CHAPTER 1
*Cough Cough* I awoke on a wet bank near a river. My eyes stung from the smoke, it was hard to breathe, and my body felt so weak. I managed to stand up an look around. My mother lay motionless, next a bloodstain rock. My sisters body floated in the near by river. My head was ringing. I couldn't pick up the peices to what had happened here. I stumbled, trying to walk over to my beloved home. The beautiful scent of love and peace had disappeared from here. I turned slowly from the sight to see a large figure standing on a nearby cliff. He grinned at me, while other wolves started appearing next to him. I stepped back slowly, keeping my eyes on him. He began to chuckle and then said to me loudly
Figure: Get out of my new territory!
Me: I - I - No this is my home.
Figure: Not any more. Leave or I'll kill you myself!
Why can't I rember?! Why can't I rember my life? What happened here? I kept thinking as I looked down at my paws...i couldn't move...I wouldn't. Something told me to stay here...you belong here. Then the figure said
Figure: You have until the count of three. One. Two.
Me: I'm not leaving.
Figure: Kill her!
Four wolves came charging down the cliff at me. I kept looking and thinking. Now, I've got to run. I took off, like a shot of lightning, I I looked behind me, they were fast, and trying to kill me,I looked back ahead. Trying to decide.... go back into the smoke or run the river bank. I ran a straight line down the river bank then made a sharp turn back into the smoke filled woods. One of the wolves couldn't keep up and fell into the rushing river. As I tried to peer through the smoke, I felt myself feeling stronger, my body was pulsing. Then before i could see it, I dodged a larg tree unknowingly. Then i heard a loud smack, one of the wolves hit the tree. Only two left...and I was going to take them on in a battle to the death. I kept running until I saw that the smoke was letting up, i could smell again, but this wasn't a scent that struck me. It was way to different. I ran far from where I knew I was raised. The air was cold and heavy, the land seemed to be freezing underneath my warm paws. I kept running, then I almost slid off the cliff. I caught myself and looked back. I kept thinking...I could use this to my advantage. The two persuers came running around the corner. One stepped and snarled at me
One: Enough running! We can kill you here!
Me: Let's se you try!
The wolf leaped at me, I slid down as he jumped, I lunged up and grabbed him by the neck as I held him up his commerad came at me and bit me on my neck. I stumlbed backwards towards the cliff. My claws scratched off some pebbles. A huge burst of energy made me swing the wolf in my mouth into his friend. The wolves whinned. They landed on top of each other, as they scurried to their feet I walked away from the edge. My neck was burning bad. The pain made me stumble. When I wasn't looking one wolf jumped towards my chest. To dodge it I rolled over on my side. The wolf went spiriling over cliff to the fast past river. As I stood and looked over the other knocked me over the cliff. He sunk hi teeth into my side and wasn't letting go. As the wind hit my face, I thought, the wind, use the wind! As another gust pushed us I flipped myself. Putting the other wolf towards the jagged rocks below the river. We hit water, I felt that wolf's gripp loosen on impact. I grabbed on to a muddy river bank. My body was aching but I managed to pull myself out. I panted as my legs trembled and my heart raced. I said to myself
Me: I did it!
As I looked up, I noticed, I defenitely wasn't home anymore. This place looked like winter was on the way. How long was I running? Days? I was far from home. BUt maybe I need a fresh start until I can rember what happened. As I started walking, I couldn't shake this feeling of, what the hell should I do now?
CHAPTER 2
A cold wind woke me up today. As I looked outside of some den I was in I saw A group of four wolves. A large black male wolf with blue and red markings, A medium sized white male wolf with blue and black markings, A black yellow and purple female, and a white red and grey male wolf. I was afraid to approach them, but i had no choice. I was too weak to survive on my own at this point. As I took some shaken steps out the burrow, the big male caught sight of me. He just kept staring at me, like I was interesting. Then I caught a glimpse of the smaller white one with black and blue markings. He started walking near me,
White Wolf: Hi.
Me: Hi.
White Wolf: I'm Ari...what's your name?
Me: Sarafina.
Ari: Pretty name.
