Alaksa. The 49th state in the U.S. A land filled with a vast, cold, rough, dangerous, and beautiful tundra. Home to animals such as moose, polar bears, elk, deer and hundreds more. But the most feard creature of the wild is what is known as the wolf. There are hundrendes of wolf packs in the Alaksan tundra. Wolves have been known to travel in theses packs and humans are very likely to be scared of them. But there is a untold story about a mysteryious lone wolf that entered the area of the small town of Nome.
This is that story
Nome, Alaska 1928
Balto happily walked on to the porach of Jenna's house. He knew that he is always welcome to visit both Jenna and Rosy. He walks through the dog door and slips into the living room. There he sees Jenna sleeping by the fire place. The warm, roaring fire brights up her red fur and make it look like she's on fire herslelf. For a moment this amkes Balto freeze. He has seen Jenna look beautiful under both light and darkness and says how wonderful she looks. But to him this was the most beautful way he has even seen Jenna. He walks over to her and sides by her side. He then lowers his head to the floor and drifts off to sleep with Jenna right at his side.
Who knows how long he was sleeping. But the moment Balto opens his eyes, he looks right over to Jenna and sees her looking at him, smiling and with her eyes half closed.
Balto: Hey.
Jenna: Hey.
She says in a calm, relaxed tone.
Jenna: How long have you been here.
Balto: I don't know.
Jenna: As long as I you were right next to me, I dont care.
Balto's spirit was moved hearing this. Moments later, they both lift up there boides and start to strech out.
Balto: Would you like to go for a walk? Or would Rosy and her parents get worried if you were gone.
Jenna: Nah. If I'm gone that usalley means that I'm with you, our pups, or out on a walk by myself.
Balto: All right. Lets go.
They both walk out the front door and start to head into Nome. After waling for a bit and seeing everyone in town enjoying themselves, Balto notices something odd, when they turn down one street. He and Jenna both see a huge crowd of people gatherd outside the town hall.
Jenna: Wow.
Balto: Lot of people.
Jenna: I wonder what's going on.
Balto: Lets find out.
They walk up to the crowd of people and see Mayor Clark come out of the buliding, just as Balto and Jenna get there. Clark puts his hands in the air and that tells the people to quiet down.
Clark: Now I want one of you to calmley tell what all this camotion is about. And I'll see what I can do about it.
Man: I'll speak for all of us mayor.
Clark: Very well then, Mr. Burrows.
Burrows: Me and a few others were out hiking this moring and we all saw a wolf.
Clark: A wolf?
Burrows: Yes.
Clark: You think a wolf pack is in the area?
Burrows: Not quite, sir. Wolves never tavel alone. This one was alone.
Clark: So you saw a wolf without a pack?
Burrows: Yes. And if a wolf does not belong to a pack, that means it's dangerous.
Clark: I see.
Man in the crowd: What do we do?
Clark: Ok. This is what we'll do. This wolf has not done anything to harm us. Until the time it does something dangerous to us, I say that no once does any harm to it, if they see it. Fair enough.
There is small mumbing in the crowd. They all nod there heads up and down.
Clark: Very well.
Mayor Clark turns and goes back inside and the crowd starts to disapte. Balto and Jenna, having hereing all this, walk back in the direction of Rosy's house.
Balto: That was intresting.
Jenna: Do you think this wolf they saw is evil?
Balto: I'm not sure. But...just be on the safe side can you do me a favor?
Jenna: Anything for you my love.
Balto: Stay indoors at night and stay in town until all this is over.
Jenna: I will Balto.
Balto: Good.
They stop walking when they reach the bottom of the steps to Rosy's house. The sky has become dark, the sky shows off a beautiful dispaly of stars and a very bright moon.
Balto: I'll see you tommorow?
Jenna: Of course.
