My first attempt at writing sucked! Hopefully this fic will show how much I've improved
Chapter 1: The New Girl In Town
Spring was here in Nome. It still was cold, but not cold enough too freeze to death. Kodi as always delivered the mail on a daily basis, Balto was now a house pet to Duke, The pilot he saved, nothing could get better than this.
Balto awoke early that morning with a bright smile, spring was the best time of the year. Flowers blossomed, and he could spend more time with Jenna. The love of his life. He now no longer lived at the rusty boat anymore with Boris, he now had a home, a home of his own, Duke the pilot was kind enough to take him in, and once and a while he would take Balto flying in that plane of his.
“Balto breakfast's ready!” Balto wagged his tail happily as Duke called him into the kitchen. He had prepared a big breakfast for him. Balto grinned and ate it happily. After that he went outside to breath the fresh, morning air. It was a beautiful day to be outside.
“Someone's bright and cheerful this morning.”
Balto's ears perked up. “Jenna?”
Jenna looked bright as usual, her red fur shimmered in the sunlight. “Good morning to you too.” she said with a laugh, nuzzling him.
Balto chuckled and nuzzled her back. “You wanna do something?” he asked hopefully.
Jenna nodded. “Of course, you know I could never refuse. What did you have in mind?”.
Balto gave her a sly grin “Well... I was thinking, just the two of us could go down to the beach.. and you know have a picnic. Duke would organise the snacks and...”
“... Sounds good Balto.” Jenna cut in with a grin now forming on her own face.
In the boiler room, that moment the sled team was having a meeting. Mel and Dipsy had a important announcement to make. “What is it you two? What is it you have to tell us, that just can't wait?” Kirby asked irritated.
“W-well...” Mel began.
“-Put it this way!” Dipsy cut in. “That pilot is still offering to deliver the mail!” she snapped.
The crowd gasped. “What? I thought saving him taught that monster a lesson?!” Ralph exclaimed.
“That's bad news.” Dusty said sadly keeping her head down.
Kodi sighed, it was too good to be true. Still. Duke was nice guy and now his father's owner. He remebered his father's words 'there day was coming'. “Look guys... my dad, did say there time was coming.” he said nervously.
Kirby scoffed. “That human needs to get a life! I regret saving him. We should've let him die!”. All the other team members nodded with Kirby in agreement. “It was all your fault!”.
“My fault? How is all of this 'my fault?!” Kodi snapped.
“ENOUGH!” Dusty yelled. “Kodi isn't the one to blame. If we didn't save him, Balto's life would've been lost as well”.
Kodi sighed. “I don't regret saving Duke..I'm proud of my actions” he said softly walking out of the room.
Kirby rolled his eyes. “Good riddance”.
The team had been harsh on Kodi lately. He was now their leader, but ever since he became lead dog. The team hated him, they thought he was 'bossy', 'annoying' and 'irritating'. “I'm just trying live up to my dad's standards” he thought. “Why can't they understand that-OW!” Kodi thoughts were interrupted as he ran right into someone.
“Oh my! I'm so sorry I wasn't watching where I was going I-” she was babbling.
Kodi found it cute, he chuckled. “Hey, it's ok. ” he said with a smile. The husky was cream coloured, had crystal blue eyes and she wore quite a fancy pink collar. She was probably from a wealthy family.
She took a deep breather and smiled nervously. “I'm Claire.” she said introducing herself.
Kodi smiled back “Kodi.” he said. “You new here? I haven't seen your around before?”.
Claire nodded. “Me and my family just moved here from the city.” she explained.
Kodi loved the sound of her voice it was girly but sweet “Liking Nome so far?” he asked.
Claire laughed. “It's a quiet town..everyone seems nice. I haven't had the chance to explore yet ...” her voice trailed off.
“Maybe I could give you a tour?” Kodi suggested hopefully.
Claire nodded, she didn't know him and her father always said not to talk to strangers but she was desperatley looking for someone to show her around. “Sure.. uh why not.” she replied with a small smile.
“Balto this is wonderful! You did this yourself?” Jenna asked. Her eyes were on a beautifully set out picnic, Balto wasn't wrong about that, he had prepared a variety of snacks all spread out on a blanket.
Balto laughed “No, Duke helped.” he said.
Jenna rolled her eyes playfully “Something tells me, he knows about our relationship” she said helping herself to a chocolate covered strawberry.
Balto chuckled. “Everyone does."
