***Names and personalities of puppies provided by Malwolsky, the winner of my contest!!!***        (Kedroo belongs to Wolf in the Sky.)   Caroline is a public character.

One lovely day in the afternoon, something wonderful happened in a husky breeder's pet store. There was a litter of six gorgeous puppies, wiggling and sniffing around for their mother. "Well, it looks like we've got ourselves some little beauties!" said the breeder to his wife. "Look at 'em go!" The proud mother looked down at her beautiful pups, and was happy with them.
A few weeks later, the puppies were up and about , but there was something strange about them; they were all different colors! One was green, another blue, a purple one, a yellow, a red pup, and an aqua! The breeder looked down at his 'little beauties' with a look of disappointment. "These dogs will never sell!" he boomed. His wife picked up the purple pup, and told her husband, "Just give them a chance. I'm sure someone would want a colorful puppy!" She put the purple pup down, and the puppy ran to her sister, the blue pup. "Did you see that lady? She likes me! Go run to her and she'll like you too!" The blue pup was giving her sister a hard gaze. "Nah, I'm too tired. Besides, loving your breeder is too childish anyway."
A few more weeks passed, and the pups were beginning to show their personalities. The breeder's wife had given them all names based on their color. These are the pups.
Green girl pup: Named Zielony: A good hunter.
Blue girl pup: Named Niebeiski: Wise and serious
Purple girl pup: Named Lilla: Funny and positive
Yellow boy pup: Named Galben: Speedy
Red boy pup: Named Verkko: Romantic
Aqua boy pup: Named Krikland: Smart
The puppies were growing bigger, and the breeder kept reminding his wife of the rule: If the pups aren't sold in two years, they will be put down.
"Mama!" cried Niebeiski. "Yes, girl?" replied her mother. "Mr. Smith says that he's gonna kill us if we don't find homes!" The mother is shocked, and tells Niebeiski to get her brothers and sisters. Niebeiski gets her siblings, and her mother begins to speak to all of them. "Kids, you can't stay here. The breeder wants to kill you all, so you cannot stay here." Galben speaks up. "But, but what if we can't find food?" The mom tells Galben that Zielony will provide for everybody, since she is a born hunter. Lilla says, "Guys, Mom is only thinking of us. We probably should go..." The pups were considerably bigger now, so they were able to fend for themselves. That night, the siblings all talked it over. "Maybe Mom's right." says Krikland, the aqua pup. "Why should we leave our home without a fight?" says Niebeiski. "We can take 'em!" Zielony gives Verkko a look and says, "Verkko, you're the convincing one! You're the red pup! You convince mom to let us stay!" Verkko yells back at his sister, "Well, it's not her decision anyway! It's up to us!" Lilla, being the positive one, tells her brother, Verkko, "Well, if we go, we can start an entire new life! We can be like wolves, living in a pack together! We have everything we need right here, in each other." The pups discussed it some more, and they decided to go.
The small dogs say goodbye to their loving mother, and head for the woods on the edge of the town. It was getting later in the night, and they were all hungry. They voted that Zielony should be the one to hunt, and that hour, they had a young moose feast. "This is actually pretty good, Zielony! Nice job!" praises Lilla. "You're just lucky that I didn't hunt one of you guys." Zielony warns. They had to find some shelter for the night, so they voted that Krikland, the smart aqua pup, should find them a place to stay. "Hey! Look at this!" shouted Krikland. He had found a small burrow that had recently been abandonned. They all tried to climb in, but since Niebeiski, the blue pup, was the chosen leader of their pack, she had to stay outside and keep watch.