Black Wolf: Back Off Ari. You're not the alpha I welcome all new comers...rember that!
I watched as Ari lowered his happily perked ears but kept a smile on me.
Black wolf: I'm Theo. Please to meet you.
Me: Likewise.
Theo: You look tired.
Me: Had a run in with some other wolves.
Theo: Oh. Too bad we didn't find you sooner.
The grey and white and red wolf interrupted Theo as he began stepping closer to me
White Wolf: I'm Agni!!! And you're so pretty!!
The only female in the group spoke up
Black Wolf: Don't mind them, their just males.I'm Siam. It's reaaly nice to meet you. Come on, lets see if we can get some of those wounds taken care of.
Me: Thank you.
Siam: No problem.
As Theo walked over to support my body, Ari started running over to help too. Siam led the way back to their territory. I slipped from the embrace of the teo of them and backed up slowly just to turn around and feel Agni's nose sniffing me.
Me: Hey!
Theo interveined by growling at Agni. Agni stepped back, rolled over, and showed his belly for submission. Siam nodded for me to go into the den. The scent of friends hit me like a bullet. Finally, I found a peaceful place where I could live.
That night, the others went out to hunt but me and Ari. Ari was laying on the outside of the den. I looked at him, he was so well built and he had the sweetest personality. He was the only one who approached me at first. I was starting to like Ari. I finally could move well again, as I shifted my body Ari's ears twitched. I got up and walked out the den and fell on him. Ari turned and started to smile at me.
Ari: Well, look who's up and moving around.
Me: Hi Ari.
Ari: Any reason why you're on top of me?
Me: Didn't mean to be.
Ari: It's ok....I kind of like it.
Then Ari lifted his head. He was watching some fireflies dance in the sky.
Ari: Would you like to see the rest of the territory with me?
I nodded to him. I stepped off him and he got up. He smiled at me. Those eyes seemed to burn through me, I loved the feeling. We walked down to a monsterous sound.
Ari: This is my favorite spot!
Me: Why?
Ari: Just keep walking.
We steeped down some slippery rocks to a grassy plain. He laid down.
Ari: Well? Come on lay down.
I laid down smiling at him. Then the sun began to rise. The sky seemed to turn into flames as the rays hit my fur. When I looked back at Ari,he had been staring at me. I kept blushing.
Me: What?
Ari: You are so beautiful
My ears folded back as I felt my heart racing.My body was heating up as Ari leaned into me. I pushed myself under Ari's chin. I nuzzled him so closely that I didn't notice him lnibbling on my ear.
Theo: Hey You Two Down There!
Ari and I turned around to see Theo and the others. Theo seemed to be a little agitated with our nuzzling. Siam and Agni had their ears folded back snickering at us. Ari got up slowly.
Theo: The food's back at the home stay. Come On.
When we returned Ari and I shared many looks with each other. But then Theo would look at me or speak to me and I would start looking at Theo. Although Ari was extremely romantic and was a good build. Theo was gorgeous, he had everything that a female wanted. The looks, the charm, the body, and the rank. Ari only had three of these. Theo allowed me to eat first, then he had the rest of them settle down to say something.
Theo: I've been talking with the other members and we would like you to stay with the pack....
Me: Really?
Theo: Yes. I haven't chosen the alpha female yet but you and Siam are in the running.
Me: Siam, I'm sorry.
Siam: For what? I don't mind. I actually like having another female in the pack.
I smiled at her and then looked at Ari. Ari winked at me but then looked at Theo. I took a glance at Theo as I leaned down to eat. He was staring at me and was flicking his tail over mine. Looks like I've got two guys on my tail.
In the late afternoon, everyone was asleep. I was resting in the den again. I kept having weird dreams. Flashes of things. I got up and ran into a still river. I saw my mother standing running behind me then a familiar face appeared. A black wolf with a white lip smiled with blood stained teeth at my mother. My mother pushes me into a rock. As flames and smoke cover me I go unconscieous.
Me: *gasping* What the-
I look around me, nothing but dirt.
Me: Was that a memory...or just a nightmare?
I got up slowly and walked outside, as I shifted pass a large rock, Theo jumped in front of me.
