“Yeah. Beautiful, like you.” Lithium said. Kiko then flickered her ear and turned in his direction. They both smiled at each other and moved closer, then closer, then closer, a kiss. Kiko pulled back alarmed and gasped, though she loved it she knew it was wrong to have done such a thing to her boyfriend.

“I’m so sorry. It was my fault.” Kiko said as she looked at the ground. Lithium licked his chops and sighed too looking at the ground.

“No. I was the one with the words. I guess I moved in more.” Lithium said looking down.

“Oh well no one was watching. It doesn’t matter.” Kiko said looking around. Lithium smiled at her.

“Hey Lithium would you like to hang out at the downtown dog party tonight?” Kiko asked looking at Lithium.

“Sure. How about we hang out till then? Eh?” He smiled. “Got nothing better to do.” Lithium said as he lowered his head. Kiko smiled at him. She had a somewhat love feeling for him.

“Ok, sure. Where would we hang out at?” Kiko asked as she looked at him. She had an idea and started walking.

”Where are you going? Kiko” Kiko smiled and turned to the dog.

“Just follow me.” Kiko smiled as she started to run. Lithium smiled and followed forgetting about his own mate.

                                                        Chief

“I can’t believe she just stormed off like that!” Chief said pacing back and forth. He was mad and worried about his lovely mate. “I think I need to go out and find her!” Chief said as he looked at Kiko’s  Parents.

“No! No! That wouldn’t be necessary. She will be fine Chief. It’s only been an hour,” Kiko’s father said. Unlike Chief he wasn’t so worried about his daughter. He knew she would come to her senses.

“I am to find her! I will find her.” Chief said as he ran out the door. Kiko’s parents just looked at each other and sighed laying their heads down.

“Kiko! Kiko!” Chief called as he ran through the streets. ‘Where would she be?’ Chief thought as he ran through alleyways.

“Well, well, well. Looky who it is!” Stepped out a cream mutt.

“Listen Jr. Not right now! I’m in search of my mate!”

“Don’t you need a mate first?” The mutt referred as Jr. scoffed as he circled him.

“Listen not in the mood!” Chief growled as he striked out at the mutt. “I have a mate and I intend to find her! I will deal with you later.” The mutt scoffed again and Chief turned to him and pounced on him grabbing his neck in his teeth.

“Ok! Ok! I’m sorry, you go find your mate!” The dog strangled but managed to get out. Chief smirked and let go.

“Great choice!” Chief replied running off to continue the search. The mutt looked at him and sneered.

“Kiko! Kiko! Where are you?!”

                “Where here.” Kiko said as she stopped panting after the long run. Lithium stopped beside her and smiled then looked out along the path.

“Wow..Kiko it’s beautiful!” Lithium exclaimed as he watched the sunset at the top of the hill. Lithium sat down scootching closer to her. Kiko smiled at Lithium as she eyes him get closer. She looked at his legs then at his face, which was looking down to her. Kiko smiled a little more and leaned her head against him. Letting out her true feelings for him. Lithium smiled as he let his head rest upon hers, though he took it a little farther and nuzzled the Shepard. Kiko only smiled and went along with him.

“I love you…” Kiko whispered so silently he could hardly tell what she had said.

“Kiko! Kiko where are you?!” Kiko astonished her mate had found her and quickly pulled away and stood up looking at lithium. She sighed and hurriedly walked to meet Chief.

“Chief I’m over here!” Kiko called flushing.

“Kiko! Baby!” Chief said as she ran to her mate, nuzzling her.

“Chief I’m fine! I just came here to watch the sunset.” Kiko answered the upcoming question, for she knew it would come. Chief then deeply smelled in her scent sniffing something unfamiliar. What or who was it?

“Okay. Kiko, who have you been hanging out with?” Chief asked looking her in the eye. Kiko was used to it and knew how to lie in people’s faces.

“I was with my uncle. You know how she is with the scent stuff and all that.” Kiko nodded looking at her mate. Her uncle was a big scent person. Different scent each visit.

“Oh. You scared me for a second. I knew you were ok. But you see your parents were worried and wanted me to find you.” Chief lied as he arched his neck and smiled at her. Kiko turned and rolled her eyes. She knew how he was.

“Listen chief why don’t you go back to town and I’ll be there in a while, Ok?” Kiko said as she turned as if to go back to town.

“Ok baby. I’ll see you then. Hurry!” Chief said, as he looked at her then turned to leave, his big police dog collar around his neck. Kiko sighed in relief as she turned back to where she had left Lithium and

walked towards the spot.

“Lithium? You still there?” Kiko asked as she looked for him. Lithium turned his head and looked toward her lying down on a patch of dust.

“Right here. Come and lay down for a second. I heard what Chief said, I will not be long and we can walk back together.” Kiko nodded in agreement and wagged her tail, walking and laying beside him.

“Okay. So…what was that nuzzle about?” Kiko blushed as she looked away from his eyes and to the floor.