Before parting ways, Balto and Jenna share a passionite nuzzle. They look deep into each others eyes and go there seperet ways. Balto slowly walks along the beach. He stops in front of his boat and looks at the shore. In that moment, thoughts of him playing with his pups when they were young go through his head. After those thoughts are over, more come and this time they are of him teaching Kodi how to run. But then in a instant, a noise turns his thoughs over to his boat. He looks up and thinks it's Boris. But then he remember that He and Stella went south for the winter. Balto gets into a type of defensive pose and walks over the the plank that leads on to the deck. He does not make a sound climbing up the plank. Once he gets on the deck he looks around and sees nothing. But then another noise startels him. He darts up to the bow of th boat and sees a jet black figure looking away from him. Balto takes one step to the figure and a wooden plank make a noise. He looks at the floor and then looks back at the figure stairing right ate Balto with it's dark green eyes. Balto leaps for who ever is in front of him but the figure reacts quikley and jumps out of the Balto's way. Balto almost fall of the boat when he lands. But he land just fine and spins around and sees the figure looking right at him. Both he and Balto start to circle each other.
Balto: Your that wolf that the people in town have been talking about. Are you?
Wolf: I'd guess so.
Balto: Are you a dangerous as they suspect you are?
Wolf: Dangerous?
He steps out into the moon light. The wolf has jet black fur and appears to be about the same age as Balto.
Wolf: Why would they think I'm dnagerous?
Balto: Well they say that your a lone wolf. Is that true.
Wolf: Yeah its true but that doesnt mean I'm evil,
Balto, hearing this relaxes his body. Balto can tell by the tone of this guy's vocie and the way he is standing he is not lying or trying to trick him.
Balto: Who are you?
Wolf: You can call me Romeo.
Balto: Romeo?
Romeo: Yeah. Weird name right?
Balto: Very.
This causes a bit of a laugh.
Balto: So what are you doing on my boat?
Romeo: Your boat? I didn't think wolves can own a boat.
Balto: I'm not a wolf. I'm a half breed. My name is Balto.
Romeo: The Balto that saved those children?
Balto: The very same.
Romeo: Then let me say it's an honor to meet you. I've always dreamed of this day but I though that it was just a dream.
Balto: You'd be suprised on how much dreams can tell you. But you still havent told me what you are doing here.
Romeo: I was just looking for some place to stay. If you want me to leave, I will.
Balto: No. You can stay. But can to tell what you are doing in Nome?
Romeo: OF course.
They both sit down.
Romeo: Ok. All I can remeber was waking up in the middle of a snowey clearing when I was very young. As much as I know I should have, I never tried to join a wolf pack. Something inside me told me that I was better off on my own. And in as time passes I could never figure out a name to call myslef. Until one night when i was starving to death. I passed out and rolled down a hill. the next thing I knew when I woke up is that I was under a nice warm blanket and two humans were looking at me. The looked releaived that I was ok. They gave me some food and I stayed with them that night. One of those humans had a book called Romeo and Juliet by William....
He drifts of for a second and tries to remeber the last name.
Romeo: I think it was William Shave-your-beard.
Balto rolls over laughing and Romoe joins in too.
Romeo: But anyway when I went back to sleep and woke up later, I saw that the humans were gone. I wish I could have thanked them. From that moment on I've always loved humans. But's kind of hard for the other way around to be possible if your a wolf.
Balto: I know what you mean.
Romeo: You do?
Balto: Yeah.
Like a movie, Balto plays the memories of his days before saving the town. Being kicked around, made fun of, people wishing he was dead. The thoughs go away and he sees how tired Romeo looks.
Balto: Look you can stay here.
Romeo: I can?
Balto: Yes. I want to help you.
Romeo: Why?
Balto: Beacuse I dont want to see another animal be in the same spot I was. And as a matter of fact I think I know just the person that can help you.
Romeo: Really, who?
Balto: Get some rest. l'll go to my mate's house tonight. If I come back with red and white girl thats Jenna and shes with me.
Romeo: All right then. Good night.