Jenna's eyes fell on the seaside it was a beautiful view. Balto nuzzled her affectionately “Beautiful day huh?”.
Jenna nodded. “Yeah.” she admitted softly. There was something she had been meaning to tell Balto, something important. “Did you know about the mysterious killings around town?” she asked.
Balto raised an eyebrow “Killings?” he repeated.
Jenna nodded now looking worried “Yeah... few dogs have disappeared and then found a few weeks later”.
Balto frowned. “This is serious.. have they been occurring lately?”.
Jenna nodded again “Yeah.. they found a body last night... Balto I'm scared for you, and Kodi-”.
“-Hey Jen, don't worry It's gonna be ok” Balto said comforting her. This meant wolves were in town.....
“How is life in the City?” Kodi asked with curiosity as he and Clarie took a stroll around town. He had shown her already in 20 minutes various places and introduced her to various dogs.
Clarie sighed Kodi regretted to ask that question she looked uncomfortable. “It's good, but way to crowded.” she replied.
Kodi frowned. “Something tells me, your life before wasn't so pleasant.”
Clarie laughed. “Oh it was, it was just too much.”
Kodi chuckled. “too much?”.
Clarie nodded rolling her eyes. “As you've noticed I come from a wealthy family”.
Kodi smirked “That still doesn't explain why you moved here. Your life sounds... perfect”.
Clarie scoffed. “Perfect? More like a nightmare” she smiled slyly. “So Kodi... I've told you a little bit about myself so.. what's your story?”.
Kodi smiled. “I'm a sled dog here in Nome, I lead a team who specialises in delivering and runnin' the mail”.
“Oh! I've heard about you guys on the radio back home.” Clarie said sounding interested. “I hear you guys also run in harsh conditions?”.
Kodi nodded. “Yep, Let me see if I can remember my team's motto....”.
Clarie now looked amused. “Your team's motto?”.
Kodi nodded. “It goes like this: neither snow, nor rain, nor sleep, nor hail shall stop the US mail!”.
Clarie laughed. “You are such a nerd."
Kodi blushed she was starting to enjoy his company, he could see that by the way she acted around him.
“Clarie!”
Clarie rolled her eyes and groaned irritated as a same cream coloured husky came dashing towards her. “Clarie where have you been? Dad's worried sick-”.
“-I'm ok Ryan. Kodi here was showing me around town” she said giving Kodi a small smile.
The husky known as Ryan chuckled nervously. “Sis, aren't you going to introduce me to your new boyfriend?”.
Kodi and Clarie both blushed at the mentioning of the word. “Kodi this is uh... my brother Ryan, he's quite a chatter box”.
Kodi smiled. “Nice to meet you man. Say... thinking of trying out for the team?”.
Ryan gave Clarie a quick deadly glare before turning back to Kodi. “Team?” he repeated with interest.
Kodi nodded. “Yeah, were looking for some strong built dogs like yourself”.
Clarie laughed. “How did you know about his obsession with sled teams?” she asked.
Kodi smirked. “Lucky guess. So Ryan... you think you got what it takes?”.
Ryan nodded quickily grinning widely. “When are tryouts?” he asked.
“Tomorrow morning.” Kodi replied.
Ryan smiled. “Well... I'll see you tomorrow then.” he said trotting off with Clarie following behind. She stopped and turned back to Kodi. “Will I see you tomorrow?”.
He smiled slightly. “You bet.” he had to know her, she was beautiful inside and out, Claire was perfect....
Soon it was dark, Balto wanted to visit the trio. He hadn't heard from them in a while, they had just got back to Nome a few days ago. “Balto buddy is that you? It's been so long!” Kaltag exclaimed.
Balto chuckled. “Good to see ya too Kal”.
Kaltag frowned. “Something on your mind?”.
“Yeah? What's up Balto?!” Star butted in. Kaltag growled angrily hitting him on the head.
Balto laughed amused. “Nothing you two need to worry about, I'm taking care of it-”.
“-Taking care of what?” Kaltag demanded.
Balto gulped. “A uh... wolf problem”.
Star gasped. “Why those low life-”.
“-No! Star it's not that. It's uh... much worse...”
Chapter 2: It Happens
Clarie's life had been full of lies, betrayal's and tragedies. Ever since her mother died, she had been feeling depressed and alone, finally all that could change, finally she had a chance of fitting in and starting a new life.
“Good morning girl!” Clarie's owner exclaimed as Clarie made her way to the kitchen that morning, she barked happily in reply.
