Loki woke to the sound of the door opening, The light beamed in, aluminating the enire house. The light shined right through to Loki's sleeping area, in the corner by the window. Joseph always kept the certains closed, although Loki didn't know why, he never complained. The few seconds that the door had been open Loki had thought about the last few months of his life. It had been nine months since Irain had found him, alot has happend since then. Irain had found a mate, Loki had made a few good friends and Joseph finaly gave up his addiction to alcohol. although the past few months had given many good things, it has also taken things. Loki's mother had finaly found him and wanted him to go back with her, but joseph was alarmed by the Wolfs apearance at his house. She had walked right on in. Josephs first reaction was to reach for his 6.35cal pistol. He pulled it to the Wolf who attacked him, Joseph was forced to fire at the wolf. He Had shot her in the chest, piercing through the heart at point blank range killing her istantly. Also Loki had lost his Dog like apearance, he was beggining to look more like a wolf every day. This began to scare Loki, he knew that the friends he had made in the dog population of Nome would reject him, even the thought of him. Every day Loki felt les and les normal, his eyes where changing and his fur was turning darker, giving him a wild look.

The Door closed, Joseph tried not to wake either of the dogs. He was unsuccessful. Loki blinked the sleep from his eyes, and climbed to his paws. He looked over at Irain, then smled. Irain had been like a Father to him ever since his mother and step father had become so abusive towards him, he had to run. He had to get away before he was hurt beyond recovery, not physialy but emotionaly. The torment they caused him was terable and unforgivable. Loki had regained his memories not to long after Irain and Loki had first met. Although his memories where back, there was a few things Loki barried. kept away from himself. things he never wanted to remember.

Irain began to stir, he rolled over onto his stomach and yawned. He to had heard the door open and close, but he didn't want to get up just yet. Loki had a slight chuckle to hiself.

" C'mon old timer, time to rise and shine." Loki said trying to get Irain to finaly get up.

" Loki, what time is it?" Irain said still part asleep, he was unaware of Loki's 'old timer' joke.

" Late." Loki said without a thought of what the time might actualy be. Irain slowly rose to his paws.

" Hey buddy." Irain said still not quite awake yet. " i'v gotta go out today, are you gonna stay? Or have you got plans as well?"

" I'm meeting up with a few friends in town in about ten minuts, so i'll be gone. Why?" Loki asked walking over to his water and food bowls.

" I was just asking, Joseph will be gone until late tonight soooo... Trace is coming over and i was just seeing what you where doing." Irain said following Loki into the Kitchen.

" Rain it's your place remember, you don't have to ask me." Loki stated.

" I know, but i wanted to check with you first. make sure you wheren't planning anything," Irain had a little chuckle to himself.

" Dont worry, i actualy wont be back until about six or seven tonight. iv got a few things i'v got to attend to." Loki said,. he then walked over to the door. " Look Rain i got to go now, soo i'll see you later."

" Sure pal, cya later."

Loki walked Straight out the doggie door and walked right towards town. The path Loki took was one he had made himself through the months. it lead straight through the forest half a mile from Nome. Even though the path was longer, Loki enjoyed his walks through the forest. It made him feel more alive. Listening to the Birds chirp in the trees. watching the rabbit run like mad from him. Loki had always felt a stronger connection to nature than the rest of his friends.

Loki began to think of his friends, they all where so normal. they had the easiest life style, sleep eat and chill. all of his friends where kind of lazy, Loki was the one who made them all get out and do stuff. somtimes mischeviouse but too them it was all fun and time passing. Loki had never told his friends of what his true heritage was, he feared that they would drive him out, treat him like an outcast.

Loki stopped walking to the thoughts he had just had. The main thing that ran through his head was ' What if they do hate me for being differant?" It had been over three weeks now since Loki had seen any of his friends. He has changed so much since then. His eyes were now golden and his fur was darker than before. Now if any of his friends had seen him they would have laughed so hard. ' But would they realy do that? we are all so close.' Loki took a moment to suck up all of his thoughts. ' Theres no way, not after what i did for them in the past.' He continued walking deep into the forest witch lead straight to Nome.

The Forest seamed rather quiet, besides the birds and other little animals running around. Loki's footsteps where the only sounds. The trees swaved from side to side and the water flowed steady and buetifuly. Nothing could ruin the beauty of the forests natural sounds. Not even in loki's dieing breath would he think otherwise. ' Life is wonderful.' Loki thought to himself. At that moment he herd a scream. A distance scream of pain. Loki's ears spiked straight up.

"What the?" The scream echoed again. Loki wasted no time in running to the source of the sound. He came to a clearing just out side of Nome, not even five minuts away. Right there in front of him stood a wolf, a female wolf. For the few seconds Loki store at her he thought of her Beauty. She had eyes Greener than the Jade emeralds color in the northern lights. Her Fur Whiter than the Pure snow. And her beauty, there is nothing that could mach it. A few moments ago Loki had just said to himself that there was nothing more beautiful than nature itself. But this wolf, she was Beautiful. Loki couldnt even think of the words to describe her. ' Atsonashing? Stunning?' He couldnt even think of a word to describe the word he was looking for.