Balto: Night.
Balto stands up and heads back into Nome. When he reachs the shed where Jenna sleeps, he takes a deep breath and rolls his shoulders back. He lifts his paw and lightly scratchs on the door. He takes some steps back when he hears some soft foot steps coming to the door.
Jenna (From the other side): Hello?
Balto: It's me Jenna.
The door opens and Jenna stands there with her eyes half closed.
Jenna: What is it?
Balto: You are not goanna beleive who was on the boat.
Jenna: What who?
Balto: The wolf that everyone else was talking about ealier.
Jenna eyes bolt open, in shock.
Jenna: What? Did he hurt you?
Balto: No it's not like that at all.
Jenna: Come in and sit down with me.
Balto goes in and sits down with Jenna by the warm boiler. He tells Jenna about everything that Romeo told Balto. Him being born alone, never wanting to join a wolf pack, those humans that saved him from stariving to death and how he named himslef (and that part on Williem Shave-your-beard.) Balto finishes by telling Jenna how much he wants to help Romeo and why.
Jenna: I agree with you Balto. I don't want to see this guy be treated the way you did.
Balto: That's when I got an idea. All we have to do is get a human to meet Romeo and see that he doesn't want to hurt anyone.
Jenna: Well who'd you have in mide.
Balto moves his eyes to the direction of the house. Jenna and Balto stair at each other for no less than ten seconds before Jenna knows who Balto is talking about.
Jenna: Are you kidding me?
Balto: No.
Jenna: She couldn't.
Balto: Who was the only human that ever liked me.
Jenna: Rosy.
Balto: She never judge me on my blood. She liked me for me. I have no doubt she'll like Romeo too.
Jenna: Balto....
Balto: I know you care for Rosy's saftey. But I know that there is no evil in Romeo's heart. I don't know how I could tell that. But I just I know it.
Jenna slowly raises her head up and looks out the window above her head. As much as she loves Balto and trusts what he is saying. But bringing Rosy into this is way to risky. But what if Balto's right and Romeo really does love humans. Inside, Jenna's mind is tossing and turning over what to say to Balto. Then it comes to her. Balto has never been wrong to her before. Other than...Aleu when Balto promised to bring her back. But that has nothing to do with this. Jenna turns back to Balto and takes a deep breath.
Jenna: Ok. We'll have let him meet Rosy. But if things start to look bad, were leaving.
Balto: Deal. Lets get some sleep.
They both drift off into a deep sleep.
The sun rises over the hills. It's bright rays peek through the shed;s window and shines on both Balto and Jenna's faces. They cridge a little bit before waking up.
Balto: Morning.
Jenna: Morning. Sleep well?
Balto: Kinda. I'm more used to sleeping on wooden boards than pillows.
Jenna: You miss your boat?
Balto: Yeah. But right now someone else needs it more than I do.
Jenna: Speaking of that, what's the plan for this Romeo to meet Rosy?
Balto: We'll let her wake up and then when she's ready, we can tell her to follow us to the boat.
Jenna: Sounds good. But remember what we talked about last night?
Balto: Yeah, I know. If things start to look bad, you and Rosy will leave.
Voice: Jenna!
Calls a young, high spirited voice from outside.
Balto: And speak of the devil.
Jenna barks and runs outside and runs around Rosy.
Rosy: Whoa, easy girl.
She looks in the shed and sees Balto looking at her.
Rosy: Balto! Did you spend the night?
Balto says yes with bark. He then turns over to Jenna and just look at each other. They don't say anything by they do know they should do it now. Balto pushes his head agaisnt Rosy a bit.
Rosy: What is it Balto?
He nods his heads in the genreal direction of the boat.
Rosy: You have something to show me?
He barks again and pulls the end of Rosy's jacket.
Rosy: Ok,ok, you lead the way.
Jenna joins Balto at his side with Rosy right behind them. Once they reach the boat....
Balto: Have Rosy wait here.
