Ricky looked up to the mountians. He always thought that the mountians cooled him down. He also new that it was his new mate, Maggie. He looked at Maggie with his ice blue eyes that always melted when he looked at her. He looked at her plump belly. Soon she would be haveing some puppies. He was really nervious. He hadn't really had a father figure to look up to,  besides Balto, and he never spent time around Balto. He knew that he would have some hard time at first, but he'll get use to it. He doesn't want his children to grow up and hate wolves. He wantes them to love them, unlike he had.

Maggie smiled in her sleep. She knew that Ricky thought she was sleeping, but she wasn't. Its been hard to fall a sleep latley. Haveing pups in her belly didn't help much. She had visited Jenna a lot since the days of the due date were getting closer. She was excited, but she could feel the nerviousness off of Ricky every day. But she also felt something else, but she didn't know what.

Every day the day got closer Ricky would wake up earlier and make sure there was food and water in the bowl. Her bed was nice and clean, and that she got enough sleep and exercise. He had also kept visiting his step brothers to ask them questions, since they all had pups of there own. He was excited, and he knew it too. Every day he got hyper, and just wanted the pups to pop out right than and there. But he knew he had to wait. The pups will come when they wanted to come. He never left her side, well unless she had to go to the bathroom or he was practicing his sledding. He knew that his father was away a lot, but he wouldn't be like that. If he had to go somewhere, he wouldn't go, unless he really had to. The only way he would go if he was sure his family would be fine with it. Though he was sure he would miss his family too much to even stand it.

Maggie could see the happiness in Ricky's eyes now. All the nerviousness had left and was with excitment. She was excited to, and new she also wanted them to pop out now. But she was scared. She had heard that dogs have died giving birth, even humans have. But she trusted Ricky to take care of them if she did die. She had talked about this once with Ricky, but he had said that you have grown up with tones of wolves. and got stronger, and they rarely die of this. He had said that she had a bonus, medican, which would cure her faster than it would with out nothing, and she knew that he was right. She was happyy that she had chosen Ricky to be her mate. He may be a tought shell, but once you get under all that he is very soft.

Three weeks later:

Melting eyes looked at the door. It has been two hours since Maggie had went into labor. His parents had arrived a while ago. Jenna was asleep next to Rosie.

"Ricky? You alright?" asked Balto.

"Why is it takeing so long?" replied Ricky in a small vioce.

"Don't worry, it took Jenna longer than this with six of them. She probably had four or five according to the size of her belly, she's alright," smiled Balto nudging Ricky.

"You sure?" frowned Ricky.

"Yes, now get some sleep young man, you wanna be able to see them with out passing out right? I'll wake you up when they say you can come in, " said Balto.

"Okay," said Ricky curling up into a tight ball.

Three hours later:

"Ricky! Ricky!" barked someone.

Ricky opened one of his eyes trying to remember what had happened. Than all of a sudden he had remembered that Maggie was in labor.

"Is everything alright!" chocked Ricky.

"Yes," smiled Jenna.

"You can go in know," smiled Balto.

Ricky got up and moved towards the door. It was opened a crack, so he went inside. There he found a dog bed at the corner. Maggie was there. He walked up to her and saw that she was smiling and wagging her tail. Ricky looked at the pups and smiled. Three females and one male.

ONE MONTHS LATER:

Ricky and Maggie smiled at there four pups. They were now four weeks old. They had named them all.

The first born was named Sally. She was black and cream. She had dark blue eyes that looked lilke the skye at night. She was hyper all the time. She was sweet and gentle. Her goal was to travel the world! She would always hitch hike on trips when there owners had left, so she was really good at hiding already. Usually when she played hide and seek with her siblings she was the last one to be found.

The second one was Sadie. She was black and white. Her eyes were green like the forest. She was shy, kind, but she also likes to show off. Her goal was to be a show-dog. She always hangs around with Jenna, or any other purebred, expecially show-dogs that were not snotty.

Third born was the runt. They had named her Sarah. She was easy-going, but pretty harsh, she liked to be alone. Her goal was to live in a peaceful village and make a lot of friends, since that was kinda hard for her. She was rough and hard to get a long with since she didn't really talk. Her only friends were her siblings, she had gotten along with her only brother the best.

The last one was the only male in the litter. They had named hmim McKinley, after a famous race dog. He was black and dark cream. He had hazel green eyes. He was the out-going type, and was VERY confident. He had never let anyone down in his life. He wanted to be just like his father and granfather, Ricky and Balto, he ran hours everyday, sometimes even right through meals! He never will give up.

THE END :)