The Female wolf yelped in pain. She struggled and struggled but couldnt move. Her leg was caught in a bear trap. She was stuck, and in alot of pain. She looked around over and over, making sure there was no hunters coming for her. She was un-aware of Loki's presance. Loki slowly stepped forwards and studied the Female. The female wolf Looked at him, and gasped. clearly she could see the dog side of him and feard that he might be working for the hunter that set the trap. So she Growled in defence. Loki slowly stepped further closer and closeer. She growled again, and Loki Stopped in his tracks. The female stared him down and bared her teeth.

" Stay away from me!"

Loki continued to look at her, but instead of listening to her he raised his paw as if to say. ' Easy, im not going to hurt you.' But the Female didn't pay any attention to what he was trying to say.

" I mean it Mutt! Stay away from me!." She yelled at him, but Loki felt sorry for her current condition, not to mention he was staring at the most beautiful creature he had ever seen in his life. He started to ignore her words and walked right up to her. "What are you doing! i said stay away! If you dont leave i'll hurt you." She was very angry at Loki for not listening to her, but Loki wanted so much to help. But he was too scared to talk to her. " Are you deaf?" Loki stepped one more step into her path, She wasted no time. She bit His paw and she bit it hard.

"Ouch" Loki wined.

" I Said stay away from me!"

" What and let a beautiful female such as yourself be stuck in this damn trap and soon be shot by the hunter that will come after you next? Not Likley." Loki's paw bled from the bite and it hurt real bad, but he refused to show it.

"Why would you help me? wouldn't your master want another rug?"

" My what? master? No this guy isn't my master, i dont even know who the guy is who set this thing. Trust me, if i wanted you dead you would be dead. And i just want to help, so... will you let me?" The female wolf stared straight into Loki's eyes. As if she was staring right into his very soul. She looked at him for a few seconds before she finaly realised he was telling her the truth. that he wanted to help her not hurt her.

" Sure, im sorry. i thought you where on of those disgusting mutts that hunt us so the humans can keep warm during the night. thats how my family whent..."Loki looked at her and felt sorry for her.

" I'm sorry." The Female smiled.

" It's been about three months since that happend and ever since then, iv stayed around the town near by waiting for the dogs who attacked my parents to come out, then i will kill them."Loki undid the trap that had her leg cought pretty good. she climbed up and out of range of the trap. Blood dripped all over the snow.

"That doesn't look to good." Loki Stated.

"it will be fine." The female said.

"No, come with me. i'll fix it up for you. you dont want to be bleeding to death. Trust me, i'v seen it happen before. It's a terable thing to have happen." Loki started walking off into the trees back towards his house. The female looked at him as he walked off into the trees.

"you coming?" The female stared at him.

"Why are you helping me?"

"Because, you need it. And i dont want to see some one so beautiful get badly hurt. And im sorry if thats too straight forward." The Female Smiled.

" My name is Angel."

"Loki."

"well its nice too meet you Loki."

"It's nice to meet you too, Angel." Loki and Angel walked off into the forest.

Chapter 2.

Irain walked slowly into town. He didn't take the same path as Loki, he knew that the path Loki had made was throught the forest and he feared the forest. His first mate and his son had been walking throught the forest on the way to visit him. The Forest was a dark and dangerouse place, and they had known that. But Irains mate had not cared this one particular time. She walked through the forest and cut straight through a near by wolf packs teritory. Unknowingly walking straight past a patrol of wolves. The pack was hostile to all that came near them, and so they killed the two Dogs they tore them to pieces. After what happend to his family Irain was so Broken he never realy had a heart for any thing. He was so depresed he almost died at one point. After he found Loki he thought maybe, Loki could help him mend the wounds in his heart. After time it worked, Loki became like a son to him. He knew that even Loki felt like he was Irains son. Loki had told him once before that he was the closest thing to a father he ever had and he was happy to know Irain. Over the past few months Irain and Loki became very close, Loki never realy kept secrets from him and Irain returned the honesty by keeping no secrets of his own. Even when Irain had found Trace, the most beautiful female since his first mate. Irain had told him the truth about about him and her, even though both Irain and trace had only just met and agreed not too tell any one just yet.

Irain's thoughts were interupted by and old friend of his.

"Rain, how's it going?" Irain looked to his side to see...

"Terry? hey buddy long time no see." Terry smiled.

"Yeah i'v been kinda busy. i just got back from another race. God i tell ya Rain, the races get more and more intense every year. Must be the old age." Irain smiled.

"Getting too old, hey old timer." Terry had a chuckle to himself.

" Very funny pal, your just as old as i am."

" Yeah, sadly i know."

" So where's the kid at?"