Jenna: Ok.
Balto walks up the plank and stands on the deck of the boat.
Balto: Romeo!?
Romeo walks out from the roofed part of the boat and goes up to Balto.
Romeo: Yes.
Balto: Remember when I said that I'd help you show the humans that your not dangerous?
Romeo: Yes. You told me that you have someone that could help me.
Balto: I did. And I brought her with me.
Romeo: Really. Is it a human? What's its name?
Balto: Her name is Rosy. She was the only human that ever accepted me for who I was before I saved the town.
Romeo: Will I'd love to meet her.
Balto: Good. But theres one thing. My mate, Jenna, is Rosy's dog. And she's a bit concernd for Rosy's saftey.
Romeo: Oh I get it. Well I wont get over exited. And like I told you last night, i would never ever harm a human.
Balto: Ok. I'll go get them.
Romeo: I'll wait.
Balto turns around and walks over to the edge of the boat. He looks down and sees Rosy's company. Seeing this reminds him of the first time he saw them. The thoughs of that pass through his head. He remebers slowly creeping out of the alley and sneaking through the crowd of humans. He looks down one way and sees the sled team coming his way. He looks down the other way and sees Rosy and Jenna at the finish line. He couldn't take his eyes off them. But then, he snaps back to the present and looks down to Rosy and Jenna on the beach. He takes a sigh. Here goes nothing. He thinks. He lets off and bark and gets the girls's attention. They look up and see Balto bark again. Jenna looks at Rosy and sees that she's a bit confused. Jenna goes behind Rosy and nudges he head against Rosy's leg.
Rosy: Oh, it's on the boat.
She climbs up the ramp and steps on the the deck. She looks at Balto.
Rosy: So what is it Bal...
At that second, she notices a jet black blurr in the corner of here eyes. She turns away from Balto and keeps her eyes glued on Romeo. Romeo is sitting up and keeping his eyes on Rosy.
Rosy: Wow.
Rosy whispers to herself. Jenna keeps her eyes on Romeo as well. She is supried on how Rosy is reacting to all this. After looking at Romeo for a minute, she gets down to Balto.
Rosy: Is this the wolf that everyone else has been talking about, Balto?
Balto gave her a light nod.
Rosy: He dosne't look so dangerous.
Balto leans his head over to Romeo and Rosy can tell what he's asking.
Rosy: Oh, I get it. He just like you Balto. Right?
Happy to know what Rosy understands him, Balto lightly licks the side of Rosy's cheek. He rubs the dog slobber off her and laughs.
Rosy: You want me to meet him so people will know he's not dangerous?
The look on Balto's doesnet change when she asks him that. She turns over to Romeo and sighs a little and rolles her shoulders a bit.
Rosy: Ok.
She says a bit nervous. She gets back on her feet and takes one small step towards Romeo. As she slowly walk to him, Romeo does not change his stance at all. Jenna walks right behind Rosy, just in case things go bad. Balto slowly walks along the edge of the boat. His head tells him that this is a mistake. But his heart knows that this is the only way for humans to see that Romeo is not evil. Rosy get close enough and slowly reachs her hand out. As she does, Romeo starts to lean forward. At last, at what seems like forever, Rosy's hand and the point of Romeo's muzzle make contact. Rosy's rubs her hand along the top of Romeo's muzzle. Reacting to all this, Romeo closes his eyes and cracks a small smile. Rosy sees the look in his deep light yellow eyes. In just that one look, somehow, Rosy can see everything in Romeo's mind. Even though it's just for a second.
Rosy:Balto was right. This wolf is not dangerous.
Rosy's neverous look now turns to a more setteled look. She fully walks up to the jet-black wolf and is petting him from the top of his head and all the way down his thick yet soft fur colord back. The feeling of Rosy's soft, gentle hand causes him to fall over on to his back and Rosy starts to rub his stomach. Jenna, who this whole time has been reluctent about this, starts to see that Balto was right. Balto goes over to her and licks the side of her face.