“Well, look at me and I’ll show you.” Kiko squinted and looked at him. Lip lock! Lithium kissed her! Just to show how he really felt about her. He would break up with Star the next day. He truly loved her!

“Whoa. I wasn’t expecting that…What about your girlfriend? And what about my boyfriend?” Kiko said as she pulled away and nuzzled him.

“Well, I could break up with Star and you could keep going out with Chief and we could be secret.” Lithium smiled as he grinned wrapping his tail around her as they snuggled.

“Sounds like a plan. Uh..We might need to go right now.”

”Yeah, your right. Chief might have a fit.”

“Yeah.” Kiko smiled as she looked at him. She then got up and turned to face him his tail sliding off her back.

“Do you love me Kiko?” Lithium asked as he got up and looked at her concerned. Kiko looked at him.

“Well, Lithium Who said I didn’t?” Lithium smiled happily as Kiko did as well. Kiko smiled and nuzzled him starting to run back to town, Lithium smiling close behind. The traveled a little ways forward and….

“Oooffff!” Kiko had run into something furry. She looked up…

“Watch where you’re going dog!” Said a black and white figure.

“Oh I’m so sorry sir.” Kiko said as she slowly got up. Lithium watching close behind.

“Please don’t hurt us. We were only headed back to town.”

“Aha. Two love struck dogs. Hurry up and get out of here before I change my mind and hunt your down.” The black and white wolf said as he turned away. Kiko and Lithium both looked at each other and hurried the path back to town.

“Wow that was close.” Kiko said as the woods came into a clearing.

“Indeed. It was, Kiko I think this is where we go our separate ways for right now.” Lithium said as he turned to her. She sighed as she looked in front and then turned to him, she nuzzled under his chin and started off. Lithium sighed and started the other way.

“Baby! There you are! We have plans tonight!” Chief said as he walked up to his mate, he attempted to nuzzle her but she moved her head but quickly nuzzled him before he said anything.

“Yes baby? What is it?” Kiko answered as she churned around him in concern.

“Well, my friend is having a get together around night fall and he invited me. One of the police dogs on the force.” Chief explained as he eyed her

“Alright. I’ll stay with you and we can hang out till then. What do you say?” Kiko asked as she slid her tail underneath his chin. He smiled and growled with pleasure.

“Alright sweetie. Works for me if it works for you.” Chief said as he looked at her nipping her scruff. Kiko smiled a little and started off toward the boiler room. Chief snickered and followed her closely.

                                                              Later That day

“Chief are you ready to go now?”

“Kiko! No I still have to fix my Collar!”

“Chief! Were not going to a wedding!”

“I know! I’m almost ready!” Kiko sighed as Chief fixed his collar. Again. Chief walked out and smiled at her showing off his collar. Kiko secretly rolled her eyes at him.

“Ready to go now?” Kiko asked as she circled him. Kiko had a black Bandana around her neck.

“Yes sweetie, I’m ready to go.” Chief said as he walked toward the door. Kiko smiled and ran out the doggy door before Chief and laughed at his face when he walked out. About ten minutes later they were there. Kiko winked at the guard and Chief growled lowly and the guard let them in. Winking was the way females were let in and growling was the way males were let in.

“Well, ello there! Chief, Kiko what a surprise!” A black dog said as he walked up to the couple. Jason, it was his party.

“Hey there Jason.” Kiko said friendly nuzzling him. “How have you been?”

“Well, Kiko I’ve been good. How have you been chief?” Jason asked as he nodded to the police dog.

“Well Jason I have been good as well. We visited her parents today and had a great time.” Chief smiled as Kiko frowned. What was he up to?

“Yes, a swell time.” Kiko forced a smiled upon herself. Jason believed it though. He smiled at the two and walked away. Kiko looked at chief and nuzzled under his collar. Chief satisfied smiled and nuzzled her back.

“I love you Chief.” Kiko said, as she looked him in the eyes. Chief looked and smiled at her. The door opened and Kiko looked towards the entrance. She couldn’t half believe her eyes. Why was he here? Chief followed her gaze and slowly walked toward the entrance a slight glare upon him.

“Aw, here comes the little shepherd.” Chief mimicked as he walked toward Lithium. Kiko looked at him and then at Chief.

“Chief leave him alone. He didn’t do anything to you.” Kiko said wanting to leave with Lithium other then Chief. Chief gave her an odd look and snickered.

“Kiko it would seem to me your trying to stick up for this mutt.” Kiko nodded and looked at Lithium whom shook his head symbolizing for her to stay out of it. He didn’t want anything to happen. 

“Yes, Chief I am!” Kiko growled as she walked to Lithium and stood by his side. She was sick of the bossing and if she did that night she would tell him whom she loved. Whom she really loved.

“Kiko come back here now! As lead police K-9 force I command you to get here now.” He barked yelling in her face. She back up and lithium took reign.

“Chief she wants for you to leave her alone!” Lithium snarled in Chief’s face. Chief taken back a little by surprise only returned the favor. Lithium snickered and looked at Kiko.