" Loki? he's out. said he was meeting his friends in town."

" Realy? i had just seen him. He was with some one else, and they where hedding back towards the shack." Irain furrowed his brow.

" He probebly forgot somthing. you know how kids are today."

" Yeah... real forgetful."

" Yeah, that kid would probebly forget his head if it wasn't screwed on..."

" Well i wouldn't go that far, the kids realy good at things he wants to be good at. Remember that fight two months ago when those bullies where attacking one of his Balto's Kids? Kodi i think it was, we had to rip Loki away from the kid. Remember he nearly killed him in a matter of seconds."

" yeah, i remember. Loki hasn't been in another fight simce then. I think he's to scared of what he could do if he got into another." Both terry and Irain smiled at the thought of the fight.

Loki Irain and terry where walking calmly through town. The entire town seemed quiet and rather at ease, no people running around, not even dogs where out at this point. The treo had come into town too meet up with some old friends of Terrys and irains. Old sled members, One of them was the great Balto himself. Loki was so excited to meet the legend he was jumping around and around like a kid would on christmas day waiting for there first presant.

Out of the blue Loki heard a whine, Loki stopped walking to listen. Both Irain and Terry didnt hear the whine and wonderd why Loki had stopped.

" Whats wrong Loki?"

" You didn't hear that?" Both Irain and terry shook their heads.

" Hear what?"

Loki took off down the alley way running full leg sprint towards the whine. when Loki reached the source of the sound he found Kodi fighting another dog with others standing around watching the fight cheering the Bigger dog on. The other dog was winning, he had Kodi pinned to the ground and was about to go for the throat when Loki Launched himself at the bigger Dog. The larger dog whent to the ground realy hard and Loki whent straight in for the attack. slicing and biting, Loki made the Dog bleed realy bad and just about whent for the throat when Irain and Terry scruffed Loki by the scruff and ripped him off of the Larger dog. The fight was over pretty much as soon as it started between Loki and the larger dog.

"Yeah the kid's a damn good fighter. I'm just lucky he hates fighting otherwise i'd never hear the end of all the conflict between him and another parents kid."Tery laughed about the last fight He had seen Loki in.

" Trust me, if Loki ever gets into a fight i realy dont think it will end out to well for the one who attacks him. Lokis a defensive fighter, he wont start a fight. And even if he did i doubt he would do it just because he was in the mood for a fight."

" Yeah, but if i let him he would kill others if they attacked him. Im just lucky he didn't take the wolf side of his temper. Other wise alot off people would probebly get hurt and he wouldn't be able to stay around here."

" Wait, the kids part wolf? so he's a mutt?"

" woah easy Tery. Is not the kids fault he's got Wolf blood in him. Remember Balto? he was part wolf as well and people treated him realy bad. Now look at him, he's the towns hero and he's the nicest guy i'v ever met. And i'm proud to call him my friend. Loki's the same. he's just a kid looking for a place in the world." Tery nodded his head.

"Yeah, sorry. I don't know why i said that." Irain nodded his head as if to say. 'Yeah right.'

" Look Tery, i'v got to go into town and meet Trace, i'll see you later?"

" Yeah, sure will. i'll pop around later on."

" Alrighty then. cya later."

" Cya Buddy."

Loki and Angel just walked into Lokis house, Loki had got the medical kit joseph kept in the kitchen cuboard. He pulled out a linnen bandage and placed it on the ground beside Angel. then he ran to the cuboard that joseph kept the towls in. ' For the blood.' Loki then walked over to the wooden dinning table Joseph kept his scissors on. He grabbed them and walked back to Angels side. He grabbed her leg with his paw and ran his paw around the wound, probing it for and damage other than the flesh wound he could see. Loki ran gis paw aboth the wound and felt a slight bump.

" Does this hurt?" Loki asked as he aplied a slight amount of presure on the bump.

" Owwww... Yes that hurts pretty bad. son't do that again." She smiled at him.

" Don't worry, i wont. not until i aplly the bandages any way. i think it's a little fracture. nothing too bad.you will be walking on it in a few days." Loki grabbed the towl and did his best to cleen up the blood, to save either of them licking it all up, it was a decent amount.

" Well, i hope your right. when i get home, Neyu is going to kill me." Loki looked up at him and rais his eye brow.

" And why is that?" Angel lowerd her head.

" He has strickly forbiden any of the pack to have any contact with a dog. he will probebly punish me a little for disobeying a direct order. As it is i'm not ment to sneak out of the cave so i can try to avenge my parents. If he finds out about that then i'm screwed." Loki stopped working on her leg and looked her straight in the eye.

" Why? what has he got against you leaving the cave?"

" Since my parents have died, both he and Nina have taken me in and treated me like ' family '. He just wants to protect me and keep me safe from the world. But i want to explore. I can't stay in the cave for the rest of my life. To tell you the truth you are the first Dog i'v ever met, and your not as bad as Neyu Makes you sound."