Jenna: Go ahead say it.
She says in a boasting tone.
Balto: What?
Jenna: I told you so.
Balto: Why should I?
Jenna: Cause this whole time I was being selfish. I was only thinking about how worried I was about Rosy getting hurt. But It's not my job to judge how she feels. It's her decision.
Balto: Yeah your right. I told you so, I told you so.
He says laughing. Jenna just keeps her eyes to Rosy enjoying Romeo. But as Balto is being a spaz, she takes her paw and hit him right on the nose making him fall over. He gets back up.
Balto: Ok. I deserved that.
Jenna: Never mind that. So what do we do know?
Balto: What'd you mean?
Jenna: Rosy is convinced that Romeo wont harm anyone. Do you think we can do it for the rest of the town?
Balto's face goes still. He slowly looks over and towards the town. Balto knows Jenna's got point. There's got to be some way.
Balto: I don't know. But in the mean time, let's just be happy we got Rosy to listen to us.
Before all four of them even know it, the bright morning soon goes away. Noon comes and the coulds have decided to leave and show of the beautiful blue sky. Rosy runs off the ramp, off the boat, laughing with Balto, Jenna and Romeo running all around her. She finally stops running and feels a small growl coming from in her stomach.
Rosy: I'm goanna go get some lunch. Don't worry, Balto, I won't tell anyone.
Rosy turns and head back into Nome. They all watch until she is out of sight.
Romeo: Balto...
Balto: Romeo?
Romeo: You have no idea how much this all means to me. Thank you.
Balto: Don't mention it.
Romeo: And Jenna, I know we may have gotton off on the wrong paw, but I hope after seeing that I really don't want to harm humans, we can be friends.
Jenna: Romeo, you were my freind when Rosy saw who you really were.
At that second, a deep rumble is herd.
Balto: Was that you?
Romeo: Yeah. I'm going for a caribou. You two want any?
Balto: No, I'm good.
Jenna: Uh, no.
Romeo: All right. I'll come back later.
Romeo turns and runs off. Balto and Jenna watch him run off; leaving a trail a big paws behind him. After Romeo drops out of sight, Balto turns to Jenna.
Balto: Wanna go for a walk?
Jenna: Yeah, sure!
They walk in the oppisete direction of where Romeo set off. They take the time to enjoy each other's company. They talk and talk about the normal stuff: There pups, how much they wish Aleu would come back to them one day, Jenna mentions Kodi pulled a funny prank on Dingo. Balto asks her what Kodi did and all Jenna awnserd was: "lets just say...Dingo's goanna be smelling like tree sap for a few days." After hearing that, Balto losses his footing and rolls on the sand laughing. They're walk ends up leading them on the outskirts of town. They stop on a small rise that looks over Nome.
Jenna: So what next?
Balto: What?
Jenna: We got Rosy to believe that Romeo's not a killer. How do you think we can get the rest of the town to believe us?
Balto lowers his eye balls. His mind his spinning. That's a good question. Balto keeps his eyes on the town and keeps thinking. After a few minutes he turns his head over to Jenna.
Balto: I still dont know. Maybe...
At that very second a loud sound echos through the cold air and makes Balto and Jenna jump up. It scares them so much, it sends a heavy and cold chill down both there spines. Jenna takes her paw and rubs on of her ears.
Jenna: What on earth was that!?
Balto: I think it was a gun shot.
They look at each other.
Jenna: No.
Balto: It can't be.
Jenna: Lets go.
They dash down the hill and run into town. Balto runs even faster than he has ever ran in his life. Jenna manages to keep up and stay a few yards behind Balto. When they enter town, they hear a lound commotion outside city hall. Balto pushes himself through the crowd of humans and can hear some people shouting.
Man: We found him.
Another Man: Problem solved.
