{“Stay back Kiko. Chief I don’t want for us to fight.”}

 Chief growled angrily and looked into Lithium’s eyes to try and get the young dog to fight with him. But Lithium in other words growled back but waited for his next move. ‘If he is to attack first then I will fight back.’ Lithium thought as he also circled his now enemy. “Chief, it’s your go. I have all these other dogs here probably on my side.” Lithium said as his eyes went from Chief to the crowd of dogs around the two. “You might not want to fight. Who knows what will then become of you. Besides your provoking the fight and I’m only sticking up for my..gir-..friend.” Lithium said as he looked back to Kiko.

“Oh Please! You couldn’t do anything to me! And plus who would the police chief believe more? A couple of dogs around this pub? Or Me? The best dog on the force?” Chief growled as he continued to circle Lithium. But what he didn’t know, the K-9 police chief was indeed in the room at the time.

“Chief! You’re making a big deal out of nothing! I’m waiting for your move! I’m not getting into trouble for a crime I didn’t commit!” Lithium barked. Kiko felt like stepping forward but he paws remained in the same spot. The Police Chief was indeed watching. Chief on the other hand was getting quite annoyed, he was to get him! Chief leapt and attacked Lithium catching him off guard and knocking him to the ground. Lithium growled and got up as Chief went at him once more. Lithium growled and went to bit his paw, making Chief yelp. Kiko gasped as the fight went on and everyone stared in awe unable to be able to do anything, except watch from a far enough range. Not even the Police chief could seem to do anything. But he growled and barked trying to get their attention. Chief gasped and jumped back in partial fear. Kiko looked around, she new that bark. Lithium just jumped back hoping nothing would happen to him, he was only trying to defend himself. The Police Chief stepped out and looked at Chief with disappointment on his face. Clearly he was upset to have heard the whole thing and to have watched his best dog do something he would have never thought possible. Not by him at least. He wasn’t even to wait on a court warrant; he was to do it now. Kiko ran to Lithium and nuzzled him shocked and scared of what was to happen. Lithium nuzzled back but looked at Chief who seemed to have nothing at all only a very frightened look upon his face.

“Whom started this fight?!” The Police Chief asked angrily as he barked at Chief. Chief nodded his face to Lithium and asked a question of his own.

“Chief, how long have you been there?” Chief asked directly. The Chief growled and answered.

“That’s none of your business Sergant! I asked you a question and I expect for you to answer it!” The Chief said sharply. Chief seemed to sink as if he had been hit and blood slowly oozed out of the cut on his foot.

“Chief, I..I-it was him! He started the fight! Ask anyone in here!” Chief yelled lying to his Chief’s face.

“I was here! I saw what happened! Why are you saying this?” The Chief asked his sergant. Chief’s heart dropped. The Chief looked at his sergant and growled angrily. “You disobeyed me! Going after an innocent for no reason!” he growled. “Sergant you have been……suspended!” He yelled making everyone jump in fear. “Meet me in my office in 15 hours.” The Chief said turning and walking away. The suspension seemed to go away and the music was slowly turned back on lowly. Chief just sat there with a scared, shocked, and angered look across his face. Kiko felt sorry for him but didn’t in a way. He shouldn’t have done that. Lithium only looked at Kiko. The cut on his front paw Chief had made was getting worse and it hurt. Bad. Kiko nor Lithium was even about to go say something to him and they only looked at each other.

“Lithium are you OK?” Kiko asked nuzzling him slowly. Lithium sighed and nodded. Kiko opened her eyes back up and looked down and noticed his foot. “Lithium! Your foot!” Kiko yelped. “Lithium come to my home with me.” Lithium looked at her and smiled calmly.

“It hurts but I’m fine. I’ll come to your house.” Lithium said.

“Alright. Good.” Kiko said smiling and helping him up. Kiko looked back where Chief was but her wasn’t anywhere to be found. ‘Where could he have gone?’ Kiko thought walking out of the pub. She didn’t much care as Lithium too did not. She didn’t really love him. ‘And to have thought he was the one…’ Kiko thought once more as they walked.

 It took about ten minutes to get to Kiko’s house. Kiko went through the doggy-door and Lithium followed close behind. Kiko laid in her basket and lithium laid near the fireplace. He had to admit. She had a nice house in he had a rugity house. Kiko smiled at Lithium and got up and out of her bed and walked to him and began licking his wounds. Lithium yanked and yelped a little. It stung.

“I guess you and Chief aren’t going out anymore huh?” Lithium asked smiling. Kiko smiled and looked up at him. She shook her head.