" Yeah... i'm not a pure dog." Angel tilted her head to the side.

" What do you mean, a pure Dog?"

" Yeah, i'm only half dog. Other half i'm a wolf. My Dad was a Dog, a husky. My Mom.... my mom was a wolf."

" What do you mean by Was?" Loki smiled for a second.

" As far as i know they're Both dead, i was told my father died before i was born, and My mom she was shot a couple months ago. Shot in the chest at point blank range, dead instantly. i watched the life leave her body. Her last words to me where 'Loki, i do love you, i just couldn't bare to see the resemblance between you and your father please forgive me.' just before she was shot. I hated her right up until she was shot, then i realised i did care about her. But it's too late now."

" geeeee, do you miss her?" Loki shook his head.

" No more than i did when i ran away." Loki finished up mending the wound as best he could. " There we're done."

" Thank you Loki, i owe you one." Loki shook his head.

" No need, just happy i could help the most beautiful girl i've ever seen." Angel blushed a little. " would you like me to walk you to your cave?"

" No, i will be fine. it would be best if Neyu doesn't find out about you not yet." Loki nodded his head.

" As you wish, Ma'am. Will i see you again?" Angel smiled

" I hope so, she said. Hopfuly next time i wont be injured." Loki smiled.

" Be safe Angel." Then she walked out the Doggie door. Loki followed her out side then watched her disapear from sight. Loki stared at the Spot Angel disapeard from. ' Wow, She is sooo beatiful.' Loki looked towards town for a second. ' Better head in and meet them before they think im not coming.' Loki al of a sudden had a feeling he couldn't quite shake. 'Angel.' Loki followed Angels trail into the forest.

Chapter 3

Angel slowly hobbled towards her cave, she tried to remove the bandages but Loki put it on pretty tight. ' to make sure i don't bleed. come on get off.' Angel stood in the clearing she had met Loki in. She looked around, there was no sounds and the snow seemed differant also, no paw prints from where Loki and her had walked, No bear strap and no blood.. Nothing, it's as if some one had come through and cleaned the snow just for her. But the thing that worried her was that the bear strap had disapeared as well. ' That hunter must have come back and reset the damn trap.' She took a step forwards, then out of no where she heard a gun shot. right in front of her the snow shot right up into the air. she panicked and ran, she ran as fast as she could on three legs towards her cave. The hunter had his Dog follow her. Angel could hear the Dog bark and growl. She could feel fear and the adrenaline run through her as she ran for her life. Her speed was saveerly lowerd due to her injury. ' Oh please ley me get home.' She thought as she ran through the depps of the forest. She ran and ran and ran. But the Dog was faster than she, he was catching up to her and fast. Suddenly Angel lost her footing and fell to the ground. Angel couldn't move she was in to much pain to even think. Her leg she got caught in the bear trap had snapped during the fall. It was now broken and she knew it. she wasn't going any where very quik. The Hunters dog finaly caught up to her, he slowly walked over to her and lent over her as she lay stil.

" Got any last words Wolfie?" Angel felt fear in her, a fear that she had never felt before. She knew this was it. " Very well, i shall just end it for you, don't worry i'll make it quik. I remember my master killing two wolves a few months ago, the the female looked just like you. Now she's made a beautiful rug. I think he will do the same with you." Angel felt a tear come to her eye.

" Why? Why are you doing this? Why me?" The Dog smilled.

" Because this is the only thing i love, and my master rewards me if i kill Wolves so i kill them." The Dog leaned down and Whispered in her ear. " Don't worry, i'll make sure your hide stays well treated and i promise that you will reside next to your mother for the next 10 years." Angel started to cry now. The Dog leaned down and placed his jaws on her throat. Angel Close her eyes and prepared for the dog to close his mouth and end her life for ever.

" LEAVE HER ALONE!!!!" Loki Charges the dog and hit it. The dog flew off of her and landeed a few feet away. " You don't touch her! Or i'll kill you! Do you understand!?" The Dog rose it ot feet and growled.

" Big mistake Mutt!" Then the dog charged Loki, he ran straight in and whent for the kill. Loki was prepared and sidestepped, he swung his paws around and hit the dog in the face. The dog swung around and hooked Loki in the face knocking him to the ground. The dog moved up to Loki and whent for the throat. Loki Knew the dogs next move, he had seen it used once before and he knew how dangerouse it is.the dog placed its paws on Lokis chest then placed his mouth around Lokis throat. 'Now!' Loki swung his paws up and hit the Dog in the mounth and kicked its paws out from under it. the dog flipped off of him and fell to the ground, Lokis next move was also one that suprised him as well as the dog. Loki put his mouth around the dogs throat and twisted, the dog whent limp. Loki store at the Dog bewilded at what he had just done. He looked over at Angel who still remain still. He walked over to her.

" Are you alright?" Angel stirred

" Yeah, i'm not dead so i think im alright." She smilled. " Thanks." Loki smiled at her.