Balto breaks through the crowd and sees something that makes his whole body drop to the ground. Before him, lies Romeo. His body is still and with a bullet hole through his chest. Tears start to run down his eyes and Jenna breaks through the crowd at the same time. She lets off a cold and scared gasp. The bottom half of her mouth is studdering. She drops to the ground and starts to cry. Balto, still under presser from seeing Romeo dead on the ground in front of him, lifts his head up and see Mayor Clark come out of the building. Clark looks on the ground and sees the dead wolf.
Clark: What is this?
The same man that spoke to Clark yesterday, Burrows, comes forward.
Burrows: This is the wolf we spoke of.
Clark: How did you find it?
Burrows: Well, me and my friends we're out looking for this wolf and by pure coendience, we stumbles upon it eating a caribou. It was a hell of a chase but we got it.
Clark: Well then Burrows I guess Nome owes you and your hunting party a thank yo.....
Voice: NO!!!!
A voice is shouted out from the crowd. The voice is that of a young girl. Balto and Jenna look to each other. Rosy breaks through the crowd and sees Romeo's lifeless body. She looks over to Balto and Jenna and see how sad they are. Rosy slowly walks over to Romeo's body and drops to her knees. Balto and Jenna walk up to her and try to calm her down. Then Rosy's father breaks through the crowd and sees his daughter crying over Romeo's body. Confused, he goes up to her and pats her back.
Rosy's dad: It's ok, sweetie. It was goanna try and hurt people.
Rosy's eyes, closed, all of the sudden snap open and spins her body around with her arm out and slaps her dad on the cheek.
Rosy's dad: What did you do that for!?
Rosy: Cause I met this wolf this morning.
The crowd starts to mumble in confusion. Clark looks down on Rosy and gets down to his knee.
Clark: You met this wolf?
Rosy's dad: Where?
Rosy: Balto's boat. I woke up and went to see Jenna. Balto was with her and he wanted to show me something. I followed them and they wanted me to meet him.
Rosy's dad: What? Why would Balto do that?
Rosy: Cause I could tell by the look on Balto's face that there was no evil in the wolf's heart. I walked up to him, petted him, played with him all morning.
The crowd around her starts to shed some tears for the deceased wolf. And some angry faces start to emerge toward Burrows.
Rosy: This wolf wanted to be accepted by humans. Doesn't that sound familer?
Rosy's dad: Balto.
Rosy: Yes! This wolf was kind and friendly...
She wipes the tears off her face and when she finishs an angry face emerges and she looks to Burrows and points to him.
Rosy: YOU KILLED AN INNOCENT ANIMAL!!!
Rosy's cry over her new animal friend causes a round of anger twoards Burrows. The whole crowd starts to run to him with fists aiming right for his face. But before anyone could get hurt, a gunshot echos into the air and everyone ducks and tucks there heads in. In this reaction, Jenna runs to Rosy's defence and Balto runs to both of there defences. Even though this is just for a few seconds, the hysteria that was about to take place has been stopped. Balto looks around to see where the shot came from and so do the people. There search for the shot ends when Clark is seen holding a pistol into the air.
Clark: There will be no blood sheded on the streets of my town. Right now, I'm goanna decide how this will end. The wolf before us will be givin a proper bureal and he will not be burried as a enemy of Nome, he will be buried as a citizen of Nome. Burrows, your gun and your hunting lisence will be confiscated immiditly.
Burrows has no choice but to do as Clark is telling him. He hands his rifle to the mayor. Once he does so, he walks down the street and no one says a word to him. Yet Balto, Jenna and Rosy keep there angry eyes on him, until he drops out of sight. Once Burrows is gone, the corwd starts to disperce. Some people leave with looks of sorrow on there faces, rubbing the back of there necks and other expresions to greave over Romeo's death. Light drops of snow start to fall to the ground. Rosy keeps hugging her father as tears run down her face. Balto keeps his eyes on his head friend. Jenna is the first one to really notice the snow coming down and lifts her head up. Along with snow, small rain drops start to come down.
