Balto’s daughter Kiara walked the streets of
“Hiya Kodi!” She barked happily.
“Hey Ki!” He replied.
They all played when they decided to play hide and seek. After a few tiny arguments they finally agreed on who was it.
“Okay I’ll count you hide.1…2…3…” Kiara started and the rest were off into the woods. Kiara lay on the ground, her paws over her eyes waiting for herself the reach 40.
“…35…36…37…38…39…40! Ready or not here I co-GASP!”
She saw Brianna looking down on her growling. Steele’s daughter. She was about her age. She gulped, knowing she had to face her fears. Bri just grinned. A mocking grin that made Kiara just want to die. Kiara HATED her. After killing her mother’s second litter before they were even born. Kiara growled warningly. Kiara looked just like Aleu, just with her mothers fur color.
“Yer’ not getting away from me wolf-dog. Just keep starin’ at me. Keep starin’ because if you keep starin’ at me… You won’t know the REAL danger.” Then a smell came… a trap…Kiara turned and saw in a distance a human figure… Brianna’s owner! She had to warn Kodi and the rest!
Just as Kiara was about to run something tightened around her throat. It was a rope. The more she tugged the tighter it got. She choked and tried to howl. She finally let one out.
Back in the woods all the dogs ears perked up.
“Contacting sled team...” Kodi said to himself making out the howl.
The dogs tried to make out the howl too.
“…Brianna’s owner…. Trap… chokes…help…!” Kirby said
“Kiara’s in danger! C’mon guys!” Kodi barked. The group ran at full speed. Then they saw Kiara being put into a truck, snarling.
“Kiara!” Kodi cried. They all ran. But it was too late. The next morning Kiara woke up at a strange place. She was quickly thrown into a small pen-like thing. It had a small fence around it and outside of the pen was shouting, disgusting drunken men. Then a man opened one part of the pen and a big mutt came in. The man quickly shut the pen. She sensed that she had to kill this dog. Or else the dog would kill her.
But she didn’t like the fact of the men getting the gift if she won… And she did just what she wanted to. The dog tilted his head to one side, still growling though, wondering if she was even any danger. Then she leapt out of the pen and tackled the men to the ground. They threw empty beer bottles at her as she ran into the streets. She had a satisfied grin on my face as she ran back to
she came back limping for the running made her weak along with the cuts she had from the glass of beer bottles. She howled wondering if anyone would reply. Then She saw Kirby and Kodi run up to her.
“KIARA!” Kodi shouted with joy. He nuzzled her in a friendly matter. shewas quickly taken to the vets when Kodi’s owners found me. Within a month she was fully healed. she used to have owners but they abandoned her when she grew into a teenager and started acting wolfish. Now she lives with Balto on his boat. One day she heard voices in the woods.
“These humans are taking over our Territory! He have to do something. They have killed our leader and we must move to a new land.”
Kiara couldn’t help but walk into the woods.
“I-I could help.”
“And who are YOU supposed to be?...” a big wolf asked her. Then he sniffed her. “Hybrid…”
“The white wolf, Aniu’s granddaughter and Balto’s daughter.” She snapped back.
“I know an empty territory a bit far from here… it’s not owned and it’s not human infested. My sister once showed me it. I could lead you there, unless you don’t want to be led by a hybrid… Do you?” She growled again.
“Were so sorry. Are you Aleu?”
"No that’s my sister. Her pack is VERY far from here.”
“Oh then… Who are you exactly?”
“I’m Kiara.”
“Let us think about things and we will let you know if we agree okay?”
“Sure.” Kiara said happily and walked off. She saw the sled team play fighting in the distance and she played with them. Then they ran chasing each other on an ice patch just falling everywhere and laughing. She slipped and fell next to Kirby and her paw accidentally fell on top of his.
Everyone continued running and they just stared for a moment. Kiara nervously laughed and they both started saying “I’m sorry…”, “it was my fault…”, “That was weird…” and other things over and over as they got up.
The next day came and the sled team had successfully delivered the mail. Kiara saw them pull up. She waved at her brother and he smiled. Then she suddenly turned her gaze to Kirby who was scratching his ear. She couldn’t help but smile like an idiot.
What am I thinking? Kirby? That’s too weird… I don’t like Kirby… And besides I’m probably going to have to lead that pack to find their territory…
A familiar voice interrupted her thoughts.
“Kiara? Your kind of staring at me…” Kirby said waving a paw at her face to make her ‘wake up’.
“Oh? What?” Kiara said snapping out of her thoughts.
Kodi just slapped his forehead. Time passed and Kirby and Kiara became good friends, although Kiara liked Kirby a bit.
“So then my owner said to his friend, whatever you do, do NOT feed the poodle.” Kirby said. The two began cracking up.
“Kirrrbyyy!!!!” a young voice called.
“Ah. My pup’s calling me. I gotta go Kiara. See ya tomorrow!” he said them nuzzled her. She sighed happily as he walked out. She really liked him.
Kiara went to Balto’s boat and then heard a howl.
“Contacting… Kiara.” She said. She nodded. It was the wolves.
She ran into the woods.
“Kiara you will lead us to that territory you spoke of next week. As for now we must build up our energy and be prepared. Kiara nodded sadly. She could be leaving
Then it was the day they would have to leave. The sun was setting and it was becoming night.
Kiara stood of a cliff’s edge nearby the forest sadly looking up at the stars.
“Kiara?...” she heard a familiar voice.
“Kirby?” she turned.
He sat down next to her.
“Ki… I know it’s really hard to leave you friends and family. It’s the same way I felt when I moved here after being sold to my owner. But look! I’m happy now! I have a caring owner and a lot of friends!...”
“No. You don’t understand. I’ll truly miss my family and I’m really going to miss my friends… But there’s somebody who I’ll be leaving!... And it’s going to put a huge gaping hole in my heart!” She cried.
“Who…?”
She turned to him, her saddened blue eyes shined like the night’s sky.
“…You.”
Kirby was sad by this and he was also happy that she loved him. Nobody had said anything like that to him ever.
“I love you Kirby…” Then she licked his cheek.
“But I have to go. The wolves are depending on me. They could die and…”
He licked her cheek.
“You worry too much.” He interrupted jokingly. Kiara blushed.
“I have to go. I love you Kirby.”
Then she was off.
“I love you too Kiara.” He whispered to himself.