Theo: Hey Sarafina.
Me: Hi.
Theo: Come with me to mark our territory.
I walked passed him and pushed my tail to his nose.Theo smiled with a heavy breath. Theo walked next to me bumping me playfully. As I growled at him he did it again but harder. Then I jumped on him knocking over. He jumped up and chased me through some tall grass and pounced on me. He was laying on top of me and was staring into my eys. He leaned in and kissed me. His kiss was so deep and so powerful in a sense. I felt myself wanting it more and more. Theo pulled back and looked up at the blazing sky for sunset. We had been gone for a while, longer than we should've been.
Theo: Well time really does slip away...this is where I want to be.
Me: What do you mean?
Theo: Winter is coming and I will soon have to choose. I want to always be near you Sarafina.
I motioned from underneath him and sat up. I felt like I was falling for him ,but I kept thinking about Ari.
Me: We should go back. The pack will be looking for us soon.
Theo: You're right.
Theo and I walked back without any words or playful jestures towards each other. Theo howled and called for Siam, Ari, and Agni to follow for the hunt.
Me: And me?
Theo: You watch over the home stay, only for today, we rotate.
Me: Oh ok.
I jumped up onto the large rock as the pack moved out. I watched as the sun went down, I drifted into sleep. Not too long since I was asleep. I was tackled by something. I opened my eyes ready to fight.
Me: Ari!
Ari: Hey.
Me: Why are you here? You're suppose -
Ari moved foward and kissed me. His kiss had so much passion and I didn't want to let go. Ari jumped down from the rock backing up kind of shyly. I started motioning towards the den. I turned and looked back at him and winked. Ari came after me cautiously. Ari and I locked lips agin this time it was greater and filled with more love. Ari laid me down and started kissing me agian. My body started to burn with love as bits of pain hit me like little needles. Ari let go of our kiss and stepped from over me and smiled.
Ari: Sarafina....you have know idea why I did that, fo you?
Me: Um because you like me.
Ari: I think it's more than that.....Sarafina I love you.
I was shocked as I motioned back to my side looking at him. Ari's eyes didn't seem to lie. He felt so trustworthy and loving towards me.
Me: Really?
Ari: Yes.
I wanted to say the same to him but I couldn't. Tears started streaming from my eyes.
Ari: It's ok...I don't want you to feel pressured into saying it, but from what we just did I could feel it.
I nodded to him.
Ari: Well I better catch back up to the pack, we're having moose for dinner.
CHAPTER 3
I decided after what happened between Ari and I, I should tell Theo that i don't want to be his mate...it was obvious I loved Ari. As I got up I saw Siam running to me.
Siam: Come!!
Me: What's wrong?
Siam: Bear!! We need the whole pack!
We ran until I saw Theo biting at the bear's muzzle. As I stared at the bear, images began flashing in my head. Images of me meditating and my body glowing. Then I heard a yelp. Theo had been scratched by the bear on his side. Ari ran iin front of the bear so it would focus on him instead. The bear raised it's paw at Ari. Theo struggled to his feet. Before I knew it I was rushing in front of both of them. I leapt and grabbed a hold of it's muzzle.I sunk my teeth deeper into it's snout until it managed to slap me off. I flipped and landed on my feet. A peice of skin was hanging in my jaws. My body began to glow, I charged the bear and grbbed his neck. The force pushed him backwards knocking him into the tree. I jumped off and growled, as my body lit up again I grabbed it's neck again but this time I pulled out his wind pipe and jugular. With blood dripping from my jaws I landed and spit out the bones and muscels. The bear fell foward and crshed. I looked behind me and smiled, my body went limp again but I recovered quicker. Siam and the others were staring at me.
Siam: How- How the hell did you do that?
Me: I don't know....something came over me I guess.
Agni: Beauty and smarts.....total package.
Theo: Thank You Ari. Also many thanks to you Sarafina.
Ari: Yeah.
