Glacier sat on a pile of crates and facing out into the streets, watching people walk by. How blind they could be to not notice the harsh looks, dogs belonging in gangs shot at each other. He heard a chuckle behind him and turned to see Bernie hobble up to him. "How you doing kid?" Bernie asked. It was just a few days earlier that he had found out that Cash had become leader of the second highest group. Also he found out that the girl of his dreams, Savanna was taken by Brock, Cash's right hand man. He felt tore up all inside. Anger, love, revenge, oh it was a thunderstorm crossed with the cursed blizzard inside him. A sigh released from him in a heavy manner before he answered.
"Alright I guess." Even though he didn't know Bernie for very long doesn't mean he couldn't trust him. It felt wrong to lie to Bernie but he just kept watching the people.
"Come on. At the cafe they just had lunch hour and there's going to be lots of scraps." Bernie smiled. Glacier chuckled before hopping down to the ground next to the husky. "Let's get going before all the good food's gone." Bernie launched into a slow gallop as Glacier matched with his long strides.

Glacier laid in the shade of the boiler room. Eyes were closed in comfort and he could hear Bernie's snoring from inside. "Oh hey Glacier..." A sweet, melodic voice spoke. His eyes flew open to see light tan paws, inches from his nose. His eyes looked up as far as the ycould go to see the dark brown face of Savanna. A wave of love and pure delight soaked him. Quickly, he stood and shook the dirt from his thick coat. He didn't realize the spring of White Mountain could be so much warmer than Nome's spring.
"So how are you?" He spoke soft and in a gentleman's voice. Savanna smiled.
"Good I guess. And you?" Her ears perked forward and her hazel eyes were bright. Glacier could feel the blood rushing to his cheeks just by her voice and eyes. Ah he was in so much trouble! He nodded for he was afraid he was going to say something that would lead to an awkward moment.
"Hey Babe." Savanna turned her head to face the oncoming Brock. A bark of happiness escaped her throat as she dashed up to him. Happy yips and barks filled the air as the two canines circled each other in delight. Glacier was about to turn away when he heard a serious side of Brock. "So why were you talking with Glacier here?" Brock walked toward him and faced him. Glacier could feel the same anger the day when he first met Cash.
"Brock I was just walking about and ran into him." Savanna nuzzled under Brock's chin but that didn't soften Brock's glare. "You know you can always make friends outside of the gang." Savanna spoke softly.
Brock turned away from Glacier and a smile appeared on his face. "I guess you're right hon." Glacier sighed a sigh of relief. Brock moved forward with a bit of stiffness. "Sorry about my behavior Glacier." Brock bowed his head down a bit but it shot back up. Glacier was suddenly surprised at how Brock could be so behaved and yet so ready to defend what was his...which meant Savanna. "I heard that you and Cash weren't the best of friends."
Glacier pinned his ears back and his lip drew back. "I was never friends with that bastard. And never will be." Glacier towered over Brock with his large frame. Brock stepped back a bit. "Sorry about that. It's just Cash always picked on me because I'm a hybrid." Savanna's expression changed to sympathy.
"I should have known you had some wolf blood in you." Brock smiled. Glacier returned his smile. "Brock! Get your ass here now!" Brock turned to face the direction the order came from. "We must go. See you around Glacier." Brock turned to walk away. Savanna smiled before she followed her mate. Glacier watched them walk away especially Savanna's rear end.
He sighed. He respected Brock and he knew Brock deserved Savanna. But one thing he knew was that Cash didn't deserve to be leader. It should have been Brock. "Oh well." he thought before the hybrid turned for home.

Late in the night, the Stone Howl Clan was resting in a large shed that they claimed their's. "Hey Brock...Captain wants you." A scruffy hound mix spoke. Brock rolled his eyes before he stood from his comfy postion. The husky stepped closer to a pile of crates that Cash used when speaking. "Ah Brock!" Cash smiled his devilish grin. "Here is my second in command that was telling you about." A black masked dog stood. It was an Akita. Brock raised his head and spoke, "Sir." Cash nodded and Brock sat next to him. "Brock I want you to meet your partner in force." "Partner in force?" Brock could feel himself becoming defensive of his postition.
The Akita strode forward and looked at Brock with a bored expression. "He's not bad." The Akita spoke as he examined Brock. "Ah where are my manners!" The Akita said. Brock just shot him a grudge look. The Akita smirked. "I'm Mark." "As you know I'm Brock." Brock responded.
"I'll leave you two to your getting to knowing." Cash spoke before he disappeared into a large tent that was behind the crates. "Probably to screw two clan members." Brock thought. "So Brock.." Mark started. Brock looked at the black masked Akita again. He didn't like Mark's tone. "You will be crushed once I start showing the chief that I'm a better choice." Mark's tone was dark and deadly. Brock growled. "But we'll become the best of friends." Mark chuckled ending with a evil smirk. Mark then turned and walked away softly. "Hey Mark!" Brock snapped as he stood. Mark faced him and Brock spoke harshly, "It'll end in blood." Brock then headed back to his place with Savanna.