“Have you broken up with Star?” Kiko asked.

“Well, I broke the news to her and I really love you. She said she was sad and it was Ok. She also told me not to expect a Kiss again.” When Kiko heard that she laughed. Lithium only chuckled and nuzzled her. Kiko was about finished when Lithium spoke again. “Kiko, I know this is real sudden and all. We have talked about it but I’m going to make it a little more humane.” Lithium said. Kiko looked at him and nodded.

“Go on.”

“Well, will you be my mate?” Kiko smiled. It wasn’t surprising but she smiled.

“Well, sweetie it was about downright time!” Kiko said smiling. Lithium smiled and nodded in question. Kiko nodded and Lithium smiled and nuzzled her. He wasn’t shocked either just hoped she said yes other then saying no. Kiko smiled and got up in her bed. She motioned for him to follow and he did happily. “So, now since were mates..wanna…?” Kiko said wrapping her tail around his neck. Lithium chuckled and……….

     The Night ends…happily…

Kiko smiled sleeping in her basket, Lithium wrapped up behind her. She felt sore all over and opened her eyes remembering what had happened the night before. She smiled, yawned, and stretched getting out of her basket. He owner Scott walked in the room and yelled in fright.

“What in the world!” Scott Ramson said going to get his pellet gun. Kiko gasped and barked at Scott as Lithium awoke and growled.

“Lithium stop growling! Stay there!” Kiko ran trying to find her owner and when she did she grabbed his shirt in her teeth and pulled her in the room he found them in. “Lithium come here slowly.” Scott went to slap Kiko but she let go and jumped away when his hand came down. Lithium looked to Kiko then the man and slowly walked forward his muzzle out. Scott slowly backed away and Lithium walked a little faster towards him and Scott stuck his hand out and stopped moving. Lithium walked to him and nuzzles his hand.

“Good…” Scott stopped short and looked underneath. “Boy. Good boy..” He repeated patting his hand. “Well, I suppose you can stay, why not. I’ll be back Kiko girl.” Scott smiled softly. He rubbed Kiko’s head and got up and walked away. He went to shut the doors and left the house for work.

“Wow.” Lithium said. Kiko looked at him

“What the night or Scott?” Kiko asked.

“The night was what I was talking about.” Lithium chuckled, Kiko smiled and walked to him and nuzzled him happily. “I’m sore how about you?” Lithium asked Kiko giggled and nodded

       3 Weeks Later         

Lithium and Kiko had happily been living with each other and Chief had been fired with his police work. Chief was also a single outcast of the town. Kiko and her friend made up, and she also met some more. The whole town knew they were going out and Lithium visited his family with the love of his life more often. Scott was too kind to let Lithium come and see Kiko whenever he wanted and Lithium’s owner hadn’t had a problem with it either. She was delighted.

“Come on Kiko!” Scott said walking away from his calendar. “Kiko! Come on girl!” Kiko had been getting a little plump and slowly trotted in the room that Scott was in and barked happily. Scott smiled and patted her head then headed out to the car. He opened the car door and let her hop in. She did so and he shut the door getting in the drivers seat. It took about five minutes to get there and when they did Scott let Kiko out and she waited for him to open the door to the doctors office and she was happily let it. About twenty minutes past and they were let out of the office and Kiko was let back into the car with an amazed look upon her Face.

‘Oh gosh! I need to tell Lithium about it!’ She knew that she needed to hurry and Lithium would be outside her door to see what they said. It took about five more minutes then it had cause of traffic. She growled and whined. It needed to hurry. When they got there Kiko was let out and she ran to Lithium whom she guessed would be waiting upon the porch of her home to hear the news.

“Kiko how’d it go? What did they say?” Lithium rushed to her smiling and greeting her with a nuzzle, Kiko smiled and nuzzled back happily.

“It went quite well. Uh I have some news.” Kiko said looking down. Lithium’s face seemed to drop. ‘So many bad things it could be…please…’ Kiko looked at him and spoke quickly. “I’m pregnant!” Kiko said happily. Lithium’s face then brightened up and he nuzzled her all over. He was overjoyed!

“Really? Oh my gosh! How many will it be? What will they look like? What will they be like?” Lithium asked all the questions at once. How couldn’t he? Kiko smiled as tears sprang into her eyes. Kiko’s friend was strolling around when she heard Lithium yelling. Tay-Tay galloped over to her and frowned.

“Whats going on Kiko? Lithium?” Tay-Tay wasn’t much of a gossiper but she would gossip if she was asked what she knew about something….
