped “no go on” growled chocolate  “and I saw Ice in the picture she was leaning over the dead body of Mud he was scratched and bruised, It looked like he had been attacked by another dog” Sasha saw Chocolate stiffen “go on” he growled “and then I saw a shadow rise up out of the darkness and I saw the sharp teeth of another dog and then she leaped onto Ice and attacked her, Ice fought bravely to save herself but she failed the stranger bit into her neck and she fell to the ground dead, the blood flowing freely from her neck, and then as I watched the strange dog turned on me, but before anything else happened I slashed at the water with my paw and the picture disappeared “chocolate what’s wrong with me?” growled Sasha. “You have the sight” Came a new voice Sasha spun around. Walking up the dirt track was a Dalmatian his long fur dangled from his belly and his green eyes glowed. Sasha heard a low growl from chocolate and turned to see him glaring at the new comer. “The sight” gasped Sasha but I thought that it was just a legend. Sasha turned to the new comer “who are you” Sasha asked. “His name is checkers” Snarled Chocolate before the new comer could answer and he and he should be on his way, Chocolate took a threatening step toward checkers .Checkers snarled and began to stalk towards Chocolate in an obvious challenge drawing his lips back in a snarl.  “Wait!” growled Sasha stepping between them “don’t fight”. Checkers instantly stepped back and relaxed his muscles “and anyway Chocolate” snarled Sasha “why would you attack checkers he did nothing to provoke you”. “Silence!” snarled Chocolate “How dare you question my actions like that go away!” But Sasha raised her hackles and unsheathed her claws “no!” she snarled “not until you have explained why you wanted to rip Checkers limb from limb”. Chocolate gave a terrible snarl and leaped at Sasha. Sasha was completely unprepared for his attack and was knocked sideways. Sasha felt Chocolates teeth sink into her neck, Furious Sasha shook herself violently, throwing chocolate off her she then quickly leapt away and glared at chocolate. Chocolate staggered to his feet and leapt again, this time Sasha was ready and leapt up to meat him the two crashed together snarling terribly Sasha was fighting furiously but Chocolates bigger weight was forcing her down. Sasha aimed a blow at Chocolates face dislodging him and then scrambled to her paws snarling. Suddenly before Chocolate could leap again Checkers stepped between them “that’s enough” he snarled. Sasha stepped back dipping her head in respect “I’m sorry” she growled guiltily. “No it’s not your fault he growled turning to Chocolate “how could you attack her like that she did nothing to you?” She questioned my actions…” . “She’s meant to she’s a puppy” spat Checkers “that is how she learns good intentions from bad by listening to and questioning her teacher’s actions”. Chocolate gave a loud snarl “so that doesn’t mean she can do it to me”. “What makes you so special” snarled Checkers “are you the king or a leader of a pack NO!, you don’t need and definitely don’t deserve better treatment than the rest of us”. Chocolate snarled and flatten his ears about to strike when Sasha stepped between them “STOP IT” she snarled .Then she turned to chocolate “I hate you chocolate” she snarled, the insult was aimed well and Chocolate flinched “Sasha” he growled. But Sasha turned her back on him and ran away towards the woods yowling angrily.

Sasha was sitting on a grassy hill, the sun setting creating an array of yellows purples and pinks. Suddenly Sasha heard a voice behind her and spun around It was Checkers. Sasha opened her mouth to object but checkers spoke first “I am only here to talk” “I don’t want to talk” Sasha growled Turning away again. Checkers walked up to Sasha and sat down “Sasha” He growled “I only want to talk about the sight to teach you how to use it so you can f…” he hesitated “so you can understand it’s ways. Sasha hesitated then growled “what do you want checkers. “I want to tell you about the sight to teach you how to use it and to tell you about the evil side of the sight”. Sasha pricked her ears “the evil side of the sight” she growled. “yes there is an evil side to the sight” replied checkers but first I must start with the history of the sight.

“It started a long time ago” began checkers “when the ancient wolves still lived by the old ways. A wolf named cohort was born north of the sigon mountain ranges,  He learned at a young age that he had the sight and took on a raven helper named scrark  and visited the fortune teller chocolate. But soon after his mother was killed by an enemy wolf Cohort began to chant the evil ways and his heart grew dark with hatred of all wolves. He murdered all of his pack and then set of to find the Sigon mountain ranges to forfill a promise he would make to the bears, that they would share his power and rule the world with him. Cohort failed to rule the world and was killed by Clawstars farther for failing him. “Who’s Clawstar” asked Sasha. Checkers smiled “Clawstar was the leader of the bear clan, he started out life as a sweet bear named Clawpaw but after his mother was killed by a group of neighbouring wolves he swore to kill all wolves and led a small group of his friends to the wolfs camp and killed them. When his clan heard of this they banished him and his friend were Clawpelt swore revenge on his traitorous clan. He and his New clan murdered and massacred his old clan he then found bloodstar and made a bloodpack with her

Two enemies shall join together and forfill the ancient pact

Sasha looked up at checkers in amazement “a pact?” she growled. Checkers nodded gravely “yes” he growled “a pact of blood”. “blood” Sasha gasped “but I had a vision of blood, a vision of death” Checkers muttered something under his breath then looked up at Sasha “tell me of this vision” he ordered. Sasha shivered “ as I told chocolate” she began “I was at the river with my friends Ice and Mud chasing a vole near the river, the vole heard me and I landed beside the river, as I looked into the water I saw the water start to swirl in front of me, a picture began to form until I saw Ice standing over the dead body of Mud” Sasha shivered and swallowed nervously “he…he looked as if he had been attacked by another dog but I could see no other dog except Ice, as I watched a shadow appeared, a flash of gleaming teeth,”. “The shadow jumped on ice and ripped oped her throat, Ice tried desperately to free herself but…” Sasha stopped and closed her eyes “after that the shadow turned on me, I saw the glow of red eyes and felt an evil presents, the shadow leapt at me, but I swiped at the river with my paw and it dissolved” Sasha finished, looking at checkers, Checkers looked horrified as if he had realized something “is something wrong Checkers?.” Sasha asked. Checkers blinked and shook his head as if to clear it “yes” he growled a little uneasily, But Sasha could see that he was lying,” fine Sasha snarled keep things from me”, checkers lowed his ears Sasha….” he began, “no” snapped Sasha Leave me alone”, Sasha spun around and ran into the forest.