Katherine her girl was always in a good mood. Katherine was a beautiful young girl in her 20's. She had wavy long blonde hair and always wore something pink, she took care of Ryan, Clarie and her father Marvin. They all were family too her.
“Breakfasts ready!”.
Clarie arrived at the kitchen to find Ryan and her father helping themselves to a banquet Katherine had set out. “Good morning daddy.”
Her father smiled brightly. “How's my princess?”
Clarie nodded. “Good” she replied. Her life was perfect, everyone, everything in it made it so. But she felt like she was missing something.
Her father smirked. “Ryan told me about your boyfriend”.
Clarie nearly chocked on her breakfast, she shot a deadly glare before turning back to her father “What boyfriend?”.
Her father chuckled. “I believe 'Kodi' his name was”.
Clarie rolled her eyes. “Kodi's just a friend”.
“Is he Clarie? Is he really?” Ryan asked putting a mock voice on.
Clarie sighed. “Yes Ryan, really. I'm not ready to start a relationship with anyone”.
Ryan frowned. “Sis, You can't keep thinking about the past, you have to move on”.
Marvin nodded. “Your brother's right princess” he paused for a moment before continuing. “I know your mother's death has hit you two hard, But I promise you.. things are going to be different here, you'll see”.
Clarie nodded meekly, her mother's death had struck the whole family hard. But it had a huge impact on her. “I love you dad” she said.
Marvin chuckled. “I love you too sweetheart....”.
“So there's a wolf in town, killing random dogs for no reason? Doesn't that sound odd to you?” Doc the old St Bernard said eyeing Balto and the trio suspiciously. Balto and the trio decided to get help from Doc he was the town's judge. He was responsible for every dog living in Nome.
Balto nodded. “I know it's a little last minute, but Doc lives are at stake.”
Doc sighed sadly. “What do want me to do Balto? Nothing can be done”.
Kaltag scoffed “You could investigate”.
“And call a meeting warning everyone.” Star added. With Nikki then nodding in agreement.
Balto couldn't believe Doc was being a coward. He was the judge, he thought the old St Bernard would at least try, he was letting this go? “Doc please....”
Doc groaned annoyed. “Fine. I'll figure something out. Your right, lives are at stake. This killing spree has to stop”.
“Hey you guys over here!” Kodi called. Clarie and Ryan spotted Kodi with the whole team, they had set out a obstacle course. It looked hard, too much for Ryan to handle.
“You sure you want to do this?” Claire asked worriedly.
Ryan nodded quickly. “Yeah, I can do this.” he replied.
Clarie put a paw on his shoulder. “Good luck, and be careful”.
Ryan smiled and walked towards the team. Kirby grinned. “So your the rookie Kodi's been talking about”.
Ryan smiled proudly. “I am, and I happen to be a good runner.”
Kirby smirked. “You got attitude kid, I'm liking you already!”.
“Kirb, go easy on him!” Kodi hissed angrily. He knew exactly what Kirby was doing, he was trying to make him feel bad he did it to all new members. He remembered his first day on the sled team and how it ended.
Kirby turned to Kodi and rolled his eyes. “Relax Kodiack, I know what I'm doing. You think you got what it takes?” he asked turning to Ryan.
Ryan smiled slightly “I sure do” he replied.
Kodi rolled his eyes chuckled and made his way over to Claire who watched amused. “Good morning”.
She laughed “Good morning to you too.” she said.
“Balto what can that old, good-for-nothing Judge do?!” Kaltag demanded once Balto, Star and Nikki finished the conversation with Doc.
“He's the judge Kal. He'll figure something out.” Balto replied.
Star frowned. “I hope so Balto.. these killings will get worse by the minute.”
Balto sighed. “Guys will you excuse me. I gotta go and see Jenna.”
The trio nodded. “Sure thing pal.” Kaltag said with a smirk. Balto rolled his eyes and started making his way to Rosy's house. Star and Kaltag were right Doc wouldn't do a thing. He would have to deal with this himself.
Kodi and Clarie decided to take another stroll around town, it was becoming their little hobby. “thank you for putting him on the team”.
Kodi shrugged. “Just doing something for a friend”.
Clarie laughed nudging him playfully. “Your so amusing”.
Kodi chuckled. “I am huh?”.
Clarie rolled her eyes playfully. “You know... I enjoy spending time with you”.
“Me too.” Kodi replied softly. “You seem a little disturbed this morning” he said noticing a stressed out look.
