My life has led on for a while. I was alone for most of the time, until the day I met a small group of wandering wolves and dogs who had left their packs. They offered for me to join them once I showed them I wasn't an enemy. Almost instantly, I took a liking to a silvery-gray and white female named Esmerelda. For me, it was love at first site. I was content for a while, until I took up the nerve to tell her how I felt. Me, Emma and her friend Kieth were all sitting together, doing something, when Kieth suddenly blurted out that Emma liked me. Me! Before I could say anything, she ran off into the forest, clearly surprised and embaressed. I followed her, and soon told her how I felt. She was happy, but I was almost shaking with happiness. He became forever mates the next day. I thought I couldn't be happier, when more wolves started coming to us. More and more came, until he had more then a regular sized pack. But of course, we needed a leader, and the group chose Emma and I. After a long discussion, we named ourselves the Runaway Wanderers, because each of us had some backstory that made us upset, or flee from our homes. We became a journeying pack, changing homes from time to time. After a year or so, Kieth and his mate Sanya had a litter of pups. I loved them, and played with them whenever I could. I didn't want to admit it, but I always loved being around Cheyenne and Keena the most. As time progressed, we got stronger and fiercer, and made many friends and enemies on our journies. More had joined, and we kept getting larger. One day, my long lost brother Marrow joined us, and became mates with Emma's cousin Siberia. Although we had a lot of trouble from a certain male outside the group that kept trying to hook up Emma. I was furious, so furious that sometimes I swear I could see steam coming out of my nose. I tried my hardest to keep him off my beloved mate, who I could tell was ticked off too. I don't even remember his name, but that's probably because I don't care what it is. Soon though, I drove the stalker off, and I was happy again. I thought my life was complete, and that there would be no more changes. Apparently, I was wrong. Dead wrong.
Emma and I had become inseperable. We did almost everything together. But then, that day came. I had just returned from a hunting patrol with Marrow, Kieth and Sanya, when I realized Emma wasn't there. I didn't think of it much at first, I simply thought she was on border patrol or something. But as night came, she still hadn't returned. I went into a panic, and ran out of the camp. I was terrified for her, and all of the worst possibilites came to my mind. I couldn't find her. Tears poured out of my eyes, and I went home, tired and defeated. Weeks went by, and Siberia left RW territory to look for her. I had just returned from a search, and Siberia insisted on going. On her way back, the truth was revealed to us. Siberia found Emma dead by a river. She hadn't drowned, and her death cause was unknown to us. I took her body back to the camp, and buried my face in her fur, asking myself why she had to die. I hadn't done wrong in my life, and this one incident caused me to go into a deep, sad depression. After a day or mourning, I went to bed. I fell asleep quicker then I ever had, except this time, I didn't wake up.
My eyes opened, seeing a place of clouds and stars. I was so confused, before looking at my paws. They were transparent. I knew I was dead, and the first thought that came to my mind was Esmerelda. Walking through the clouds, I caught a glimpse of her familiar pelt, and ran towards her. I licked her cheek, and told her I loved her. We now walk together amongst the stars for all eternity.
I still watch the Runaway Wanderers with Emma, protecting them from danger. Siberia and Marrow are the new leaders, and we couldn't be prouder of them. A little while after, more RW females had gotten pregnant. Siberia, Morgan and Ambrosia were all expecting litters of their own. I couldn't be happier and prouder of my pack.