I nodded to everyone with a smile. But I kept thinking to myself....those memories....am I some type of super wolf....A Shadow Wolf? I caught Theo staring at me again. Saim, Agni, and I drug the moose back to the home stay. While Ari walked with Theo. Theo went into his own under ground den near the rock. After we fed him and the pack ate we all settle down for a nice snooze. I woke up in the middle of the night....I kept thinking I need to tell Theo. As I walked down into Theo's den, he greeted me half way through.
Theo: Hello Sarafina.
Me: How'd you know it was me?
Theo: Your scent and how light you walk?
Me: How light I walk?
Theo: Yes everyone has a certain density to their walk....you're very light on your feet. I talent indeed.
I starte to blush again as Theo started twirling my tail.
Me: I need to tell you-
Theo: Whatever it is it can wait.
Theo pushed his body into mine and he began to kiss me. I fell back with the weight of his body pressing on me. A sharp pain returned to my body but with less love or passion. Theo was just pure strength. I got up with pain burmning inside me. I stood looking back at him thinking....the feeling was different....I don't love Theo. Theo was smiling at me. I turned without a word and walked out. I went looking for Ari, who wasn't with the rest of the pack. I walked, following his scent, until I found himat a river bank. Images began to flash to me as I stood there. Ari wa sin them. When we we were puppies, we played, and chased after butterfiles. Then a flash happened again, Ari was nuzzling me as he stepped back he licked my cheek. He folded his ears back and walked to follow a large pack. My head was banging wih these memoris. Was that my first love Ari? No....they said he died in the journey. Can it be? I walked to him and placed myself into his chest. His heart neat was strong and prominent.
Me: Ari.
Ari: Yes Sarafina.
Me: Where did you grow up?
Ari: Near a large river that spilled out into a lake with large oak trees that cleared out for the majestic river.
I kept thinking, that's my home stay.
Me: Did you know me? Before you knew me?
Ari: Yes. I was just waiting for you to come around. You were my first love but we were seperated when half the pack decided to leave the home stay becaus eof the wolf that was taking over.
Me: H- Ari. they said you died. Why?
Ari: I wnt looking for a way for us to mmet again without getting caught and ended up being attacked by a bear. Theo and the others found me and made me apart of their pack.
Me: That's why I fell four you so quickly. I couldn't figure out why but when I saw you sitting by the ricver my memories came rushing back to me
Ari: Good now I can do this.
Ari pulled back and kissed me so gently. Once again those burning love like sensation beemed through me when I laid on my back with the tiny pain lingering in me but wasdrowned out by Ari's warm love filled kisses. The net morning the sun greeted me with warm rays. Ari knocked me into the new snow. We played all the way back to the homestay. Theo howled calling back all the others.
Theo: The new Alpha female is........Sarafina.
My heart dropped at what my ears had heard. And looking at Ari's face, so did his. Theo kept smiling at me.
Ari: I'll fight you for your rank.
Theo: What?
Ari: I love her.
Theo: What makes you think she loves you?
Me: I do love Ari.... I love you Ari.
Ari: I challenge you.
Theo: Fine then.
The wolves began to size each other up. I flashed out to an old wolf standing thn saying, " You're a Shadow Wolf, You are the mist, use your newly formed powers wisely. He will destroy everything. Then my mother appeared, "It's just a matter of time before he finds you, you must find him first, or he'll come looking for you. " I flashed back into the fight. Ari had pinned Theo and had him by the neck. He had won the fight. Ari was now the Alpha male...and willingly I was the Alpha Female. Theo bowed his head and stepped to the spot of Beta. Ari jumped on the rock and howled showing his dominance. Ari ran down and tackled me and licked my lips.
Ari: My alpha female....I love you.
Me: I love you too.
Theo stood up and stared at us. Ari looked and stood up ready to fight once more. Then without a word Theo turned and began walking to the river bank. Siam ran and jumped in his path.
Siam: Where are you going?
Theo: Once I lose. I leave. I will be Alpha male, so I'm going off on my own 'til I am
Ari: You don't have to Theo....please.
Theo didn't look back, he just limped down the river bank. We waited and watched until his figure disappeared into the fog. I turned back to Ari who seemed sad that Theo just walked off. I nozzled Ari as he breathed heavy. But he gave me a faint smile as Siaam and Agni turned to us as the leaders. Siam smiled and winked at me as we bumped heads as our new greeting.