" I think we should get you to your cave, Neyu will just have to get over it." Angel continued to smile at him.

" Where did you learn to fight like that? He was like what 4 time your size plus he was like 5 times your age so he's had more experience."

" I ummm... i just know how to fight, i can't explain it. i just can." Angel shook her head.

" No one just knows how to fight, somewhere along the line some one had to have shown you how." Loki shook his head.

" Well obviously not, because no one taught me. I just can."

" Alright then, this way. The cave is just through those trees." Loki walked with Angel to help he stay on her feet. A few times he was worried that she would fall over but every time she didn't. They walked right through the trees she indicated. There right in front of them was a cave, a huge cave. Angel looked at Loki and smiled.

" This is it." Angel said. Loki nodded, then smiled.

" This is a huge cave, i guess this is it then?" Angel whent to say somthing when they heard a vaice call Angels name.

" Angel! Where have you been." The one who called out walked over to them then. He walked right up to her and then stopped and stared at Loki. " Who is this?"

" Neyu this is Loki, He saved me twice today." Neyu looked at Loki with a little distrust.and a little uneasy.

" He did did he?" Neyu looked Loki up and down.

" Good to meet you Sir." Neyu didn't respond to him, instead he looked at Angel.

" And how did he save you?" Angel looked a bit uneasy.

" Ummm... well.. i.. walked away from the cave for a walk... and i uhhh... i kind of fell on a trap.... you know those bear traps the humans use? it was one of those.... then Loki came and helped me." Neyu looked back at Loki and smiled.

" Well then thank you. Whitch pack are you from and why where you in our teritory?" Loki was a little unsure of what to say.

" I uhhhh... i'm not from any pack."

" So your a Lone wolf then?"

" No i'm... not a full blooded wolf, i live in the town the humans live in Nome."

" And you brought this Mutt into our mists? How date you!" Neyu struck Angel across the face.

" Don't you lay another paw on her!" Loki yelled.

" Yeah or what? Your going to go get you master and kill me?" Loki looked Neyu straight in the eye.

" You touch her again and i swear i will kill you!" One of the sentries heard what Loki had said and walked over. Loki sore him walking over and prepared himself for an attack. Neyu grabbed a hold of Angel again and hit her again. This time a lot harder, Loki felt a rage built up inside of him. ' You can hurt me if you want, but you will not hurt her.' Loki looked at the Sentry that walked up to him, he was about to attack. Loki took the chance he had and took the strike first. He hit the sentry into the ground, its head bounced off of the ground and it knocked him unconciouse. Loki then looked at Neyu " Let her Go now!" Neyu struck Angel in the face again and this time it sent her to the ground, she landed on her broken leg.

" Come on then Mutt why don't you attack?" Loki smilled at him. ' I'v had enough of this, i just want to get her out of here.'

" If i win she comes with me and you never try to find her nor me, nor do you go near the town. You win you can kill me."

" Oh i eccept." Loki knew he might say somthing like that. Others from the Cave began to wonder out to watch the fight. Most laughed at the kid who was fighting their leader. They knew their leader was a good fighter, they all thought that the kid was going to loose. ' Who knows maybe their right.' Neyu started off the fight but charging at Loki, Loki was not quite prepared for this and was taken off guard. Neyu took Loki to the deck instantly. Loki grabbed Neyu by the throat and puched above his head. Neyu flew over top off him. Loki was instantly on his feet and charged Neyu. Neyu was still on the ground and only just had time to rais his paws into a block that stopped Loki from hitting him in the face. Neyu instantly threw the kid off of him. Loki took a few steps back, he stood tall and ready for the next attack. When Neyu stood their and did nothing Loki mimicked his actions.

" You're Good kid i'll give you that. How old are you?"

" Just over a year old." Neyu Laughed.

" No you're not, no pup could ever fight this good. Seriously what are you two or three or somthing?" Loki shook his head.

" No i'm honestly only just over one year old." The others in the pack around them began to laugh. " Honestly, don't believe me i dont care." Loki stepped to his side, Neyu did the same.

" How could a one year old pup such as yourself, be so good at fighting?" Loki again sidestepped in perfect motion with Neyu's.

" Just a little lucky i guess." Neyu stepped again, as did Loki. Both moving in exact motion with the other. Neyu then charged Loki, Loki sidestepped also doing a One hndred and eighty degree angle. He now faced Neyu, who was facing the other way. Loki Then charged Neyu. Loki landed on top of him, Causing Neyu to flip onto his back. Loki Jumped and clamped his Mouth around Neyu's neck. Every one in the pack took a deep breath. Neyu then closed his eyes and took a deep breath he prepared himself for the final blow that would end his life and leave Loki in charge of the pack if he chose. It never came.

" Get up." Loki demanded. Neyu opened his eyes he was shocked, the kid had the chance to kill him and take controll of the entire wolf pack.

" What? Why didn't you kill me? You had me, This pack would have been yours if you did." Loki shook his head.