In the middle of the night, Niebeiski had fallen asleep, but she heard a loud thud near her tail. "Who goes there?!" she snarled. She bared her teeth at the intruder. He was a great brown wolf with a red scar over his eye. "Oh, I'm sorry, little one. I didn't mean to startle you." apologized the wolf. Niebeiski was definitely much smaller than this giant monster. Niebeiski spoke up. "Who are you and what are you doing in our territory?!" she screamed. The giant lowered his head and growled. "This is not your territory, mutt! Nobody owns this land but me and my pack, and you're trespassing. I'm going to have to get rid of you." Niebeiski was furious now, so she jumped on the wolf and ripped his ear. The bigger wolf threw her off and was about to bite her neck when an aqua flash of fur ran and clamped down on his foot. "ARROOOOOOOOOO!" cried the wolf as he tried to get the raging ball of fire off of his foot. Then, yellow, red, green, and purple flashes all were trying to tear the wolf apart. "Niebeiski! Run!" cried Lilla. The blue pup ran into the burrow, but then she remembered that she was the leader and her siblings were being attacked by a wolf! She bolted back outside, but the pups weren't attacking the wolf anymore. "I'm sorry, little pup." said the wolf. "I misjudged how well you have trained your pack. You must be a great leader." Niebeiski was confused, but then Galben, the yellow dog, cleared it all up. "His name is Kedroo. He's the leader of a pack too, but he says that his pack isn't nearly as well trained as ours." When Galben was finished, Zielony said, "I'm going back to sleep now." she climbed into the hole and fell asleep.
Krikland was furious with his sister, Niebeiski. He had saved her life, but she never thanked him one bit. No one did. If he hadn't been there, they all would have been wolf food! The next day is when Krikland began to think this. Everyone was praising Niebeiski for protecting them, even though it was a team effort. Kedroo was now helping Zielony hunt for food, since Kedroo was bigger than all of them. But, one day, when Zielony and Kedroo were out hunting, tragedy struck. A group of foxes were out looking for breakfast. A good sized fox could easily take down a half grown husky, so Niebeiski warned the family to get down and stay down. Galben was afraid, Niebeiski was concerned, Verkko was having a spazz attack, and Lilla was not being so positive. "We're all gonna die!!! I don't wanna die!!!" Lilla wasn't being very funny either. Niebeiski was getting ready for something, but nobody knew what. She was eyeing the foxes, looking at them with flames in her eyes. Suddenly, Niebeiski gave out a battlecry. "AY AY AY AY AY AY AY AY AY!!!!!" She charged, so the rest of them followed, except Krikland. He was beginning to hate Niebeiski for soaking up all the praise and attention. He should have been the leader! He was the smartest one out of the group, and Niebeiski was too daring. She could have gotten the pack killed a number of times. "Why should I play second in my own family?" he whispered to himself. "I'm the best one in the entire pack! I should be leader!" When Niebeiski and the pack got back from the fight with the foxes, Krikland asked to speak to her alone. They went out side while the other pups stayed in the burrow. Krikland spoke first. "Niebeiski, let me get straight to the point... goodbye!" Krikland sprinted out of sight, but Niebeiski followed. "Wait Krikland! Waaaaait!" Krikland slowed down, and Niebeiski came up to him. "Why are you leaving?" "You never appreciate me! You were made the leader when I should be!" With that, Krikland ran at top speed away from the burrow.
Zielony seemed to be the one most upset. Her and Krikland were two peas in a pod. Everyone was grieving because they knew that he would never survive on his own. Lilla tried her best to comfort Zielony, but it was no use. She started to spend most of her time with Kedroo, since Krikland was gone. Galben was afraid for him, and Verkko was the most angry at Niebeiski. They stumbled through each day without him, and the pack was sad and mourning. Galben took Niebeiski outside to talk to her. "Why did you let Krikland run away like that?" He told her. Niebeiski defended herself the best she could. "It wasn't my fault! I never forced him to leave!" Since Krikland was gone, that made Verkko the smartest. He was more of the girl-liking type, but they figured he was good enough. The group, including Kedroo, tried to forget about Krikland, which they eventually did. Niebeiski noticed that Zielony kept getting more and more tired every day, and she eventually stopped hunting with Kedroo. Niebeiski asked Zielony what was wrong, and she said, "I can't believe you would actually allow one of our own siblings to go like that." The blue dog widened her eyes at this response. Zielony kept going, "You should step down from being the leader!" "SHUT UP YOU!" Niebeiski smacked her sister across the face.
Niebeiski had just realized what she had done. Zielony stared at her sister, her face scarred. Niebeiski tried to apologize, but her mouth wouldn't move. Without a word, Zielony bolts out and into the woods. Niebeiski could only watch as her sister left forever, never to be seen again. The next day, everyone was deep in sorrow. Lilla was trying to cheer everyone up, but it was no use. Galben was hysterical, saying,"Niebeiski, how could you let that happen again?!" The big blue dog stared at him and shook her head solemnly. "I wasn't me! Well..." It was her fault and she knew it. Galben was afraid that he would be drawn out of the pack by Niebeiski, so he left. He crawled into the burrow which they made bigger so they could fit. She was sitting outside by herself when she said to the stars, "What have I done?"