Over the days Brock and Mark always fought for command. But Brock was getting tired of it. Each day he wished he could tear Mark apart but of course he couldn't. Each time Mark did something good he always shot that stupid smirk at him. Brock begun visiting Glacier each day as their friendship grew. But Brock didn't realize the danger that was lurking around. He didn't notice the greed in the eyes of Mark.

"I'm so tired with that little jackass! He's a kiss up. He didn't work for the spot like I did." Brock snarled while him and Glacier walked around town. Glacier nodded. From Brock's report, Mark seemed like a real stuck up.
"Then why don't you leave the clan?" Glacier asked.
"If you leave the clan they'll hunt you down." Brock sighed.
"Tell Cash to get Mark off your back."
"I've tried. He doesn't listen." Brock replied before growling. His mood was dark. Meanwhile, a certain someone chuckled from the shadows before quickly galloping back to base. Mark once he reached the base, laughed aloud. The pack members looked up at the sudden laughter. Mark snarled at the hound mix. "What are you looking at?" The hound mix quickly turned away. Mark was so happy with his plan to rid himself of Brock once and for all. "Time to go and look around his property." Mark smuggly grinned as he made his way to Brock's tent.
"Well hello Savanna." Mark spoke smoothly as he neared the tent. Savanna looked up.
"Oh hi Mark." She stood and shook her fur to rid it of dirt.
"I was just a wondering what you had in that tent." And without another word, dashed inside.
"Get out of there!" Savanna yelled before entering. A loyal friend of Brock, the hound mix gasped then dashed out of the shed to find Brock.
"Don't need to be hostile." Mark said as his eyes looked around the tent. Old blankets and a few pillows that were found in the dump. "I thought you and Brock were owned by someone." Mark spoke.
"He ran away from his owner to be with me. He had come up to White Mountain on a hunting trip. Well we laid eyes on each other and so he made up his mind." Savanna answered. She didn't like the situation she was in.
"Oh how romantic! But as you see my dear I have eyes for only one person." Mark moved closer to Savanna. Savanna was about to dash outside but he cut off her exit. She backed away as he came closer until her hindquarters touched the other side of the tent. "You." Mark smiled and Savanna gasped. "I'm here to collect what's rightfully mine." Savanna snarled and lashed out. A yelp and Mark growled. She had struck him right below the eye.
"You get out right now or else I'm going to beat the crap out of you!" Savanna shouted. Her ears pinned back and her eyes narrowed. "Hmm...tough girl. You know I like tough girls." Mark grinned and Savannah snarled. Mark moved closer.
Suddenly, a flash of fury and Mark gave out a cry. "Brock!" Savanna sighed of relief. "You stay away from her you ugly son of a bitch!" Brock roared with anger as he threw Mark out of the tent and into the open. Pack members gathered closer to see what was going on. Glacier quickly stood beside Savanna. "Glacier!" She smiled.
"Are you alright?" he spoke.
"Yes I'm fine." She answered before she watched her mate slash out in pure anger. Brock was biting, tackling, ramming, and tearing like he was on a rampage. He was furious with Mark and he let him know it. Mark tried to stand up against him but was too weak as the beatings became worse.
"What is going on?" Cash yelled out. Brock tried to get in one more bite before Glacier dragged him off the poor Akita. But it was no use. Glacier was stronger. Mark breathed hard and started to cough blood as Brock glared down on him. Cash strode forward as Matt staggered to a stand. "Brock has become an ally with Glacier sir! He plots behind your back!" Mark cried out. A gasp overcame the crowd.
"That's a lie!" Brock snarled. "Silence Brock!" Cash yelled then noticed the tall frame of Glacier. "Then what is he doing here!" Cash demanded rather than asked.
Brock cleared his throat. "He has become my friend and sir I have not been plotting behind your back." Savanna marched up to Cash and growled. "Brock is honest. He would never do that!" Cash snarled and slapped Savanna across the face.
"Speak only when you are spoken too!" Cash spoke harshly. Brock rushed forward and helped his mate to a stand. "Sir..." Brock begun but Mark intrupted, "He's only saying that to protect his hide!"
"Shut up you piece of chicken liver!" Savanna cried out. "Enough!" Cash shouted. Glacier, Brock, and Savanna stood as silent as stones.
"I, Cash leader of the Stone Howl Pack banish you from the pack. You are no longer welcomed." Members picked up their barks as they started moving toward the three slowly. "Come on let's go." Brock said sadly as he and Savannah walked out of the shed into the early evening.
"Oh Cash!" Glacier yelled. "This will not be forgotten and the Stone Howl Pack will crumble under your command!" The hybrid raised his noble head and howled a deep song. The dogs of the clan stopped their barking and panic voices whispered through the clan. Cash drew back a lip as Glacier exited the building.

"Hey Bernie you don't mind if two more canines lived here?" Glacier called out as they entered the boiler room. Bernie looked up and sighed.
"Fine. And what happened to you lad?" Bernie rushed up to Brock. "We'll tell you later." Savanna answered as the two moved closer to the heat of the boiler and laid down. Bernie turned to face Glacier.
"Do I want to know?" Glacier didn't look at him but Bernie could tell a hard expression was on Glacier's face. "Oh White Mountain's going to be turned upside down." Bernie mumbled.