" I Don't want to kill you, i also don't want controll of your pack. I wanted to protect Angel. What of the deal?" Neyu bowed his head.

" It stands, you may leave. And do not return here. Either of you."

" Come on Angel lets get you out of here." Angel was still a little out of it, her head still hurt alot and she felt a little woosy. Loki helped her walk away from the Cave and he walked he back towards the house he called home.

chapter 4

Irain walked Slowly down each street, he walked slow to think. To think of his new mate, she's as beautiful as Hana. Though he would never forget Hana and his son Tommy. He felt as if Trace was the only one he could ever love again. her eyes as blue as the deps of the ocean, her fur both Red and white, the red so beautiful and the white as white as the pure driven snow. She was also a sled dog once as well, she only recently decided to settle down and retire from the life on the go. When she first came to Nome Irain had taken one look at her and instantly had to talk to her. Irain couldn't believe she actualy realy liked him. They both heated of very well, he was scared that she might not want to even know him at first, but then when he finaly talked to her he realised differant. He fell in love with her very quick.

Irain was walking through town quetly, Dogs he knew walked past and said hello and he returned the ciresy and reaplied hello. but other than that Irain never realy spoke to any one. Irain took the time out to walk his thoughts off, he just had a dream of his mate and son being sloughterd by the wolves. it hurt and he couldn't help but tear up ( wouldn't you?) Irain had done several laps of town already and was beginning to get a little tired. it was about 11:30 am, and He had woken up at about 3 Am. he couln't get back to sleep so he took the time to go for a walk. Irain was just about to head back when he sore a beautiful Dog standing just out side the post office. she wore a harness, Irain's mouth dropped open. 'Wow, she's so beautiful. i wonder if... no she wouldn't want to talk to me... would she?' Irain for some strange reason started walking towards her. ' What am i going to say?' Before he knew it, Irain stood next to the Female. she was staring at the roster that said 'Dogs needed Mail team needs more members.' Irain stood there looking at the sign then he smiled.

" You a sled dog?" Irain said. 'Oh god... dah of course she's a sled dog, look at the damn harness.'

" Yes i am... well i was." Irain looked at her.

" Was?"

" Yeah, i can't realy do it anymore. Kinda getting a little old ya know. it's better off the kids do it. this was my last run and i think i will be staying here with my masters." Irain smiled, 'Yes that means you can get to know her.'

" My names Irain." The female smiled.

" Tracey, but all my friends call me Trace." Irain smiled.

" Would you like a tour of our grand little town?" Trace smiled.

" Yes, as long as your the tourmaster." Irain again smiled this time he looked rather goofy.

" I most certainly will be."

Irain then laughed, ' God i was such a goof then. Then? huh i still am.' Irain walked up Traces front door steps and then he scratched on the door. He waited a little while for an answer, but when he didn't get a response he staretd to worry a little bit. 'Where would she have gone too?' Irain scratched again. still no answer. He waited, nothing.

"Trace? you in there?" Sudenly Irain was thrown to the ground, someone landed on his back. " Ouch who the?" Irain turned to see Trace laying beside him. " Oh there you are, you know i'v stood here for about five whole minutes?" Trace smiled at him.

" Too long to wait old timer?" she said playfully punching him in the arm.

" No i actualy thought you weren't here. i was about to leave."

" Well here i am, want to go for a walk?" Irain laughed.

" Where to?"

" Your place?" Irain thought about it for a second.

" Hmmm i don't know i might have to ask mom and dad first." Irain smiled then laughed.

" Very funny old man." Irain stopped laughing.

" Ouch. that one hurt. Lets go."

Loki and Angel had made it back to the house, they didn't encounter a single trouble the whole way. witch to Lokis suprise was kind of a let down. Loki was hoping to have to stop atleast once, he wanted to prove to Angel that he would protect her no matter what. But he knew that she already knew that. He fought an alpha for her, he killed a dog that attempted to kill her, for her. He couldn't explain it he felt differant with her than any of his other friends, he felt... a slight jolt that ran down his spine every time he sore her. every time he looked at her he could feel his heart flutter, he felt... ' in Love?' Loki thought about it for a few seconds. 'I only met her today. it's to quick could it be love or just a feeling?' Loki place Angel on his bed. she fell unconciouse about an hour ago, he had to carry her all the way back. He thought about the distance that was between him and the wolf pack the Neyu ran. it was nearly ten miles? a little ways of any ways, usualy it wouldn't have taken him an hour to walk that far but with Angel on his back it took for ever. Loki looked over at Angel who began to stir, she looked straight at him.

" What happend?" Loki walked over to her and sat down in front of her.

" You past out. i carried you here."

" How long?" Loki smiled at her.

" About an hour maybe more." Angel shook her head.

" You carried me for over an hour?" Loki nodded slowly.

" Why? Why have you done all this for me?" Loki lowered his head a little.