Clarie sighed. “My past has been pretty messed up. What I told you yesterday is....not all” she said. “My mother passed away last year”.
“I'm sorry to hear that.” Kodi said sadly.
Claire shook her head “Don't be” she replied softly. "It's been tough on me and Ryan. Part of the reason why we moved here was to start a new life, to get away from my old one... to never look back"
Kodi smiled sincerley. "Well.. I can assure you everything is going to change for the better Claire, I promise you that."
Kirby and the team were shocked at how Ryan went through every test they put him up against. “The rookie's got skills Kirb.” Ralph whispered.
Dusty nodded smiling. “Ralph's right. The kid's good”.
Ryan finally finished his final test, he walked towards the team. “Well... was I ok?” he asked hopefully he was puffed out.
As Kirby hated to admit it, Ryan was talented he needed to be put on the team. Mr Simpson was looking for dogs like him. He nodded slowly “Well done kid. Your in” he replied.
Ryan gasped. “Really?”.
Kirby nodded.
“Whoohoo!” Ryan exclaimed jumping up and down with joy.
Balto arrived at Rosy's place. He scratched the door, the little girl looked upset. “Balto! There you are come in!” she said anxiously.
Something was wrong Balto ran inside the house to find Jenna with no other than “Alue?”. Alue was laying on the floor wrapped in a warm blanket. “Jen what happened?”.
Jenna shook her head “I-I don't know, she came to me last night.”
Balto slowly approached her and nuzzled his daughter affectionately. “Alue? Talk to me honey?”.
Alue's eyes fluttered open, slowly “D-dad?”.
Balto smiled with tears in his eyes, he nodded.
Alue looked confused. “W-where am I?”.
Balto chuckled licking her muzzle. “Safe and sound sweety, safe and sound”. He was happy Alue was back, what pained him was she returned with severe unknown injuries.
The sun was going down fast. Claire and Kodi decided to end the day relaxing by the beach. “It's so peaceful here. Claire said.
Kodi nodded. “My mom and dad come here all the time.”
Clarie smiled. “Really?”.
Kodi smiled amused. “Oh yeah. They come down here for their secret dates”.
Clarie laughed. “Sounds like they love each other a lot.”
Kodi chuckled. “Yeah, they do”. There was something he had been meaning to ask her.
“Clarie?”.
Clarie looked at him straight in the eyes “Yes?”.
Kodi didn't know where to begin. “I uh... do you enjoy spending time with me?” he asked nervously.
Clarie nodded slowly “I do” she replied.
Kodi sighed he had to tell her “Ok here it goes” he thought. “Here's the thing... I uh...I like you”.
“I like you too” she replied simply.
“Clarie, I...”
Clarie wouldn't let him finish. She instead quickily nuzzled him affectionately. Wait? What I am doing? Kodi? I love him?
“Alue, what happened?” Balto asked.
Alue who now was recovering slowly shook her head “I don't know. I don't remember anything”.
Balto frowned. “Not anything? Nothing at all?”
Alue nodded. “All I remember is blacking out... dad you don't mind if I stay with you for a few days?” she asked hopefully.
Balto smiled. “You know your always welcome here, we've missed you”.
Alue laughed softly. “I've missed you too” she admitted.
“How long are you staying?” Jenna asked.
Alue bit her lip. “A while.” she replied.
Balto was wrong about Doc. He had been doing his own investigating, he smiled to himself, proud of his achievement. “I wouldn't smile old man”.
He gasped and before he could say a word a familiar malamute leaped at him, Doc gasped in horror “Steele?”.
Steele smirked. “Miss me?” Doc screamed as the malamute started ripping his flesh out.
Chapter 3: The Return
“Doc?” Balto called entering the boiler room. He looked down and gasped blood was on the floor, Balto gulped and stepped inside. Doc was on the floor, a puddle of blood was forming underneath him, Balto couldn't watch anymore he looked away from the site. Doc was innocent he wouldn't have hurt anybody, he was always loyal and was always trying to help.
“Dad?”.
Balto turned around to see no other than Kodi looking speechless “Kodi... I-”.
“-What happened?” Kodi asked watching Doc's lifeless body in horror.
Balto sighed. “What does it look like? Where have you been?” he demanded walking up to him.
Kodi didn't want him to know about his sudden relationship with Clarie. “I-I was with Kirby”.
Balto placed a paw on his shoulder. “Son, you should go and get some rest”.
Kodi continued to stare at Doc's terribly mangled body. “dad what happened?” he repeated shakily.
