Balto woke up to hear someone yelling. He goes in Rosie's room to find Rosie crying. Balto took of his blue bandana and put it on Rosies lap. Rosie blew her nose and started to cried again. Balto then saw that Jenna wasn't home. Balto ran in the kitchen and listened to Rosie's parents talk to someone. Balto then found out where Jenna was. Balto ran out of the house and into the alley. He quietly opened a door and saw Jenna laying in bed.

" Balto" said Jenna.

" Did you have the puppies?" asked Balto.

" No" said Jenna.

" Then what is it?" asked Balto.

" I feel like I'm holding a hippo is what it is" said Jenna.

" Oh" said Balto.

" Did the vet take care of you?" asked Balto.

" Yes, they took good care of me" said Jenna.

" I almost had the puppies, but they stopped me from having them in time" said Jenna.

" So your ok?" asked Balto.

" Yes, I'm ok" said Jenna.

" Now you can stay here or go back home" said Jenna.

" I'll stay here" said Balto.

Balto then fell asleep on another bed. Jenna smiled. Jenna felt like she was going to die. She felt that much pain. Jenna then fell asleep to. The next day, it was 6:00 A.M. Kodi was awake and ready to pass out mail with his friends, Dusty, Ralph, and Kirby. Kirby then yawned. Kirby wasn't a morning dog. Kodi was always born ready. Then he saw Dusty get right next to him. Dusty smiled. Kodi smiled back, he looked away, as if he wasn't paying attention. Dusty bumped into Kodi.

" Sorry" said Dusty.

" It's ok" said Kodi.

" So Dusty, how are you?" asked Kodi.

 Kodi started to itch himself.

" I'm good" said Dusty.

" You?" asked Dusty.

" Good" said Kodi.

" Glad to hear that" said Dusty.

" I have a question" said Kodi

" Yeah" said Dusty.

" Would you like to play tag with me, Ralph, and Kirby, later?" asked Kodi.

" I love tag" said Dusty.

" That means it's a yes, right?" asked Kodi.

" Yes, it does mean yes" said Dusty.

" Well, it's time to start delievering mail" said Kodi.

" Your right" said Dusty.

The musher then yelled. Kodi started running as fast as he could. Finally they stopped. They had stopped at Kaltags house. Then they stopped again. They stopped at Dusty's house. Then, they stopped at Ralph's house. Then Kodi's house. Then Kirby's house. Then they stopped at Balto and Jenna's house. Balto smiled at Kodi. Kodi smiled back. Balto then walked back inside. Then Kodi saw his mom walking back home. Kodi could hear his mom's silent crying. Kodi ran towards his mother.

" Mom" said Kodi.

" Kodi, get Rosie" said Jenna.

" Ok" said Kodi.

Kodi started running in the house and barking. Rosie followed Kodi outside. Rosie got her mother. Rosie and her mother then got Jenna in the car. They also got in the car. Rosie's mother started to drive as fast as she could. Kodi then went to get his dad.

" Dad, Mom might be having the puppies" said Kodi.

" Oh, let's go" said Balto.

" Follow me dad" said Kodi.

Balto followed Kodi. Balto and Kodi then stopped at the vet. Balto started running inside. The nurse saw him and got Rosie's mom. Rosie's mom then waited outside the room with Balto. Rosie walked out of the bathroom. Rosie's mom went over to Rosie to talk to her. Balto knew that either the pups were here or Jenna would have to stay at the vet for a while. Suddenly, a doctor walked out of the room.

" I'm afraid that Jenna's goiing to have to stay here for a while" said the doctor.

" Oh" said Rosie's mom.

" Did she have the puppies?" asked Rosie.

" She will probably have the puppies today or tommorow" said the doctor.

" We will have to find out as the day goes by" said the doctor.

" Ok, thank you" said Rosie's mom.

Rosie got in the car with Balto. Balto started to think why she was feeling like she has a hippo in her. Or about why Jenna keeps hurting so much. Balto then thought more. But Balto just couldn't think of what was happening. Finally, the car stopped. Balto jumped out of the car. Balto was going to go to sleep when he got inside. Balto just thought he'd had enough of it for today. Balto then thought he should go home to his boat to take a nap. Balto then jumped on the boat.

" Hello, Balto" said Boris.

" Hello" said Balto.

" Whats the matter with you?" asked Boris.

" I had a hard day today" said Balto.

" What happened?" asked Boris.

" Jenna almost had the puppies three times at least" said Balto.

" I can't believe I'm going to be an uncle again" said Boris.

" Boris, I think you'll be an uncle again today or tommorow" said Balto.

" Really?" asked Boris.

" That's what the doctor said" said Balto.

" Yes" said Boris.

Balto smiled then went to bed. Later at 5:00 P.M. , Boris woke up Balto. Balto looked at Boris and sighed. Balto then got up and yawned. Balto started to walk near Boris. Balto then looked at all the houses around Nome. Balto sighed. Balto thought Nome and Jenna were the most beautiful things in the world. But then Boris splashed water on Balto.