Jenna: It's a rain-snow mix.
Balto: The heavens weap as well.
He says keeping his eyes on Romeo. Clark comes to Balto side and gets down to him, lightly petting his head.
Clark: I'm sorry Balto. We'll make sure he gets a proper burial. If only we knew his name.
Clark then moves his hand over Romeo's head to apologize to him. However, as soon as Clark's hand makes contact with Romeo's jet black fur, a sudden rush fills into Clark's body. When this sensation, goes up to his head, a quiet echo into his mind. A voice, it is. A warm, nice, sad voice. That of a female. Romeo it says. The sensation goes away just as fast as it came. He lets off a loud gasp, jumps up to his feet and trembles a bit. All those around him notice this and keep there eyes on him.
Rosy's dad: What is it mayor?
Clark: Did you hear anything just now?
Rosy's dad: No. Why?
Clark: I dont know what just happend. I touched the wolf's head and the next thing a voice was calling out to me. It said a name. Romeo.
Rosy: His name's Romeo?
Clark: I guess so.
Balto and look at each other in confusion, overhearing this while still upset over the death of there newfound friend.
Balto: A voice?
Jenna: Balto what are they talking about?
Balto: I don't know. But i have a feeling...
Rosy's dad: A voice called out to you? What did it sound like?
Clark: It was a warm voice that would make anyone feel safe in the darkest place.
Balto's eyes widen and drops his jaw.
Balto: No way!
Jenna: What?
Balto: Aniu.
Jenna: Your mother...oh I get it now.
Know that his mother is watching over this crises, Balto's heart starts to warm up a bit. Yet the pain of lossing his friend is still inside him. Clark gets moves around Romeo's body and goes into the city hall building. He comes out no more than ten sceonds later with two other men. They gather around Romeo and start to pick him off. Balto walks up to Clark and rubs his head on the side of the Mayor's leg. Along with that, he lets of a whine of saddnes. Clark pats Balto on the head:
Clark: Its ok boy. We'll give Romeo a proper bureal. One fit for a hero.
Clark and the two men pick Romeo up and carry his liflless body down the street to the vets. There the Romeo will be cleaned up and will be until a special coffin is made for him. Jenna joins Balto's side and leans her head on his shoulder and lets her tears flow on to him. Rosy keeps herslef cluched in her dad's arms and continues to weep. He eventually picks her up and looks to Balto and Jenna.
Rosy's dad: Balto, Jenna lets go.
They look back to him.
Rosy's dad: You can stay with us tonight Balto. I think you and Jenna are who Rosy whats to be with the most right now.
Balto nods his head to the human and follows him home with Jenna at his side.
Two days later:
The moring of Romeo's funeral was filled with silence and tears. The events that Balto, Jenna, Rosy and Romeo went through have been told to the whole town. The funeral itself is striat forward: The mayor gives off a small speech saying how misjuged humans are to wolves and that these events are the kind that show humans that not all wolves are evil. While some are filled with darkness and hate, there are those like Romeo where darkness has been chased away from there heart by light. They put Romeo in the ground and leave a small cross with the follwoing written on it: Here lies Romeo. A wolf that was killed as a demon but buried as a symbol of kindness and heart. Balto and Jenna are the only ones to stay, once the people have cleard from the funeral. Not a shred of tear fall from there faces. They sit there looking at the grave for what seems to be forever. But Jenna finally breaks the silence:
Jenna: I'm goanna miss him.
Balto: I will too, Jen. But we'll see him agian.
Jenna: How?
Balto: Living or dead, you keep the ones you love the most in your heart and dreams... and there never gone.
Jenna smiles and leans into Balto's face to nuzzle him. Balto embraces her more than he has ever done before. Balto and Jenna turn and walk away from the grave the one of the greatest wolves they've ever know. But know that his body may be underground....his spirit will live on.
Forever.