About a month later, everyone was feeling a bit better, except Niebeiski. She took Zielony's advice and stepped down as leader. Galben was made leader, since he was now the toughest. Every dog left in the pack, including Kedroo, went to Galben for advice. "When should I start hunting, Galben?" asked Kedroo. "Where can I put this fish?" asked Lilla. "What time can I get the water from the river, Galben?" asked Verkko. Galben was overwhelmed with leadership. Every question was spinning around in his head like a bee hive, and he felt like he was sweating blood. His heart pounded faster and faster, leaving behind a sharp breath of air with every beat. A voice in his mind shouted, "You're the leader now, if they get hurt, it's all your fault. BUAHAHAHAHA!" Suddenly, without warning, Galben lept off his rock and headed for the woods. The yellow canine bounded away and screamed, "I CAN'T TAKE THIS!"
With Galben gone, there was no one to lead. Since Niebeiski stepped down, and Galben was gone, and so were Zielony and Krikland, everything was chaos.
Some were leaving the den and finally coming back the next morning. When they were asked where they were, they wouldn't tell them. Kedroo was never around anymore, and Verkko always came back covered in kiss-marks. Lilla was usually home, and Niebeiski became the gaurd of their home. The wasn't much to gaurd, really. One day, when Verkko was sneaking out at night again, Niebeiski followed him to see where he was going. First, he headed for the river for a drink of water. "Nothing suspicious." Niebeiski thought to herself. Since they were alot older now, and were about two years old each, she guessed he was allowed to go wherever he wanted. But when he disappeared behind a tall stump, she moved closer to get a better look. Niebeiski couldn't believe her eyes. There was her brother, straddling himself over a female. He lowered himself towards the female, and that's when Niebeiski turned away. She couldn't see any more of this. She couldn't bear it. When Niebeiski turned to leave, her foot snapped a twig. "Oh no..." She thought. Suddenly, a flash of red was running past her, followed by a smear of gray. When Niebeiski lifted her head, she saw Verkko and his girlfriend standing over her. Verkko walked closer and whispered angrily, "What are you doing here?" Niebeiski said, "I should be asking you the same question! How could you sneak out just to... you know!" Verkko's girlfriend spoke up. "I'm sorry, you must feel awful. By the way, my name is Caroline. I'm sorry, you must be Verkko's mate." Niebeiski and Verkko yelled at the same time, "We're not mates! We're siblings!" Caroline dropped her beautiful head in shame as Niebeiski took Verkko home. Verkko objected immediately to going home. "I'm not leaving Caroline! I love her! Also, she's... well... gonna have puppies soon." Niebeiski just nodded her head and left the two in silence.
There were only Niebeiski and Lilla left the next morning, and Lilla was afraid the rest were kidnapped. The blue dog didn't speak to Lilla for days because of how ashamed she was of herself. Lilla was going to hunt that morning, and Niebeiski went with her. Together, they took down a good-sized stag and a few fish. As they were searching for some other game, Niebeiski smelled a strong, disgusting scent. It seemed to sneak past Lilla, as she didn't notice. Out of nowhere, a gigantic furred beast rained upon them. Lilla caught on quickly. "Help! Niebeiski! BEAR!" The blue dog leaped into the air to save her sister and to help her bring down the monster. Before they knew it, the two were pinned down by a huge set of paws. It was over.
A rainbow of flashes came spiraling to the bear. The aqua flash broke the bear's foot, the yellow flash broke the bear's front legs, the red flash tore the bear's ears apart, and the green and brown flashes were about to fracture the bear's spine when he threw them off and crushed them under his weight. Niebeiski witnessed as her brothers and sisters were eaten, crushed, and beaten to death. After the tragedy, Niebeiski slowly walked over to the fallen dogs and bear. There was no movement. Not even a cough. The bodies were beginning to cover up with snow until a certain brown flash, Kedroo, led the blue, weeping dog off the crime scene. Kedroo, without saying anything, took Niebeiski to her den, and then he said, "It wasn't your fault. It was fate. I'm so sorry, Niebeiski." He sprinted away, leaving her staring after him. Her eyes were filled with tears as she thought to herself, "How could it have unfolded and ended in this?"