Balto wanted to keepreally Kodi away from all of this, it would cause less harm “He was murdered. Kodi please leave”.
Kodi nodded quickly walking out. Balto didn't know how he was going to tell the town this, they would need a new judge.....
“Where have you been Princess?!” Katherine exclaimed releaved Clarie had finally come home, Clarie barked and licked her cheek. And trotted over to Marvin her father, who was looking worried.
“Where have you been?” he demanded.
“I was with a friend” Clarie replied.
“A friend?” Ryan asked raising a eyebrow.
“Yes! A friend!” Clarie snapped irritated. She was getting annoyed by the fact Ryan kept questioning her about Kodi. Speaking of Kodi, she had done the thing she least expected. “I'm uh going to have a nap”.
Marvin frowned. “You ok?”.
Clarie nodded quickly “Y-yeah I'm f-fine” she said trying to not think about what happened tonight.....
The next day was like nothing happened at all. Kodi and Clarie awoke trying to forget what had taken place last night, Balto unfortunately had a tragic announcement to make, fortunately Alue was back. It had been one year since he had last seen her.
“You and Clarie? When did this happen?”.
Kodi sighed, why on earth did he tell Kirby about last night. He would just make things worse. “Last night, I don't think she wants to see me again” he replied. “Wait. How do you know her?” he asked.
Kirby scoffed “Read the paper!” he snapped.
“So.. what do I do? Let her avoid me?” Kodi suggested.
Kirby chuckled. “Give it another chance, I'm sure she'll eventually come running back”.
Kodi really didn't want to lose Clarie's friendship, he really hoped he could give her a explanation. He had a lot on his mind. He also saw Doc's dead body? What was that all about? He decided to pay his father a visit...
Kodi was right 100% about Clarie. She didn't want to hear or see him anywhere, she tried her best to avoid to him. She was terribly confused, Ryan decided a walk around town to get her mind off things. “You ok?” he asked.
Clarie nodded. “Yeah. Why wouldn't I be?”.
Ryan chuckled. “Your not a very good liar”.
Clarie nudged him playfully. Spending time with her own dear brother did clear things of her mind of things. “It's Kodi” she said.
Ryan rolled his eyes playfully “What has the 'playboy' done, besides start a bond with you?”.
Clarie sighed. “Well..I think he was about to confess his feelings for me”.
Ryan gasped. “You mean he likes you!?”.
Clarie bit her lip and nodded. “I think so. But I don't. He's cute and all but.. I'm not ready to start a relationship”.
Ryan laughed. “Sis, you gotta stop living in the past. It's about time you got another boyfriend, don't ya think?”.
Ryan was bringing up her old boyfriend Damon. He and Clarie were together for 3 years they were about to start a life together, that unfotunatley ended when she found out he was having a affair with another dog, It broke her heart. “Damon broke my heart Ryan”.
“Who says Kodi will do the same?”. Ryan had a point there.
Kodi stopped by the boiler room to see a meeting taking place. Balto was in charge “Doc's death has affected all of us greatly” he said. “But I promise you... he did not die in vain”.
The crowd hung their heads low, this wasn't a good time for a explanation, Balto looked terribly busy. Kodi waited until the meeting was over. After a few minutes it finally was. This was Kodi's chance. “Good morning son” Balto said spotting him.
Kodi walked over to him and frowned. “What was that all about?” he demanded.
Balto sighed. “With Doc dead, the town needs a new judge” he explained. “We've had a few volunteers but most of these dogs don't look like they could take it seriously”.
This was serious, Doc dead? A new judge? It was too much for anyone to handle. “Do you know who might have done this?” Kodi asked.
Balto shook his head. “I thought it was wolves before but...” his voice trailed off.
“But what dad?”.
“I think a dog did this... .”
Steele tore into a dog near the outskirts, her name was Ashley she was some dog who fell for his trap. He killed Doc, that was only the beginning. He had something much bigger planned for a certain wolf dog. Balto ruined his life, his reputation and had taken away the love of his life.
He decided to stay away from Nome for now, he would wait for his next move. He smiled to himself thinking of Ashley's screams before he killed her....
…Ashley was popular and innocent. She never would hurt anybody, she was bright, the whole town loved her. She unfortunately fell for Steele's trap “Hi there gorgeous” he said giving her a crooked smile.
Ashley smiled “Hey handsome” she replied.
Steele chuckled slyly. “You seem like a nice girl”.
Ashley giggled. “Your too kind” she said blushing.
