Kiska's Past

Aleu sighed. Kiska actually joined the pack...of course after she was done trying to kill her. Kiska had been a lone wolf that hated Aleu and tried to kill her twice. Luckily, she was saved the last time and now Kiska was on her side. Or, thats what it seemed like.

"I better get back to the clan." she thought to herself.

Aleu started to walk back to the cave where her clan slept. Kiska was sitting with some of the other wolves, talking to them quietly and she stopped when she saw Aleu. They barely looked at each other, but then Aleu was greeted by Sitka.

"Oh, hi Aleu. We were just talking to Kiska. She seems...okay, but I would still be on my guard." he said, glancing at Kiska as he spoke.

Aleu listened, but then walked past him. She needed to talk to Kiska.

"Kiska!" Aleu yelled.

Kiska turned around in suprise and looked at her. " What now wolfdog?" asked Kiska. "I am trying to get to know these wolves. After all, I am new here so shouldn't I get soem respect now?"

"Sorry." Aleu said. "At least I am not so...well...bossy I guess is a nice way to put it."

"Could I listen in? After all, I am the pack leader so I have the right to know what is going on." said Aleu, she knew she would have to give Kiska some time.

"Sure, but no one interrupt me...or else." Kiska said and then snapped at the air.

"Now...where were we?" said Kiska.  "Oh, Sitka, you were going to ask me sometihng, yes?"

"Yes, what as your past like? Before attacking aleu and everything?" asked Sitka.

A suprised look came over Kiska's face. Part of it was angry, the other was confusion and sorrow. Sirka noticed this and felt ashamed. He knew he shouldn't have asked, but he just wanted to and he thought it was now or never.

"Ummm...I'm sorry. If you don't want to tell us. You don't have to." Sitka said, hoping Kiska wouldn't try to attack her.

"No. I guess I should you. Aleu is leader and she has the right to know. *looks over at Aleu.*" Kiska said. "Now, this is where it all began..."

*flashback to life as a pup.*

"Mama! Silver wants to know if I can go with her today to see the waterfalls with her and Koyukuk." says a very excitec puppy Kiska. "

"I don't know. You won't have any adults with you." says Kiska's mother. She was white and light grey with a star-like marking on her face, and her name was Stardust.

"Oh, pleaaaaaaseeeee mama? Can I go? Pleaseeeeee?" said Kiska.

"Whats going on?" interrupted a brown and cream wolf named Storm.

"Daddy, I REALLY wanna play with Silver and Koyu, but mama won't let me!" said Kiska.

*Looks at Stardust.* "I guess you can go. But come straight back before sunset." said Storm.

"Yay! thanks daddy!" Kiska yells before running out of the cave.

Kiska has made it to the waterfalls with her friends Silver and Koyukuk, Koyu for short.

*Splashes* "This is so much fun!" says a grey and black wolf puppy named Koyukuk.

"Yeah, I'm so glad daddy let me go!" says Kiska.

The pups spent most of the day splashing and swimming in the water. Finally it started to get late. Sunset would be coming very soon. But the pups didn't notice this because they were havng too much fun to realize the sunset had past.

"Ohhh, its really dark out!" said Silver.

"Yup. And...oh...I just felt a raindrop on my nose."said Kiska.

"Listen." said Koyukuk.

The pups all heard thunder above them and it started to rain really hard.

"Oh no! I was supposed to be home before sunset! Daddy and mommy won't be very happy with me." said Kiska.

Suddenly lighting flashed above them.

"AHHHHH!!!!" the pups screamed. They didn't know what to do, so they ran around in circles and continued screaming until they slipped and banged into each other. (Haha, I just had to write this.)

"Okay, screaming will get us nowhere." Kiska said. "We'll have to find someplace where we can't get wet."

"Yeah, and soon, its raining harder by the minute." added Silver.

The pups searched for somewhere to sleep but sudenly they came upon a river. They didn't know how to cross it, and they found a beaver dam, so they figured they could get across by walking over it. As they started to cross, they realized it wasnt very safe. Then suddenly it collasped underneath their paws.

"Help!" Kiska and Silver screamed.

"Somebody help us!" screamed Koyu.

Suddenly they heard noises coming from bushes and the side of the river that they just got off from. Then Kiska's father, Storm jumped otu of the bushes and raced towards the pups.

"Kiska!" he called out. The rain was pouring so hard that it was hard to hear.

"Daddy, help!" yelped Kiska. The dam crumbled and they would soon be in the river.

Storm followed her voice and saw the pups in to beaver dam.

"Can you move?" He yelled over the sound of the wind fiercly blowing.

"Yes! But evrytime we try to cross, the dam crumbles!" Kiska yelled.

Then Silver's parents along with Koyus' popped out and tried to reach them.  Carefully, Kiska's father walked on the dam. He slwoly reached kiska and the other pups and told them to get and his back while he got Kiska in his mouth. As he walked back, the dam started to crumble. He ran over it and reached the river bank and looked over his shoulder. He saw the dam collasping andthen he put the pups down. Silver and Koyu's parents came up to meet them. Then Stardust appeared and nuzzled Kiska. But just as everyone was safe, the riverbank collasped and dragged everyone into the river.

"Help" Kiska yelled, but she swallowed a mountful of water and tried to swim but he current was too strong. Kiskas parents were swimming to her, but not very fast, they were swimming against the current which was very strong. Kiska could see that Silver was with her parents and that she was being held in her mothers jaws so that they could keep her with them. But Koyukuk was gone and as his parents were swimming, they suddeenly began to move faster and faster. But before they realized what was happening, they were going to go over a waterfall! Silver and her family were dragged down first, along with Koyu's parents, thne Kiska's mother.

"Mommy! NO!!!!" (Kiska)she cried.

Then Kiska's father took her in his jaws and started to claw the bottom of the river. But then, his paws slipped, and Kiska was dragged down the waterfall along with everyone else. As she was fallign she felt like she was dropping out of the sky. Her fur rippled in the wind as she fell, then she hid the water. But then, everything went black.

Kiska slowly opened her eyes. Her front paws were on a branch, which kept her head from staying out of the water. But she was glad to be alive. But what about the others? Kiska pulled herself up to stand on the branch and what she saw devastated her.