Siam: Good, are we close friends now?
Me: How can I not be close to the one that helped me get along with the guys.
We smiled and laughed together as if we had been friends for generations.
CHAPTER 4
Theo fell, after six days of travel his body was tired and he couldn't roam any further. A large figure began to shadow the faintly breathing wolf.
Figure: Well well well, look what we have here.
Theo looked up slowly. A large white wolf stood over him, with a crooked smile on his face. He had three scratches that covered one of his eyes. He two matching scrathes on both sides of his neck. Theo began to tremble.
Theo: Kataca.
Kataca: Glad you know who I am. Because I know who you are.
Theo: You do?
Kataca: Yes.You are an outsider.A rebel wolf that is against me.
Theo: No-I -No I decided to leave ad come to you. I was beaten badly by my pack because of my decision. And they kicked me out.
Kataca: You were the leader. Which means you're strong. Once wounds have healed you become a General for me, and we'll take back your territory.
Theo: Thank you.
Kataca: No.I wish to reign, only me...no other leaders will exist! hahahaha!
Theo got up slowly and growled under his breathe, " Now I'll get my revenge!"
CHAPTER 5
With a full belly full of meat I stepped into my new den, as an Alpha. Night had come and the pack was tired. I curled up under Ari. My dreams were vivid and strong. My conscienus wore on my heart. What I had did withTheo, just to know if I loved Ari wasn't right....and my spirit wasn't at ease. I needed to tell him. I loved him too much not to. Then flashes again. My mother showed that figure again standing over my mother and me, then blood dripped and we drowned in it.Siam was here this time. Siam and I were fishing in a river, and my older sister came and knocked us in. I was drowning, my head dropped into the water. Siam swam underneath me and pulled me back up to the surface. She saved my life. I jumped up out of my dream.
Me: *gasping* What- What does that mean? Could she be a sister or another old friend? And the blood?
I got up from under a sleeping Ari and walked out of the den. I howled to the moon high in the sky.My pack members swayed out of their sleeping areas.
Agni: Why did you call us up?
Ari: I'd like to know too.
Me: Do any of you know of a wolf with it seems like hundred of followers that is taking over packs and territory?
Siam: Kataca.
Me: SO that's his name. I've met him, killed his followes, and have run from him. That's how we all met.
Siam: I was taken from my home and family because of him.
Ari: Sarafina and I were split up because of his actions.
Me: Exactly so we all want revenge. I must go and reclaim my mother's territory....so her spirit will be at ease. It's my destiny.
Siam: What?! There's only four of us!
Ari: It wouldn't be wise Sarafina.
Agni: Have you freaking lost your mind! He has an army! We barrely have a pack!
Me: I never said all of you must come. It is my destiny and mine alone. None of you have to come, but I'm leaving tonight.
After a long silence and no one really looking each other in the eye. I breathed heavy and turned to face the river bank. I took one step and Ari spoke.
Ari: Where ever you go I'm coming. Kataca will pay for destroying what we had at first.
Siam: Revenge will be ours together....sister.
Me: Sister?!
Siam: Yes. Our mother adopted me when we were still very young....my mother, father, siblings, and pack was taken from me thanks to Kataca and she found me in an abonden den.
Me: I knew I use to know you. I dreamed of you saving me from drowning.
Siam:That's no dream, I did! We were out fishing.
Me: My memory...it's coming back again.
Siam raced up and hugged me. We bumped heads again as a new greeting. I looked at Ari and I looked at Siam. Then we began heading down to the riverbank. Then Agni was seen running behind us.
Agni: Hey! I'm coming to!
We laughed as we stopped and waited for him to catch up. As we ran I thought to myself Kataca I'm coming for you.....as a Shadow Wolf I swear it!
Next Time!
Sarafina and her pack begin their journey to Kataca's large and expanding territory. Althougth their spirits are highthey know what their up against. On their first stop in the territory of White Tip, a rouge male's territory, with a pack with at least twenty eight members they run into big trouble. Can they convinve White Tip that they are friends or will they suffer a terrible death by the claws of others. Find out Next time in