" I uhhh... well... i guess i just kind of..." Loki looked back up at her and his cheeks where red under his Brown coat of fur. " Because i love you Angel." Loki smiled then looked away. ' There that wasn't so hard was it?'

" Loki i.... i love you too." Loki looked straight into her eyes and smiled.

" Realy?" Angel returned the smile.

" Yes." Loki got up and walked over to her side, then he layed down next to her. She cuddled into him. Then slowly they both fell asleep.

Irain and Trace slowly made their way towards the house, they where laughing and talking about every thing and any thing. Then Trace stopped walking and just stood there.

" Trace are you alright?" Trace smiled at him.

" Rain... i... i'm pregnant."

Chapter 5

Irain Stood on the spot shocked, he knew they had tried but to have actualy succeeded?. Irain was filled with happiness, he was going to have a family once more. His heart began to jump around in his chest. He looked at trace and his mouth dropped open.

" Trace... Are you kidding me?" irain Said whole lot shocked.

" No Rain, im pregnant and i have been for over a month now. I just didn't quite know how to tell you. I guess i was kinda scared you might not want to have kids not after.... not after Tommy and Hana." Trace said.

" Oh Honey, Why would you think that? I love you and now where going to have pups. This is great news." Irain ran over and embrased her in a lovers hug. They stayed like this for a while.

" Rain i think we should get moving, if we stay here people might think we are wierd..." Trace looked up at the sky. " It must be what Two or three o'clock now."

" Yea lets go." Irain said. Irain and Trace started to walk towards the Cabin when they heard a familiar Voice.

" Hey Guys!" Both Irain and Trace turned around to see a friend run up behind them.

" Balto? What are you doing out here?" Irain Said smiling.

" Well Kodi and i where going for a walk, then i saw you two walking this way. I figured, Hey i havn't seen you guys in a while. So i followed yas." Balto Smiled at his friends.

" Well we're just heading to my place to relax, if you'd like to join us, that would be wonderful." Irain said.

" Yeah i'd love to." The the three then walked off to Irains Home.

Loki woke up, He got barley any sleep. He couldn't help but stare at Angel. ' Yep she truely is an Angel.' Loki continued to stare at her. after ten minuts she finaly began to awake. She stired and tried to get up, but then she rememberd her broken leg. She fell straight back onto the bed they lay on. She then sat up.

" Ouch!"

" Woah easy, you broke your leg remember? You don't just heal in about 3 hours."

" Well i wish i could, it would make life so much easier." Loki nodded in agreement. " Loki?"

" Yeah? whats wrong?"

" Did you realy mean it when you said you loved me?" Loki smiled at her, he looked her deep in the eyes.

" Yes, more than anything. Why?." It was now Angels turn to smile.

" Because i also ment what i said. Loki even though i'v only known you for one day, and we have barley had much of a chance to get to know each other. I too love you. I cant explain it." Loki Nodded.

" Well life is misteriouse, it acts and tells us many things in many differant ways. This is life telling us that this is right. I love you Angel." Angel layed down and cuddled into Loki.

" I love you Loki." Loki was about to return the hug when he heard a noise coming from out side.

" I wonder who that is?" Loki climbed out of the bed and walked over to the window. walking towards the cabin was Irain, Trace and... " Balto?" 'Wonder why he's here?' Loki walked into the middle of the room and waited for them to walk in.

" Well Congradulations you two, I'm happy for you." Loki heard Balto say. 'For what?'

" Thank you Balto." Loki Shook his head. ' What the heck is he........ OH!' Loki Smiled, his smile spread from cheek to cheek. ' The old guys having kids? God i hope they don't cause a heart attack on the poor guy.' At that time Trace walked in the house followed by Irain then followed by Balto. Loki just stood there. Smiling...

" Hey Loki." Trace said. Loki continued to smile .

" Hey. I heard Balto say congradulations, is it.... are you?" Loki was very happy for them he couldn't quite get the words out.

" Am i what.... OH Pregnant?" Trace asked.

" Yeah." Irain smiled at him and nodded. " Oh my god congradulations!"

" Thank you Loki." Trace said.

" Loki is there some one else here with you? There's an odd scent i'v never smelt before." Loki nodded.

" Yeah there is. Irain please promise me you wont Freak please?"

" Freak about what?" Loki lead them to His bed. there on it lay a beautiful young female.

" Hello." Angel said

" Loki... did you find yourself a girl?" Loki smiled.

" Yeah but thats not the part your going to freak about." Loki said. Balto looked at Loki

" He thinks that you going to freak because she's not a dog. She's a wolf." Irain's smile vanished.

" Loki? She's a wolf?"

" Look Rain she was in trouble and i had to help her. I saved her from a bear trap then a dog tried to kill her and i had to save her. Then her Alpha hurt her so i fought him."

" Loki you know humans don't like wolves. Joseph would kill her on first sight. It's too dangerouse keeping her here." Balto interupted him.