“Wanna go for a walk?” Steele asked giving her a warm friendly smile.
Ashley couldn't refuse. He was good looking “Ok” she replied.
Steele was glad she said yes. She had fallen for his trap....
Steele chuckled to himself as the memory faded. He knew who would be next....
“Ryan what up?” Ralph said as Ryan their newest member of their sled team approached them.
Ryan smiled. “Hey Ralph”.
Dusty noticed Clarie following behind him “Who's this?” she asked with curiosity.
Clarie hadn't been introduced to the team, she had seen them but had never bothered to meet them face-to-face. “I'm Clarie, Ryan's sister” she said.
.Dusty smiled turning to Ryan. “You never mentioned you had a sister?”.
Ryan blushed talking to Dusty made him nervous. “You never brought it up” he replied.
Kirby was staring at Clarie shocked, she was Ryan's brother? It was impossible. Too good to be true. “Your kidding right?”.
Clarie smiled “No I'm not” she said. “How do you know me might I ask?”.
Kirby scoffed “Your girl Katherine's like on the newspaper non-stop. You and her are always on the front page ever since you moved here!”.
Clarie rolled her eyes ignoring his presence “You guys haven't seen Kodi around, have you?”.
The team shook their heads at the same time. “Why do you ask?” Dusty asked.
Clarie smiled sheephishly. “We uh... have a lot to talk about”.
Alue was staying with Boris and Muk and Luk. Balto had made the old boat house look more comfy than it was before. She smiled looking around. “Dad told me you were back in town”.
Alue smiled turning around to see Kodi standing by the doorway. “Yeah I am. But not for long” she replied.
Kodi chuckled lightly. "Glad your back"
Alue nodded. “It's good to be back. But like I said.. I don't know for how long”.
Kodi sighed. “Heard your the pack leader”.
Alue nodded again. “I am” she said. “That's why I can't stay long”.
Kodi sighed “Your leaving really soon aren't you?”.
Alue smiled she came up to him giving him a warm nuzzle. “It's my duty to the pack. I have to. It's not like I can stay here, I would if I could...”
Nightfall.....
Steele went into to town. He avoided dogs that went by. His targets were all talking and joking around. Steele rolled his eyes Star, Nikki and Kaltag were pathetic. He didn't know why they were apart of his group before. Kaltag and Star walked off, Nikki however stayed back and made his way to a old shed nearby.
Steele followed after him. The old shed was warm and a comfortable place to sleep in, Nikki unlike Star and Kaltag didn't have a home anymore, he had been kicked out. “What do we have here”.
Nikki gasped and turned around. There stood Steele, the malamute who tried to kill Balto. “What are youse doin' here?” he snarled.
Steele chuckled coming closer.
“Steele what do you want?” Nikki demanded backing away, Steele could sense fear.
Steele smiled evilly at the Chow Chow. “Revenge” he said softly. Then he smacked Nikki with his paw. Nikki was sent flying across the room, he landed with a thud.
Steele approached him, Nikki was struggling to get up. Steele approached him and tore into the lower part of his leg. Nikki cried out in pain.
Steele laughed he bent down to his ear. “You wanna know something Nikki?”. Nikki gulped. Steele had him, he knew he was going to kill him. “You were the worst, I never liked you”.
Steele bit down on his leg harder until it finally ripped off! His leg had been torn apart! He was dead, Steele was definitely going to kill him!

Kodi made his way back to town after spending time with Alue, she would be leaving sooner than expected. “Where have you been boy?” Mr Simpson asked patting his head.
Kodi barked and made his way to the living room where the team was waiting with grins spread on their faces. “What's going on guys?”.
“Well..” Kirby began smiling. “We have a surprise for you” he said.
Kodi smiled slightly “What supri-” Kodi froze as he spotted the dog he least expected to see.
Clarie blushed. “Hey” she said nervously.
“Hey” Kodi replied.
Kirby smiled slyly. “Guys I think we'd better give these two love birds some space”. The team sighed and walked out of the room.
“Clarie..” Kodi began once the team left the room. “I'm so sorry about the other night. I-I was stupid and-”.
“-Kodi” Clarie cut in. “I love you”.
Kodi stopped babbling “What?”. Did she just say the words he wanted to hear?
Clarie nodded slowly. “I'm ready to start a relationship if you are”.
Kodi smiled, it was a smile Clarie had never seen before. It made her feel warm and safe inside. “I love you too” he said. There noses touched once more..