" Boris" said Balto.

" I've been trying to tell you something" said Boris.

" What?" asked Balto.

" A dog just came by and said Jenna just had her puppies" said Boris.

" I'm coming Jenna" said Balto.

" I'm coming too" said Boris.

Balto and Boris started running towards Nome. Balto had to stop for Boris to catch up. Then Balto started runnning as fast as he could just to see the puppies. Balto then waited at the vet's door so someone could open it. The doctor opened the door and smiled. Balto then walked quietly in the room. Jenna smiled. Boris smiled too. Balto walked over to the bed and Jenna. He saw little puppies moving around.

" Their beautiful" said Balto.

" Can you count them?" asked Jenna.

" One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight" said Balto.

" Eight puppies?" asked Boris.

" Yes, eight puppies" said Balto.

Boris then fell down. Balto laughed. Jenna then nuzzled Balto. Balto smiled. Two puppies were blondish-brownish colored. The rest of them were red. Jenna smiled again. Balto smiled back at her. To Balto, this was a dream. He had everything he could ask for. Balto then left the room. Boris started to laugh. Boris jumped up and down. Balto laughed.

" I'm an uncle of eight puppies" said Boris.

" And I'm the father of the eight puppies" said Balto.

" It's a little weird that none of the puppies look like Aleu" said Boris.

" I was thinking the same thing" said Balto.

" Look it's that horrible thing again" said Boris.

" It's just carvings, Boris" said Balto.

" Still, are you having dreams again?" asked Boris.

Balto looked at Boris. He did not like talking about his dreams or Aleu. Losing Aleu had hurt Balto alot. But his daughter had found the right home for herself. So Balto was ok with it. Then Balto and Boris passed  Kodi and his friends. Kodi then ran towards Balto. Kodi smiled.

" Hi dad" said Kodi.

" Hi" said Balto.

" I heard mom had the puppies" said Kodi.

" Yup, she had eight of them" said Balto.

" Really?" asked Kodi.

" Yup" said Balto.

" That's cool" said Kodi.

" Well, bye" said Kodi.

" Bye" said Balto.

Balto and Boris walked away. Balto jumped on his boat. Boris could tell Balto was tired. Boris went to get Balto's blanket. Boris put the blanket around. Balto smiled. Boris smiled back at him. Balto then closed his eyes and fell asleep. Kodi was playing with Kirby. Dusty then walked over toward Kodi and Kirby. Dusty smiled at Kodi. Kodi wasn't paying attention though. Dusty sighed. Why couldn't Kodi see that I liked him? thought Dusty.

" Hey, I'll see you later, Ralph" said Kodi.

" I'll see you later, Dixie" said Dusty.

Kodi and Dusty turned around at the same time.

Dusty and Kodi accidently kissed.

" I'm sorry" said Dusty.

" Yeah, me too" said Kodi.

" I . . . I . . . um" said Dusty.

" I love you" said Kodi.

" You do?" asked Dusty.

" I do" said Kodi

" I love you, too" said Dusty.

Kodi smiled. Dusty smiled back. Dusty then surprised Kodi. Dusty nuzzled him. Kodi nuzzled her back. Kodi and Dusty then walked home together. Dusty said Bye. Kodi said Bye, too. Later the next day, Dusty and Kodi met eachother again. Dusty started to play tag with Ralph and Kodi. Kodi smiled. Dusty nuzzled Kodi. Kodi smiled again.

" So, we are mates now, right?" asked Kodi.

" Yeah" said Dusty.

" Now let's play tag again" said Dusty.

" Your it" said Ralph.

Kodi smiled. Kodi finally told Dusty that he loved her. And Dusty became his mate. Kodi was so happy. Then Ralph came towards Kodi again. Ralph then decided to tag Kirby, since he was here. Kodi then saw Kaltag coming towards him.  Kaltag waved his paw at Kaltag. Kodi snapped out of it.

" Oh, hi Kaltag" said Kodi.

" Hello, Kodi" said Kaltag.

" I hear your mates with Dusty" said Kaltag.

" Well, good luck" said Kaltag.

" Thanks" said Kodi.

Kodi saw that the sun was going down. Kodi realized it was time to go home. Kodi said bye to Kirby, Ralph, and Dusty and left. Kodi felt something wet drop on him. He saw it was raining. Kodi then started to run and run as fast as he could. He got home. He walked inside a layed under the table. Kodi heard his owner yelling. He ran in his owner's room.

" Kodi !" said Kodi's owner.

Kodi jumped on his owners bed. His owner snuggled up with Kodi. Kodi smiled. Kodi then got very sleepy. Kodi realized his owner had fallen asleep. Kodi smiled. Kodi then got out of his owner's arms and layed on the ground. Kodi then fell asleep, too.