" Loki if you would like, you and her can use my old boat for a while. I'm staying with Jenna so i don't exactly use it. If you would like, it's there for ya." Loki smiled and nodded.

" Thank you Balto." Trace stood there, not even saying a word. Just staring at the wolf. Angel stood up as best she could with her broken leg.

" Thank you sir." She bowed her head.

" No need to do that miss. your among dogs, not wolves." Balto said. Angel raised her head and smiled. Then she looked at Loki.

" If it no problem with you Loki i would like to check out this Home of the legend himself. The great Balto." She said smiling.

" No, not a legend not even a hero. just a dog doing what was necesary to help those little kids who had their whole lives ahead of them. Any one would have done it in my place." Balto said.

" Ok lets go Angel." Balto stopped them.

" Loki, Boris a Russian snow goose still lives there. tell him that i sent you and that you are in need of a home for a while. He will be more than happy to comply."

" Thank you Balto, i owe you one." With that Loki and Angel walked out the door. well Loki did any way, Angel sort of limped out.

Irain looked at trace then at Balto.

" They grow up pretty darn quick hey?" Irain said. Balto smiled

" yes they do, it seens only yesterday Kodi, Alue and the others where born..

Loki and Angel walked up the Gangplank of the Boat, it was clean very clean. 'Abnormaly clean for an old boat. Well Balto did say the goose enjoys cleaning it.' They reached the top of the ramp then looked around.

" Who are you and what do you want?" came a Russian accent. Loki looked to his right to see a goose standing with a mop and a bucket, as if he was preparing to knock them clean out.

" Boris, it's me Loki remember? Kodi's friend. I was here on christmas last year." Boris lowerd his wepons and smiled.

" Ahhh Loki, You come to see Me?" Loki shook his head.

" Boris, Balto told me to come speek to you about letting Angel..." Loki looked over at Angel and Smiled. She nodded. " Angel here and myself stay on this ship for a little while. He said that if we told you we were in need you might be able to help us." Boris smiled. then laughed.

" Ahh very well, you may stay. But i warn you, if Muk and Luk Know your here say good bye to late morning sleep ins." Loki looked at Angel and smiled

" Boris? can you show us where we can sleep? Preferably some where warm." Boris nodded his head

" Yes come come, this way." Boris lead them down into the deeper part of the ship, it was warmer than outside on the deck thats for sure. It was rommy and it had the basic necessaties for a basic home. A few boxes, a few soft cussions and some blankets.

" Well this is now your room, Balto use to use this as his little Place to relax. You know get away from every thing place. Well that all changed since Jenna and he had pups. Now he does not get the time to come and just relax. he's always busy doing somthing now days. I'm proud of that kid. Look at what he became, now every one loves him. Well i guess i should let you two get settled in. cyas soon." Loki nodded.

" Will do Boris." Loki turned and faced Angel. " well what do you think? I mean it's differant from where you're use to, but what do you think for a place for the time being?" Angel walked over to him and hugged him.

" It's perfect, i think i could get use to it pretty quick." She nuzzled him. " I love you Loki." Loki nuzzled her back.

" I love you too."

" Uncle Boris!" The Russian snow goose turned around to see two bears running full sprint at him.

" No no no no no no NO! Leave me alone!" Boris Ran and ran and ran around the Boat trying to get away from the Bears. But it did him little good. " Why me? who do you always attack me?" The bears peard straight into his eyes and smiled.

" Because we love you Uncle Boris." Muk said. Luk chirped a few times in agreement. " You love us don't you Uncle Boris?" Boris tried his hardest to get away from the bears but Luk picked him up and gave him a huge bear hug. Boris gave in then.

" Yes yes, but only when you are not making me into Featherless goose. Now let me go!" Luk groand then chirped somthing that Boris could not understand. " What di he say?"

" Luk says, all we want is to have a little fun with you Uncle Boris. Please come play with us?" Boris shook his head.

" I can not, i have thing i need to do." Luk again chirped somthing then Muk Nodded and laughed. out of the blue Boris was on the ground under the two bears screaming for them to let him go.

" Well i better get going, Jenna would be wondering where i am by now. Thanks for having me around." Balto said as he walked towards the door.

" No problem, thanks for coming. I guess we'll see you around then?" Irain said.

" Yeah, hopefuly it will not be soo long next time." Balto said smiling

" Any time you want just drop on by. We don't mind." Irain said. Balto nodded and continued to smile.

" Well, cyas."

" Cya buddy." Balto walked out the door and into the cold air. 'Oooh it cooled down since i came here.' Balto started to walk into town when he heard somthing in the trees to his Left. He stopped walking and stared at the tree. It was now night time and it was harder to see due to the darkness. Balto walked towards the trees, he stared at the spot not taking his eye off of it. He got closer and closer, then suddenly somthing jumped out at him. Standing on top of him stood a Black wolf. staring deep into his eyes The wolf growled at him as Balto store back at him.
